TO get year, date, etc u can use the following functions

How to build a query to join on two tables without mapping

I did Automatic mapping by the workbench Directofield mapping with the table and java object.
Wanted to build a simple join query by joining on the same field on both the tables.Not the sql query through the toplink using expression builder.
Please help.............

This is the real query i was talking about.I did mapping automatically through the workbench,generated java classes also throught the workbench.
Now they don't want to execute the raw sql.They wanted to get all the RATING objects with the where condition.
So how to build a query by using toplink.
tried your example

I am getting java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
error.
I selected the option generate classes and descriptors
from the tables (RATING,REF).,so it created the classes and dscriptors automatically.
In Database script for the table RATING like this
ALTER TABLE RATING ADD (
CONSTRAINT RATING_F1 FOREIGN KEY (ID_C, ALPHA_C)
REFERENCES REF (ID_C,ALPHA_C));
I think when i generate descriptor automatically it is keeping this association.
Please help me.........

To build a Java class file (ie compile it) you need to call the Java compiler javac. There is software around to make this easier:
- ANT a make like tool but with XML files usually called build.xml
- Maven a more convention driven approach for much complexer systems
- IDEs like JDeveloper, Netbeans, Eclipse, you name it.

I need to create an sap ui app, which is monitoring our database behaviour (->transaction st06) is there someone who knows how to build a OData Channel with sap gateway service builder without importing a BOR- Object, or a DDIC?
Or how to build an OData channel which exposes the database (monitoring) data from ST06?
I would really appreciate if someone could help me.

Hello Joe,
If u do not want to import any Structure or BOR- Object, u can follow below steps :
1. Create ur data model by adding the properties manually in SAP GW service builder with correct Edm types.Doing this would be pain in my opinion ( sometimes we are forced to do this but no other option doing this way )
Create associations & navigation needed.
2. U can generate run-time objects.
3. Go to appropriate classes and implement methods with ur Business Logic.
4. Register ur service & consume.
U can also import RFC to create data model and create mapping as per required by implementing correct method as well.
once u do this generate objects and register service and consume it.

I am currently looking into how to build an application that allows other developers to implement an interface (say DictionaryProvider) and provide a jar file with this implementation and have my application automatically find all classes within a specific directory (under any jar) that implement this interface, instantiate an object and perform some operation on the object. I see in java 1.6 that there is a nice way to do this but I have not seen similar examples in Java 1.5. My basic question is how do I allow users to implement an interface and then at run time find all classes that implement this interface and instantiate an object of that type?

Although i have seen a few programs (that are platform specific) that will embed a small jvm into an exe with your class file, it is generally excepted that you cannot create an executable file using java. The JAR executable file is probably the closest your going to get

Unfortunately, it is not possible in Xir2 to create Webi reports from stored procedures.
Webi reports can only be created from Universe. So in Business Objects XIR3 we can create a special universe that enables Web Intelligence user's to access stored procedures residing in the database. This is the only way that Web Intelligence user's can access stored procedures.

The best way to do what you're asking is with the Composition widget. Start with the Tooltip preset, which, by default shows the info on rollover. You can change the option to show on click, which is what you're after. You can also add the close button or have the info disappear on rollout.

In the function module BBP_PD_AVL_CREATE , how to build the FM data I_HEADER and I_ORGDATA.
I'm giving 3 input in Export parameter in BBP_PD_AVL_GETLIST and E_pdlist should contain data .
but e_pdlist is not getting data...any suggestion..
after execution it was showing "Buffer table is not up to date"

say I have 3 tables:
1. Table_empl: idEmpl, fname, lname, dob...
2. table_department: idDpartment, idEmpl, departmentName, section...
3. table_fligths: idFlight, idEmapl, departure date, destination, carrier...I would like to provide the end-user a text box (in my GUI) where he can write whatever he would like to get info about. If, for example, he'll write: british-airways, I expect the system to search everything in the db that matches this input.
Question: How can I design such a search engine that retrieve information from every possible table in the db with reference to every column.

this is optional but i'd rather have one exec button and to return all possible results from the db. if (in the example i provided) it found 'british airways' in the carrier - than that a result. if it founds 'british' in the lname of table_emple - that's another result. so the output should be something like:
found 2 matches:
1. british airways, 10/10/2006, LHR
2. British, John, 12/01/63,
any idea how to build that?
