How to change screen combo box value from a method?

Hi,
I have a screen that has a combo box and an ALV.
the combo box has the line numbers of the data in the ALV.
you can select the line item and then the ALV changes...
I fill the combo with function VRM_SET_VALUE.
all is good once the user changes the combo box.
I want to enable the user to click (hotspot) on ALV and then to ... and to change the value of the combo box to the line number he clicked on.
I couldn't change the value inside that box.
The combo box is declared as global parameter.
when I assign a value to it inside the method, it is good. but once back to PAI, it is the old value.
Do you have any idea how to set up that value?

When you load the combo box, you should be setting a "key" for each entry in the combo box.
See below:
move '2010FY' to Value-Key.
move '2010 - Full Year' to Value-Text.
append value to list.
move '2010Q1' to Value-Key.
move '2010 - Q1' to Value-Text.
append value to list.
move '2010Q2' to Value-Key.
move '2010 - Q2' to Value-Text.
append value to list.
move '2010Q3' to Value-Key.
move '2010 - Q3' to Value-Text.
append value to list.
move '2010Q4' to Value-Key.
move '2010 - Q4' to Value-Text.
append value to list.
move 'COMBO1' to name. "name of Combo box in the screen
call function 'VRM_SET_VALUES'
    exporting
      id = name
      values = list.
So add these "keys" to a hidden column in the ALV grid. Then .... when the user presses a hotspot, pass the value of the hidden column (for the selected row) into the COMBO1 box.

so...when u run the form then checkbox will unchecked.
but..at design time u can't see the effect of unchecked..

How to pass the check box values from one view to another view

Hi Experts,
I have a selection screen view which consists of check boxes.
WBS System status.
Release                      Completed                  Closed as 3 check boxes.
Note : The above ones are check boxes.
Based on the selection made by the user, those values needs to be passed to second view which retrieves the data and
displays the data accordingly.
At the same time if the user does not make any selection, then WBS System status should contain Released, Completed and Closed values and that needs to be sent to Second view.

u need to follow these steps :
1 in side ur component controller , under the ATTRIBUTES tab , make 3 attributes say attr1 , attr2 and attr3 of type WDY_BOOLEAN

Create a Class which will hold the values you want and return that object. Or return a List, or return an array, or - taking your example with the person, why don't you return the whole person object?

Drill Down from chart to webi trigger automatically while changing the combo box seelction

Hi Experts,
The problem is if I select the box in the heat map, it will take me to a webi report then if I come back to the dashboard and change the combo box. The selection is not deselected, As the selection is still there it selects the value in the changed heat map there by automatically triggering the URL and redirecting to Webi Report automatically.
Can any one Please help me to resolve this,i really would appreciate your help.

This is a typical issue when the xcelsius components do not have auto-deselect property.
Try doing this work-around. I have implemented it successfully in one of the previous projects.
Identify one particular destination cell (lets call this cell DEST_CELL here onwards) that is triggering the particular report to open automatically. Now, take a new combo box and use it to insert a blank value in the DEST_CELL everytime DEST_CELL changes its value. Now write a formula in some other cell(lets call is FLAG_CELL) that gives you a "1" when DEST_CELL is not blank and gives you "0" when DEST_CELL is blank. Use this FLAG_CELL to fire the URL. Do not fire URL on change event, fire it when FLAG_CELL is "1".

How to Bind a Combo Box so that it retrieves and display content corresponding to the Id in a link table and populates itself with the data in the main table?

I am developing a desktop application in Wpf using MVVM and Entity Frameworks. I have the following tables:
1. Party (PartyId, Name)
2. Case (CaseId, CaseNo)
3. Petitioner (CaseId, PartyId) ............. Link Table
I am completely new to .Net and to begin with I download Microsoft's sample application and
following the pattern I have been successful in creating several tabs. The problem started only when I wanted to implement many-to-many relationship. The sample application has not covered the scenario where there can be a any-to-many relationship. However
with the help of MSDN forum I came to know about a link table and managed to solve entity framework issues pertaining to many-to-many relationship. Here is the screenshot of my application to show you what I have achieved so far.
And now the problem I want the forum to address is how to bind a combo box so that it retrieves Party.Name for the corresponding PartyId in the Link Table and also I want to populate it with Party.Name so that
users can choose one from the dropdown list to add or edit the petitioner.

The problem, presumably, seems to be is that the binding path "PetitionerLookup" of the ItemSource of the Combo box in the view vPetitioner exists in a different ViewModel vmCase which serves as an ObservableCollection for MainViewModel. Therefore,
what I need to Know is how to route the binding path if it exists in a different ViewModel?

loading data in to the combobox on form load.but, it should be done when atleast one row is active.
the values what ever you are inserting in to combo should be less than or eqhal to 100 or 150.if it exceeds beyond that performance issue arises.it takes more time to load all the data.so, it is better to have 100 or less.

Error while changing the PO BOX value for a Business partner

Hi Friends,
We are getting an error when we try to change the PO Box value for a Business Partner.
We have the dependency like when we give the value for the PO Box we also need to give the postal code value. And also we have a specific format for the Postal code. We gave both the values (a valid postal code) and try to save the details, then error message "The attribute GUID of Organization (a Contact Person is assigned to) of the Business Object contact person is not valid" is displayed. We have no clue why there is a conflict for the contact person details.
Can any one suggest the reason for this?

Hi Swarna,
You are getting this message not because you have entered wrong Post code .It will come even if you try to change some other field and save it. This is because on saving a business object, the framework tries to validate all the associated objects depending on the relation.In this case the data in the mobile client is either not present or is no longer valid.
Check if the field of the Business object which is being shown as invalid, has some data in the table. Check the combo associated to it and from where the combo is doing the validation. The table from where the combo is doing the validation does not have that data and so the value is invalid.
Also compare the number of entries in smokna1sht table in ides and in CDB.

In Reporting Services, if we want to pass a combo box parameter (means signal-parameter) from one report (main report) to another report (subreport), we can enable an action with “Go to report” or “Go to URL” option to achieve the requirement. For more details,

Method1: Go to report
Right-click a report item to open the properties dialog in subreport, click Action in the left pane.
Enable Go to report action, then select the main report name in the drop-down list.
Add a parameter as below:
Select ID (a parameter name from main report) in the drop-down list of Name, and select [ID] (a field name from subreport) in the drop-down list of Value.
Method2: Go to URL
Right-click a report item to open the properties dialog in subreport, click Action in the left pane.
Enable Go to URL action, the URL below is for your reference:

Fetching sub-screen check box value in module pool

Hi,
i hav a req in which i craeted a sub-screen in a standard sap screen QA11 using screen -exit.
This sub-screen has two check box's for 2 approvals.I hav craeted as screen with this 2 check box and made that as a sub-screen to main screen.
I hav few validations to be performed on these 2 check-boxes.
1.Enabling and disabling of resp check-box based on some condition.This is happening as i hav written some logic in PBO of the screen.
2.Validations hav to be performed on the check-box like if user clicks a check-box that value has to be captured and stored in a Z custom table.My main issue comes here.i hav written some code in PAI,but when i put a break-point,that code is not at all getting triggered.
Kindly,let me know how can i get the check-box value from the sub-screen which is craeted in the standard screen of QA11 using screen-exit.

Believe it or not, the same FM worked for me in a dynpro. I will try to explain here how it works in custom screen and then you can do your work for other screens or program types. I am not going to write my actual work but will explain in general.
I have 4 fields (FLD1, FLD2, FLD3, FLD4) and i made the search based on FLD2 and when user click on a line (could be any field), then this would bring the line on to the screens.
There are like 3 steps.
You have your value_tab for my fields FLD1, FLD2, FLD3 and FLD4. This is just the data that we pass into the FM. (data: IT_VALTAB type table of ZVAL_TABLE)
Next map the screen fields into an internal table (data: It_dynpfld type table of dselc ). I also have other internal tables defined (just to keep it straight, i will be putting here) data: It_return type standard table of ddshretval.
Next step is to call the function module. Make sure you have values in IT_VALTAB.

I think you have to manually populate each combobox after the first column selection is over.
You have to remove values from the combo box and then add only satisfied values to it.
For a comboboxcolumn all the cells in this column will be showing the same valid values.
Example.
First row-> Sales Order number is 1 - populate the column with those items
When you move to second, you have to remove all items and then add related items to the combo box.
Any other method?

How to link two combo boxes? (urgent)

I am wondering how to link two combo boxes in Acrobat Pro 9. Basically, I need to link a building with a list of rooms. There are 3 building choices in my first combo box. For the sake of example, Building A, Building B and Building C. When one of the buildings is selected, I want a 2nd combo box to display the rooms that are located in that building. So by selecting building A, you would then be able to choose a room from the list of available rooms in the second drop box. The buildings cannot share a list of rooms because they have the same room numbers. Is anyone able to help?

You can also use ajax. When the first combo box element is selected, it will call the ajax function and that ajax function will bring the data from the database and place it in second combo box.
