How to compare two excel reports and find the difference in BI Publisher

I have a requirement that needs to compare two excel reports in XML Publisher 5.6.2. or BI publisher 10.1.3.4
If anybody has an idea about this pls help us.

Since our customer wants to have this comparison only with BI reports....here is the scenario how the comparison should be..
Now,we have a parameters called Customer name and version id. Version id list will be refreshed based on the customer selection.
User can generate the report based on the selected customer name and version id. These data are fetch from the oracle database and we are using Data Template in the BI Publisher.
Now the requirement is customer wants to compare two version id data. for example, v1.2 and v1.3
Now they wanna to see both the reports while generating in the same work sheet, like, v1.2report should display in the left side and the v1.3report has to display in the right hand side of the same work sheet.
Now...If there is any addition happened in v1.3 report,then that cell/data should display as a green color in that report.
If any deletion happened in v1.3report then that should be in the red color.
If any modification happened in v1.3 then that should be in the yellow color.
If there is no difference then that should display as it is.
the thing is that, the both the reports (v1.2 and v1.3)should display side by side in the same worksheet with the format and everything........only the difference should be highlighted.
Template is same for both the reports..
To display the data for both versions i think i can generate the template side by side of both in the same worksheet.
Now, My question is how to find the difference of data in the RTF Template for both the versions

How to create an excel report and send it via email using a BPEL process ?

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to develop a xl report based the data in the DB table. I will have to query the list of records entered / processed during previous day, generated the xl based report and send to users via email.
I talked to one the experts, he asked me to use the following Adapter and BPEL activities to accomplish it.
DBAdapter --> {BPEL process} --> Java Embedding --> Email Activity.
Can someone please help me to pass the information retrieved by DBAdapter to Java Embedding and then to email import? I have created DBAdapter and Java Embedding. I don't know, how to retrieve the data read / sent by DBAdapter using Java Embedding. Also please help me to pass the xl attachment to Email Activity.

I would suggest something like:
DBAdapter --> Bpel Process --> File Adapter --> write file to location (you can write in csv which can be imported into xls)
Read Location --> FileAdapter --> Bpel Process --> Email Activity

I've assumed that the dbexcel.csv and liveexcel.csv files live in the root of c:\ for this, that they include the header information, and that the outputexcel.csv file will be saved to the same place (including headers).

Comparing two internal tables and deleting the record not present in second

I have a internal table itaba with PERNR as primary key and various other columns (1000 records) and table B with PERNR as primary key and 800 records.
Now what is the best way to compare these two and delete the record from table A when its corresponding record is not present in table B?

Authentication against two user lists and knowing the difference?

I have a security realm that is the standard out-of-the-box security realm with one modification. I created an authentication provider to validate users and groups defined in a 3rd party data store. The control flag for each authentication provider (the default one and mine) is set to 'sufficient' so that there is one user account that allows me to log into the WebLogic console that is not defined in the 3rd party data store.
If I run my application and log in with the WebLogic admin userid, the security realm successfully authenticates the user (it passes the default authentication provider) and permits entry to my application. Unfortunately, this is not good for me. The application, at startup, goes to the 3rd party data store and retrieves more information about the user that just logged in. For the WebLogic admin account, it will not find the user.
Is there a way to configure WebLogic security such that a particular application can ensure authentication by a specific provider?
Another environment I need to handle is having two applications deployed, each needing to authenticate its users with two different data sources containing valid users and groups.

I have found the fnd_web_sec returns a boolean for a valid username / password combination but I'm still not sue how I can integrate this.
Sorry for being thick but this is what I'm trying to do.
I have an application built in htmldb that I want to be accessable from the e-business suite applications main menu. I've set this up and a user can select it how ever I have no authentication so even though its not assigned to you you can still goto the app by just entering the url. So when a user goes to that htmldb app I want to check that they have that resp assigned to them, this can be done with the following

The two problems I have are:-

How do I "scan" my LAN and find the host name of the server computer?

I need to scan my LAN to find out the IP and host name of the computer in which is waiting for client acceptance because the server side of my program is not always on the same computer. Therefore, the IP and host name of my server is not final and can be placed on any computer on my network with over 50 connected computers. How might I check to see which computer is waiting for a client?
EDIT: I need the host name only, disregard IP

The text files I want to compare are how ever much larger than this example. (up to 2-3.000 words)

Hi Harsha,
Transaction WE05 will help you out.You should first know some details like the
iDoc type, partner, the date/time and maybe the iDoc #. There can be many iDocs
generated/processed per day and without having some info to start with,
one will never find anything useful. Filter what you can, and then
navigate in the left hand frame/double click on the results lines in the
right hand frame to drill down. Eventually you will see the single iDoc
with all the many 'segments' available. Expand the 'data records'
branch (and sub-branches) to see each 'segment' and find the data fields
& values (these will appear in the lower right hand frame).

I attempted to compare two strings whether they are equal or not. They should return true if both are equal.
One string is based on Taxonomy's Term (i.e. Term.Name) whereas other string is based on String object.
The problem is that both strings which seem equal return false instead of true. Both string values have different special characters though their special characters are ＆ and &

If you have a list of possible ambiguous characters the job is going to be easy and if (＆ vs &) are the only charracters in concern awesome.
You can use the below solution.
Before comparing pass the variables through a replace function to standarize the char set.
$Var = Replace($Var,"＆","&")
This is going to make sure you don't end up with ambiguous characters failing the comparison and all the char are "&" in this case.
Similar technique is used to ignore Character Cases 'a' vs. 'A'

How can i compare two excel files with different no. of records.

I am on to a small project that involves us to compare two excel files. i am able to do it but am struck up at a point. When i compare 2 different .csv files with different no. of lines i am only able to compare upto a point till when the number of lines is same in both the files.
Eg. if source file has 8 lines and target file has 12 lines. The difference is displayed only till 8 lines and the remaining 4 lines in source lines are not shown.
Can you help me in displaying those extra 4 lines in source file. I am attaching my code snippet below..

A CSV file is not an Excel file.
But apart from that your logic makes no sense.
If the 2 files are of different sizes the files are different by definition, so further comparison isn't needed, you're done.
If you want to compare individual records, you need to compare all records from one file with all records from the other, unless the order of records is important in which case your current system might work.
That system however is overly complicated for comparing CSV files.
As you assume a single record per line, and if one can assume those records to have identical layout (so no leading or trailing whitespace in or between columns in one file that's not in the other) comparing records is simply a matter of comparing the entire lines.
