How to calculate Maximum value in a single row in OBIEE?

Hi,
I have a requirement having 4 measures A,B,C,D ranked by period, P1,P2 for each branch.
The measures are ranked for these meaures by each period and now the output is as
Branch Name---> A for Period1-----> A for Period2------->Rank(A in Period1) ----->Rank(A in Period2)----> (and so on for other 3 measures)
Br1---->1000---->2000---->1----->2----> and so on
Br2----->600---->4000----->2----->1----> and so on
From the above output, I need to calculate the top3 ranks for each branch..ie., row wise i need to calculate the top3 ranks for each branch.
I tried using Evaluate(Greatest()) in OBIEE. But when i try to use Rank() inside Greatest(), the following error is thrown.
Can anyone help me in this? Is there any way to achieve the output?

Step : 1
Sort itab by <Field1> descending.
Just sort the internal table by the field.
STEP: 2
Then read the table at index 1.
Read table itab index 1.
ITAB-FIELD = MAX . " Max field will come in the first row of the internal table.

I can do it using union however that gives a performance issues with a large table. So I wish to do using in any other way using lead or something, but with the complexity about the data, I couldn't do it.
Can anyone please help me?

How to get the maximum/largest value in a single row?

I have a simple Pivot table view with dollars as the measure, months on the columns and accounts on the rows. I want to highlight the month that had the largest value. E.g. so if the dollar values for account Revenue are 10 for Jan, 11 for Feb, 50 for Mar and 0 for the rest of the months, then I want to highlight the cell with 50 green. So essentially I need to be able to identify the max value in a row in the pivot table.
If I add a max calculation, it returns the top value across all columns and rows. A Rank calculation also returns rankings across all columns and rows. How can I determine the largest value in a single row?

In general you have to go by level based measures. Just tweak it as max(revenue by Year)
Just do it in Criteria tab and see how it works and I thing rest you know how to do

How to refer a column value of a single row in conditional column display?

Hello,
does anybody have an idea, how i can refer a column value of a single row in conditional display of a column?
So my idea is, that a report has a column, which value is only displayed, when another column value of this row has a specific value.
I want to solve this problem with condition type: PL/SQL Function Body returning a boolean.
But I do not know how to refer the column value of each single row!

Here's a solution that, to me, seems easier to implement but, that's, of course, in the eye of the implementer.
Rather than using APEX to generate a link column for you, actually create the link as part of your SQL.

etc.
Test this out. You'll see that it works just like making a column a link using the column attributes.
Next, we'll change the SQL to use a DECODE statement to either display the link or nothing depending on what your criteria is. For example, let's assume you only want a link for active contacts.
select Decode( CONTACT_STATUS, 'A', '<a href="f?p=102:3:491847682940364::::P3_CONTACT_ID:' || CONTACT_ID || "><img src="/i/themes/theme_1/ed-item.gif" alt="Edit"></a>', NULL ) CONTACT_LINK, ...
etc.
This will not display the link in any rows in which the CONTACT_STATUS is not active, i.e. "A"

How to calculate acquisition value for specified day

Hi,
in my z program I have a problem how to calculate acquisition value for my asset for specified day.
Example:
I have asset created 8.7.2008 with TTYPE 104 (External asset acquisition) with value 5950.
30.11.2008 there is another TTYPE 272 (Retirement of current-yr acquis., w/o revenue) with value 950.
So BEFORE 30.11.2008 acquisition value is 5950. After is 5000. Is there any function module (or something else) in SAP system where I can send asset number and date a it return to me acquisition value for that day?

your suggestion means that I have to compute acquisition value by myself (sum all TTYPE 1** - sum all TTYPE 2**). So SAP does't provide such functionality (LDB ADA have it, because it can compute acquisitiob value for specific day)?

How to calculate total value in categories?

I know Numbers let you do subtotal in categories.
However at the end of the table, i want a nice total value in a single row that is not in under any category.
For example, Number's Home Inventory Template, when you want open a new file.
It has Master bedroom category and living room category with subtotals for each and total value below both categories. The total value itself is not in under a specific category. Note that C11 is blank yet Numbers does not create another category from that cell.
The sum formula is pretty simple too in that file. =SUM(total replacement value). However when i tried that, it includes its own cell and giving me error message.

You appear to be asking about an iOS device in the OSX iWork discussion, but this answer by work for you anyway. Note that the formula in the Total Replacement Value column Footer row is: =SUM(J)
Since the totals row, Row 12, is a Footer Row, a special type of row in Numbers, it isn't included in the sum. That's handy because then you can use =SUM(J) without row 12 being included in the range. If you explicitely include Row 12 in the SUM expression, you will get an error. For example, =SUM(J2:J12) written in J12 will fail.

Yes you can. Follow these steps:
1> Create the LOV (which you can create from another table, as you mention). and test it.
2> Now you create one ADF Table on the page.
3> Select the Table in staructure window > select af:column(the column where you want put you lov) > Inside the af:column, Replace the Uicomponent by the LOV(which you created in step-1)
4> Save & Run

ADF: How to get the attributes' values of one single row from a table?

Currently I have a table with 3 attributes, suppose A,B and C respectively. And I've added an selectionListener to this table. That means when I select one single row of this table, I wish to get the respective value of A, B and C for that particular row. How do I achieve this?
suppose the method is like:

What is the prolem you are facing if you split the single date param as two parameters say startdate and enddate?
If you pass as single string then you might have to split the same at reciever end.
Are you trying any thing specific?

How to allow multiple values in a single blank cell in WebI report

I am working in BO XIR2. I have a scenario as follows.
In a single cell (blank cell from template) i need to display multiple contact persons. When I drag the contact person name into the blank cell, I am getting an error: MULTIVALUE). Please let me know how to use a function so that I can show two or three contact person names in a single blank cell.
I tried to use Replace and Char function as follows to bring Carriage Return functionality to the cell.
Replace([Contact Person]; ";" ; Char(13)) but this did not work.

I know this thread has been answered. I recently came across a scenario where I happen to populate multiple values in a single blank cell(from templates). But the only catch being that if user enters multiple values for a prompt you can show them in a single cell eg: =UserResponse("Enter value(s) for Branch:"). would be the formula for the blank cell. Afetr the user selects three values say A, B,C, webi puts it in the format of A;B;C. in a single cell.
In your case try giving that as a prompt to the user or answer that multi prompt some how and when u use the above formula it should suffice your requirement.

Calculate maximum value of subarray while creating it using a case structure and shift registers

I have two 1D arrays that contain cyclical information (kind of like a sine wave). One that contains information on position in degrees and another that contains torque. I would like to calculate the maximum torque value each time the position is within a certain range (e.g. from 30-80 degrees). The ranges are repeated - that's why it is cyclical. I use the "in range" function, a case structure and shift registers to build a new array with values that fall within the range I specify - this was the easy part (see VI attached). I'm struggling with a way to calculate a maximum value for each subarray formed when values are "in range". Your help is much appreciated.

It's not really noise - it's more inconsistency. So a position output can run: 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 etc. OR, it could run: 21, 24, 32, 41, 44, 51, 59 etc. But, it is always cyclical.
Attached you will find a .csv file with the data arrays - I'm using POS (ANAT) degrees column (column D if you open in excel). There you also see torque in ft-lbs along with some other information.

Can you help me calculate usage value through measuring documents for equipment over a period of time.

To determine the usage value of a an equipment I had followed the following.
From table STPO, check if the material receipted belongs to a standard BOM (STLTY='S')
If yes, record the BOM (STLNR) and the BOM item node number (STLKN)
From PLMZ table, select the task list type (PLNTY), the key for task list group (PLNNR), the group counter (PLNAL), the task list node number for operation (PLNKN), if the record is not flagged for deletion (LOEZ)
From PLFH table, select the object type of the CIM resource (OBJTY), the object id of the resource (OBJID), the usage value (EWVGW) if the record is not flagged for deletion (LOEZ)
From CRVE_A table, select the equipment number (EQUNR)
The result of this selection will be all the tools which can be used for the production of the material receipted.
The measuring point for this or these equipment(s) will be selected from equipment number and EQUI table
The result of this selection will be all the measuring point to update.
Create new measurement document for the selected measurement point (transaction IK11)
Technically go as follows:-
MAT = material receipted
Select STLY, STLNR, STLKN from STPO table where IDNRK='MAT' and STLTY='S'
If results exist
Select STLTY, PLNNR, PLNAL, PLNKN from PLMZ where PLMZ.STLTY=STPO.STLTY and PLMZ.STLNR=STPO.STLNR and PLMZ.STLKN=STPO.STLKN

Insert into IMRG the new increment value (USAGExMAT) in field CDIFF
Remark: the field CDIFF is managed in floating point number, accurate to 8 bytes.
