How to auto populate data values on Material Class in Classification?

Hi,
I created 10 characteristics and assigned them to a class (type 001 for Material). This class I added in Material Master under Classification.
These 10 characteristics contains 2 key values where these 2 values able to retrieve the rest of 8 characteristics, which stored in different customize tables.
Is there a way to make when user enter 2 key values of the characteristics in the class and the rest of 8 characteristics would be auto populate base on these 2 key values?
USER_EXIT or something?

You can either use jquery/jaavscript or infopath form to achieve this. There is no default way to do this.
I would suggest jquery because you can put script in newform/editfor.aspx page using content editor webpart. Refer this link for jquery:

If you use infopath form, then you need to create two data connection to get data from both lists. Later you can set value in fields based on selection using rule. This can be possible without code.

    I'm trying to create an availability form that is submitted on a monthly basis. What I'd like is to have a radio button the user could click to indicate what day the first of the month falls on (Monday through Sunday), and have fields auto-populate with the remainder of the dates on the calendar. As it stands right now, I've got the radio buttons and the text fields, but I'm running into serious issues getting the text fields to auto-fill based on the selected radio button.
    I've labelled the radio button group "First Day of Month" and the individual values are "Monday" "Tuesday" "Wednesday" "Thursday" "Friday" "Saturday" "Sunday" and "Start". The "Start" button is hidden but is checked by default.
    My text fields are even simpler: "Monday 1" "Monday 2" "Monday 3" "Monday 4" and "Monday 5" (and then, obviously, repeated for each day of the week.
    I am horrible at scripting, so I think that might be where I'm running into issues. What I'd like to put is something like this (only, you know, functional, and for each days' text value):

    Which sharepoint edition you are using? I would prefer to customize your list form in infopath form then add new connection which will connect to your SQL. Later you can filter data based on cust ID. Here is the link to add connection in infopath:

  • How to auto populate data from one list in SharePoint 2007 into another list based on a key value?

    Hi,
    As a part of new requirement in my project I am supposd to work on SharePoint 2007. I have one List (BCExtract - Main list) with all data related to an Application (like ID, name, app manager RTO etc).
    I have created another list which has form to be filled by a user (with details about his/her applications). My requirement is that when the user enters AIT ID then the page should refresh (probably after hitting enter) and other details like Application
    name, RTO etc which is present in another list gets auto populated depending on the AIT ID (unique column) entered so reduce the burden on the user.
    Please suggest me how this can be done. I do not have permission for obtaining SharePoint Designer and I do not know JQuery. Infopath is ok but if this can be done through SharePoint 2007 alone then it would be great.

    In Anne Stenberg's Blog from 2 Nov 2011 3:00 PM "How to Create an InfoPath Form to Auto Populate Data in SharePoint 2010" she artfully steps through how to create an InfoPath Form to Auto Populate Data. It works but... Jason, another user, 
    wrote whenever the form is opened again either to view or edit, it displays the current users information instead of the value of the person who completed the form in the first place.
    Anne's response was "Hi Jason - I had forgotten I had that problem, too. Change the Form Load rule's condition to
    DisplayName is blank and that should work."
    My problem is I can't find anything other than AccountName in "Select a Field or Group" [GetUserProfileByName (Secondary)] to use in the Condition statement that will correct the problem.
    Any help will be very appreciated.

    Hi Joe,
    I recommend to add one more condition in Form Load to make the form not be populated with current user’s information (You can change Title to another column which should not be blank when users create a new item).

  • How to auto-populate form fields between documents?

    I'd like to create an interactive form where the user inputs data into different fields and then the data gets auto-populated into other fields in forms linked to the original form. Is this possible with Acrobat XI? If not, then which Adobe product is best suited for this? If it's possible, how difficult is this to do? I don't need exact "how to" tips at this point. I am not a developer and I don't have any experience with Action Script. I'm just researching what products I can use, as a non-techie, to do the job. Thanks.

    Thanks for your reply. I'm having a hard time understanding the functionality on the end-users's side with the different Adobe forms products. I did a little more reading up on this, but it's still not 100% clear. Perhaps you can help clarify.
    Scenario 1: The user does NOT have a copy of Acrobat XI on their end, and  I do NOT have a subscriptiont to FormsCentral, and I do NOT enable import/export features in the form using Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions. In this scenario, the user can fill out my form, but they can't save a copy of the completed form on their local drive. I, however, get a copy of the completed form where I can then extract and analyze the data.
    Scenario 2: The user does NOT have a copy of Acrobat XI on their end, but I have have a subscriptiont to FormsCentral. The user can complete the form and save it on their local drive, but I can't have data auto-populate from one to another. (Note: I went to the FormsCentral website and it says "Allow respondents to download the PDF form, print out, save, EDIT and submit later." I interperet that as meaning they can add text to a fillable form and save it on their end.)
    Scenario 3: The user does NOT have a copy of Acrobat XI on their end, but I have enabled the form with LiveCycle Reader Extensions so that I can have data auto-populate from one form to another. However, I have to pay for an Extension license fee. I managed to find the pricing, and it's too expensive for my needs right now. I'm looking to share the forms with students, so this is not an option.
    Scenario 4: The use HAS Acrobat XI. I can get data to auto-populate from one form to another and the user can complete and save on their local drive. This scenarios is not an option for me / Can't get students or schools to pay for a full license of Acrobat XI is not an option at this point.
    Is my understanding correct? If so, I feel like I've hit a dead-end. The only cost-effective solution is to have a simple fillable form without the ability to auto-populate data between forms. Sigh.

    If the actual filter criteria is only col1 the instead of displaying the values in the second prompt, make a separate report and only choose only the 2nd col in that report and make col1 as prompted and select appropriate title for that report.Place the report above the actual report in dashboard. So it will display only those records which are chosen in col1 from the prompt.

    SELECT  MIN (dt)    AS first_date
    FROM    table_x
    ;DATE is not a good column name, so I used DT instead.
    03-Mar-2012 is the date related to the least order_id. To find that, you could say
    SELECT  MIN (dt) KEEP (DENSE_RANK FIRST ORDER BY order_id)  AS dt_or_least_order_id
    FROM    table_x;If you wanted to find several columns from the row with the earliest order_id, you could do a Top-N Query , like this:

    2) by default, classname start with a capital letter, method names with a lower case letter
    3) where do you want to get the time value to Elist.a? During addEvent()?
    4) what do you want to do with the time value of each event? Sum all values up to make a an overall sum?
    5) where do you want to compare the time value(s)?

    Auto populate all rows with the current date in the      SharePoint list
    Dynamically update with the current date
    I first tried creating the column using the default SharePoint interface Date Time but it’s not doing any of the steps listed above:
    I even tried entering =[Today] in the Calculated Value field. 
    Still nothing…
    So, I’m sure you will toss out a code snippet to make this work, which is great. 
    However, I’m a total noob with SPD, where the heck do I insert this snippet?

    Hi ,
    I understand that you want to add a column  to a list to hold current date. Here is a workaround:
    Add a single line of text column to the list. Name the list as Today.
    Add a calculated column to the list. Use the [Today] as the formula. Set the calculated column to be Date and Time type.
    Delete the Today column from the list.
