    Are you going to create a Z table for this ???? ... Is there nobody to advice you in your firm ???
    Hello Keshav,
    A couple of years ago i would have recommended using the INDX table, but it has got it's demerits.
    Maintenance of Z-table is easier than the INDX table. Say there is some error in the program & you want to override the flag. Will it be easier to do so in the INDX table or via SM30 for the Z-Table?
    As a matter-of-fact i will recommend using the solution provided by Florian the TVARVC technique.
    1. Create a parameter(specific to your program) & transport it.(See the trxn STVARV)
    2. In your program check the value of this param & set it accordingly.
    Using TVARVC you will 2 birds with one stone:
    1. You don't have to create a custom table.
    2. Easy maintenance via STVARV trxn.
    Hope you get the point!
    Cheers,
    Suhas
    PS: In our system we have a Z-table designed specifically for this particular purpose. All the programs having this kind of requirement refer to this table.

  • How to select records from Interactive Reports based on checkboxes

    Referring to the link below
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:95
    I want to select rows from the Interactve Report based on a checkbox. This demo page has 2 sections, one for classic report and other for interactive one. The classic report is able to select the whole records but the interactive report selects only the emp nos. I am looking for a functionality where I can select the whole record from the interactive report.
    Any pointers will be helpful.
    Thanks

    That is easy. You should just modify the query:
    DECLARE
       v_count   INTEGER := 0;
    BEGIN
       :p95_text_ir := NULL;
       FOR i IN 1 .. apex_application.g_f20.COUNT
       LOOP
          v_count := v_count + 1;
          FOR c IN (SELECT ename, job, mgr, sal, deptno
                      FROM emp
                     WHERE empno = apex_application.g_f20 (i))
          LOOP
             :p95_text_ir :=
                   :p95_text_ir
                || 'ID: '
                || c.empno
                || ' / '
                || 'Name: '
                || c.ename
                || ' / '
                || 'Job: '
                || c.job
                || ' / '
                || 'Manager: '
                || c.mgr
                || ' / '
                || 'Salary: '
                || c.sal
                || ' / '
                || 'Department: '
                || c.deptno
                || CHR (10);
          END LOOP;
       END LOOP;
       :p95_text_ir := :p95_text_ir || ' / Records selected: ' || v_count;

  • How to capture the selected values from module pool dialog list box !

    Hi experts,
    Can anyone help me out in capturing the values from the list box.
    i am able to set the values in the list box.But i am not able to capture the selected value from the list box. Always the list box name is getting as "space"
    I also tried in using the FM "VRM_GET_VALUES" but it is retireving all the values. Is there is any flag for filttering out the selected value.
    Your inputs are appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Vijay.

    Along with the PBO and PAI event, add a POV event in the flow logic of the screen
    DEMO_DROPDOWN_LIST_BOX -is a good demo example.
    PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST.
    FIELD structure_name-field_name MODULE create_dropdown_box.
    In the report :
    MODULE create_dropdown_box INPUT.
      SELECT carrid carrname
                    FROM scarr
                    INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE itab_carrid.
      CALL FUNCTION 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'
           EXPORTING
                retfield        = 'CARRID'
                value_org       = 'S'
           TABLES
                value_tab       = itab_carrid
           EXCEPTIONS
                parameter_error = 1
                no_values_found = 2
                OTHERS          = 3.
      IF sy-subrc <> 0.
      ENDIF.
    ENDMODULE.
    In the layout, assign a Function Code , for eg : 'SELECTED' to the listbox and lets say name of the field is SDYN_CONN-CARRID. So in the PAI module,
    MODULE user_command_0100 INPUT.
      CASE ok_code.
        WHEN 'SELECTED'.
          MESSAGE i888(sabapdocu) WITH sdyn_conn-carrid.
      ENDCASE.
    ENDMODULE.
    sdyb_conn-carrid will contain your selected field

  • Using Standard Windows Select Methods On Interactive Report

    I have an interactive report. Right now I have a check box on each row to select the row. However, this means to select 10 rows you have to click 10 times. I would like to make it possible to use standard Windows select methods - click first row, hold shift key, and click 10th row to result in 10 rows selected. I haven't found how to do this in Apex but I assume it is possible. Thoughts? I googled but maybe not looking for the right thing as I find lots but not what I am looking for.

    Hi,
    you could do something like this:
    1) Create IR report like
    select
      apex_item.checkbox(1,empno,'UNCHECKED') foo,
      "EMP"."EMPNO" as "EMPNO",
      "EMP"."ENAME" as "ENAME",
      "EMP"."SAL" as "SAL"
    from
      "EMP" "EMP"2)In you page properties put following code in
    a)Function and Global Variable Declaration:
    In this code I reference f01, because in select I use apex_item.checkbox(1,......
    function isKeyPressed(event)
      var target = event.target ? event.target : event.srcElement;
      if (target.name=='f01'){
        if (event.shiftKey==1){
          i_start = -1;
          i_end = -1;
          i_swap = -1;
          end_val = target.value;
          cb = document.getElementsByName('f01');
          for (i=0; i <= cb.length - 1;i++){
            if (cb.value == end_val)
    i_end = i;
    if (cb[i].value == start_val)
    i_start = i;
    if (i_start > i_end){
    i_swap = i_start;
    i_start = i_end;
    i_end = i_swap;
    for (i=i_start; i < i_end;i++){
    if (cb[i_start].checked == true)
    cb[i].checked = true;
    if (cb[i_start].checked == false)
    cb[i].checked = false;
    else{
    start_val = target.value;

  • Select list within interactive report.

    Hello y'all,
    I have a need to develop an interactive report and am lost in how to proceed. I am asking for your help. The report requirements are as such:
    - There are 3 types of records that will be in the report
    - The is a checkbox to associate the records to a particular event.
    - If the record is of a certain value, 3 of the columns in that record have to show as select lists.
    - The records with the other 2 values should not have the select lists, just show a null in those columns.
    - The checkbox must be checked for the select lists to appear.
    - The select lists are based on a list of values. The values are populated with an existing common function used in many of the application pages.
    I am having no success in trying to get the select lists in the report. Has anyone developed an interactive report that uses select lists within the report? Is this even possible?
    I am using application Express 3.2.0.00.27. Any help that you can give is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
    *** Got it. It has to be a tabular report with updateable columns. ***

    Hi,
    I am not sure if the "equal to" condition applies to a DOM object... after all, a DOM object can be anything (any HTML element) not only a field.
    Try using a javascript expression instead, like this:
    $v('P6_IR_SELECT_LIST')=='Delete'UPDATE: Sorry, I just tested and "equal to" condition works for DOM objects... should have tested before posting!

  • Checkbox (check all) in interactive report behaves not as expected.

    I have created an interactive report with one column being apex_item.checkbox (1,key,checking_expression).
    To be able to check all rows, I have put the following code in the column's heading field:
    <input type="checkbox" onclick="checkAll(this)" value="1" name="x01"/> (code got with Firebug from automatically generated tabform).
    Well, the checkbox in heading checks/unchecks itself OK, but then, instead of checking all rows, a standard interactive column menu drops with sort/select value options.
    I presume, I am missing something. But what?
    Igor

    Looking with Firebug at at the generated code, I see the following:
    div id="apexir_SEL_YON" style="text-align: center;" onclick="gReport.controls.widget(this.id)"
    <input type="checkbox" name="x01" value="1" onclick="checkAll(this)"/>
    /div
    How could I patch away this onclick trigger?

  • How to use multi select in a query report

    I defined a lov. This lov retuns name and a id. I want to use the result of this multi select in my query.
    I always get invalid number when I choose two items of the select. When I debug I see that the return value of the multi select is 1:2. How can I change the seperator : in , I tried the following but this does't work.
    if :P26_PRODUCTTYPE IS NOT NULL then
    l_sql := l_sql ||' and producttype in
    (REPLACE(:p26_producttype,'':'','','' ))';
    end if;

    as you're finding, multiple values selected from html db multi-select list items (and checkboxes) are stored as a single, colon-delimited string. i explained an easy way to handle this via pl/sql in...
    Multiple select list
    ...that post shows you how to throw the selected values into a pl/sql table and step through them as needed. it also showed how to use an instr to parse through the string if you want to go that route. you could use that same instr logic right in your sql query. so let's say your lov for your multi-select item (P1_MY_MULTISELECT, we'll call it) was defined as...
    select ename, empno from emp order by 1
    ...and your user selected KING, FORD, and JONES. :P1_MY_MULTISELECT would store those values as...
    7839:7902:7566
    ...you could then write a query to return the selected enames with something like...
    select ename, job
    from emp
    where insrt (':'||:P1_MY_MULTISELECT||':',':'||empno||':') != 0
    ...hope this helps,

  • How to send a conditional email with interactive report subscription

    Hi,
    i have an interactive report with subscription.
    I would like to send an email with the attachment only when the query returns one or more records.
    How to to this?
    Apex 4.0.2
    Thanks in advance
    lukx

    Well, to understand your requirements can I ask this:
    You said earlier you want a report sent whenever records that meet a criteria exist, correct? So you want the application to query for a condition, and when that condition occurs (a row with primary Key = X, a select COUNT(1) for rows with column X returns a result of 1 or more)
    Then you would schedule a batch job:
    BEGIN
    -- Job defined entirely by the CREATE JOB procedure.
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.create_job (
    job_name => 'Send_Email_Procedure',
    job_type => 'PLSQL_BLOCK',
    job_action => 'BEGIN Test_For_COND_SEND(); END;',
    start_date => SYSTIMESTAMP,
    repeat_interval => 'freq=hourly; byminute=0',
    end_date => NULL,
    enabled => TRUE,
    comments => 'Job defined entirely by the CREATE JOB procedure.');
    END;
    This would in theory run hourly and run your test_for_cond_Send process, in which you would test for the condition and send an e-mail if it was found that would contain the results from your query/report.
    Here is a link to generate a PDF report that could be sent via e-mail: Re: how to save pdf in APEX 3.0

  • How to introduce blank line separator in Interactive Report

    Hi,
    I've an Interactive Report that shows date-ordered records (game fixtures for our local Ice Hockey team).
    I'm using highlights and filters to make the output more "meaningful".
    Any advice on how to introduce a horizontal blank-record "gap" in the data to separate the rows of output please?
    I know I can use the "Break" feature, but its not that pretty in this circumstance - it looks like overkill.
    All I want to do is to deliniate the fixtures that occur in separate weeks.
    The current list of fixtures is viewable via: [http://fixtures.naihc.co.uk/apex/f?p=1:2|http://fixtures.naihc.co.uk/apex/f?p=1:2]
    I've created a hidden column that calculates the Week of the Year: a simple to_char(faceOff, 'IW') wrapped inside
    a "to_number" for sorting purposes.
    If you look at the output, its not that blindingly obvious which fixtures happen on which week - a simple horizontal
    line gap when the week changes would look nice.
    Some sort of SQLplus "break on weekOfYear skip 2" or so.
    Thankyou in advance.

    I've created a hidden column that calculates the Week of the Year: a simple to_char(faceOff, 'IW') wrapped inside a "to_number" for sorting purposes.Won't that give you a problem when viewing a period of a season that spans 2 calendar years? The weeks from the later year appear before those in the first year:

  • How to open a link in an interactive report?

    Hi all,
    we have an interactive report which displays in one column an url.
    If the url is formatted like this 'http://www.test.com', the link can be opened within the interactive report, when it is formatted like 'www.test.com', without the 'http', it can't be openend.
    Is there any possibility that links with 'www.test.com' can be opened as well from the interactive report or do we have to mass update this column on database side?
    Thank you very much!

  • How to sort a average in the interactive report

    I have a interactive report. The columns are candidate_name, reviewer_name, score.
    each reviewer will have a score for a candidate. There are many candidates. My boss wants to know which candidate get the highest average score. I build an interactive report.
    I can average the score for each candidate_name and break with this column. I don't know if we can sort the average score for each candidate_name column. If we can, how to do this.
    Thanks a lot!

    Not sure if you got an answer for this, but the only way I know how to do it would be to use an analytic function on the query so that the average of the scores is listed as a column. When you have that, then you can sort by it. As of ApEx 3.2.1, you will not be able to create this new column using the interactive reports "Compute" feature. You'll need to build it into the SQL.
    Shane.
