    how do we download a file from Java Web Server connecting to oracle database
    it should start as soon a i click a button in my html browser
    please reply as it is needed to complete my project to submited to the collage

    With SQLJ you can do it.
    When you look at:
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/files/basic/basic.htm
    or
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/files/advanced/advanced.htm
    There are samples for reading LONGRAW / BLOB from Database. If you want use it in servlet you have to pass the result to the responce object, set the correct mime-type and set the response.setContentLength( xx). This is for some PlugIns nessessary (pdf).

    You are trying to attach SQL Server 2012  database files to SQL Server 2008 R2 which is not allowed, you either need to upgrade your SQL Server 2008 to 2012 or alternatively you can generate all scripts from SQL Server 2012 and execute it in SQL Server
    2008 R2.
    You can refer below link to how to generate script.

       now going ahead to deploy into XI server through SDM.
       can we deploy jar files directly into xiserver through SDM. or it needs to convert to any other formate like EAR, SDA. then how would i convert to SDA.
      i any have clear idea on this... pls throw the ways how to convert........
               JAR File to EAR format
               JAR file to SDA format
               EAR file to SDA format
       can any one explain the procedure step by step how to convert jar file into deployment archive file in order to succesfully into XI server.
              thanks  i advance. points will be rewarded.
      Regards
      Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
    JAR file in itself in not deployable.
    So v need to envelop this jar file into an EAR file and then v deploy this EAR file on SDM.
    Creating Jar
    Inside NWDS --> Windows --> Open perspective --> J2EE Development --> right click on ur proj --> Build EJB Archive
    Converting .EAR file to .SDA
    Converting .EAR file to .SDA

  • How to open a file located at server using JSP

    hi,
    i would like to open a file located at server as it is. I mean to say, if it a MS Word file, i wanna open it in MS Word, if it an Excel file, i wanna open it in Excel. i know the location (path) of the file. Can someone help me please.
    Thanx

    The best way would simply be to HREF it.
    ie<a href="excelfiles/spreadsheet.xls">Open spreadsheet</a>When a user then clicks on that lick in their browser they should be given the option to either download or (if they have the appropriate program, in this case MS Excel, installed) open it.
    This works best if the client is using a version of Internet Explorer (if you're dealing with MS files), but any browser should potentially offer you the option of opening the file.
    Beyond that there's no way to specifically open a program on a client machine (it'd be a bit of a security loophole if you could! - Imagine a JSP page being able to open FDISK...). All you can do is pass the file (via the HREF) and let the client decide what to do with it.

  • How to upload/download file to/from server using FiledownloadUI ?

    Hi experts,
    I don't have much experience of WDABAP. I have to upload a file  to server and then download it again. I have implemented  this functionality but I am unable to view contents of .xls/.doc/.docx/.msg file only  txt file contents are properly visible. I have used  following command to upload the file:-
    OPEN DATASET fname FOR OUTPUT IN BINARY MODE.
    I had  also tried this but it is throwing  exception that it can be used only for character type data.
    OPEN DATASET fname FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE  ENCODING UTF-8    WITH SMART LINEFEED.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to delete pdf files created on server using cfdocument pdf?

    I am using <cfdocument format="pdf" ...
    to create a dynamically named and generated .pdf and it works rather well.  Navy managers can easily email the pdf to ships in the fleet and planning forces in the shipyards. (Planning data changes almost daily). However I have noticed that the pdf file stays on the server.  Over time this could become a problem with numbers.  Is there something I am missing to remove these pdfs over time.  Other than a manual review and delete.  This government server requires 4 logins and your right arm to update, so something auto is needed.

    Thanks for responding:
    I am not using cfmail - I am leaving it up to the user to print save or email.
    Your second option sound good but I really was hoping I was just missing something easy (new to cf).
    I did try giving the pdf the same name but I was having lots of troble with always returning the cached version.

  • How to attach a file

    Dear All,
    I want to send an email but I don,t know how to attach a file. I am using gmail on my ipad2 now I wish to send an email to my friend along with my mail I wish to attach a PDF file.
    Kindly please help me out because it is not showing the option for attaching the file.
    Thanks in advance.

    Unfortunately you can't. But other apps will allow it, like Goodreader. Goodreader is free and lets you open PDFs which can then be emailed. Pages, which is a document-layout programme also allows documents to be emailed within itself.

  • How to recover deleted attached mdf file from sql server management studio

    Hi everyone
    I've faced very bad problem
    I had a mdf file that created in visual studio, and then I had attached this file to sql server management studio and after that, when I wanted to deattach
    this file I had a big mistake; and deleted the mdf file; then now this file was deleted from my computer
    I test several recovery tools but they can't find deleted mdf file; the volume of the mdf file was more than 2 GB.
    Please help me if you can

    Hello,
    If you don't have a backup of the database, then it's not really possible to get it back. There are some "Undelete" Tools available for Windows, but when even only one page was overwritten on disk, then it's not possible to recover it.

  • How can i avoid restarting tomcat server when servlet is modified?

    please advice me that how can i avoid restarting the tomcat server, whenever a servlet file is modified in my application. is their any way ?

    No probs. Here's how I do things...
    1. Install tomcat as normal (e.g. I install to C:\Apps\jakarta-tomcat-5.5.4)
    2. Create a webapps directory in your eclipse project with the following directory structure
    MyEclipseProject
       - src
       - conf
       - webapps
          - MyApplication
             - META-INF
             - WEB-INF
                - classes
                - lib
                - pages3. Set the project's output folder (e.g. bin folder) to webapps/MyApplication/WEB-INF/classes
    4. Put all your jar files in the lib directory
    5. Put JSPs / HTML in the pages directory (you may also want to create additional directories for TLDs, config files etc)
    6. Ensure your web.xml is in the WEB-INF directory
    7. Although it isn't essential I create a context.xml file and store it in META-INF, e.g.
    <Context reloadable="true">
        <!-- Default set of monitored resources -->
         <WatchedResource>WEB-INF/web.xml</WatchedResource>
         <WatchedResource>WEB-INF/conf/struts/struts-config.xml</WatchedResource>
         <WatchedResource>WEB-INF/conf/struts/tiles-defs.xml</WatchedResource>
         <WatchedResource>WEB-INF/conf/struts/validation.xml</WatchedResource>
    </Context>I use this to set monitored resources that will trigger an automatic appliation reload and to configure JAAS (not shown). See the Tomcat documentation for additional information.
    8. In the 'conf' directory I create a server.xml file used to configure Tomcat (you can copy the one from your <TOMCAT_HOME>/conf/server.xml).
    After copying the file change appBase attribute in the host element to be the full path to the webapps directory. You can also change the HTTP and HTTPS ports if you wish
    9. Download and install the Tomcat Launcher plugin from Sysdeo.
    10. In Eclipse's Preferences menu you will see a new entry for Tomcat. Click this then
    a. Set your Tomcat Version
    b. Set your Tomcat Home
    c. Set "Context declaration mode" to server.xml
    d. Set the configuration file to the full path to your server.xml file created in step 8
    On the "Advanced " sub page select all relevant projects to add to the Tomcat classpath
    On the "JVM Settings" page add all the jars in your WEB-INF lib directory to the class path
    On the "Source Path" page select all relevant projects
    Now if you start Tomcat using the Tomcat icon, you will be able to remote debug your application. If you change web.xml (or any other file in your context.xml watched resources) it will automatically reload. Any changes to JSPs will automatically be picked up (providing your tell your browser not to use the page in cache - e.g. CTRL+F5 in IE)
    There are some limitations that I'm still working on however. Primarily that I haven't included the Tomcat Manager application in my webapps directory, so Sysdeo cannot perform a reload. This means that if I change a source file, and eclipse auotmatically rebuilds, Tomcat doesn't pick up the change unless I either change a watched resource file (e.g. web.xml) or stop and restart Tomcat.
    There's no reason why this can't be fixed, I just haven't got round to it yet.
    I'm sure there are lots of other (probably better) ways of achieving the same thing. This was the first method I tried and it worked, so I stuck with it. I'm not a Tomcat config guru and I'm sure other forum users could provide some improvements should they wish.
    Post if you get into trouble, however I won't be able to respond until next week.
    Cheers,
    Steve

  • How to execute CGI Programs in Tomcat Server

    Hi,
    I am working on executing Perl Scrtipts(or CGI programs) in Tomcat Server.
    I have downloaded ActivePerl 5.8.0 6.0.3 build.I have modified some .jar files in tomcat\server\lib.
    I have changed conf\web.xml to access the CGIServlet.class that is in servlets-cgi.jar.
    My example.cgi is
    #!c:\Perl\bin\perl.exe
    print
    "Content-type: text/plain\n\n";
    foreach $var (
    sort keys %ENV) {
    print
    "$var=\"$ENV{$var}\"\n";
    @values = split(
    /&/,$ENV{'QUERY_STRING'});
    foreach $i (@values) {
    ($varname, $mydata) = split(
    /=/,$i);
    print "$varname = $mydata\n";
    and my test.html is
    <HTML>
         <HEAD>
              <TITLE>Environment Variables using GET</TITLE>
         </HEAD>
         <BODY>
              <FORM ACTION="cgi-bin/example.cgi" METHOD="POST">

                   <input type="submit">
              </FORM>
         </BODY>
    </HTML>
    here I have changed url mapping in web.xml to cgi-bin.
    The test.html produces two text fields first and last name on submit:
    it accesses:http://localhost:8080/smalltownpapers/cgi-bin/example.cgi?fname=Tim&lname=Eden
    this should print some environmental variables but it is producing an empty page.
    Tomcat is not showing any errors or Tomcat is not at all listening.
    Can any one help me to solve this and how to execute Perl scripts in Tomcat server
    Thanks,
    Regards

    Sorry, I've never done this. I went to the Tomcat site and pulled down the CGI docs, which you might have seen:
