How to avoid leaving a gap when closing tabs on Firefox 5?

Hello,
I want to disable a new feature on Firefox 5. Or, at least, I don't recall it being a feature on Firefox 4.
When I have various tabs open, and close one of them, they go to the left, leaving a gap to the right that will be filled the time I move the mouse somewhere else.
Being graphical:
Starting from this:
|¨¨a¨¨||¨¨b¨¨||¨¨c¨¨||¨¨d¨¨||¨¨e¨¨|
I close the last two tabs, first "d", then "e", keeping the mouse over the tabs zone:
|¨¨a¨¨||¨¨b¨¨||¨¨c¨¨|_Blank Space_
Then, I move the cursor somewhere else, and then it fills the blank space:
|¨¨1¨¨||¨¨2¨¨||¨¨a¨¨||¨¨b¨¨||¨¨c¨¨|
How can I avoid this gap when I close tabs?
Turning browser.tabs.animate to false did nothing.

Cor-el, when we close the tabs, there's an animation where the remaining tabs grow into the vacated space. I have browser.tabs.animate switched off and would, as a result, have expected the tabs to instantaneously resize, instead of doing an animation that slows things down slightly and which I thought I'd turned off.

How to avoid submitting a page when tabular form rows are empty

I have a master detail form in my application. There are 2 tables that are used Table A and Table B. Table A contains Ticket number and Table B refers to Table A through a foriegn key and Table B have columns like Date,Name, Age, ticket_id (that refers to the ticket_number of the Table A).
This is how the application works:
In a page there is a field for Ticket Number, once the user enters the Ticket Number and click Add Details, a tabular Form with 5 empty field appears... (Done through Page Process->Data Manipilation->Add Rows)
This form contains fields Date, Name and Age. Once the user fills in all the details and click Submit button, the page is submitted. Whatever values that was entered is saved in Table B. Page Sucess message appears. This works fine.
But once the Ticket Number is entered and Add Details is clicked, and without entering the values in the Tabular Form, if Submit button is clicked, there is no error showing up neither I see Page success message. But this should not be allowed. There should be some error showing up...
Tabular Form Validations works only when user enters some values in the Tabular Form and click Submit. For the above scenario, where the form is untouched the validation doesnt work.
How can I get this done? Any ideas?

The correct way, especially for versions prior to APEX 4.0 is to use JavaScript, but for that, you need to know and understand how APEX generates your tabular form, HTML wise.
To be very brief, APEX attached a unique ID to every updatable cell in the tabular form, using a certain pattern – each updatable column is getting a unique name (e.g. ‘f01’,’f02’ etc.) and the ID of a cell is a combination of this name with the serial row number the cell is on. For example, a cell on the third row in an updatable column called ‘f04’ will be given an ID of f04_0003. (More detailed explanation, with an example, can be found in my book).
What you should do is to check these cells according to your validation policy (e.g. is all five row must be filled, is all the columns in a specific row must be filled, etc.).

How do you leave your iMac when you're not using it?

I have a 24" iMac 2.8 with a 750GB Hard Drive. I tend to leave it on all the time shutting it down over night probably once a week. I have my settings to turn the display off after 5 minutes and turn off the hard disks "when possible". I just wondered if this was healthy or will it shorten the life expectancy of my pride and joy? I must admit that I do like to leave it on all the time. I leave my Time Capsule on all the time too...should I perhaps shut this down also?
I have the Applecare program which gives me some piece of mind with my iMac.
I'd be delighted and interested to hear how you all 'leave' your iMacs when you're not using them.

I have my system plugged into a UPS and generally leave it sleeping. There's a window where I have it scheduled to wake up and then sleep again, but it I otherwise sleep it.
I suspect that sleep probably puts the least wear on your machine and is safe if you have a UPS. FWIW, an early 2007 24" iMac draws 3W of power when it's off, and 10W or so when asleep ( the newer models use less than 6W). During the boot process, power consumption will go 200-220W for ~1 minute. Normal usage it consumes about 100W. Idling, the machine will use between 70-100W depending on the screen brightness, and about 45W if the display is off and machine is idle. Playing something like WoW brings the power consumption up over the 200W mark.
The mechanical parts wear proportional to the number of times they are used (physical switches), and the electronic parts wear mostly based on the the result of cycles of temperature changes / surges of voltage. Pressing the power-button to power-on the Mac probably puts the most wear on the unit as a whole. That said, under normal circumstances you are not likely to put enough wear on anything but the hard disk to have it fail.

Custom plugin crashes repeatedly when closing tabs

Hello,
Our company has a custom plugin which we install onto firefox in order to connect to its API.
lately a customer complained that our plugin is crashing repeatedly. all i have to go on is this crash report for now:

can anyone help with this?

The first crash reported seems to be crashing in visual studio. If you are using this to create a website, try a new profile to see it has to do with the interaction with your plugins. [[Use the Profile Manager to create and remove Firefox profiles]] though if they are needed, this might not work. Disable the plugin [plugin PageHook Version:6.0.0.0 Filename:nppagehook.dll ] as this was reported as the culprit of the crash.
A bug has just been filed for this the second crash and will need further investigation. However it does look like it is crashing in the plugin operation. It is it possible, can you please try to disable you plugins to see if it crashes again.

Mountain Lion freezes for few seconds when closing tabs

Hi all,
When closing tabs on Google Chrome, usually after "heavy" navigation (HD flash video or several pdfs opened for examples), Moutain Lion sometimes freezes for less than 10 seconds and then back to normal. The trackpad is still responsive but I can't do anything appart moving the pointer. It appears around two times in one hour. In never appends with other applications like Photoshop or games.
This may be already a known issue on ML, but all the reports I read were pretty old and not exactly similar. Here some details :
Recent Mid 2012 Retina MBP (only 15 battery cycles)
Os X 10.8.2 ; 2.6Ghz ; 16GB
I *nerver* connected it to any external displays.

Those log messages indicate a fault in the graphics processor. Take the machine in for warranty service. Make sure you can reproduce the problem.

How to avoid the split problem when uploading the data from csv file

              I have to upload data from the .csv file to my custom table , i have found a problem when uploading the data .
i am using the code as below , please suggest me what i have to do in this regard

                 wa_empdata_csv-Title

APPEND wa_empdata_csv TO itab.
in the flat file i can see for one of the record for the field Title as
Director, Finance - NAR............there by through my code the wa_empdata_csv-Title is getting splited data as "Director, and Department field is getting Finance - NAR" , i can see that even though " Director, Finance - NAR" is one word it is getting split .
.......which is the problem iam facing.Please could any body let me know how in this case i should handle in my code that this word
"Director,Finance - NAR"   wil not be split into two words.

Best way to avoid such problem is to use TAB delimited file instead of comma separated data. Generally TAB does not appear in data.
If you are generating the file, use tab instead of comma.
If you cannot modify the format of file and data length in file is fixed character, you will need to define the structure and then move data in fixed length structure.

Ideapad U410 gap when closed

I just purchased a U410 from the outlet and I'm pretty happy with it except for one thing. When closing the screen, the screen only sits flush with the sides and not the front (trackpad side). When closed, the lid seems to convex up a little creating curved gap. I'm wondering if this is normal? Can anyone with a U410 chime in about a gap on the front when closed. Thanks!

The "PostToInsecureFromSecureMessage" warning can't be suppressed, it is too important.<br />
You will get that warning if you go from a secure https connection to an insecure http connection and POST data entered in a form on a secure site is send to an http server.

Your question about making Word "the default when closing AW documents" is a bit unclear.
An AppleWorks document is an AppleWorks document. If you want it in Word format, you must explicitly save a copy of it as such (and also append the .doc suffix to the proposed file name).

It works fine, but the programs tries to record a House Bank in the company code view of the vendor.
Which I don't want.
Does anyone know how to get rid of the house bank ?
I already tried, by deleting the entry in the characteristic TRVHB, through PE03, but then, the file is not generated successfully.

Invalidate connection to BlazeDS server when closing tab in browser

There is an issue using IE and blazeds. When you establish a connection to blazeds from a tab of your browser, even when the tab get closed, she connection remains. The session doesn't get invalidated. It looks like it works fine in Firefox but it's an issue in IE.
It is especialy important if you are build a chat room for example ... you want to know precisly when someone is leaving the room.
I finally found an answer to this problem. I didn't find any answer on the Internet so I felt that I should share it.
I invalidate the session on the server side using a servlet.
Here is the code:
In my flex app html template I add:

How to stop a while loop when using tab control

How do you use a tab contol to stop what is happening on one tab when you switch to another tab? In the test example I attached, I have a while loop nested inside a case structure controlled by the tab control. When I tab to page two the elapsed timer starts but when I switch to another tab it does not stop. I can't come up with an easy way to stop or exit the while loop when I change tabs.

I played with it a little more and came up with this fix. This fixes it but is not tied to the changing tabs as I was looking for. Is this just too many nested loops and a bad idea?

Is there a way to have a warning notification prior to closing out all tabs, when multiple tabs are open?

The prefs for the warning message have been set to false as the default in current Firefox 4 beta versions.<br />
