How to change the Validility period of the cost element

Hi All,
how to change the validity period of the cost element. In tranc code Ka02 only the text is allowed to change but i want to change the validity period of the cost element.

My  concern is, i have a document posted to 43100 GL Expense acct, which is also defined as cost element, GL field status G004(cost accts). But when the original document is posted no is no assignment of any cost object.
But i have to reverse the document and when i use FB08, the reversal is popping up with error " Assignment of CO object is neccesaary " Assign the cost center.
Is there any way we can update the cost center for posted docuemnt? if so how? and can i make the cost element invalid for previous month so that it will not ask for cost object and change the field status of the GL from g004 to G001 only for reversal and set it back after posting is done.
Appreciate ur feedback and suitab;le points are rewarded with points.

    It will allow!  I just tried it.  Make sure you have the validity from to (in the initial screen of KA01) as I stated below - 01/01/2011 to 31/08/2011.  Also, check in table CSKB what are the validity periods for your cost element(s).

    If you want to change template based on parameter. you have to use below syntax

  • How the system know the actual period in the Production startup of ML?

    Hi experts:
    I have a question:
    We want to make a prototipe of Material Ledger/Actual Costing.
    At first we want to make a copy of all the information of one Client for example until 31.11.2009 to another Client.
    I have readed that when you make the Production Startup process of ML, the system transfers inventory quantities, inventory values and prices from material master records to the material ledger data for the current period, the previous period, and the last period of the previous year.
    The question is How the system can determinate the actual period??.. Is this based on the MM logistic periods??.
      At last if we do the copy of all the existing movements to our client until 31.11.2009 but the MM logistic period was 03/2010, What is the Actual Period for Material Ledger at the moment that I realize the Production startup?.

    In the SAP HELP library in "preparing data for Material Ledger (production startup), you can find the next:
    When you have finished the production startup, the system does the following:
    Transaction Data
    1. Transfers inventory quantities, inventory values and prices from material master records to the material ledger data for the current period, the previous period, and the last period of the previous year
    2.- Calculates the inventory values and prices in the currencies of the material ledger at the current date using the stated exchange rate type
    3.- Amends the purchase order histories with the set currencies, using the settings for additional currencies found in Customizing for Financial Accounting
    Like you said in your last replay, this process ONLY transfer  (Quantities and values related to the inventory??
    What happend with the goods movements which have already exists in SAP before  you  set  Valuation areas as Productive in ML??..

  • The grace period for the Remote Desktop Session Host server has expired

    <p>I'm running Windows Server 2012, we only have 1 server and it's a DC.  I'm trying to RD to the server from my Windows 7 laptop. It was working fine on Friday but when I came in on Monday I got message saying that 'The remote session was disconnnected
    because there are no Remote Desktop License Servers available to provide a license'
    So after a bit of digging I found out my 'grace period' had expired, so ordered a new license which I got today, installed this all ok but still i cannot connect via RD I get the same message....went into the RD License Diagnoser and it said the problem
    was as follows
    'The grace period for the Remote Desktop Session Host server has expired, but the RD Session Host server has not been configured with any license servers. Connections to the RD Session Host server will be denied unless a license server is configured for
    the RD Session Host server.'
    Suggested Resolution as follows
    Configure a license server for the Remote Desktop Session Host server. If you have an existing license server, specify that license server for the RD Session Host Server. Otherwise, install RD Licensing on a computer on your network and Configure RD Session
    Host Server to use it.'
    I cannot figure out how to do this as I cannot find the RD Session Host Server tool. 
    Can any of you lovely people help me please

    Best option would be to assign the license server by using AD GPO. Youl will need to configure the following:
    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Licensing
    and define the settings for:
    Use the specified Remote Desktop License Server
    Set the Remote Desktop Licensing mode
    Then assign the policy tho your server.

         In general there are ‘3’ kinds of interfaces
    1)     Easy  ---  2 days (Which will include dev+ document)
         2)  Medium -
    5 days          “           “
    3)     Complex  -
    10 to 12 days  (complex BPMs + Mappings+ document)
          Project full time will purely depends on the  Business (Requirement)
         + No.systems+ No.scenarios
          But in general 4months to 6 months for normal projects

    Hi Felipe,
    it seems that you have missed one thing (in terms of understanding).
    The System Principal is a special permission. It is like defining a super admin user who is able to do a lot of administrative things in the Knowledge Management platform. This special permission can be applied to every existing portal user (independent of the other permissions the user has) but also to a group or a role. All users assigned in that group or with that role will become a system principal and have the defined permissions.
    As you've mentioned above, when you create a new system principal definition you can type the following:
    1) Name - To be on the safe side I would use here the same UserId/RoleID/GroupID as in the User Name /Role Name /Group Name field.
    2) Change Resource Permissions - If you check this box, as mentioned in SAP Help, the defined user/role/group is able to change resource permission for every resource (document or folder).
    3) Service ACLs - Yes, here you define if the user/role/group should also be able to change service permissions for every resource (document or folder), or not.
    4) Set System Properties - This is for properties that are not set over the UI (Details screen) but can only be set via API. Sometimes you want to have a system user, which you define as system principal and give him this permission to user this user to set system properties.
    5) Unlock Permission - As mentioned in the SAP Help link, with this permission a system principal could remove document locks set by other users.
    6) Resource Permissions - Here you define what the system principal (user/group/role) is allowed to do in KM (besides the above defined status of changing permissions). If you selected only READ, the system principal will only be able to read ALL resources (files/folders) in KM. It should be clear what happens if you define READ, WRITE, DELETE.
    7) User Name - Type here the User ID of the user(s) that you want to give this system principal status. You can have here a comma separated list.
    8) Audit Actions - By checking this box, every time the mentioned user changes permission / unlocks objects / etc. this action will logged. You will be able to see it in the [KM audit|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/44/a9b4e2f9677455e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm].
    You will not find a initial path definition, because you can not restrict a system principal on a special path. The system principal is defined global for ALL KM repositories.

    Now I understand. I tried to reproduce your problem by copying a standard smartform and the 'Create by' had my user ID.  But now you say you uploaded the smartform from a file it becomes clear.
    The uploaded smartform will retain the user ID from the original form, if you want to change this copy the form to a temporary name, then copy it back again to the original name.

    I mean assuming you have a security model, users are in groups etc. And you have one group allowed to access tab 1, and you build tab2 for another group....
    The dashboard page properties screen, has a padlock icon against page, here you can set up the presentation catalogue privs for the dashboard page, assign users / groups read access, prohibit access as you see fit.
    To get to the page properties, edit the dashboard itself, on the top row of icons against the page dropdown list is our friend, the pointy finger, hit this to get to the page properties screen, you can change order, rename pages and in this case, set security per page.
    For discussions on the security model, RPD groups & Web cat groups - best we start another thread !! have a search on the forum first though, its been covered many times :-)

    I too am wondering about your first question, but I have found a workaround for your second question.
    First save the audio clip as a mov file in quicktime, then place it somewhere on the page. Make it small and out of the way and hide ot from site.
    Now publish the site. Then you will have to change the HTML. Open text edit and select "Ignore Rich Text Commands". Open the iDisk icon on the left and find the Web folder then follow this string Web/Sites/iWeb/<Your Site Name>/<then the page name folder, example: "Home_files">/then "Home.js"
    Once opened find the quicktime file use the find feature it will list the properties twice, the second listings are the ones you want to change. Change controller="true" to controller="false". Then autoplay="false" to autoplay="true" and loop="false" to loop="true".
    If you change that specific page and republish you will have to do this again, but only if you change that page. You will not if you rebublish and you had made no changes to that specific page.
