How to call sequence in LabVIEW by providing sequence file path.

Hi,
    Please provide me a solution to call sequence file from LabVIEW ActiveX API's by inputting sequence path to LabVIEW user interface.
Thank you

Here is a link that I gave some pointers on how to run an Open Sequence file via Single Pass.
http://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-TestStand/Direct-execution-of-the-sequence-when-UI-launches/m-p/2000819#M...
How are you launching this sequence, is the user selecting the sequence on disk?    Is it already open in a SequenceViewMgr control?
Would an operator interface be more applicable to your situation?
Thanks,

  • How can I print a LabView-Blockdiagram into a file?

    Hello,
    I'd like to print a Blockdiagram into a file to insert it into a

    does it automatically for me in LabView!)
    Thanks!

    Maybe installing a hpgl-driver and print to a file.
    Download the hpgl-graphics filter from microsoft (was included until
    Office 95 i think) and import it to the word-document.
    You'll lose the colors this way (as far as i remember).
    Use a postscript printerdriver to print to a file. Convert it to
    something, you can import to your application.
    Use a pdf-printerdriver. But I don't know how you can import graphics
    from pdf (a subset of postscript) to other applications.
    Print to PostScript-File, use ImageMagick's "convert" program to conver
    t
    it to something userful for you and import it.
    These are my ideas...

  • How to call inner class method in one java file from another java file?

    hello guyz, i m tryin to access an inner class method defined in one class from another class... i m posting the code too wit error. plz help me out.
    // test1.java
    public class test1
         public test1()
              test t = new test();
         public class test
              test()
              public int geti()
                   int i=10;
                   return i;
    // test2.java
    class test2
         public static void main(String[] args)
              test1 t1 = new test1();
              System.out.println(t1.t.i);
    i m getting error as
    test2.java:7: cannot resolve symbol
    symbol : variable t
    location: class test1
              System.out.println(t1.t.geti());
    ^

    There are various ways to define and use nested classes. Here is a common pattern. The inner class is private but implements an interface visible to the client. The enclosing class provides a factory method to create instances of the inner class.
    interface I {
        void method();
    class Outer {
        private String name;
        public Outer(String name) {
            this.name = name;
        public I createInner() {
            return new Inner();
        private class Inner implements I {
            public void method() {
                System.out.format("Enclosing object's name is %s%n", name);
    public class Demo {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Outer outer = new Outer("Otto");
            I junior = outer.createInner();
            junior.method();
    }

  • How to call a TOC of a  differant help file

    Hi,
    I have two help projects, I want to call the TOC of the
    second helpfile in the first. I got to know merging files will
    solve the problem, but is there any other options...

    The two CHM files must be in the same folder.
    I am not talking about merging the projects but merging the
    outputs, hope that was clear. The way it works is you tell Project
    A that it has a child project, Project B. Then whenever Project A's
    CHM finds itself in the same folder as Project B's CHM, they work
    as if they were one. If you update Project B, create a new CHM and
    put it in the same folder as Project A's CHM, then they still work
    as one.
    Create a couple of test projects, take a look at RH's own
    help and try it.

  • How to call a function defined in a JSP file into a servlet?

    Hi
    I have defined a JSP file with some functions in it. I am including this JSP file into other JSP files so that these functions can be used. Now is there soe way, that I can include this file in a servlet as well and use the defined functions in the servlet as well.
    Thanks and Regards
    Vikram

    I assume you have a function with OUT arguments because you need to return at least two distinct things from this function? The functions return value and this OUT argument, too. Right? For the sake of argument, let's say that you're trying to return a VARCHAR2 value and a NUMBER value from this function.
    Assuming that you cannot just wrap your existing function with a function that does not have OUT arguments, the first idea that pops to mind is to create an Oracle8 type that looks like:
    CREATE TYPE MYREC AS OBJECT (V VARCHAR2(80), N NUMBER);Then you could rewrite your function to return an instance of this MYREC type instead of having one return value and one OUT parameter.
    Then create a BC4J domain for this Oracle8 type (which will mimic its nested structure), and then you can just select the value straight-away in your view object.
    I just tried this idea with 9.0.2 production and it works.
    The Domain you create will have getV() and getN() accessors on it so you can get at the nested values in the MyRec domain "record" structure.
    The other way would involve building a programmatic view object that sources the data for your VO programmatically. If I think of anything else I'll post something here.

  • How should i set the baseURI when a db file path with a space

    if the db file in a path like c:\program file\myapplication,then i set the baseURI dbxml:c:\program file\myapplication ,some exception occur~what should i do ?
    thanks a lot

    The Base URI needs to be a valid URI, which means it cannot include the Windows '\' character at all. In your case, you should be fine using something along the lines of "file:////C:/program file/myapplication"
    (give or take a '/' or two -- I haven't tested this).
    It's a common for BDB XML users to confuse the argument to create/openContainer() (a filesystem path) with the Base URI (a URI). The meanings and requirements are different. The best thing to do is to set and use a container alias (XmlContainer::addAlias()) to use in your queries.

  • How to call a labview dll from excel-VBA?

    How to call a simple Labview DLL from Excel VBA?
    I have seen examples of DLL calls from VB but does it work the same way for VBA? I have 2000 excel and Labview 8.5. I created the DLL and tried to call it from VBA using the same type of code as in NI's website example(ofcourse its a bit diff with 8.5)
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/...
    BUT it errors out when called from excel
    ERROR: The object invoked has disconnected from its client

    You would need to provide more details about the LabVIEW DLL, such as the prototypes of the functions (VIs) that you're trying to call, and your actual VBA code. Specifically, what object you're trying to create. You should also make sure the Run-Time Enginer is installed, as well as any required libraries such as the VISA Run-Time if you're using VISA. Have you made sure to enable the ActiveX server for the DLL?

  • How to call a sequence in a new thread from C++ dll

    Here is what I am trying to do:
    I implemented a dll that monitors network traffic, and it also supports message handlers that can be triggered when a specific message has been received. Essentially the receipt of a message is like an event causing additional code to be executed. What I need to do is have the message handler in the dll call/execute a sequence (either is the same sequence file that originally called the dll, or in a different sequence file). Also I want the sequence to be executed within the same execution object for the purpose of result collection and report generation. I am expecting the dll to have to launch a new thread to call a sequence because of the asynchronous nature of the message received event.
    There are easier ways to achieve the same result, but one of my goals is to make it easy for a test developer to configure a message handler, by having only one step in their sequence to configure the message handler. I want the rest to be transparent to the user.
    I am unsure about how to implement this feature, so I am asking for any examples, ideas, comments before I start trying things out.

    Assuming that I understand your question correctly, it would seem to be the best way to do this would be to pass the Execution object to the DLL (either through a direct pass of the Execution object or passing the sequence context, from which you can get the Execution).  Then simply call Execution.NewThread, specifying the SequenceFile object (accessible from Engine.GetSequenceFileEx) and then passing the Thread object out as an output.  Your sequence file in which your DLL is called could then simply have a Wait step which is configured to wait on that Thread object.  What happens in this case is that the results are collected for that thread (which is being executed asynchronously) and returned as the results for the Wait step.
    Although you are probably not using LabVIEW, I have attached an example of this in LabVIEW that might be helpful just for seeing the flow.

  • How to call a dll with special parameters in Labview?

    Hi,
    I have a dll file (compiled in C++) and I would like to call the individual functions from this dll file.
    I do not know however, how I must correctly define the initial parameters in LabView.
    That is the function, which I would like to call:
    DWORD OpenDiagDriver ( char* port,
    LPCSTR path,
    CANObjects CANObj[],
    WORD BitTiming = 0x4167);
    CANObjects CANObj[] is a pointer to array with CAN configuration data
    typedef struct
    DWORD Ident;
    BYTE Config;
    }CANObjects;
    CANObj[0].Ident= 0x18DA0000;
    CANObj[0].Config= 0x8C;
    CANObj[1].Ident= 0x18DA0000;
    CANObj[1].Config= 0x84;
    WORD BitTiming= 0x4167;
    I made a vi, but it doesn’t work.

    Hard to say without the full C source. Are you building the DLL according to the CIN rules (see Using External Code in LabVIEW)? Mapping clusters to C code in DLLs is not a simply process and we generally recommend to create wrappers. However, since your structures are fairly straightforward, you could use the "Adapt to Type" as you are trying to do.
    I recommend checking out the mentioned manual and also the examples in \examples\dll\data passing\Call Native Code.llb and the associated C files.

  • How to eliminate an instance of "entering a sequence call" from the teststand report

    I am using TestStand 4.2 and I am using a long sequence with several sub-sequences.  In these subsequences I am getting test results that I would like to place in the TestStand report.  Currently, in order to do this I have to check the "Record Result" option in the "Run Options" of the sequence call properties which displays an "Entering sequence call" mark on the report.  Is there any way that I can get rid of this marker and still record information from the sub sequence?
