How to build an OData Service with Gateway Service Builder (NO DDIC, BOR import)

Hi Community,
I hope to get an answer here to finish my project. I´m a newbie to the sap gateway service builder. Please provide me a helping hand.
I have a problem I´m sure someone out there can help me.
I need to create an sap ui app, which is monitoring our database behaviour (->transaction st06) is there someone who knows how to build a OData Channel with sap gateway service builder without importing a BOR- Object, or a DDIC?
Or how to build an OData channel which exposes the database (monitoring) data from ST06?
I would really appreciate if someone could help me.

Hello Joe,
If u do not want to import any Structure or BOR- Object, u can follow below steps :
1. Create ur data model by adding the properties manually in SAP GW service builder with correct Edm types.Doing this would be pain in my opinion ( sometimes we are forced to do this but no other option doing this way )
Create associations & navigation needed.
2. U can generate run-time objects.
3. Go to appropriate classes and implement methods with ur Business Logic.
4. Register ur service & consume.
U can also import RFC to create data model and create mapping as per required by implementing correct method as well.
once u do this generate objects and register service and consume it.

I need to create a query with web service data control, in WSDL, it's query operation, there is a parameter message with the possible query criteria and a return message contains the results. I googled, but cannot find anything on the query with web service. I cannot find a "Named Criteria" in web service data control like normal data control. In Shay's blog, I saw the topics on update with web service data control. How can I create a query with web service data control? Thanks.

How can I authenticate and authorize with Web Service on ESB ?

I want to authenticate and authorize client with Web Service published
by HTTP/SOAP BC.
Simply if it is an Web Service as J2EE application, I will use
Basic Authentication with JAX-RPC and Realm.
But I think that Web Service published by HTTP/SOAP BC is not belong
to J2EE Application. Threre is no place to describe security role mapping
(like web.xml).
JBI 1.0 the section "5.5.1.1.3 Normalized Message Properties" comments
JAAS Subject is given in the NM Properties. Really in this package
com.sun.jbi.internal.security.*
implements JAAS autentication and authorization (at JaasAuthenticator).
But I can't see how to configure my Service to use this.
How can I authenticate and authorize with Web Service on ESB ?

Cannot register Analytic Services with Shared Services

Hello,
I have installed the following products of System 9.3:
- License server and Shared services (everything went OK, I can connect to User Management Console using admin/password );
- Analytic Services;
Using Configuration Utlity I activated Analytic Services.
But when I try to Register Analytic Services with Shared Services I get the following error "Incorrect username and password".
I don't know why I get this error because I can connect to User Management Console with admin/password.

I created the user demo/demo with admin privileges in Shared Services. I can connect to User Management Console, but when trying to register Analytic Services with Shared Services I still get "Incorrect username or password".

How to extract data from CRM with Data Service?

Hi all,
I'll try to explain briefly the main issue; We need to read or extract data from SAP CRM with Data Service tool, then we'll show the data with webi, but now I would like to know if there are some standard tool as a rapid mart (i mean that it doesn't exists) but if some one knows how it works and if it's possible, it could be very helpful for us.
BW option doesn't ok because the client needs a lot of queries for a report and the standard tool in our project is Data Service.

Hi,
Your very familiar with LO data source even though your getting doubts on it.
LBWE/SM13 belongs to only LO Data sources.
CRM data sources also have delta settings based on data source.
You can search on google about CRM data sources by using data source names.You may get some useful information.
Before using CRM Data sources, CRM functional team need to set proper configurations at CRM system. those also you can easily get form google.
use search term as " CRM - BW Adapter settings".
Like other standard data sources for crm also,
we need to activate from RAS5 and do the modification at RSA6.
test at RSA3 and replicate into BW. Do the rest of the flow at bw system.

I didn't find any option under EPMA in configuration utility(except deploy to application server) , how to get the remaining options . Did I make any mistake in downloading the software from edelivery. Why I'm unable to see the other options(cofig db, reg with shared services).. Basically where I will find the EPMA software.

Registration of Analytic Services with Shared Services

Hello All,
We are installing the Hyperion system 9.2 suite with Planning & Essbase.
Following advised processes, we installed analytic services & tried to register the product with shared services, using the configuration utility. Even though the operation is declared as "succeded", we are unable to provision any user to Analytic services in Shared services, which is a proof that the registration failed.
Is there any particular action to be done to get this operation succeeded?

Now the deal here is, iOS 6 is out now, so in order to complete the instructions and restore it with iTunes, you have to update to iOS 6. I decided to keep 5.1.1, so I did NOT restore the phone. I checked a couple IMEI checker sites, and they all said my IMEI was unlocked, so rather than use iTunes, I just replaced the AT&T SIM with an O2-UK SIM card I had when using my Android phone in England. I was pleased to see T-Mobile show up as my carrier when I turned the iPhone on, and in Settings, it shows O2 as the carrier instead of AT&T, due to the O2 SIM being installed. Then a moment later, I got texts saying what my remaining British £ balance is, since I had leftover money on the SIM from my last trip, and another text said "Welcome to America, have a nice trip!"
The phone isn't jailbroken or anything like that. It's still on 5.1.1 with the proper, working Google mapping. Never restored via iTunes. Never updated to iOS 6. Any SIM card works. No tricks or hacks. You don't have to restore the phone to complete the unlock.

Need help with Gateway / Services

Running a standalone OWSM install - 10g 10.1.3
We have been through the Gateway config and deployment several times.
Also have a test service registered to the gateway, however, no matter what we try, we continue to get a 500 Internal Server Error when attempting to access the service URL: Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response. Please consult the application log for details.
Which application log do I need to look at? The gateway log doesn't register any errors...
I'm sure I'm missing something, but I can't find it...

I'm not sure why or how, but it's fixed...
I set logging to 'FINEST' and restarted everything and suddenly it all started working as expected.
Set logging back to INFO and restarted - still working.
No idea why it would just start working...

Can I use my Flex Builder 3 Pro license with the Flash Builder 4 Install?

I have a Flex Builder 3 Pro license, which does all right for me (I have no business need to pay for the upgrade).
The problem is that I can no longer find a downloadable version of the Eclipse plug-in for FB3 anywhere on Adobe's site.
Does anyone know what my options are?
Is there a direct URL to a site where I can download FB3?
Or can I install FB4 and use my FB3 license?

You can find most of the old and new FB installers here:

As you probably noticed though, only the FB3 Update installers are posted there, and not the full installers. I checked around, and that was probably an accidental side-effect of changing the Trial Download link from FB3 to FB4 on that page.
We put the gears in motion for getting the full FB3 installers posted there too.

P.S. Your FB3 license won't work with FB4, but can be used to upgrade at a discount when the time comes that you're ready for that.

"full service" with no service (AT&T)

I have a 3gs and ever since the one of the file updates(I don't remember which one but it started the one before the mms update) I have been experiancing an annoying problem. Sometimes my phone will say it will have full 3g service when in reality it doesn't. I can not make/recieve a call, text or browse the Internet. Some times turining off 3g makes it work but it only fixes the problem rarley. So most of the time Turing on/off 3g doesn't do anything except makes the antenna signal say no serivce. This is despite other people with a 3gs having full 3g serivce. Rebooting it usually does nothing except saying no serivce. If I boot it without 3g it sometimes connects to edvo but usually if I turn on 3g after that it goes back to no service and I need to repeat the process.
sometimes the signal appears but without an edvo connection or 3g which also means no calls/texts or Internet.
Now this problem does not occur every day. Let's say it happens a hand full of times every month. Usually by my gfs house but it usually corrects it'self before I get annoyed enough to go to apple. Anyone have any ideas of what I should do?
Also has anyone else heard of this problem?

It's not a cell tower issue because it's happened to me in multiple areas in northern already. I ddi a reset of the network settings and it worked for about a minute on 3g but then it wouldn't connect. I tried resettig it a few more times but it still didn't work. So then I turned off 3g and I connected to edvo. Tried a few times to connect to 3g but still got no service.

I think the whole point is that you shouldn't need to have drive mapping to create your services, you should be able to connect to the db and get your vo's and services generated.
I don't believe that development should be done on a remote server, but you should be able to at least do introspection and even setup the localhost database without work arounds like vpn.

[Oracle Web Service Manager] Issues working with gateway

Hello,
Whenever we create a gateway which have a component id other then "C0003001" then we have to create its entry in "gateway-config-installer" and restart soa suite, Why its like that? Ofcourse we can not restart the soa suite on production.
Moreover, we created a second gateway, it was assinged with id "C0003003" (first one was having if "C0003002") , also we created its entry in "gateway-config-installer" and restarted soa suite, then it was observed that services with gateway C0003003 are working but services with gateway idC0003002 have stopped working. Does this means that only one gateway can be active at a given time?
Also on some developer machines, service urls provided by the gateway are not working (Page not found error occurs). What can be the possible reasons?

I have some doubt on registering with the gateway and an registering the webservice. I think you have done the same.
I specify my hostname and ports. I am working on Oracle SOA 10.1.3.3.0.

Component Name: - user defined gateway name or what?
Component type : - gateway
Component URL : I have doubt on giving this In my case If I give like this is it correct. http://DWH-34316-K2.wipro.com:7777/gateway
After this we will be registering a webservice.
In that it will be asking the following details.
service name : CallHelloWorld (In my case)
service version: 1.0
service description : user defined.
WSDL URL : --> Here how we must want to give. I have given the wsdl taken from the Enterprise manager console. I have taken it while we test the web service we will find the service decription and I clicked it and taken that it is working one.

After I all this and click Next and It will go to the Http messenger page and in this page in URL column the same WSDL url given is auto populated and save and commit this.
When I go to test page and paste the URL got from the Service WSDL Url and give submit query it is displaying the following error message.
Failed to read WSDL from http://dwh-34316-k2.wipro.com:7777/gateway/services/SID0003017?wsdl:WSDL not found
Please specify any other changes do I need make some changes in the server otherthan changing the Id in the gateway-config-installer.properties
Can you help on this please. It is somewhat urgent.

How to call web service with parameters?

I'm testing a distributed architecture where parameters are queried from an ODBC database, and a web service called with resulting parameters as input, returning a computed result to the integrated Crystal report. I'm unable to successfully associate the database fields with the web service parameters - the web service is always called with empty parameters. When I call the web service manually from CR by entering parameters, it works as expected. I'm using a sub-report with fields linked to the main report.
Has anyone done something like this / know how to correctly link database fields with web service parameters?

An update - I solved this problem as follows:
In CR Design view, right-click on sub-report object, select 'Change Subreport Links'. In the links dialog, transfer database fields into 'Field(s) to link to' list. Select a field in 'Field(s) to link to' and in 'Subreport parameter field to use' below, map the field to the appropriate web service parameter field in the dropdown.
Tested with version 11.5.8.826.
