Hey there. No, it is not because of Cisco Connect Cloud. Totally different thing. Cisco Connect Cloud is only made available for the latest routers for Cisco. I saw your other post. Cisco Connect Cloud is not available for your BEFW11S4 V4 router. Just try to have your router's wireless capability reconfigured or modify so that you can have your wireless adapter working with it not unless you have to do an update on your wireless adapter to make it work again.

  • Updating e4200v2 to CIsco Cloud Connect

I know that Cisco Cloud Connect was released fairly recently. I also know that the e4200v2 was supposed to be a supported router from last generation for Cisco Cloud Connect. However, when I go to the upgrade firmware option on my router settings, it says that I have the most up to date firmware.
How do I get CIsco Cloud Connect setup on my e4200v2? Would I simply follow the manual install instructions for the ea4500 with the firmware for the ea4500?
I'm hoping that the updated firmware will fix an issue I'm having with getting a Seagate Expansion hard drive detected for the media server portion since I know a closely related hard drive was in the list of functioning external hard drives for the Cisco Connect Cloud firmware.
Thanks in advance. I really appreciate any help I can get.

I have tried it, it works well
But I dont like the ccc, so i downgrade my E4200v2 back to 2.0.37
Me too. I'm going to wait for the CCC bugs to get ironed out and for it to become fully functional. It was not possible to do DHCP address reservation from CCC. The iPhone app presents a dumbed down version of the router interface and is extremely limited. The iPad version is a 2x magnifed version of the iPhone interface.

  • EA4500 USB Printer without Cisco Cloud Connect

    Hi,
I recently purchased a EA4500 for my home network. After hours of searching, I couldn't find any evidence to how I can install a USB printer without the obvious Cisco Cloud Connect. I don't need any software or account to access my router over the net nor any of the features CCC provides (at least as of yet). I'm quite comfortable with using the web interface and easily managed to adjust the router for everything I need except the printer part. I certainly have things to print so I have to connect my printer to the router as it is clearly mentioned on its box that I can access my printer through it. As a last resort I tried to install the software on the CD that came with it to get a link for some "Cisco VUSB" software which I think is the solution but it keeps saying my modem is not connected to the net. It clearly isn't because I don't have an internet connection at home. What I have is a 3G connection which I use for communicating and downloads I need. So why do I need an internet connection on the router for anything and how do I install my printer? Thnx.
    Regards...

For the router to work & allow you to use the Cisco VUSB then you need to have an internet connection for it & not just 3G connection! The router will only work if their is modem in which it will serve as the source of your internet connection. Once you have the modem attached to the router then you can run the CD & that would allow you to install the CCC software & use the Cisco VUSB for your printer.

  • Error 2123 When Saving Media Prioritization Settings in Cisco Cloud Connect

There are several features that don't work and are returning errors.  For starters, when trying to save settings for media/device prioritization I am receiving a 2123 error message.  Unable to save settings.  EA4500/N900 Router, Cisco Cloud Connect.

As a workaround, try to reset the media prioritization settings on the router then check again, http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=9bf7b6e25b984839aecbff2fcbd8c20e_How_to_reset_the_.... If it's still the same reset the router manually by pressing  the reset button for a like 30 sec so to ensure the new version of the firmware will be installed properly.

  • Why does everybody hate Cisco Cloud Connect so much ??

Just upgraded from e4200v1 to the ea4500. I may be a minority but I actually find the new cloud firmware a refreshing change and I installed it by choice. The original firmware was just feeling a litte dated after years of owning linksys routers.  I'll agree it is a little slow but I am sure that will be addressed. As for those saying it has been streamlined,  I was able to find almost all important settings that often actually need configuring in a few minutes. As for it being full of bugs, If you want to see buggy firmware buy an asus router, I just returned one it was so bad.
While I can't figure out why one would really need to remotely access their router the ability to fire up the guest network or monitor devices on my router from my phone is really cool. I'm anxious to see what Cisco/Linksys have in mind for upcoming releases, it opens the door for so many possibilities.

I am looking at the box of my EA4500 and there is nothing on it about CCC.  That was added after the fact.  In fact most EA4500s out there now were pre-CCC.  You clearly don't have an EA4500 in your hands, there's nothing on the box talking about CCC.  Cisco Connect software is not the same thing as Cisco Cloud Connect, right?  Because that's what's mentioned on the box.
Try finding a 4200v2 for sale then try finding a 4500, price is nearly the same( only $10 difference) , the devices have very similar specs if not identical.  So, you would save a whole $10 for last years model?  Not the best plan for me.
As far as complaining about a cloud implementation for a local device?  Really?  You think this is a good idea?  You think that this works "well"?  I've asked before and I'll ask you since you want to go after me for voicing my opinion on a thread that's asking people what's wrong with the software...  Would you put your home thermostat control "in the cloud" so that you could control it remotely and remove any local control option?  That would be silly wouldn't it?  If your access to the control ever gets interrupted for any reason, you can no longer control your device.  This is what happens here.
As for software support...  Cisco already isn't supporting their software.  You cannot use any of their installation or update software if you are using Mac OS X Mountain Lion.  At this time the OS has been available for a month and a half and Cisco doesn't appear to be doing anything to provide support for an OS that is guaranteed support according to the system requirements on the box.

  • Any intention of addressing those of us that want no part of the Cisco Cloud Connect?

This ability to DOWNGRADE our firmware on a good many new routers, is a bandaid pure & simple. Does Cisco plan on addressing those of us that will not be a part of the cloud? Does this mean our brand new routers will no longer be supported? Are they even entertaining making the Cloud Connect an option?
It's been over a week since they rolled out the cloud. And a week tomorrow, since they enabled the rollback.

Thought I would share this I just found out today via following Cisco Systems on Twitter, their tweet from July 6. But, the Cisco blog had it the evening of July 5th. I also noted that Vince_02 shared it in another thread. This link should be announced and stickied!

  • EA6500 and CISCO Cloud Connect

This issue seems to happen about once every week or so.  I get the router settings all configured and I'm able to access it from Cloud Connect and from the APP on my smartphone.  After about a week, it's no longer accessible from cloudconnect, I can access it from my smartphone, but it shows that there are no devices connected (when they are actually connected).  The screen for cloudconnect will come up after I sign in, but it just has the circling dots in the center of the screen saying "waiting" and it will do this until I close out explorer.  The only way I've found to resolve this is to reset the router and set everything from scratch.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Check on the firmware on the router and update it. Reset the router manually through the reset button then reconfigure it, http://homekb.cisco.com/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=2b4150ad548347ce8a451b1170f36e47_How_to_manually_...

  • Cisco Cloud Connect (Linksys Smart Wi-Fi) just keeps "waiting"...

I have an EA6500 router which I successfully set up a home network and started using the Cisco Clod Connect app.  I was able to use the app from my smartphone and home PC about a week ago.  But now when I attempt to access it - I just get a "waiting" sign.  My account ID and password is correct and I even try to access  it with the router password I get the same response.
    Can anyone offer a solution?
    Thanks so much.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I am having the exact same problem with mine.  It's keeping me from being able to set up my wireless.  I talked to support and they said that the cloud has been down for maintenance.  We should still be able to make configuration changes whether it can connect to the cloud or not.  I don't understand the option to access the router locally if it is still trying to access the cloud in some way.  It should be smart enough to let us make changes locally and then update the cloud when it's back up.  Not very happy now about upgrading the firmware.

  • How do i disable "cisco cloud connect"?

I want to access my router's configuration page the old-fashioned way. I know i can disconnect from the internet to do this, but isn't there a better way? This requirement is intolerable. Is the ciscoconnectcloud.com server down? I can't even access my router now...
    regards,
    js.

Thanks for the responses, but how can you be sure that the http://www.ciscoconnectcloud.com website was not down? Or at least that I could not reach it through my ISP? I still think this could've been the problem because:
    1) Soon after I started having this problem at about 6PM Friday, I power cycled the EA4500 twice, and then I held the reset button down for >15 seconds to reset it to factory defaults. That still didn't fix it.
    2) At about midnight Friday I tried again - having done nothing else - and voila - I could reach http://www.ciscoconnectcloud.com and thereby access the EA4500 configuration page again. Nothing had changed, but five hours later i could access that page.
So I guess there's still no way to run without the ciscoconnectcloud to manage the router, besides disconnecting from the internet? Also, I was on a chat session with cisco for 30 minutes and during that whole time, she gave me zero information. all she did was ask for my serial number and keep me waiting and she "thanked me for my patience." i ended up just hanging up on the session.
BTW, it appears that going back to "factory defaults" didn't clear my previous speedtest results - they were still there, going all the way back to August 2012, which is when i bought the EA4500. not completely a "factory default."
Also, I still have the problem in which my Roku Soundbridge won't play the music files stored on the seagate drive connected to the EA4500. I can navigate to the files and click "play" on them, but the Roku says its unable to play them. This had been working since August as well. Any ideas on that one?
    regards,
    js.

  • E4200 v2 - Cisco Cloud Connect inquiry

When can I see the Cloud in my E4200 V2? Hope the new firmware will be shipped out soon.

I've checked their support site and the firmware that has cisco connect cloud is still not available. Possible that they're still working on it so that it will be available for download for this router. Hopefully it would be soon.

  • How to avoid a SocketException: Connection reset by peer

    Hi,
My problem sounds very simple at first, but I couldn't figure out how to get out of it. It's tricky.
A have a JSP page which makes some processing and yields output to the user. Everything runs OK, until the user decide to stop the window (or to close the window) before the results render to the browser. When the next browser tries to load this page, the right page is loaded, but before it, the error garbage (error page, stack trace) from the previous user is showed in the browser...the exception is SocketException: Connection Reset by Peer.
As I could see in the error log for the web server, the server flushes the page to the client browser, but the browser closed the HTTP connection, then this error is returned. That's OK, but this error output that was not sent appears to be "stored" somewhere in the server, and then is sent to the next client that requests the page. I tried to clear the buffer with out.clearBuffer() in the beginning of the page, but it didn't work.
The solution would simply be to ignore this error output, i.e., to clean the output before the next user try to load the page. but I don't know how to do that.
Sorry about the long posting, I hope I was clear in my explanation. I am using Websphere Studio Testing Web Server...and this situation happens on any browser (the problem seems to be in the server).
    Thanks in advance,
    Tiago.

try using out.flush() in your code, use finalize ??
    out.flush();
    out.close();
    all the best !

  • How to configure Cisco Unity connection 8.x to play an after hours call handler

    Hi,
I have CUCM 8.6 and CUX 8.6, we have successfully configured Call Handlers to play greetings. But the problem is greeting is played complete day and all the day in a week. We want to customize this call handler so that it plays only during the business hours and also during the weekdays.
I have a recorded after hours and holiday greetings recorded but unable to find the way to configure it for Holiday greetins. Please help with the configuration part.
    Regards
    MAC

    Hi MAC,
What you need to do is configure a schedule for the call handler. On Unity Connection, you can browse to System Settings > Schedules (and Holiday Schedules). In here, you create your schedules to say which times of the day you are open. You then go back to your call handler and apply these schedules that you've created.
Now when a call comes into the call handler, it will check the time against its schedule and play the appropriate greeting.

Glad to hear you got it updated.
Creative Cloud file sync services are currently unavailable. We're working to restore service as soon as possible. To disable error alerts you can Turn Sync Off or Quit Creative Cloud Connection.
You can check the current status of Creative Cloud at http://status.creativecloud.com.
Uploading, downloading and working with your files from the web service at https://creative.adobe.com/files is working normally.

  • EA4500 PPTP configuration assistance - cloud connect

There are a lot of instructions to connect DDWRT to VPN tunnel providers, however, the EA4500 is not compatible with DDWRT firmware.  I have upgrade to the cisco cloud connect and have been attempting, unsuccessfully, to connect to the VPN proxy provider through PPTP connection type on the EA4500 router...
I have the VPN server IP, login/password, however, have not successfully been able to connect to the provider from the router (setting up VPN on PC works fine). Whenever I update the Connection Type from: Automatic Configuraton DHCP to PPTP on the Internet Settings tab (IPv4), I cannot re-establish my internet connection.
    The instructions from the Provider:
    Enable the PPTP Client.
Set the Server IP or DNS Name
Set the MPPE Encryption to mppe required,no40,no56,stateless.
    Enable NAT.
Enter your User name and Password.
If these steps do not work, please setup PPTP in the WAN section instead.
    Thanks for any assistance.

I believe the installation got messed-up, I suggest you do the manual set up instead if re-running the set up wizard will still not work. First though, reset the router by pressing the reset button for 30sec, wait for the power light to start flashing before releasing it. Check on the links below for the manual configuration instructions if you have cable or DSL internet service as well as the set up instructions with the wizard.

  • EA4500 Cloud Connect Problem - Can't rollback firmware

Please excuse me if this has been posed. I've searched the forums for solutions ad nauseum without succes.
I have an EA4500 with the most current firmware: Ver.2.1.38.138880 - upgraded on July 27th. I could login to Cloud Connect online for a while, but the other day, when I tried to go to advanced settings, the web page never came up.
I found the rollback instructions (http://goo.gl/tHQYF) but they're not working. Specifically, step 3, entering the IP or myrouter.local fails to bring up the router -- aka I can't get to the firmware to roll it back.  I have done a reset to factory (still has the firmware version listed above) and I've reinstalled the cisco connect that helps set up the router initially.
I would be ok if cisco cloud connect worked... I would be ok with rolling it back as well, but it won't let me. Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Robert-

Is the router powered and disconnected from your modem? Yes
Did you do a full reset of the router (push and hold the reset button for 10+ seconds? Yes
Is the Cisco logo status light constant on? Yes
Is the PC hardwired connected by its network port to a network port of your router? Yes
Are other network ports, including wireless, of the PC disabled? No
Is the PC set to either DHCP or has it an IP address and subnetmask in range with the router (e.g 192.168.1.100 / 255.255.255.0)? Yes
As I mentioned, it just stopped logging into www.ciscoconnectcloud.com. When I try to launch it from the 'advanced' settings of the Cisco Connect program it fails to find the website: 192.168.1.1.  I've not made any recent changes to the device.  I do have a USB HD attached, but detached for the reset etc. and have not reconnected, except to try login with it on once.
