How to auto shrink text in keynote 6.1

Just updated to keynote 6.1. Does anyone know how to auto-shrink the text???

I believe the auto-shrinking text only works in text placeholders not text boxes or text in shapes, which was also true in Keynote 5.3. When you select a text placeholder, click on the Text tab in the Format panel and then click the Layout button. You will see a "Shrink text to fit" checkbox. Hope that helps.

Wrapping and auto-shrinking text in a text box??

Hi -I'm new to using Pages and have a question that I couldn't track down the answer to in the Pages manual. When I am using a text box, I want to automatically have the text wrap and shrink. I can't resize the text box larger because of the newsletter layout. I could do this easily in Word when I work with a text box but can't figure out to do it here. Any help would be great. Thanks!

I can't picture what you're trying to do. I understand not resizing the text box, but what is it that you want to wrap & what to shrink?
I think you might be asking how to make the text you've put in the text box to fit the space available. You can "play" with the various adjustments in the text inspector. I find adjusting the line spacing by 0.1 & the character spacing by 1-2% can really make a difference without affecting the readability. Also, you can turn hyphenation on & off in the document inspector. One more thing to try is a different font.
Wrapping of text around the text box or any object is controlled in the wrap inspector. The object must be floating for text to wrap around it.

How to auto complete text field

Hello!
I have the following behavior request for a text field.
An user must write a date in a text field. The date format is yyyy/MM/dd (as 2003/02/04). The user would begin writing "2003" followed by the "0" character but would see in the text field "2003/0". The "/" would be automagically putted there.
I hope this table will make the behavior more clear.

Also, if the user deletes the characters "1" and next the "0" from the previous example, it would automatically erase also the "/" character.
Could someone point me to some sample code or give me some clues how to implement the previous behaviour? Does this pattern behavior has some well know name, where I can "google" for?

How to auto flow text in pages

Perhaps I am wording this incorrectly and have not found the answer that already exists on the forums, but here goes...
How do you autoflow your text between text boxes? In previous versions Pages allowed you to create multiple text boxes on the same page as well as other pages and autoflow your text in your preferred order. It seems that in this new VERY MESSED UP iteration of Pages, this is no longer possible. I am asking the question in the hopes that someone with more knowledge can steer me in the right direction. Part B to this question is WHY IN THE HECK DID APPLE SCREW UP THIS PERFECTLY GOOD PROGRAM?? ;-)

How to auto format text with new Pages?

I lost my 'auto format' of fractions with the new version of Pages. Before I would type "1/2" and it would appear as "½". Where is that feature located in the new version of Pages?

You can load these manually through System Preferences>Keyboard>Text in conjunction with the relevant characters that can be found using Character Viewer (use the search window in Character Viewer to find "half" etc.) Cumbersome I know but it is a one time set up.

1. Column_A
2. Column_B
I have a form that has 2 fields:
1. Field_A - Lookup Field - it takes data from a custom table lookup (Lookup Query: SELECT Column_A from CustTable) - it works fine.
2. Field_B - Text Field - I would like to autocomplete this field (as value from Column_B) based on the value selected in the Field_A (SELECT Column_B from CustTable where Column_A = "value from Field_A") - is it possible to autocomplete a text field ?
I have made it using 2 lookup fields and it works, but then user has to make a select on the lookup twice and I would like to make it only once.

I don't think w/o UI Customization it is possible.
UI customization won't be a small one as it is a common wizard and used at multiple places. So it will be a huge work.

I use spry to create an autocomplete form that works great across browsers that have javascript enabled. You can store info in a database and parse the info to xml for a dynamic approach. Take a look at the filter examples in spry.

Just to add a bit more about this question. I have seen in other related questions that this feature (vertical text) is not available in (apparently) the whole iWork09. someone even said that it should be asked to the developers, so they include this feature in iWork10. I find this issue a bit sad. This feature has been present in msOffice since a while, and at least for me, this is quite important for my work. It is also apparently not possible to have different page orientation in the same document, meaning portrait and landscape, so one can have wide tables in a whole page, for example. If this is true, it is again sad, and I just cannot understand why such a basic feature is not available in an already 09 version. I am using only the trial version of iWork, but already in the first day I have discovered that I actually cannot do what I was used to. Again sadly I (and many others I guess) will have to stick to Office until the mac software is fully developed.

How do I configure my iMac to auto sync Pages and Keynote documents with iCloud like my iPad and iPhone does. Note I've updated all devices to the latest software and I have iCloud configured for sharing on all but, neither app on my iMac auto finds and sync documents.

Thanks but, I have iCloud setup and I'm signed into the same account on all devices. I don't think I was clear is stating my problem with or expectations of the iCloud document syncing function. I'm able to create a Pages document (suffix *.pages document) on my iMac and save it in the mobile documents folder but once I access it on my iPad the suffix changes to a "jpg" file and Pages can not open a "jpg" file.
When working on the document on my iPad, the only way I can save it a in the ".pages document" format is to push it though iTunes and then go into iTune on my iMac and save the document down to my destop or document folder. My expectation is that like the iCal, Contacts, Music, and Apps syncing, the document and data functions would be/should be seemless (i.e. same format on the OS platform as it is on the iOS platforms).
It may be a bridge too far to Apple right now but, if they implemented this capability it would be awesome.

How do you remove or change auto generated text in returned form e-mails?

I am currently using Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional (Version 8.1.3) to create a form that will be sent to a group of people. When testing it, I've noticed that when the end user presses the "SUBMIT FORM" button and a new e-mail opens with the completed form attached, the following text is automatically added to the body of the e-mail:
Form Returned: XXXXXXX.pdf
Instructions to add this form to a data set:
1. Double-click the attachment.
2. Acrobat will prompt you to select a data set.
What I need to know is whether or not there is a way to either prevent this auto generated text from appearing or revise it so it gives a custom message instead.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you are getting a basic message that is telling you submitting the PDF is unnecessary and asking if you want to submit the data instead. I have not seen this one before, but that is my guess. If you are using the form fields created in Acrobat (not Designer), then just select FDF or XML for the data type to be submitted, not the form.

How do I create "metallic" text in Keynote 4?

Hello everyone!
I'm in need of some advice. I have been searching across the internet for a way to create metallic text in Keynote 4, similar to the black metallic text that Steve Jobs uses in his keynotes.
Is this possible with Keynote 4, or do I need to download some additional software / plug-ins?

Apple's always creating cool graphic images that make you want to do the same! If you're talking about the same "metallicish" effect I think you are, I did it for my recreation of the Leopard logo here.

The link to the .key file I used is in the text at the bottom of the page. It's essentially a special use of gradients (I've got tips for those on some of my other pages). I tried creating the same look in Art Text, but, while they've got LOTS of cool (even cooler) effects to use, there's not one that really comes close to what Apple's doing. But, after seeing that people wanted to do "shiny" buttons, they released an update that has new Web 2.0 styles that are exactly that. You should probably drop them a line to see if they can help make this one step easier for you

How to shrink text in SAPScript

I am working on a legal form in which one of the line contains arround 120 characters. All the
120 characters are to be printed in the same line.
I am not able to get all the characters in same line using font TIMES 6,00.
Is there a way to shrink text in SAPScript without changing the font?

How do I resize text as Window shrinks

I'm not sure I want to do this, but I want to know if it's possible.
I have captions next to photos on my site. As the window shrinks so does the image but the text size stays the same, and it affects the wrapping of the caption(looks bad) and the text is huge in relation to the photo. Is there a way to scale the text along with the photo so the caption stays in proportion with the photo.

There is no way I know of to "shrink" text as the browser window (viewport) changes. But there is a solution to your problem.
You have defined a "THUMBS" div thusly:

          margin-right: 10px;

          margin-top: 5px;
You have defined the width of that column as "18%." That means the width may change with a change in the viewport. If you change the width of that div to a fixed width (a certain number of pixels) or if you add min-width: xxpx; where "xx" is a width below which the text wrapping becomes an issue, your column for your THUMBS will not have that problem.
By the way, I never capitalize the first letter of a div class or ID. Were I creating the css, the class would be "thumbs." Perhaps you purchased some code here that relies on all caps for the class, but the only time I put an uppercase letter into my CSS is to help me see the class, for example, a right float would be called "fltRight" and left float would be "fltLeft."
