How to bring content into portal

Hi, I am new to the portal world. The company i work for has their own "intranet" site and I want to bring some content from our "intranet" site into the portal. How do I go about doing this?

You can do this in many ways.
One ideal way of doing it is by using an appintegrator.
You will be creating a system that points to the url.
Then you should be creating an iview to point to the system.
Then you can configure usermapping for this.

If you are directly using the url Iview then,you cannot access the content from outside the network.
You can also use a proxy in order to point to the intranet website.
A simple example would be to set up an IISproxy and create a web site(which can be accessed from outside).
This website will have pages which point to intranet content.This website url can be used in configuring a url Iview.

you can refer to the Microsodt documentation on the internet.
You can also use other intermediary servers,

Generate or import xml form content into portal

Hi, we have a content repository type "fsdb" in wich we have created a xml form to publish content.
Now we need to develope a program or process that read information from a database and generate the xml content in the repository,
How can we generate the xml form content?
I have tried coping and existing element of the repository from the file system and changing the data but something more is needed, I think that is necesary to update the database.
Any suggestion is welcomed.

I differred my theme, cause I also had to use and transport the xml-forms into another portal. For this reason I have to use xml-forms. I've found out how to modify the the content/text of an subscription-mail.
Is there any way to define different layouts for subscription-mails? (Maybe depending on the folder.)
Is there any way to send an e-Mail to a specified address (including the content) when saving the xml-form?

How to HD content into Apple TV

How do you HD video on the Apple TV?
What are users doing to do this?
(The only source I have see is the download movie trailiers (720p) via the Apple site)

Here is one way to get high quality HD content onto your AppleTV for little more than buckets full of your time and storage. (There are much more space efficient ways, but this is the easiest to document here.)
Programs Required: EyeTV 2 + ATSC Tuner (for recording HD OTA broadcasts), MPEG Streamclip, JES Deinterlacer, QT Pro
For 1080i Content
1. Record over the air HD broadcast via EyeTV Hybrid or something similar.
2. Using MPEG Streamclip output a QT movie using MotionJPEG or PhotoJPEG as the CODEC. You can also use MPEG Streamclip to scale down to 720i at this step. NOTE: Do Not deinterlace the footage yet!
This step creates a massive new file but the quality is stellar. (Ex. 23gb for one 22min 720p television show.)
3. Taking your newly created monster file, use this as your source file for JES Deinterlacer and choose “Inverse Telecine” as the project. JES Deinterlacer is a great, free tool that allows you to easily do an inverse telecine on many types of footage. This is the best way to convert 30fps footage back to 24fps. 24fps is also a requirement for QT Pro to keep HD footage at HD resolutions when using the Export to AppleTV preset. (I.e. Even if your footage is 720p it will downconvert to SD if the frame rate is anything other than 24fps or 23.98fps.) JES will create another gargantuan file of equal size and quality to your first file, but now it will be in perfect-looking progressive scan, 24fps. More detailed instructions on this tool are available in its help file.
4. Take your 2nd gargantuan file, and compress it via QT Pro using the AppleTV preset and voila, you have a great HD file that is just as good looking as any of the HD trailers on Apple.
For 720p Content

4. Take your last gargantuan file, and compress it via QT Pro using the AppleTV preset.
Be warned, this process can take hours even on a dual core processor Mac, but it will give you some shows and movie that will make your AppleTV shine.

Q1: I have a total of 24 InfoAreas in InfoProvider(Admn Workbench), but I do see only 7 of them in Open Query dialog box of BEx Analyzer. How do I bring in a particular InfoArea(and all related objects) into Open Query Dialog box.
Q2: I want to see all the queries in Transport Connection's Query Elements(for selection to transport). I have 7 queries in BEx, but I could see only 2 in Transport Connection.

Hi,
You can only see those for which you have queries created...to see all, click on the new query icon (blank page).
You can click on Select Objects and look for the other queries. The list is just like some 'history' viewing.

How to Integrate B2B into Portal(7.0)

Dear sirs,
I have installed a CRM 5.0(sp7) based on ABAP and JAVA. The JCRM is installed on the same WAS while the PORTAL(7.0) is installed on another WAS(different form the CRM WAS).
The ISA user management is based on CRM backend, which means that I can use SU01 to edit the B2B user.I also configured the PORTAL UME based on the CRM backend so that I can also edit the B2B user in the PORTAL user management. Now both B2B and PORTAL are based on the same user datasoure. Here is my first question:is this system landscape available for a company who want to use CRM B2B scenario? Because I once heard that EP and JCRM must be installed in the same WAS.
The second question is: When I want to make B2B pages available in PORTAL, is using the URL iview the only way?
For example, I want the URL:https://gwcrmdev:50101/b2b/b2b/init.do?scenario=B2BScenario&umelogin=NO displayed as an iview in PORTAL. I can't found any other way except using an URL iview. But I could see these parameters in the catagory of 'ISA B2B' of PORTAL system defination:
ISA B2B Description: GWB2B
ISA B2B Host Name: gwcrmdev.com:50101
ISA B2B Path: /b2b/b2b/init.do
ISA B2B Protocol: https
I don't know clearly about what use of those parameters. Because when I want to create an ISA iview(from template CRM generial IS iview), I can not find the system field to let me fill the alias 'SAP_CRM'. I also check the 'SHOP' iview in the PCUI package, and I can't find the 'SAP_CRM' too. When I preview this iview, it throws the Portal Runtime Error. Then there is the third question in my mind: How SAP make the iview 'SHOP' connect to the right B2B system? Is it the same problem that we must install EP and JCRM on the same WAS or you can't view the ISA iviews like 'SHOP'?

For the second question the answer is
After you create the CRM system object, Right click the system object and choose system alias. Then give a name for the system alias.
After doing this, When you create the iview it will ask for the system then you can select the system alias.

How to Bring Characterstics into COPA form & Report

HI,
I have created some user defined characterstics in COPA. I need to bring them in to COPA form & Report. Now in COPA form Creation, i am able to get those Charcterstics to select. But after selecting those characterstics - system is asking to select the Heirarchy from the hierarchy node.
Even those charcterstics are coming in KES1 transaction code. But when i double click them in KES1 it is giving error message this program doesnot support.
Kindly advise me how to fix this and how can i get the hierarchy details in COPA form.

Assuming you have deployed your webdynpro, you simply need to create webdynpro iView in portal.
Check this simple help documentation on how to create the iView

Once you have created the iView, create a role. Set the entry point of the role to yes.

How to bring Login.jsp under a html frame ?

hi all.
I have customized the Login.jsp and actually have lot of static content to be displayed in our proposed entry page.
I decided to use Html frames - something like the one below.
When i point on the frame to the Login.jsp ( i referred it as 'amserver/UI/Login') --> it loads all frames then redirects the page to the /amserevr/UI/Login -> the Login.jsp now occupies the entire screen and i c none of the html frames..
any idea how to bring in the portal Login.jsp under a html frame ?

Inserting HTML content into an animated DIV

Can you, and if so how, insert HTLM content into an EGDE animated Div box? Specificaly an HTML table? I can get the html code in the box but it won't read/render it as html code. In flash you can tell the program that the contents of the box is html code and it will read it as such but I don't see any way to do that here. I've tried several ways and I can get the code to display in the box but it won't render the code instruction in the boxCan it be done ??

Bringing TM into existing wireless network

I currently have basic DSL with a Westell modem/router that is attached to an Airport Express in bridge mode. I have ordered a TC that I expect to have tomorrow or Monday and after reading, I'm a bit confused as to how to bring it into the network.
My initial thought was to replace the AE with the TC, but everything is set to a WDS at the moment.
So now I'm thinking that just adding the TC to the mix will give me the backup I want, an external HD on it, as well as a printer and that will free up one of the AEs I now have for use on an older PowerMac G5.
That would be the easiest way, but would I be able to get the benefit of N from the iMac for the TM and HD access?
If I were to replace the AE that is now the 'base station' with the TC, would the best way to set it up be to make all the current stuff back to a non-WDS state and also change the config on that existing AE before I make the switchover.
Also, since the iMac is the only device in the mix that is capable of 'N' would I be better off just leaving everything in 'g' mode??
Frankly the docs and other things I read are making my head spin.

As it turns out, in my setup, the best way was to just re-do the network. I ended up freeing up 2 Airport Expresses and have my WDS working.

Bringing Quicktime into a Premiere Elements project

I notice you say "before you bring them into Premiere Elements.". Sorry if this sounds like a totally ridiculous question, but how about bringing them into Elements, converting them to AVI's in there, and then working on those AVI files. Is it necessary to convert them BEFORE letting them anywhere near Elements?

I too have had better luck getting all of my Assets in the correct form, Video and Audio, prior to Import into PE, or Pro. Convert outside with the proper tool,

Import.
That is why all of my Encore DVD Projects use only DV-AVI and AC3 files. They work flawlessly. Kinda' boring, but that's the kind of guy that I am. If I can do it blindfolded, there is nothing wrong with that. Sometimes, just for kicks, I see how quickly I can author a DVD with 0 errors.

then using GUI_UPLOAD, i have read file content into internal table. then i am proceeding furthur.
