How to configure admin server failover in weblogic

Hi all,
Can anyone please tell me how can I configure Admin server failover in weblogic.
Please guide!!

Hi,
From the word "Failover" this means you are doing Active-Passive configuration for weblogic Admin server. For Active-Passive clustering, without shared storage you can do it. But the domain directory should be on a storage mount point, when node -1 will do down the same mount point should be mounted to node2.

On solaris 9, you might want to look at /usr/sbin/directoryserver this might help you.

Install/configure admin server after installing weblogic

I have installed weblogic generic 10.3 in my windows 7 professional machine and configured OIM. But I did not configure the Admin server. I tried starting the OIM & SOA server by using
C:\......\bin>startManagedWebLogic.cmd soa_server1 http://localhost:7001
but I got this error

You are checking at the wrong place.you need to check the same under DOMAIN_HOME which would be by default at $MIDDLEWARE_HOME/user_projects/domains/<<Your DOmain Name>>
e.g. if WL_HOME=/oracle/Middleware/wlserver_10.3
then
MIDDLEWARE_HOME=/oracle/Middleware
and DOMAIN_HOME=/oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/SOA_DOMAIN <---THere should be Domain Name folder existing>>
Under the domain folder you would be having startWebLogic.sh which is used to start the Admin Server.
And moreover under DOMAIN_HOME you would have config folder in which you would have config.xml where from you can check which all the server you have in your domain which you have created.

Unable to start admin server service for weblogic (startWebLogic.sh) Linux

I installed ECM 11g on Linux 64-bit , installed weblogic 12
so when I try to start admin server service for weblogic (startWebLogic.sh) and following error its showing

Unable to start Admin server by using weblogic.admin utility

I stoped the admin server by using weblogic.admin utility command as bellow.
java weblogic.Admin -url http://server1:8008 -username adminuser -password weblogic SHUTDOWN myserver
It stopped successfully. But while starting as below i am getting error. Kindly help me out.
java weblogic.Admin -url http://172.27.72.70:8008 -username adminuser -password weblogic START myserver

So can't we start admin server by using weblogic.admin utility if admin server is stopped?

When i create a server following tags is added to config.xml

And if i do a clone through admin console, following is added to config.xml

If incase, cloning is not possible through WLST, can i add following

under <server> tag which is created through WLST ?

You can specify your mail server on the Portal.
Go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> UM Configuration.
You will find a field there to specify your mail Server.
You may also have to specify this in the config tool of your WAS Server to enable email notification

I configured the same way. When I am sending email to an account on the same domain as my SMTP server is the sending of email is successful. But its giving error when I am trying to send an emain to an account which is on different domain. It giving error as "Operation has been cancelled"

How i configure the log4j.xml in weblogic server

i write a new lg4j.xml and i put this in WEB-INF/classes,i deployed this jar in my remote server,but it not reflected. [i am not specify the server logs, we have some API's which is deployed in server for that API log files is configured using log4j.xml ]
i saw there is a option in weblogic - setDomain -LOG4J_CONFIG_FILE='here we give the path for log4j.xml'.I think it's only work for local machines not for the remote machines.

Different product.
Schema 1 used the old iPlanet Delegated Admin.
Schema 2 uses Delegated Admin, based on Identity Server.
As far as I know, failover is not in this product.

3. Now, create a JMS System Module to hold the JMS resources like Queues, Topics, Connection Factory, SAF agents etc..

4. Now, create a resource like connection factory OR queue etc.

How to configure a error queue for weblogic jms topic

Hi guys.
I want to configure a error queue for weblogic jms topic. Wanted: The message goes to error destination when messages have expired or reached their redelivery limit.
1. using jms transport configure proxy service:
Retry Count :3
Retry Interval:10
Error Destination: ErrorTopic
Expiration Policy: Redirect
I tried use the proxy service to consume message from the jms topic . and generation an error in the proxy message flow. But the message didn't goes into the error topic.
Any suggestions for this topic? Can anyone provide some helps or any useful links.

Expiration olicy: RedirectUnlike File/SFTP, JMS proxy service definition does not have the concept of Error Destination. To accomplish similar functionality go to JMSQ on (for which proxy is configured) server console (http://localhost:7001/console) and configure the Error Destination. But the message didn't goes into the error topic.If every thing is configured as per above step, then the after retries, the weblogic server will put the message into JMS topic configured. Your proxy will receive from this topic.
