  • TS3274 I am getting the error message "you are not a part of the administrator group". How do I get rid of this

I am getting the error message "you are not a part of the administrator group" when I try and set up my ipad and log in with my apple id. How can I bypass this error message?

Firstly, I recommend to go to Central Administration > Security > Manage the farm administrators group > make sure that your account is listed.
Yes, the account that I log into the server is a Farm Admin account
Secondly, did you do the backup or restore operations with PowerShell command or through Central Administration?
Used to be able to do it thru the CA, now I'm running PowerShell and using the scheduled tasks to run it when needed.
If you are using PowerShell, I recommend to run SharePoint Management Shell as administrator.
I'm able to run the backup with the account that is in the Farm Admin group.  as I have that setup as the PowerShell account to run under.
If you are using Central Administration, I recommend to run Internet Explorer as administrator.
I still get this error when I run IE as the log in to the server who is in the build in and the SPS Farm Admin Security group:
You are not a local administrator. You must be a member of the Administrators group on the server that is running Central Administration to perform most backup and restore operations.

  • SCCM 2012 - How to add domain id to local administrator group of all clients

SCCM 2012 - How to add domain id to local administrator group of all clients
    Hi,
i have a domain id sccmadmin which is a part of domain admins group too.
Need to add this ID to the local administrators group of all clients. How do I do this? Please help!

    Hi ,
you need to choose the second option .
First option will remove all the domains users from the local administrator group available in all the PC'S .Then local administrator group will only have the users updated on the members list present in group policy.
Note : Local admins accounts on the local administrators groups will not be removed.
Second option will add the newly created group to the local administrator group in all the PC'S and it will not remove the existing members in the local administrators group.
Step 1 : Just try to create one new group for SCCM management .
Step 2 : Then add the SCCM account to that group.
Step 3 : Then please create a new group policy on that just choose the second option. On that option just add the newly created group to be an member of administrator group in all the PC'S
Why i have asked you to create a new group ?
Because in second option , we don't have a option to add a individual user .
Once you have created a group policy it will like below snap.
As an additional i will tell how to find the newly created group policy is applying to computer objects or not ans also i will tell you how to force update the group policy
1.gpresult /r ----> To find the which group policy is applying on user and computer object .
2.rsop.msc ----> There you can able to find the change has been applied or not .
3.gpupdate /force -----> Forcefully updating the group policy in a client machine
4.In gpmc.msc there is one option called group policy results .That option will be used for centralized management to find the policies that are applied to a user and computer account.
5.Just check the event viewer in all the PC'S for group policy related events.
Most importantly you need to make sure all the computer accounts are placed in an ou ,where the newly created group policy is applying and also make sure that OU doesn't contain any inheritance block.
Please feel free to reply me if you have any queries.

  • Not a member of the Administrators group

My wife wants to use my iMac to do office work for her employer at home.
To do this, she has to install some employer software on my iMac.  But when she tries to install her employers Mac software, she get the message "Hardware installation cannot start with this user account.  Make sure that the user is a member of the Administrators group on the computer."
To make her a User/Admistrator, do I do the following:
    1)  Go into System Preferences and clicked on Users & Groups.
    2)  With the Current User as Admin checked, clicked on the padlock to unlock it and type in my password.
    3)  With the padlock unlocked, under Login Options, do I click on the + to establish a new user account for her?
    4)  Then, highlight the new account and click on the box "Allow user to administer this computer" and relock the padlock?
    5)  When the computer reboots, will it reboot with her as Administrator so she can load her employers software?
Once I have done this, in the future when she wants to use her new account, does she go into System Preferences - Users & Groups, unlock the padlock, click on her account to highlight it, relock the padlock and reboot the computer.
    Thanks,
    jzach52

    Yes to 1 thru 5
To access the account it is faster just to logout and login rather than rebooting.

  • How to add a user to the wheel group?

How to add a user to the wheel group in leopard?

In Leopard, users can be added to system groups using 'dscl'. For example, while logged into an "admin" account, the command below can be entered using "/Applications" > "Utilities" > "Terminal.app" to add a user "username" to the "wheel" group:<pre>
    sudo /usr/bin/dscl . -append /groups/wheel GroupMembership username</pre>
If you prefer a GUI, "Workgroup Manager.app", included with the Leopard version of the "Server Admin Tools" can be used.

Drag the entire group into the To: field of a new message. The group is in your Address Book. You've used a name for it, like My Group. You can simply start typing "My Group" in that To: field and it should appear in a context menu.

  • How to delete datasource registration from the administration tool?

    Hello,
How could I delete datasource registration from the administration tool?
    Thank you
    Krisztian

    Hi Krisztian,
You can not delete the datasource from the admin tool, but can do so
    from the iPlanet registry -
    - invoke kregedit
    - Go to Software\iPlanet, Application Server, 6.0, DataSource
    - Select the datasource you want to delete, Choose Edit-Delete from the menu
    to delete the datasource.

  • How to disable password expiration for the administrator?

    Hello
is it possible to disable the password expiration for the administrator? For all other users the password should expire after 90 days but not for user administrator.
How would this look like with LDAP integration? I assume that user administrator is not replicated to LDAP and exists only in the local UME database, thus it would work like without LDAP. Or is my assumption wrong?
Thank you in advance for your answers.
    Best Regards
    WB

    Hello Harikiran,
    thanks for your answer.
Yes I found the setting in VA:
Global Configuration > server > services > UME provider >
    ume.logon.security_policy.password_expire_days
    or in Configtool:
    Global Server Configuration > services > com.sap.security.core.ume.service >
    ume.logon.security_policy.password_expire_days
But for me it sounds that this will apply then for all users that are managed in UME, not only for the administrator. Are you sure that this is only for the administrator?
What is with the users database table in WEB AS Java? Does somebody know the name of this table?
    Regards

  • How do I log in as the Administrator

Trying to update some firmware for my Olympus camera, but told that I need to first log in as Administrator. I believe I am the Administrator. I am the old user. My account shows me as the Administrator. What to do?
    Mike

There isn't a user called Administrator. If you have admin privileges, then you should be able to install the software. If you are the only user, then you should have admin privileges. You can look in the Account System Preferences for the checkbox that says "Allow user to administer this computer."
If you are the only user, then it should be checked and stay grayed out when you unlock the preference pane by selecting the Lock and entering your password.

  • Check if entered employee is member of the service group

    Hello,
in servicerequest i need to check if the maintained employee is member of the maintained service group.
    Any suggestions for this requirement?
Is there a function module to check with the employee ID in which groups this employee is assigned?
    Thank you
    Kind regards
    Manfred

    Hi Manfred,
You can use FM RH_STRUC_GET to achieve that. You can get an example in how to do that using FM CRM_EMPLOYEE_GETORGUNIT and puting an breakpoint at FM RH_STRUC_GET call. The problem with FM CRM_EMPLOYEE_GETORGUNIT is that it only returns one result, so you need to adapt to get multiple assignments.
If in your scenario, instead of employee ID, you can check with the User ID, you may use static method GET_ASSIGNMENTS_OF_USER of class CL_CRM_PPM_UM_TOOLKIT to get all the information you need.
Check if it helps you a little more.
    Kind regards,
    Garcia

  • How do I add myself to the "staff" group for a samba share?

    Hi all,
I've been struggling with this for a few hours now. I searched but could not find the answer (neither here nor google).
I am trying to set up a samba share on my raspberry pi and have it accessible by all other computer on my local network (just a home network). I want it set up so that when I access the share via my linux desktop I have read/write privileges, but when other users (my family, variety of linux and windows machines) access it they have read-only access and do not have to enter a password. I am not sharing any printers. The raspberry pi and my desktop are both running arch.
I am currently able to mount the share, but I only have read-only access. In the smb.conf file it has a pre-configured section for A publicly accessible directory, but read only, except for people in the "staff" group, which is the section I have tried to use. My user name on my desktop is 'gav', and I have created a user with the same name on the pi. On both the pi and the desktop I have added 'gav' to the staff group (using groupadd and usermod -aG).
On Windows machines: a Windows 7 desktop found the share and prompted for a password, I entered my password (as 'gav') and could access files, but read-only. A windows 8 laptop couldn't see it at all.
Here are some outputs of some things:
    testparm (on the pi)
Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf
    rlimit_max: increasing rlimit_max (1024) to minimum Windows limit (16384)

Consider using sshfs to mount your Pi from your Linux boxes.  It's much easier to configure and manage than samba.  It sounds like you already have your Windows machines mounting your Pi so Samba is doing its job in that respect.
More info on sshfs in the Wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sshfs
To help get you off the dime, here's a modified line from my fstab that I use to mount my Pi with:
    gav@PI:/mnt/backup /mnt/rpi/backup fuse.sshfs rw,relatime,user_id=0,group_id=0,allow_other 0 0
Subsitute my mount points with yours.
    For a password-less mount:
         ssh-copy-id gav@PI
after you've set up ssh and generated some keys on your client box.
Here are some relevant lines from the smb.conf file on my Pi that I use for my one Windows box in the house that might help you with your write permissions:
       security = user
      hosts allow = 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0
      guest account = gav
    ; And my share setup:
    [rpi]
       comment = Public Stuff
       path = /mnt
       writable = yes
    ;   printable = no
    ;   write list = @krb
    [torrent_dl]
       path = /mnt/video/torrent_dl
       writable = yes
       create mask = 0770
       directory mask = 0770
       guest ok = Yes
       case sensitive = No
       read only = No
    Hope this helps.

  • Becoming a member of the Privilege Group

    People,
I am using the PL/SQL packages wwsec_api and wwsec_oid to create and maintain users and groups. The problem is that I need some users to members of the "Privilege Group". This is described on the OID html interface as "Grant members full DAS privilege".
Problem is I can't find the Privilege Group anywhere. I'm not having any problems adding a user to the DBA group, PORTAL_PUBLISHERS group, or my own groups.
Does anyone know how to programmatically add a user to the Privilege Group?
    Thanks in advance
    James Hayward
    Cheers
    James.

    Yes to 1 thru 5
To access the account it is faster just to logout and login rather than rebooting.

  • How do I put myself in the staff group?

I have been trying to optimize my iMac 24 ever since I upgraded to OS X Lion.  Tons of SBBOD and general slowness.  I went through all the basics and things are much better.  This included booting in to the recovery partition and resetting my home folders permissions back to the defaults for Lion.  I did this because I noticed that the permissions on my stuff in my home folder still had me in the group that was identified by my username - a throw back to a prior version of OS X.
After running the procedure, here is what my home directory looks like:
    iMac24:~ hstan$ ls -l
    total 2032
    -rw-r--r--@  1 hstan  staff  518912 Sep 23 15:26 Apache Documents
    drwx------+ 13 hstan  staff     442 Dec 20 08:11 Desktop
    drwx------+ 62 hstan  staff    2108 Dec 16 15:14 Documents
    drwx------+  5 hstan  staff     170 Dec 20 08:09 Downloads
    drwx------@ 73 hstan  staff    2482 Dec 21 10:22 Library
    drwx------+ 19 hstan  staff     646 Nov 28 21:25 Movies
    drwx------+  7 hstan  staff     238 Mar 26  2006 Music
    drwxrwxrwx   6 hstan  staff     204 May 27  2008 News.framework
    drwx------+  8 hstan  staff     272 Oct 15 14:48 Pictures
    drwxr-xr-x+  6 hstan  staff     204 Sep 24  2010 Public
    drwxr-xr-x   8 hstan  staff     272 Nov  6  2010 Sites
    iMac24:~ hstan$
I did successfully reset all the permissions in my home folder to what Lion expects as above.  Popping a terminal, I ran the 'id' command and this what I see:
    iMac24:~ hstan$ id
    uid=502(hstan) gid=502(hstan) groups=502(hstan),401(com.apple.access_screensharing),12(everyone),33(_appstore ),61(localaccounts),80(admin),98(_lpadmin),
    100(_lpoperator),204(_developer)
How do I put myself back in to the staff group?  I know that I have to do it via the shell - just don't know to do it.  Also, once I do manage to put myself back in to the staff group should I delete the gid 502(hstan)?
I do admit that things did indeed smooth out after I reset my home folder to the default permissions.  Just stuck on this last bit of cleanup work.
    Thanks!

Realize this thread has been dead for a while, but I was running into permission problems on 10.8.0 and managed to find this fix. I can't remember when I last did a clean install, but it was before the transition to staff as the primary group, so the account is pretty old.
I used Directory Utility to change the primary group on my account (twillis) from twillis to staff as described. I then rebooted into the recovery partition and ran resetpassword to repair the home directory permissions and also rain repair permissions from Disk Utility. Finally, I used chgrp to manually change groups on some things like apps and frameworks that were in twillis (this looked like the right group to use based on context). Process went smoothly and worked as expected with one glitch.
I have now found a few situations where files are still created or changed to the twillis group. According to id I am no longer in that group (as I would expect):
    [twillis@elle] ~ 39 # id
    uid=501(twillis) gid=20(staff) groups=20(staff), 401(com.apple.access_screensharing), 12(everyone),
    33(_appstore),61(localaccounts),79(_appserverusr),80(admin),81(_appserveradm),9 8(_lpadmin),
    100(_lpoperator),204(_developer)
As an example, unzipping a zip file with the Finder creates files in the group twillis even if the zip file and its contents were in staff. Another example involves AlbumData.xml in the iPhoto Library package: I can chgrp it to staff, open Aperture, edit a picture, and quit and AlbumData.xml will be back in twillis on exit (doing a simlar set of steps with iPhoto though does not change it).
Should I have removed the twillis group with Directory Utility too (using the "-" button right under the left column of the window) --- twillis is showing up listed in Users&Groups too in a "groups" section after the accounts, so perhaps I can delete it from there too? Or is there some other state that is still associating the twillis group with the twillis account that I also need to change?
    Thanks,
    tw
