How to auto set one numeric test step's limits?

i want to auto set a numeric test step's limits ,the limit's value is got from one number control and one offset control in LV front panel of my programm.when i change the number control in my fronet panel of LV, and it will auto set the limits to my step in teststand.How to realize it? Using local variable or...?? pls help me and give me a example source code.thanks

Hi,
You should use the SetValNumber VI off of the TestStand Palette on your Controls Palette. The property you are trying to set is for the step and is identifed by the lookup string(s):
"Step.Limits.High", and "Step.Limits.Low"
Have a look at the examples inside of \Examples\AccessingPropertiesAndVariables\UsingLabVIEW\AccessingPropertiesAndVariables.seq.

You can neither merge or delete them. Pick one and stop using the other. If they both have purchases associated with them you will have to keep using both.

How can I set one loop's frequency as a slave of another loop ?

I have 2 loops in parallel. The first runs at 500Hz. The AIread controls the frequency. How can I set the second one at 100Hz ? It is very easy to set it with local variable, but really not clean. The second loop must not use the CPU while waiting the next 100Hz tick. Is it possible ? I am trying to use occurrence, but the second loop will always (I think) use CPU while waiting next tick !
Is it possible to set one loop in one thread and the other one in another thread ? Then set each thread to a CPU (I use a bi-xeon PC)

One solution is to place a case inside the loop which run at 500 Hz. Put
your 100Hz code inside the True case. Use the "Quot
ient & Remainder"
funtion and the iteration counter to execute the true case every fift
execution of the 500Hz loop.
This may not work if the 100Hz code use to much time, it will then delay
the 500Hz loop.
I would go for the occurences solution. The wait will use some CPU
resources while waiting but i don't think that should be any problem (when
done correctly).

How do I set one wifi network as preferred?

We have 2 wifi modems at home as the signal is bad in some parts of the house with just one. So I have set up another as a relay. However, all of our apple iPads/iphones automatically default to the one modem we use the least. Even if there is no signal bars at all it will default to that modem and never chose the other one which it is set up for unless I manually change it every time I wake up the ipad. I have tried forgetting the network and then putting them back in in different orders. But same problem always occurs. Is there a way to set one network as the preferred first choice network without deleting the other one completely? Many thanks

system prefs>print and fax>print and you'll see a pulldown menu labelled Selected printer in print dialog. It defaults to Last Printer Used, but you can choose a specific printer if you want that for your default.

How do you set up a Testing Server?

My Local and Remote settings have been working fine for years but
now I have the need to set up a Testing Server and I'm not sure
what to enter in the fields when editing my site. Attached are
my settings for Local, Remote and Testing. When I published to
the Testing Server this morning overwrote the Remote Server
and had to ask fat cow to restore my original site. Please advise.

Your website is at http://bigcowmusic.com/. You want to use http://bigcowmusic.com/testing/ as your testing server.
Create a folder called testing in your site root.
In the Testing Server category of your site definition, set Host directory to point at the testing folder. Since you left that field blank before, it suggests that leaving it blank points to the site root. So enter "testing/" (without the quotes) into that field.
Set the URL prefix for the testing server to http://bigcowmusic.com/testing/.
To test that it's working, create a file in the testing folder, and make sure that you give it a name that doesn't already exist in your site (this will avoid overwriting a live page if anything goes wrong). Test it within Dreamweaver. Then go to your live site, and see if the page exists in the testing folder. If it is, you're set to go.

how do I select 1 widget to be the first widget that comes up when I click on the Widgets button. Before the new screen guide, if I left the WeatherBug widget as the last widget I had viewed, when I clicked on the Widget button it would be the first one to come up in the center.

Originally when 1.9 was beta tested the last widget selected "stuck" so it would be the one that came up next time entering widgets. Sometime (more recently) the retention stopped working. It has been reported to the development team but I have no idea if it is or isn't going to be changed in the bug fix release 1.9.1 (no idea when that will be rolled out).
BTW - I have also noticed that they are now sticking ads in the wideget carousel - BOO, HISS - Bad Verizon!!!

How do I set one monitor calibration for the whole system and users?

I'm really angry because when I logged into my first default account, My settings where normal, but I logged into my alt account, the settings where all messed up (NO ONE TOUCHED MY COMPUTER, AND THE ACCOUNT HAS A STRONG PASSWORD) The white balance was that slightly blue one. So, I changed it, and logged in to the alt account again to see it was okay. I want to my main account and used screenlock, and noticed on the login screen (I logged out of the account after I saw to see this same thing) it was the light bluer white balance. So I logged in and calibrated AGAIN and it finally when back to the default on the login screen (2:2 or something and native white balance) and my preferences for my accounts (television gamma, and native white balance) I just want it system wide to be:
-2:2 TELEVISION GAMMA
-Native White Gamma
Or at-least the login screen, and my two accounts, and that settings to be the system wide default.

First off, if you want help, act like an adult. We're all just other users you're talking to, not Apple employees. Such angry behavior will only ensure that no one will respond to any questions by you in the future.
Second, there's nothing wrong with Kappy's advice. The /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder is accessible by all user accounts. So putting one common monitor profile there and setting it in each account is what you want to do.
What you're seeing is a known issue when switching users without restarting. I don't know if there's ever been a true solution for it.

How do I set one object to have the exact same propertys of another of its type

Im have a tab layout, and there going to be a main page where u can see four differnt monitors for things. one is a multicolum listbox and the other 3 are just graphs.. since i put these four elements on the same page, they are not as big as they could be, so i want to create 4 other pages, each with one of these objects on them.. but i was them to contain teh same info and propertys (besides size) as the ones on my main page. Things like cursors and cursor positions as well as symbols in the multicolum listbox and plots on my graphs. How should I go about doing this?

I can think of three ways of responding to this Q.
At dev time (quick and dirty)
Get one of the objects the way you want it. Do a ctrl-c to copy it. Select the obeject you want to match-up and to a ctrl-v to replace the original with the prototype.
At dev time (utility required)
I believe there is a utility that was mentioned on Info-LabVIEW and may be available on the Open-G that lets you selct multiple objects and apply settings tall at once. I think it is based on control refnums and prpoerty nodes. I never used, just read about it.
At run time
Get a refnum tth two object you want to match-up and read the properties from the prototype and aply them to the target. Remember that this like active cursor etc will require iterating thru all.

how do i?
at cell B2 i would like to enter a number. in column C, i would like to have the same value for c2 through c11 cells. so, c2 through c11 i would like the value .2 in each cell. in column D, i would like the values found when columns B and C are multiplied. i would like the value of B3 to be the value found in D2, b4 to be the value found in D3, b5 to be value found in D4, etc.
is that possible to do using formula for columns? or something, well short of hand coding each cell.

let me try to clear up what i was asking, but no guarantees here.
i was trying to create a spreadsheet that would allow me to calculate the interest on an initial amount of money. i was a little frustrated when i wrote the post. i didn't understand how to do it using a construct like (D2:D20) = (B2:B20) * (C2:C20), which as far as i can tell is incorrect syntax, grammar, etc., just wrong. really wrong!
i'm not an accountant, as you can ready tell. i think though this is called simple interest.
ok, here's what i was looking to do, by way of an example:
given $1000 and an interest rate/ or rate of growth of 20% annually, calculate the amount of money one would have after 25 years. compounded annually.
$1000 * 0.20 = 200
$1200 * 0.20 = 240
$1440 * 0.20 = 288
$1728 * 0.20 = 345.60
$26,623.33 * 0.20 = 5,326.67
i realized what asked for was not this, well after i had posted and tried my post request by hand. so
i really understand the confusion.
i sure there is a built-in function for this, but i don't think i would have recognized it, because i don't know the financial terminology.
using the copying and pasting method, i built the first two line above and decided it had to be a better way, solving this kind of problem is what spreadsheet programs do... i copied B3 to cell B4, i copied cell C3 to cell C4, and i copied D3 to D4. copied and pasted. to my surprise, of course, because i had not read the manual completely, it copied the function to the cells and used the correct last values. (confusing here, but i hope you follow) after seeing that, i copied B4 and selected B5 - B21 and pasted, B4 to those selected B cells. i copied C4 and selected C5 - C21 and pasted, C4 to those C cells i had selected. that put 0.20 into each. i copied D4 and selected D5 - D21 and pasted to those selected D cells.
i seems to have worked.
i do have a question though. let's say instead of using 0.02 in column C i used 1.2. this would give me the amount of money i would have without having to add the initial to the interest made.
1000 * 1.2 = 1200
how do i assign the value, 1200, to another cell without using the copy and paste method? or is copying and pasting the way to do these kinds of things.

During import, how to auto split one project into multiple albums based on date?

I believe I've done enough aperture reserach to get all my terminology right, so here goes...
I've created a file structure within the aperture inspector the the tune of:
Year [folder], Type of event (Occasion, special occasion, holiday, vacation) [folder], Project (Wedding), Album (i.e. Day 1, Day 2 or Pre wedding week, event, honeymoon).
I also have entire months with 7 or 8 pictures each day, that are of the same type/project (random dog pictures) but are distinctly different days (albums - day in park, in bed at night, watching movie).
My question is, can I import one project with multiple albums already created based on the date they're taken. As I can see it, all I can do is split individual projects automatically by date. But what if one project is over one month, but has multiple distinct days that would be ideal for albums? One more example. We did a trip to San Fran. One day was touring the city, one day was a concert, another day was touring the city. All one project, but 3 different albums (in my mind). I had to import as one project, then separately go in and make albums. I would like that done automatically.
My suspicion is that I can not natively do this within aperture, and that I would need something called an "applescript." I haven't done any reserach into that area, so if that's the case and you know where I can find a script that would do this, I'd appreciate the help.

How can I tell that a default numeric format has been applied to a numeric limit step?

I am working on generating custom HTML code for our test systems in order to reduce the 'footprint' of the standard HTML entries for numeric limits, multiple-numeric limit steps etc....
For a Numeric Limit step, I can set the Numeric Format via the 'Limits' tab and select the pulldown arrow to select any format. Does TestStand actually save this information with the step so I could possibly use this later? I ask this because my modifications are within the 'ModifyReportEntry' Callback. When I am modifying the code to generate new HTML within this callback, I have no idea if the developer has selected a Numeric Format for a given step OR simply left it as DEFAULT.
To make matters more confusing, here is some more information....
When I pause the execution in the callback I notice the following:
Case 1: User has selected a Numeric Format ( this example I will say 3 digits of precision ) %.3f. for a numeric limit step.
Parameters.Result.Limits.Low = 10.000
Parameters.Result.Limits.High = 20.000
Parameters.Result.Numeric = 15.657
Notice the numeric data is ALREADY formatted! Great, I can simply use this to generate my custom HTML table for the numeric limit step.
Case 2 : User has left the numeric format to <Default> for the step.
Parameters.Result.Limits.Low = 10
Paramters.Result.Limits.High = 20
Parameters.Result.Numeric = 15.65713515155
Numeric data is NOT formatted. I know that TestStand will apply the Default Numeric Format that is configured in the report options when it writes the report but since I am doing a custom report I am stuck.
My question is how can I possibly tell that the data has already been formatted by TestStand in the ModifyReportEntry callback? Is there some flag that I could check or anything?
I do notice that the Parameters.ReportEntry string contains TestStand's default HTML code for the step and this is already properly formatted.. so as a possible workaround I could 'pick out' the data from this string but this is slow and time consuming.

You can find out if the numeric format has changed using the TestStand API. I use the following statement in my step's post-expression to find out the numeric format that TestStand uses for the step.
Step.Limits.Low.NumericFormat
If the string returned is an empty string, then it is the default format, otherwise, it's the one specified in the string.

What is the default identity store - and how can I set it?

I'm running Webcenter on WLS, and using WLS and JPS for the authentication of users. On the WLS Console, if I go to Security Realms -> myrealm -> Providers, I have a list of four different providers.
If I understand correctly, these four providers are my identity stores. How can I set one as the 'default' identity store? Or see which one is currently the default?
The reason I'm asking is I have the following code in Webcenter to create a new user in the Active Directory:

Thanks a lot for your help and providing this link. I'd actually already looked at that before, but I don't understand how it clarifies what the default identity store is. The relevant part is this, if I understand correctly:
OPSS initializes the identity store service with the LDAP authenticator chosen from the list of configured LDAP authenticators according to the following algorithm:
1.    Consider the subset of LDAP authenticators configured. Note that, since the context is assumed to contain at least one LDAP authenticator, this subset is not empty.
2.    Within that subset, consider those that have set the maximum flag. The flag ordering used to compute this subset is the following:
    REQUIRED > REQUISITE > SUFFICIENT > OPTIONAL
    Again, this subset (of LDAPs realizing the maximum flag) is not empty.
3.    Within that subset, consider the first configured in the context.Step (1) will match 2 external AD's and the built-in WLS LDAP, so 3 in total.
Step (2) will still match 3 in total, as they are all 'sufficient'. In my setup, I need them all to be 'sufficient'.
Step (3) is a step I don't understand. What is "the first configured in the context"? What context? Do they mean the one that was first created? In that case I can't change the default, right?
Or do they mean "the first in the list on the WLS Console"?
