How to call a portal component in a java program

Hi guys,
We need to add some more operation after user log into portal, thus we need to call a portal component after statement proxy.logon(null) from java program SAPMLogonLogic.java,
Any ideas how can we call the component directly?

We can access iview,page,role(pcd objects) thru APIs

may be u can use these APIs to do the task.

Hello can any one suggest me how to call a shell script from a java program that takes three parameters.
i have a shell script (msp_restore_gui) when i run this script in the command line in a RHEL5 ,SUSE10 and Debian machine it works fine .I even tested to call it from a java program and it also worked fine but when i used the same in a J2ee application where the user when clicks the restore button in a webserver this inturn sends the request to a java file named BackupManager.java where i call the shell script.But here it fails.Waiting for your suggestions.If you want i can put the code also here

Hi I am making an application for taking backup in sql automatically so i have created a dts package which is called by a stored procedure. Now the problem is that how to call that stored procedure in a Java program so that after running my java program i get my database backup.

Check whether your Stacks and SPs / Business Packages matched correctly with maintenance optimizer.
Got this error only once while implementing a new portal, it was due to a corrupted deployment, so probably some of the XSS JAVA Components got corrupted.
EDIT: "Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.sap.pct.crm.core.objectlinks.ObjectLinkGenerator" really looks like something with the JAVA deployment went wrong. Java Stack can't find a class definition in PBO... you haven't modified anything with NWDS/NWDI or have you?

Hi Hassan,
a portal component can be called directly through URL.
The general syntax to call the portal component (iView, page) is as follows:
<http/https>://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/<pcd_path_of_iview_or_page>
Replace all ":" in the pcd path by "!3a". Also replace all "/" by "!2f" in the pcd path in the URL.

If content on the producer uses portal client-side functionality (for example, OBN or other navigation related functionality) that is not available or supported by the consumer portal, then the content is not supported in an FPN implementation.

I´m working just with EP 7.01 (EHP1) (there´s not any ABAP System in the Portal Landscape).
I searched for PeopleFinder.xml in the server file system* (it´s the value of com_sapportals_wdf_ConfigFileName property) and nothing was found, so I think that´s the problem but I couldn´t find so much about it.

How To Call a Broadcasting Template within an ABAP program

I was wondering if anyone knew how to call the Broadcast template via an ABAP program so it will execute? The scenario that I have is we are doing validations via BW. We put the data (for conversion reasons) through validation rules and then load a data target. From this, there are 2 situations that could occur:
1) There are errors
2) There are not any errors
If #1 is true, then I would like to execute the Query Broadcasting Template that I have created. If #2 is true, then I would like to execute another process via the ABAP program. In the past, I was successful using exception reporting via reporting agent, since I was able to call that program but the report did not look good at all. Please let me know if there is a program that I could call in order to execute this broadcast that I have set up.

In the Backend Implementation class, in any method you can call multiple RFCs.
It will be the same way as you do for the single RFC call.
Following syntax is for your reference.
Get the JCO connection
JCoConnection connection = getDefaultJCoConnection();
JCO.Function func = connection.getJCoFunction("ZXXXXXXX");
set the import parameters
Execute it.
connection.execute(func);
get the data from export / table parameters
Now call the second RFC
func = connection.getJCoFunction("ZYYYYYYYYYY");
set the import parameters
Execute it.
get the data from export / table parameters
close the connection

Would be easier (however not always possible), to determine the functionality of this method and call that in your program. I mean, normally this method calls a BAPI, or function module (or a transaction). Have a look at the coding inside of the method, and try and use this.
