How to Authenticate a J2EE application running on Tomcat & Apache with OAM

Hi All,
Can somebody point me to docs which states how to integrate a J2EE software deployed on Tomcat(AppServer) & Apache(WebServer).
I have Oracle Access Manager installed I need to enable SSO for that software.
Thanks,
RK

HI ,
Apart from the installation webgate and protection of the resource through OAM policies, you also need to modify your Java based application.
As a part of integration what OAM do is, it weill pass the user information(eg user id etc) to the Java application as the header variables. And now you have to modify this application so that it will accept the user information send by OAM, also login page if any of the application is disabled.
Also if you are going for cookie based approach, your landing jsp of java application should be capable of reading and validating obssocookie set by OAM.
Hope this will help you.
Thanks,
Ankit

  • Integrating java application running on OC4J server with EP Iview

    Hi,
I Want to Integrate Java Application running on OC4J server with my Enterprise portal
Can any one please help me out in this??
    Regards
    Padma N

    Hi Padma
Its possible to integrate a java application running in the other server with enterprise portal. In portal i think there is a IView template call Java application template.Using this generally we can do this. But in you case what type of a java application is it?Just a class or webapplication or a server side application. This you can also acheive using a webdynpro applications as these are very flexible with integration into EP.In webdynpro you can use suspend and resume plugs to navigate from one application to other application.I have given my ideas how to implement. But integration mainly depends upon your landscape and version compatibilities and type of the application you need to integrate.
Hope this answer helps you in implementation.

They changed it a bit, but you can still close apps. Double click the Home button to pull up the currently running apps. Side scroll over to the app you want to close, then swipe up on the app *window* (not the icon at the bottom).

how do I prevent multiple applications opening on start up with Lion?

It's the Resume feature of Lion:
Managing Mac OS X Lion's application resume feature.
If you shutdown your computer you should get a dialog asking if you want applications to resume on the next startup. Simply uncheck the box to prevent that from occurring. Open General preferences and uncheck the option to Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps. You can also install a third-party utility to control resume features on individual applications: RestoreMeNot or Application State Cleaner.

  • How to programatically start j2ee application/service  from command line

    Hi all
We have developed a j2ee application and deployed  the .ear file on SAP J2EE (Netweaver'04) engine.
We are able to successfully start/stop the application from Visual administrator -> Deploy -> Service -> Start application (or) Stop application.
We need to start and stop the same application programatically or via command line instead of doing it from VA.  Any thoughts from anyone on how to do it ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Nagesh

The cammands are there in the respective folders, these are just the batch files / .sh scripts that can be run from command line.
    /usr/sap/<instance>JC<client>/j2ee/admin
go.sh and go.bat can run either on command line
    j2ee/configtool
    configtool.sh / configtool.bat
similarly for other smaller utilities. For the main server, the related commands are in exe directory of sapmnt
    /sapmnt/<instance>/exe

Have you checked your Garbage Collector log file ?
I posted some hints about how to do that in the thread "Server Performance Issue" in this forum.
I could be that you are running out of memory after the heavy load and then everything will be slow afterwards, because full GC's might be triggered frequently.

    Regd,

    Hi Sanjay,
Does the Tomcat is in the local System?
If it is in local system try to run the application using
    <serverhost>://localhost:8080/......
    else for remote server
Its always safe to add an entry (alias name) in drivers/hosts file with the ip address of the server like
    2.2.3.2     myLocalServer
Now try to run and see.
    Thanks,
    Swathi

  • How do I develop J2EE application in envirenment of WebLogic 8.1 and JB9?

    Now I have 3 questions:
    1. I can not use the EJB's local interface, although I have define local interface in config file and query code in the programe perfectly. What additional work has I not done;
    2. I have to compile my program into a .jar, .ear or .war file(s) to debug, that is a unhandy way, even I change only one line of one page, I have to redeploy the whole application package once more. Is there any way else to deal with the work? Not a .jar, .war or .ear file(s) in the design time, just one page or class file, and I need not deploy and compile the whole application;
    3. If I use the JBuilder9's Run command boot the WebLogic Server, the application deploied anteriorly becomes unavailable. But when the WebLogic Server is boot from console, everything is O.K.. Any advice?
Thanks in advance for any help you offer!

JB has online help describing how to build web applications and J2EE components. It even has wizards to assist you in setting up your projects.
WebLogic (at least 7.x) allows you to deploy your web apps in exploded directory format so you don't need to build an ear/war file everytime you change something. Again, RTFM.
