How to block spam email sender on iMac ?

You can setup a Junk mail filter in Mail preferences, it will still enter your mailbox but be under a Junk folder. You can then check and if required delete the mail.
In this web page note the option of applying the filter via webmail on an IMAP server such as iCloud.

Another option is a commercial filter for Mail, this one but I know nothing about this software, a google search will probably find others.

  • How to block an email sender?

I want to block emails from /pinterest/ they do'n have unsubscribe in mails.

    Hi Jugehu,
If you are using My Connect, you need to go into the Settings, select the Messages tab and then Rules tab as shown in the picture.
Alternatively, you may like to consider migrating your BigPond mailbox across to the new mail platform hosted on http://outlook.com. We have been migrating customers since February 2012 and customers can opt in at a time of their choosing rather than waiting for the automatic migration to occur.
Customers can use this link to request the migration but to prevent any issues with this request completing, make sure that the mailbox password meets the new requirements which is between 8-16 characters in length and containing at least one of each character type: lower case, upper case, numerals.
It is also recommended that any contacts stored within webmail are saved as sometimes are unable to be migrated across. Also, any emails within folders in webmail will be migrated to Outlook.com and placed in the Inbox which will trigger them to be downloaded again. I would recommend cleaning out any unwanted emails from webmail prior to submitting the migration request to prevent further duplication.
Once migrated, customers may need to log into OneDrive and accept the terms and conditions to complete the process.
Customers will also need to update each email program with the new settings which can also be found on the previous link.
One of the main benefits of the new mail platform is that it supports IMAP which means that all of the emails will be synchronised across all devices once configured.
The status of the mailbox migration can be checked using this link.

  • Blocking Spam Email

Greetings! Can anyone share how to block spam email on the iPhone? I have the spam email blocked on my pop email account but it is not blocking it once delivered to my iphone.

You should ask your email account provider why they don't have an adequate junk mail filter available at the incoming mail server.
The iPhone's mail client does not include a junk mail filter and even if it did, it wouldn't match the junk mail learned settings with the junk mail filter used with the email client on your computer.
With an IMAP account, you can store the account's junk mailbox on the server, which will be available and kept synchronized with the server automatically when accessing the account with the iPhone's mail client. Keep the email client on your computer launched and running actively checking the account for new messages - checking for new messages every 5 minutes. Any message that is marked as junk with the junk mail filter used with the email client on your computer and moved to the account's junk mailbox stored on the server will be reflected automatically when checking the account with the iPhone's mail client - all server stored mailboxes with an IMAP account are kept synchronized with the server automatically with each email client used to access the account.
So in effect, you have a junk mail filter available with the iPhone's mail client that is being handled with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account.
This is not possible with a POP account, which is designed to be accessed with a single email client only.

  • Blocking Spam Emails by subject name in Exchange Server 2013

    Hello Guys,
I need to know how to block spams by subject from Exchange Server 2013's Anti-spam/message filter.
In general, I'm using Exchange's anti-spam agents and configured spam blocking by domain name.. but I need to filter unnecessary emails by subject name also.

    Thanks a lot,

    Thank you for your question.
We could install Exchange 2013 edge server, then we could create item which block spam base on subject name in “Protection”, we could refer to the following link:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124701%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx
There is a another method, we could use transport rule to filter spam by subject name by the following link:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd351127(v=exchg.150).aspx

How do I block spam emails from getting into my received emails?

The iPad itself cannot do it.  It must be done at the server, i.e. by your email provider.

  • How I do ban a spam email sender?

I keep getting a spam email. I want to ban it but I can't seem to restrict it in mail preferences. Is there a way to ban a specific sender. The first letters of the address keep changing but the letters between "@"and ".com" is the same. Is there a way to stop mail from this .com?

Other than checking with your email provider, the only way is to create a rule with criteria from that sender. Since the address keeps changing, you will have to put only the specific parts that don't change (example: @spam.com). Set the actions to what you desire.
Note that this will apply to all emails with that address coming to your inbox. You might want to place a condition before that to exclude all people within your address book and select "all" conditions are met.

  • How to block unwanted emails in yahoo on my ipad without access to a computer?

I am deployed and I have only my iPad. I would like to block unwanted emails in my yahoo account. How do I do this?

Once they are marked as junk, any future emails from them will be sent to the junk or spam folder, thus I will still be receiving emails from them, they a just routed to a different location in my email. If this is correct, I would like to completely block the email address and prevent them from sending me emails versus routing them to my junk box. I appreciate your time with helping me on this matter.

  • How to block spam

I get lots of spam mail and cannot seem to find how to block it in my email.  I am able to sent it to a spam folder but there is no way to block any addressess.   Thoughts?

Who's your mail provider? I've got Google Mail at work and iCloud (Apple) mail for private use, and both do a pretty good job of filtering. That's probably the most robust solution, prevent the crap from getting accepted by the server.
If that's not an option and you're left with having to do the filtering at the inbox level, SpamSieve is a very lauded solution, but is not free ( http://c-command.com/spamsieve/ ). The free SpamAssassin was purportedly just as good, but is somewhat complex to set up and is probably not compatible with Mountain Lion yet ( http://spamassassin.apache.org/ )

  • How to block an email adress

How can i block a spam mail?

It isn't possible to block an email address with the iPhone's Mail client, and the iPhone's Mail client does not include a junk mail filter.
If the email account is an IMAP account that is also accessed with an email client on your computer that includes a junk mail filter and/or the ability to block an email address, block the email address with the email client on your computer or mark the received messages as junk so future messages sent by the email address will be blocked or marked as junk by the email client used on your computer for accessing the account. Leave the email client used on your computer for accessing the account launched an running actively checking the account for new messages. All server stored mailboxes with an IMAP account are kept synchronized with the server automatically with each email client used to access the account. Anything done in this regard with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account will be reflected automatically when accessing the account with the iPhone's Mail client.

  • TS2755 i need to know how to block someone from sending me txt/imessges and calling me. they have a iphone too so i have been told the only way to block them is to turn off my imessages and only recieve regular txt messages. is there another way to block

how do u block someone from sending imessages and txt and calling ur phone when they have a iphone also. I have been told the only way is to turn off my imessages and recieve regular text messages.. is there another way?? i have searched for apps and cant find one. neeed help!!!

There are no apps and that is not a feature of iOS.
iMessages are handled by Apple's own system, and there is no way to block a specific sender.
SMS messages and voice calls are handled by your cell service provider, so you need to ask them what blocking (if any) features they offer.  If the texts are just spam, you should be able to report them to your carrier and they can block that sender.  Other blocking options will vary from carrier to carrier, so call yours and ask them what they can do.

  • How to organize/configure email accounts on iMac

I'm a brand new Mac user, and I really would appreciate some opinions on how to efficiently organize/configure my email accounts.
-previously on Windows XP at home and work, I had an 'office email' address and and a family email address at home that I could access from both computers Iie: all mail went to both locations off the server). Now, I have the iMac at home with a subscription to MobileMe (which I also find a little confusing), the office laptop on Windows and I will have an iPhone in about a week.
My thinking is that I would like to be able to access both work and home emails on the iPhone, and now keep the home and work computers separate. Will this create too much redundancy on the iPhone? I'm just now sure how to best set this up, so I'm wondering what you other users out there do. Also not sure if MobileMe would be useful or best suited for this.
    Thank you,
    Rom

Since you already have Mobile Me, you can keep all your mail "there" (in the "cloud" as they say -out there on Apple's servers) and access it from any of your devices / computers, or any web browser on any computer at any time.
You don't need to "keep" your mail in any once place. Let Apple handle that, you can send & receive from your iMac, your iPhone, wherever. All your devices / computers will "sync up" with Apple's Mobile Me servers and keep everything up to date for you.
Also, if you have exiting accounts that you don't want to stop using, you can use Mail on your iMac and Mail on the iPhone to send & receive from any POP or IMAP mail account (I suggest IMAP -it's the kind that syncs mail where POP just downloads copies to whatever computer you happen to be on). You just need the appropriate server / login information.
For example, I have 4 email accounts for various reasons. 2 Gmail, 1 Mobile Me, and 1 on a domain name I bought (myname.com). ALL that mail is accessible on my iMac, my MacBook and my iPhone at any time.

  • How to block Spam text from random number

So, here's the story. I somehow (knowingly or unknowingly) touched & dialled a number from an adult content app and then hung up. Since that day, I keep getting text msgs from different numbers, with lewd text & asking me to call a number (constant across all these sms-es). I block the number using MyVerizon number blocking service; but in 2-3 days I get similar text, asking me to call the same number, from a different number. I keep on blocking this new number (from where the text came) and they keep on sending same text from a different number. This keep on increasing my text bill.
Is there any way to stop this nonsense?
If I reply to one of those texts saying "STOP", as the verizon customer care rep suggested, wouldn't that flag my number as LIVE and they'll start sending me more texts?
How about using sms blocker apps? Again, question there is - do the sms blocker apps just delete spam msgs upon receiving and will I still incur the sms cost in my bill?
Please advice. I'm totally frustrated about this...

As for app I can say that anyway texts are coming to your phone...I have got Call Control installed and I even wrote to their tech support. I got an answer that it is just impossible not to direct texts to your phone. And not one app does this. Yes, you will not see them if the number is blocked, but texts will be there.
In some situations it is even comfortable - if I block someone's number so that he or she doesn't call but still want to read texts)))

  • How to block OLD email from arriving in the Mail app?

Since upgrading to iOS 5 my Gmail account keeps filling with old messages. As fast as I clear them out more arrive. There are something in the order of 10,000 messages awaiting me apparently. How do I stop this? I want only new mail, not old mail.

My user is getting notified of a "suspected spam" message via IronPort.  I have
released 2 of these messages to her so that I can see what the message body says.  It is exactly what I posted in my original post.  The from field says"From: VIAGRA (c) Official Vendor [mailto:[email protected]] or From: VIAGRA (c) Direct Distibutor [mailto:[email protected]]
I've done a search and can't find any emails to anyone in my company with Viagra in the from field.  The message body says:
Having trouble reading this email? View it in your browser
I guess I could create a Content Filter for Message Body, but would I just put "Having trouble reading this email? View it in your browser"?
Do I need to seperate each word somehow?  When putting multiple words into a content filter, how do I seperate them, or do I need to seperate them?
