How to (can I?) debug EJB called from ABAP?

I have developed a small bean that I am calling remotely from ABAP.  I have done the development work in the WebAS 6.40 Sneak Preview NetWeaver Dev. Studio.  I cannot figure how (or even if it's possible) to debug this bean.
I have followed the instructions on debugging referred to elsewhere in this forum, but I'm hung up at the point where I'm to create a debug configuration.  E.g., what kind of configuration should I specify?  (EJB is not one of the choices.)  If I try any of those that <i>are </i> available, I always get to a point where it says that it can't connect to the JVM.  Well, that's not what I'm trying to do, is it?
Has anybody successfully done such debugging?  If so, can you get me past this sticking point?
Thanks...

Hi David,
prerequisite to use debugging is, that the server you want to connect to runs in debug mode:
Open "Window->Show View->Other->J2EE->J2EE Engine". The configurated J2EE engine is displayed. Use the context menu of the "server0" entry to "Enable debugging of process". The server restarts then. If it's (already) running in Debug Mode, this is visible on the right side "Debug Mode = ON".
I suggest to define a "Remote Java Application" configuration like this:
Name: Whatever you like
Project: The project containing the classes to debug.
Connection Type: Standard
Host: Hostname or IP of J2EE server host
Port: 50021
Choose "Apply" and "Debug".
Set breakpoints for example by double-clicking on the frame on the left side of the Java editor (or using the context menu -> Add Breakpoint there). There's a very good documentation about debugger usage in the NWDS online help.
Trigger the remote call from the ABAP system. As soon as a line with a breakpoint is hit, the debugger displays the line and stops the active thread.
Hope that helps.
Regards
Stefan
PS: As soon as you don't need debugging any longer, disable debug mode of the engine, since it slows down everything.

    Oh, you have to get the iPhone app.
    Seriously, though .... you are aware that it's not a telephone, right? Any calls you make will be using VOIP and any of the apps and/or services (Skype, Google Talk, etc., etc.) which support that. Some of those are US-only, all have various restrictions and cost structures.

    If you just don't want to see the call notification on your home screen go to Settings, Notification, Phone and turn Notification Center to Off.  Or you can simply select None and calls will be listed in the Notification center but you won't see a banner / alert on the home screen.
    This also eliminates the Caller ID from being displayed before you answer the call.

    I would suggest that post-routing should not be used. The way to go is to use translation routing applications. Although post-routing is easy to set up, almost all deployments require translation routing. I can't think of anything good to say about post routing, other than it's trivial to configure.
    You want the main route point to be on the CM_PIM.RC for a number of reasons. You can check to see which of your IVRs are on line, and/or to do load balancing. If calls don't need to go to the IVR if agents are ready, you can have an LAA Select node immediately, and then translation route. Even if you just have one IVR, translation routing will enable you to do RONA more easily.
    You need to bite the bullet and learn translation routing. If you do it that way, peripheral variables attached to the call remain unaffected whether the call is under the control of the CM_PIM.RC or the IVR_PIM.RC. This is exactly what you want.
    There is no need, in my opinion, to go to an external database. In your IVR, decisions made by the caller (e.g. which "skill" they want) set peripheral variables. When the call comes out of this script you check the peripheral variable, and depending on the value do a queue to the appropriate skill group and run external script (BasicQ.aef).
    Separate the intelligence gathering IVR script from the Queuing script. Allow ICM to make the routing decisions.

    The following quotation is from Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity
    There is more information in the link, including supported hardware and that you must have Settings > FaceTime > iPhone Cellular Calls set to on on the iPhone.
    Phone calls
    With Continuity, you can make and receive cellular phone calls from your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac when your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network.
    To make and receive phone calls, here's what you need:
    Sign in to the same iCloud account on all your devices, including your Mac.
    Your iPhone and your iPad or iPod touch need to use iOS 8 or later. Your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
    All devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
    All devices must be signed in to FaceTime using the same iCloud account. This means any device that shares your Apple ID will get your phone calls. Look below for instructions on how to turn off iPhone cellular calls.
    Wi-Fi Calling needs to be off. Go to Settings > Phone. If you see Wi-Fi Calling, turn it off.
    Make a call
    To make a phone call on your Mac, iPad or iPod touch tap or click a phone number in Contacts, Calendar, or Safari.

    I have ipad 2. Safari stopped working. Screen appears with light gray cover and is frozen. Some websites show errors when debug is on.
    But how actually can I debug or fix it? Thank you.

    Here are a couple suggestions:
    1.  Go into Settings > Safari and Clear Cookies Clear Cache
    2.  Fully close Safari:  from your home screen, double tap your home button and the most recently used Apps will show up.  Hold your finger on the Safari App until all Apps start jiggling.  You'll see a minus sign on the upper left side of Safari.  Touch the minus and Safari will fully close.  Touch your home button again to stop apps from jiggline, then touch your home button again to return to your home page.
    3.  Reboot your iPad:  Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart, but no data or settings will be lost.
    After iPad comes back up, try Safari again, and you should be good to go.

    I updated from iOS 7, and now it shows only the contacts and under contact it's only the time of the last call that was with that particular contact.
    Tap on the "i" at the right of the contact. You'll see the other calls that are grouped in that entry.

    Let us assume you have all the data from the jsp form in an java bean object..
    Now you want a xml file. This can be acheived in 2 ways
    1. Write it into a file using java.io classes. Say you have a class with name
    write("<name>"+obj.getName+</name>);
    bingo you have a flat file with the xml
    2. Use data binding to do the trick
    will recommend JiBx and Castor for the 2nd option

  • How we can automate the data loading from BI-BPC

    Dear  Guru's
    Thanks for watching this thread,my question is
                  How we can load the data from BI7.0 to BPC.My environment is SAP-BI 7.0 and BPC is 7.5 MS version and 2008SQL.
    How we can automate the data loading from  BI- BPC Ms version.Is manual flat file load is mandatory in ms version.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Srinivasan.

    Here are some options
    1) Use standars packages and schedule them :
        A) Openhub masterdata file into a flat file/ BPC App server  and Schedule the package - Import Master Data from a Data File and  other relevent packages.
    2 ) Using Custom Tasks in Custom Packages ( SSIS)
    Procedure
    From the Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence Developer Studio, open the Microsoft SSIS folder.
    Create a new package, or select an existing package to modify.
    Choose  Task  Register Custom Task .
    In the Task Location field, browse for the target .dll file.
    Note
    By default, the .dll files are stored in BPC/Websrvr/bin.
    End of the note.
    Enter a task description, select an appropriate icon, then click OK.
    Drag the icon to the designer window. Enter data as required.
    Save the package.

    hi!
    Define the logical system names in both the systems.
    Logical system names :SAP001
    SAP002
    SAP001 FOR 001 CLIENT
    SAP002 FOR 002 CLIENT
    These two logical system definitions should be present in both the systems.
    Assign the logical systems to the client. (in both the systems)
    Assign SAP001 to 001 CLIENT
    Assign SAP002 to 002 CLIENT
    you can See these in transaction SALE.
    After this define the rfc DESTINATION IN sm59. (in both the systems)
    In 001 client create the RFC destination name SAP002
    In the tab log on security, give the user name and password and client of the 002 client and save it.
    Similarly do the reverse in the 002 Client.
    In 001 client create the port.(Transaction WE21)
    Specify the RFC destination name as SAP002.
    Now you can define the ports, (both the systems)
    Create the partner profile for partner(ie gve logical system name of partner) , so give as SAP002.
    partner profile in both the systems.
    Now create the distribution model in BD64 and goto edit>model view>distribute.
    The same model view will be visible n distributed to the partner system also..which in this case is sap002.
    U may trigger the idoc from we19 and chk its status in we05.
    Please let me know if you need further info on this.

  • How we can populate the form data from 2D barcode

    Hi All,
    Can anyone tell me how we can populate the form data from 2D barcode, will this can be done through script(javascript)?.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Faisal Afzal

    I was hoping someone could put me in the right direction here. I am basically doing the same . I am decodeing the information stored in a 2D Bar code and sending this information to an XML file, then I am trying to combine that xml file with a blank PDF template but the process is failing beacuse there are some additional tag fields the XML data from the  Decode->Extract XML process.
    The XML file from the decode process gives the structure below..notice therer some extra tags (lines 2- 4)
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xdp:xdp xmlns:xdp="http://ns.adobe.com/xdp/" xmlns:xfa="http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-data/1.0/">
    <xfa:datasets>
    <xfa:data>
    <form1>
    The XML structure that is expected by the PDF template is as follows
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <form1>
    So the xml output of the Decode barcode + Extract XML process has three extra lines of tag. Is there a way I could use a process within liveCycle to clean out those three lines in real-time before sending the xml to be recombined with the PDF template.
    Thanks

    > But if the object is maintained in SU24 and if you use Expert mode for generation of the role then again those objects may be pulled.(make sure you never use expert mode once you delete the objects)
    Actually using expert mode and choosing 'edit old status' is the only way to avoid objects being 'pulled in' after menu changes.
    > As jurjen said, you may download the tables and instead of deleting the object from the excel sheet, change the value of the object in column "DELETED" = X, by doing this only the objects get inactivated(but remain in PFCG).
    I am not speaking of downloading tables but about downloading roles from PFCG. This will not get you a spreadsheet but a flat textfile. If you whish to set the object status to deleted you'll have to swap the space on position 207, right behind the 'U, S, G' flag,  with an 'X' for all corresponding lines.
