How to back up or export shortcuts illustrator cs4

I`m trying to export my shortcuts so that if I re-install or move illustrator CS4 to another computer I can install the shortcuts again. I lost them the first time because I was under the impression that if I use the export text option in keyboard shortcuts that would allow me to import them back in, but it does
not allow this. I`m using XP pro.
I`m assuming this is the file below selected in red that needs to be independently copy/saved in another folder, then replaced to back up the keyboard shortcuts??

Yes, the KBSC file is the one you want to duplicate elsewhere.

How can I use my fonts in Illustrator (CS4) without Suitcase? InDesign has a fonts folder, but not Illustrator.

i found this info from this link: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3466307. The user who asked this question stats this solution worked for them.
First in Language and text preferences in the system preferences select Hebrew as the input method.
The in Illustrator click the text tool in your document or drag to create a text frame.
While the cursor is active select a hebrew font
then go to the menu bar for the finder and where there is the American Flag pull it down and select hebrew
now go back to the document and start typing.
Remember if you do not have the ME version you have to have it flush right and type backwards.

• How do I remove a shadow in Illustrator CS4?

Hi,
I need to take a shadow off a vector graphic in Illustrator CS4, is there a way of doing this?
Many thanks,

First try this. Select the small circular art on the left side and delete it. If you cannot use the lasso tool to just select that then use the layers panel to select the art and the delete it.
Once deleted select your art and see if it reads in the Appearance panel as a group and if the groups has the effect applied to it.
if so delete the drop shadow effect.
If not open the layers and elect the layer the art is one go back the appearance panle to see if it now lists the layer as the top item and see if the effect is applied to the layer if so select it and then delete it.
if none of that works then use the direct select tool and select each elemental path, one at a time and delete the drop shadow effect using the appearance panel.
One of these methods will work. Unless the drop shadow is actually a filter and not an effect. In that event use the direct select tool to select the select the shadow on the canvas and then delete it.

• Why am I getting a "-01" after my differently named Exports in Illustrator CS4? i.e.: JPEG and PNG files.

Again, the files I am Exporting are assigned different names than the CS4 Illustrator file and/or any other files in destination Folder.
Thx.

OK. Just tested not using "Use Artboards" and it did not add "01".
Odd that it started doing that after several years of not doing that.
I'll just have to add a box around the Page edges so it will crop correctly for me.
Live and learn, Scott.
Thanks much for your your help! )))

• Export problem Illustrator CS4 - help

Can anyone help? I export a file to JPEG at max quality, anti alias unchecked as I normally do, then open that file in Photoshop, resize and save for web. Has been working perfectly, file is clear on screen when enlarged. Now when I do the same operation, my file in Photoshop is all 'jagged edges'. I did change the anti alias settings in .ai as a test but reset everything, however, now my files will not export clearly. Help.

Turn off OpenGL in Photoshop's prefs. Sounds like you are seeing the hardware-accelerated texture smoothing that kicks in when zooming.

• How to get existing library imported to new itunes install, old library was not backed up or exported

How to get existing library imported to new itunes install, old library was not backed up or exported. This occured due to Win 7 user profile was corrupt.

I know that in Mac OS X one can pick which library to use by holding down the option key while starting iTunes. What's the Windows equivalent?
Press the Shift key.
WIll the fact that the music is now on another physical drive make a difference
No.
I know the previous install is at least 7.0, but I have no idea about which point release.
Try checking the content of the iTunes Music Library.xml file.
Finally, what's the expected behaviour (or required procedure) with respect to reauthorization of this computer to use the same ITMS-purchased files?
You will be asked to reauthorize the computer.

• Once made a selection in photoshop how do you export in Illustrator and use it with a cutting plotte

once made a selection in photoshop how do you export in Illustrator and use it with a cutting plotter?

Plotters require continuous paths. Convert the selection to a path and clean it up suitably. Copy&paste it to Illustrator and use it as a clipping mask on your artwork or whatever. You may also need to create a duplicate layer/ separate PDF file file. Talk to the people doing the plotting.

• How to retain layer when exporting to tif with CS5 Illustrator?

I have a client that wanted the illustrator file given to him in tif format so that they would be able to have the layers available in another software package such as Photoshop. I exported the file uncompressed to a tif format, then ftp to their location. They told me when they opened it it was flattened to 1 layer. They were right I opened the file I sent in photoshop and it was one layer. I then tried to open the tif file in illustrator and it too was flattened. This was a complex file with many layers. So, after researching and trying all the suggestions I could find, such as ungrouping everything that was grouped then exporting again, it did nothing and I verified all color space was the same, but that didn't work even when trying to open the exported tif with illustrator.
So, instead of wrestling with a big file I created a 2 layer file. 1 layer contains an object, and the other text, nothing complicated. I then tried exporting the file as tif; same results the file was flattened to one layer both in photoshop and illustrator. The only way I could retain the layers was to export as a psd file. So, how do you export an illustrator file with layers as a tif and retain the layers?
Thank you for any help offered.

As Scott said, there is generally no layered TIFF format. You will have to use PS to produce it's arbitrary TIFF "layers", which are merely a bunch of sub-images in one file held together by custom user data.

How do I get my money back? Adobe Export PDF does not work

You'd have to contact Adobe (we are users).
That being said, if you go to the proper forum and give them the details about what you mean by "does not work", I'm sure they can help you. Because it does work.

• Since switching to Firefox 4 I'm unable to access a web page by pressing "Enter" after typing the url in the address bar; I now have to click on the bar; how do I change things so that I can go back to a keyboard shortcut?

I use keyboard shortcuts whenever possible but since updating to Firefox 4 I can no longer access a web page simply by pressing "Enter" after typing the url in the address bar. Can I get back to this useful shortcut somehow and avoid having to fiddle with a mouse?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

• Is there a way to change the default export filetype in Illustrator CS4 for Mac OSx

Hi,
I do a significant amount of exporting from Illustrator and always need my images exported as JPG. The default filetype for exporting in CS4 (for mac) is PNG, and I can't find a way to change this. Since I always want to export as JPG, I feel like I should be able to set that as a default.
Am I missing something? How can I change this default?
Thanks,
Chris

You can create an action.
Record the action then go to file export select jpeg and then the quality etc and then exort and stop recording the action give it a keyboard shortcut.

• How to both resize AND export to PNG at specific resolution?

I am trying to export a PAIR of vector files as PNG-24's, one at 72 ppi and the second at 150 ppi, Illustrator CC.
I also want both exported files to have a different SIZE that their existing (and of course, completely arbitrary) vector dimensions.
If I use Save for Web in Illustrator CC, I can indeed change the size, BUT I can't specify a resolution!
On the other hand if I try to do a File > Export, I can easily specify the resolution as 150 ppi, BUT I can't change the size!
If I go 'way back to my Illustrator CS4 version, there was a toolbar display of the selected object's (or group's) physical dimensions - see the attached image - but I can't seem to find it in the CC version of Illustrator.
As Retina resolution images have been around for several years, it would be helpful to be able to have complete control over how vector images created in Illustrator could be output at 150 ppi AND with the ability to specify the physical size. And, being able to write an action to export the pair of different resolution images would be even better.
Am I missing the obvious here? For the time being, I am back to my old machine with Illustrator CS4 just to export Retina-friendly images...

This is not the issue - pixels are pixels, you're right. It is a question, rather, of how awkward it is to export the different sized files from Illustrator.
Here's the problem. Supposed I have a vector file that has nominal dimensions of 385px x 91px on the artboard - can't even SEE that info anymore, as I noted. (I'm sure there's a toggle somewhere for that, but I can't seem to find it...)
I want to export this as a PNG at a smaller size, say at 62% = 239px × 57px. OK, just click and it's done, Save for Web, 62%.
Now, I need to export it at twice that physical size for the Retina version. If I didn't write down my first PNG's EXPORTED dimensions, (and I work on a LOT of these files...), when I go back to Save for Web, I have to manually remember to double the first file's EXPORTED dimensions, i.e., 239px × 57px = 124% to get my larger file of 478px × 114px.
On the other hand, if I go to File > Export, Illustrator lets me create larger files, but won't let me change the dimensions of the original file to begin with. It just makes no sense to me. If I could reset the vector's nominal size FIRST, it would be much simpler. One Save for Web, then one Export at Medium Res.
