How to close SIP and H323 port

I have cisco 2801 with IOS (C2801-SPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(5a). I found that my router open TCP port 5060 (SIP) and TCP port 1720. How can I disable this port? I've tried to disable on "voice service voip" but not working. Do you have any suggestion

Workaround:
H323 can be disabled by issuing these commands from Config mode:
voice service voip
h323
call service stop
SIP can be disabled by issuing these commands:
sip-ua
no transport udp
no transport tcp
Voice service voip
sip
Call service stop

Hello, I have a X5800 music, model 5800d-1 and I can enter all the necessary SIP data. I get the message (settings, connectivity, admin settings, sip settings) registered which is fine. SIP and VoIP are not synonymous. VoIP can indeed use SIP (and often does), but other services, such as video sharing for example, also use SIP.
It so happens that the 5800 has no native support for VoIP, which is why you can't make SIP calls using it.
Your only solution for SIP is to use third-party services such as fring, for example. Once logged into your fring account you can subscribe to a SIP service. Fring's systems will register to the SIP account and relay the comminucation through your fring account. There's lag and the audio quality isn't as good as a direct SIP connection but at least it works.
The alternative is to use a phone that supports VoIP/SIP natively.

As far as I understand the link you went me Safari and other Apps are kind of closed once I have clicked the Home button so that should be OK.
However, when I opened a radio program it did not seem to be possible for me to close it down even though I was using the Home button. The music kept playing which of course many times would be great however I would like to know how to close a program when I do not want to use it any more.

How to close Safari and Apps entirely?

I recently got Iphone 4 and have been reading through the manual where I noticed that Safari and other programs are still running in the background if I do not close the programs entirely. I thought all programs were closed once I clicked the 'home' button and opened another program.
I am not sure exactly how to close Safari or the App programs so I would be grateful to learn about how to do that.

How to close JWindow and keep it front

my main opens a fullscreen jframe and then a smaller Jwindow.
i called toFront but the Jwindow is always hidden behind
the jframe. how do i keep jwindow in front ALWAYS.
also, i have a mouselistener in the jwindow (that works fine)
and im calling

window.dispose();
but the jwindow is never disappearing.

How to "close" applications and not use data

Is it possible to "close" applications so to not use any data/internet at all, for example with safari?
Or is it when you click the "home" button, it closes?

Technically, yes.
All apps once activated remain techincally open but suspend themselves when navigated away from.
The email app however, lets say you go in, and it starts the manual checking of mail. If you leave it, it will continue with that check until done. Then stop (but check again if you set your mail settings to check on an interval).
Other apps, suspend themselves.

SheildsUP! at https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 tells me that I have ports 21, 22, and 23 open. The application firewall on my iMac allows "signed software to receive incoming connections" and "stealth mode" is checked. The option "Block all incoming connections" is not checked.
I recognize that an application firewall does not work by blocking ports. But I wonder if somehow I should try and block them by some other means? Or do I even need to be concerned about it?

Seems Apple is making things more difficult with every OS update. Back in the day you used to be able to organize your applications instead of having them all in one folder. You used to have a lot more freedom. More and more it is just easier to use a third party app. So I'm gonna install Thunderbird until Apple comes up with an easy way to fix the mail app. it seems that eveything in help says you just gotta reinstall the system from scratch. I would rather just use an open source product that I can put into any forlder I want without having to worry about it screwing itself up. Had similar experience with Safari now it seems like it is time to get rid of Mail.

This could be a real stupid question , I know port 5 and 6 are controlled by the promise controller. but when I plug something in to these ports nothing happens. Do you need to load the drivers, I really do not want to use raid would just like to plug in hard drives for storage only.

do not set up raid when you boot, just let it go through it's thing or hit "space bar" and it will skip through the raid setup stuff..

I love that promise controller --> eSata on the back , nice hot swap hard drive port. I use it to do Norton ghost backups. Much faster than through USB-HD. When back ups are done, just unplug it.

Here is the scenario of my network:
- A company with 20 branches in Rio de Janeiro area. The main servers are in a datacenter located in downtown.
Each branch has a RV042 router with firmware version 1.3.12.19-tm (Feb 13 2009 13:03:21) installed.
All users in this network have a proxy configuration pointing to proxy.[blah].com.br port 3128.
The HTTP/HTTPS traffic should go through proxy only.
The network settings for every RV042 are similar:
RV042 LAN IP = 172.16.***.1 /24.
RV042 WAN IP = 192.***.***.*** /30.
Network Setting Status

WAN1 IP: 192.168.***.*** /30
WAN2 IP: Not used

The problem:
- Some "smart" users were caught using Ultrasurf application, which changes the proxy settings to go through port 9666 or even 443.
In other machines, we've found some black proxies [for example: 212.46.27.142 port 8080].
My objective:
- To close all ports in Firewall -> Access Rules section and grant permission only to some selected and specified ports.
- To redirect all HTTP/HTTPS connections to go to proxy's IP address only.
Gentlemen, could you please tell me which Access Rules can I set in these RV042s in order to block and prevent these users to continue abusing this network? Is there anything else am I missing?
P.S.: The users who were caught using Ultrasurf were fired. ;-)

Thanks for your answer. But let me tell you better. In this scenario, all machines in LAN can use RDP and VNC normally.
I want to block everything else, just to avoid users to try using other ports.
You might want to try Deny all traffic out, except for the PC's you need to use RDP, and then only allow 80, and 443 to the proxy.[blah].com.br port 3128. This way all web traffic would have to pass through that proxy, otherwise it would be denied.
In this network, we use VNC to provide remote IT support to users in these branches.
They use RDP to access some servers in the datacenter.
I think that the rule below line 6 is letting users go and traverse the proxy.

Have done netstat -a | grep 32773

Since we don't know the port is tie to which program or services thus we cant comment out anything in /etc/inetd.conf.
Have do more /etc/services and the port not showing inside this file as well.

I am pretty sure rpc is a standalone daemon, and not managed by inetd. Instead check /etc/init.d/ and /etc/rc*** scripts.
There may be some services that require rpc- nfs probably requires it (NFS v4 with kerberos authentication might not.) The idmap daemon used by nfs may also require this (not sure of the exact daemon name..)

Based on the previous posting, whatever information you're receiving from the vendor support folks appears rather garbled or confused, particularly based on that "The vendor mentioned that we need to route the DNS and get it working (forwarded) on port 80 and I'd tend to avoid them." comment over there.
I'd ask the vendor for documentation and details (as on its face, a requirement for this proxy seems, well, somewhat questionable), but yes, you're probably in the Apache config files here, and probably using overrides and .htaccess if the site is low-volume, as that'll keep the changes isolated for testing.
Out of curiousity, is this proxy project part of an attempt to get this package to accessible, but without the vendor actually having the package running on port 80? (Got a pointer to the package? We can check the docs, and see if we can translate the installation requirements into something useful on OS X Server.)
Are you running 10.5 or 10.6? Both are pretty old releases.
