How to centre the stage of 100% width in a browser?
I have created a web page in Edge that I intend to be centred in the web browser. If I keep the stage to fixed width (960 px) then I can centre it in the browser with the following in the compositionReady event of the Stage:
$("#Stage").css("margin","auto");
However, I want to create a tiled background, for which I use the following in the compositionReady event of the Stage:
$("#Stage").css("background-image","url(images/[email protected])","background-repeat","re peat");
If I keep the stage to fixed width then I don't see the tiled background because the stage is full of objects and the tiled background doesn't extend past 0 and 960px. If I make the stage width 100% then everything becomes left-aligned, but I do see the tiled background (to the right of the stage objects).
I've tried thinking of clever ways to position everything relative to some transparent element that has its width property set to 100%, but to no avail.
Does anyone know of a way to ensure that everything positions relative to the centre of the stage while retaining the 100% width stage property?
Zaixist posted this a long time ago and you might want to try it:
$("body").css({
"background-image":"url(images/yourBghere.jpg)",
"background-position":"center center fixed",
"background-repeat":"repeat",
"-webkit-background-size":"cover",
"-moz-background-size":"cover",
"-o-background-size":"cover",
"background-size":"cover"
$("#Stage").css({"margin":"0 auto"})
jQuery.fn.center = function(){
this.css("position","absolute");
this.css("top","50%");
this.css("left","50%");
this.css("margin-top","-"+(this.height()/2)+"px");
this.css("margin-left","-"+(this.width()/2)+"px");
return this;}
sym.$(".center").center();

How to keep the stage aspect ratio when stage width=100%?
Hey,
if I would like to make an animation that always fits into the browser window by fitting the width to 100% I'm having trouble keeping the aspect ratio of the stage's height. I can only configure 100% there which will stretch the content also to 100% of the browser window's height. If I configure a pixel value for the height, then I am also stuck on this value.
All I want is the stage to adjust to the width of the browser window, and the height of the stage to preserve the aspect ratio depending on the width.
this video shows what I mean. unfortunately I am not familiar with coding: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=hrLt0Y9QAY8
Can somebody help me?sorry can't get the code working properly onwith the html code function. Sorry for that

How to set an object to 100% width now that Muse no longer has the button?
I'm trying to set a slideshow to 100% width like the tutorials constantly talk about, but that is no longer possible in the latest version of Muse. The button is gone. So how do you do it? And why did Adobe remove the 100% width button? They seemed proud of it when it was released as a new feature.
Hi,
The 100% width option is available for the slideshow widget. But to use it in your slideshow, make sure you have selected the "Hero Image" of the slideshow and then click on the button of the 100% width option.
Please refer to this screenshot :- http://prntscr.com/567j41
Hope this helps

How do I make my webpage 100% width on any desktop resolution?
Hi,
I designed a website mockup on Photoshop with the dimensions of W: 1280 x H: 2464 but when placing the JPG file on the empty homepage
to see how it would look and fit, it wasn't taking up the whole screen and instead was centre and there was white background left and right.
I'm viewing this on my desktop thats 1920x1080.
I'm new to Muse so I'm not sure what is the best dimension settings to choose for a website that would work great on almost any desktop.
An exmple of the style of website I want to create is the Nestea website
For the header and footer of my website I have a huge image instead of a solid colour.
I know the images have to be really large so they don't get stretched out and loose quality but
if someone could tell me the dimensions and settings to put when creating a new website so that
I could re-mockup the website with the same dimensions and that if I placed the JPG file to see how it
would look, that it would fit edge to edge and not loose any quality.
ThanksHi,
You may find the below resources helpful in getting you started with a flexible width site in Muse similar to the example you provided.

How to make the stage as a Matrix?
I want to convert the stage to a matrix.
I have an idea is to put a square movie clip (height and
width are unit(variable), all the sizes of the objects on the stage
are multiples of unit ) and make the movie clip the whole stage
with 2 for loop.
but my problem how to detect if there's another object that
hit my first movie clip.
I can't do it with hitTest because I can't make hitTest with
all the objects.
Is there another method that return if there's a movie clip
that hit a whatever movie clip
Thanks in advanceHi Sastry,
I was able to create the subreport and its working.
Thank you so much.

How to position the Stage at the first available place on the screen
Im creating a Stage,
but for any reason when I dont define x,y it shows in different places on the screen, and sometimes outside of the screen
if I set x=0 and y=0 I have problems, because some user, like me, use the taskbar on the top of the screen,
anybody knows how do workaround this ?
this is the code of my Stage
public class Game extends Stage {
public var tick: Timeline = Timeline {
repeatCount: Timeline.INDEFINITE
keyFrames: [
KeyFrame {
time: 0.01s
action: function() {
mainLoop();
// main game loop
public function mainLoop(){
for (node in scene.content) {
if( node instanceof Updatable){
(node as Updatable).update();
public function play(){
tick.play();
}and this is how I'm using it
var game: Game = Game {
title: "Cabecudinhos, episódio 1 o ataque dos mosquitos"
x: 0
y: 0
width: 800
height: 600
scene: Scene {
content: [
background
littleBox
function run(__ARGS__ : String[]) {
game.play();
soundtrack.play();
}You can ask Java for that.
You can just center the stage on screen, that's quite easy given the screen dimensions:
import java.awt.*;
var dim: Dimension = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();
println("Screen is {dim.getWidth()}x{dim.getHeight()}");I suppose it works for main screen, there is code to get the info for all screens (if several are connected).
If you need to know the placements of the taskbar and other bars, you need to get the insets, which is a bit more convoluted.
var ge: GraphicsEnvironment = GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment();
var gsl: GraphicsDevice[] = ge.getScreenDevices();
var gcl: GraphicsConfiguration[] = gsl[0].getConfigurations();
var ins: Insets = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenInsets(gcl[0]);
println("Insets are T {ins.top}, L {ins.left}, B {ins.bottom}, R {ins.right}");It shows B 34 for my setting and T 34 if Windows' taskbar is on top, etc. -
Hi
Ive just upgraded to CS5 and am a bit lost!!
1st Problem
I updated our website design (which was previously designed in fireworks using CS3) using Fireworks CS5 and exported the images etc as html and loaded into the website folder.... however now Im in dreamweaver and ive tried centring the page, but when I go into live view, its aligned on the left....
My method.... I open the page, I select the 'table' then in the property box, under Align, i click 'Centre'. This was how i centred in the older version.
2nd Problem
Where do you set the homepage?? In the version ive been using up until recently, in the 'Local view' file manager (on the right) i would simply highlight the 'index.html' page, then right-click and select 'set as homepage'..... that seems to have disappeared in the newer version. How do I do this now???
All help is very much appreciated!
Thanks
AmandaOh No! But its worked perfectly in the past. Had no idea about fireworks not being able to used.... whoops!

How to clear the stage when entering a new frame
Dear all,
I am making my first website in flash based on frames. When you go to an other frame the Stage fades out. When you enter the frame you see nothing at all. So how can I clear the stage when entering the frame or even better it fades into the frame with clearing the objects & code of the previous frame.
Hope somebody can help me with this!
/*buttons naar frames*/ homehome.mouseChildren = false; homehome.buttonMode = true; homehome.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, actie5); homehome.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, actie5); homehome.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT, actie5); var fadetimer:Timer; var st:MovieClip = new MovieClip(); function actie5(event:MouseEvent):void { //klikken if(event.type == "click"){ st.graphics.beginFill(0xFFFFFF); //Choose your color to fade. st.graphics.drawRect(0, 0, stage.stageWidth, stage.stageHeight); st.graphics.endFill(); st.alpha = 0; stage.addChild(st); fadetimer = new Timer(100); fadetimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, fadeStage); fadetimer.start(); } //roll over if(event.type == "rollOver"){ infohome.text = "je staat op de knop"; } //roll off if(event.type == "rollOut"){ infohome.text = ""; } } function fadeStage(te:TimerEvent):void { if (st.alpha < 1) { st.alpha += 0.05; } else { fadetimer.stop(); fadetimer.removeEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, fadeStage); gotoAndStop(7); } }

How to make the stage transparent for SWF file being used in Dreamweaver
I have a SWF file in my Dreamweaver site, that plays correctly. The problem is that the stage is white and we would like it to be transparent. Searching the archives the following advice was given:
in your html embedding code you need to set the wmode parameter to be "transparent"
I'm wondering if this is the code in Dreamweaver or is this done in Flash. I'm working with CS5. Below is the code that matches the SWF file in Dreamweaver. I did change the wmode value from "opaque" to "transparent" and it didn't work.
Thanks for any assistance.

Second, be sure that there is in fact nothing covering the entire stage, like a big white rectangle.
Also, what is directly behind the .swf once it's on the Web page? If the background color of that page or the <div> that the .swf is in is white..... well then then .swf can have a transparent background but then the white from the Web page just shows thru.... so there's still a white background.
Be sure there is a non-white background on the Web page...
Window Mode (wmode) - What's It For?
There are three window modes.
Window
Opaque
Transparent
By default, the Flash Player gets its own hWnd in Windows. This means that the Flash movie actually exists in a display instance within Windows that lives above the core browser display window. So though it appears to be in the browser window, technically, it isn't. It is most efficient for Flash to draw this way and this is the fastest, most efficient rendering mode. However, it is drawing independently of the browser's HTML rendering surface. This is why this default mode (which is equivalent to wmode="window") doesn't allow proper compositing with DHTML layers. This is why your JavaScripted drop-down menus will drop behind your Flash movie.
In windowless modes (like opaque), Flash Player doesn't have a hWnd. This means that the browser tells the Flash Player when and where to draw onto the browser's own rendering surface. The Flash movie is no longer being rendered on a higher level if you will. It's right there in the page with the rest of the page elements. The Flash buffer is simply drawn into whatever rectangle the browser says, with any Flash stage space not occupied by objects receiving the movie's background color.
Best wishes,

How to resize the stage from the top instead of the bottom?
Hi I am trying to resize the stage in Flash CS4 from the top instead of the bottom, as I left too much space at the top of the stage and don't need the stage to be so big. By default Flash resizes from the bottom.
So is there a way of resizing from the top?
Failing this, is there a way of moving all the symbols/objects in my project so that I don't create a motion tween but just move the objects for all of the frames in the project (i have quite a few tweens in the project)?
Thanks

How to resize the calendar height and width
Hi,
how to re size the calendar height and width...
Ie i need to fix this calendar region 7 cross 4 format in my page
Regards,
PavanIf the text exceeds the container, which can happen in a scrollable container where you have to scroll to see some of the text, then the values getContentBounds returns are estimated values. This is because we don't want to force the text to recompose all the way to the end of a very long TextFlow in order to return a value. However, if you want to get the exact amount, and don't mind taking the time to recompose, call textFlow.flowComposer.composeToPosition(), before calling getContentBounds. This forces all the text to recompose to the end, and then getContentBounds will return the fully calculated value instead of estimating.
