How to Change Sheets in Excel?
Hi,
I want to be able to change sheets in excel. I can do this by simply opening the file and changing sheets however If I were to write to the file but I require that I change the sheet then write in the specific cell.
I have attached 2 VI's.
The first starts excel rights a basic value in a specified cell and saves it with a name/location you desire. The problem is here if you try to add values to sheet2 it won't work.
The second VI is a active X for beginners vi which I got from the excel board. I used this vi to get where I am currently. This vi allows you to switch sheets and a read any value in a single cell. I hoped by using the same method I would be able to write to any cell in any sheet.

thanks in advance.You need to create the sheet with the required metadata. There's no use creating blank sheet.
Also metadata has to be fixed using a sample sheet prior to start of the package for setting the mapping. You may create a excel template for this purpose to just set the mapping at design time.
At runtime pass actual excel sheet path for ExcelFilePath property of the source to point to correct file.
Also the create table statement should include the same metadata info (columns)

Hi, well it works fine! I have used a sample sheet prior to start of the package for setting the mapping.
Next at run time pass actual excel sheet path for ExcelFilePath property of the source to point to correct file.
However I have set also ValidateExternalMetadata properties of the Excel Destination to false and DelayValidation properties of the package to true.
Now my problem is the following:
I stored the three sheets name (sheet1, sheet2, sheet3) in the Object type user variable through a script task and the foreach loop loops through the three sheets stored in the variable.
Now, I want that at each iteration the CURRENT VALUE of the Object type user variable is mapped into another user variable wich in turn is given in input to the Excel Source.
Resuming:
-) I have to copy the content of three sheets (sheet1, sheet2, sheet3) of excel file into another new sheet, sheet4.
-) I stored the three sheets name (sheet1, sheet2, sheet3) in the Object type user variable.
-) With a foreach loop container I loops the three sheets stored in the Object type user variable.
-) Within a foreach loop container I have a Data Flow Task that transfer data from source sheet (sheet1, sheet2, sheet3) into destination sheet, sheet4.
-) PROBLEM: how to change dinamically at each iteration of the foreach loop the name of source sheet? In the destination excel Task the sheet is always the same at each iteration, sheet4. But in the source excel task the name of sheet musts change at each
iteration. In particular at the first iteration the name of the source sheet must be "sheet1$", at the second iteration "sheet2$", in the last iteration "sheet3$".

I am having 1 excel sheet with 3 worksheet.
I have configured using For each loop container and ADO.net rowset enumerator.
Every thing is fine, but after running my package I am getting below error

I've created several Excel (from Office:Mac 2011) files on my MapPro; the are on the 'backup' drive (not the main drive). When accessing the 'get info' menu on the file, it shows that I can read and write; but if I open the file, the file name indicates it is read only, and attempts to save changes result in a message that requires a new name for the file. What can I do to change the read/write restriction so I can make changes without having to constantly rename the file with the changed information included?

How can I get an excel spreadsheet onto the iPad and make changes to it during my meeting this afternoon?
I just bought splashtop, you have to have your home computer online,and download the pc version. I have used it ot watch movies and to "go to work" on my ipad. It controls the desktop through the ipad. Whiteboard by splashtop does that and more and is on sale. The education director at the hospital I work at is using that one.
Splashtop 4.99 remote desktop(or laptop) control. Whiteboard 9.99 is remote control and more 9.99

If you are familar with the Numbers Budget Template it has two tabs 'Budget' and 'Transactions'. If you use the template as it is designed when you input expenses on the transaction tab it will automatically add that amount into the selected category on the budget tab. I have madified my budget tab to reflect the caegories that I need, which included adding several to the template. I also added to the table so it reflects my income and expenses so I can track where I am at with a glance. Since I did this, I can't get my transactions tab to communicate with the budget tab. I figured out how to change the options in the drop down box for category but I con't figure out how to get it to reflect onto my budget tab. I'm sure that it is an easy fix, however, I am just not well versed in Numbers. I appreciate your time in helping me with this issue.

JonMy guess is that while you added catetories to your Budget Sheet by adding new lines and filling in the category column, you didn't also add the formulas to these new budget lines.
The proper way to add those lines would have been to select a cell in the line just above where you want to add a line and type Option/Alt-DownArrow. This would have copied the formulas into the new line. Maybe you did this, and maybe not. You didn't give details on how you added the lines.
Select C2 and D2 and Command-C to copy them to the Clipboard.
Select all the cells of Columns C and D except for the top and bottom rows and Command-V to Paste.
If I have properly guessed the problem, you should be in business. This assumes that your Categories are exaclty the same as the entries in your Pop-up menus. Spelling counts, as does case.

Adobe does offer products that convert file format types so I would suggest you investigate our other Acrobat.com offerings or a desktop version of Acrobat itself.

I have Apple's numeric pad keybord. Unfortunately, I dont know how to change the input of the "dot" key on the number pad, so that I get a comma in Numbers sheet, which would allow me to use decimals when working with numbers.

Are there any settings in System Preferences > Keyboard?
Perhaps the Input Sources Tab may help.
You can also get there from System Preferences > Language & Region > (set your preferences, then click on the Keyboard Preferences button).
