Configure directiry server failover for delegated admin schema 2

Hello,
I am using Delegated Admin for Schema 2 on solaris 9 sparc platform.
I want to configure directory servers failover for delegated admin.
Unfortunately I havent found any clue for the same.
Can anyone help me?

Different product.
Schema 1 used the old iPlanet Delegated Admin.
Schema 2 uses Delegated Admin, based on Identity Server.
As far as I know, failover is not in this product.

Best Practise to lock down server 2012 for Junior Admins

We require locking down the desktop for junior admins. Essentially we would like for them to only access specific tools and applications.
Below are examples of specific tools they would require access to however, if we want to block out everything else then what is the best way to go about that? I would image a combination of group rights? how best to handle this?

Configuring name server in j2ee visual admin

hi all
i found the go.bat file in the following path in my system
/usr/sap/EEP/JC00/j2ee/admin/go.bat
now i want to run that "go.bat" but i don't know how to run this in linux machine but my portal server is installed in linux machine.so, can any one help me how to run that file in order to configure name server .
and also can any one tell me how to find out the server name and port number in order to fill the following format in name sererver
tcpip://<%nameserver%>:portnumber

yeah go file is there but while running the following was displayed

Weblogic does not support failover for the admin server.

There is a single point of failure in the current weblogic architecture. If the
admin server dies there is no automatic alternate admin server.

That is true, and we plan to fix it in one of the next major releases. Currently
the story is not as bad as it appears to be for following reasons:
1. Failure of admin server doesn't mean failure of already running managed server.
2. You can start a new server as admin server of domain with discover flag=true and
it will recognize all already exisiting managed server.

Configure DHCP Server options for Internet Sharing?

Good morning, all.
I have a Sprint (Sierra 595U) AirCard internet connection, which I'm sharing over my AirPort (using OS X's built-in Internet Sharing) to several Windows clients in my office. I see that when Sharing is enabled, en1 takes on the address 10.0.2.1 by default, as well as the role of default gateway/router and DHCP server for the Windows clients.
My question is: Can I configure the IP addresses and DHCP options for Internet Sharing to another address/mask scheme?
Just like I changed my home wireless network away from the default 192.168.1.0/24 for security reasons, I'd like to do the same here.

We have a new admin starting and I would like to create custom event log view shortcut on there desktop for each server they need to check. Is there a way to do this in Server 2012 and Server 2008?
I have figured out how to create a shortcut of the Application and System log, but not Custom Views. Thanks.

this.However, I tried miltiple ways to create a shortcut of the custom view of the event viewer and no result. I can only create a shortcut of the event viewer. You may need a script can achieve that.

Error while configuring WebLogic Server Resources for PIP.

As per the documentation I am able to build all PIP cartridges.
But while creating resources on weblogic I'm getting below error in build file.I'm following same instuction as per document.

Use roles and/or cos for delegated administration?

I am using iDS 5.1 SP1. I want managers of departments to be able to modify certain attributes of people in their department. I am aware of the userdnattr aci keyword but I read in the 5.1 admin manual that it is being deprecated.
Here is our current set up. We have an ou=people and an ou=departments. People are in ou=people and their entries have an attribute that denotes their department membership by a department code. The departments are in ou=departments with an entry for each department listing basic information like name, address, telephone, and the department code. They could contain other attributes like mamanger to make a roles and/or cos mechanism for delegated admin work. So fee free to suggest anything. The departments are there merely for lookup purposes now and are not connected to the people entries.
The main issue I cannot grasp is how to easily enable managers to modify entries in their respective departments. I could add managers to the department entries and based on the department code in the department entry somehow match that to a department code in a people entry? I am thinking there is a cool way to do this with roles and/or cos, but can't figure out how and what aci to create.
Also if there is an easy way to do this with groups let me know.

Hi,
From the word "Failover" this means you are doing Active-Passive configuration for weblogic Admin server. For Active-Passive clustering, without shared storage you can do it. But the domain directory should be on a storage mount point, when node -1 will do down the same mount point should be mounted to node2.

From schema 1 to schema 2 migration delegated admin problem

I want migrate from schema 1 to schema 2 the messaging server 6.2 ( jes 2005q1).
I have install access manager and delegated admin.
With the commdirmig I migrate the domain and schema , the messaging work correctly.
I have a problem with the delegated admin web interface.
The delegated don't view my domain. If I add the sundelegatedorganization objectclass I can view my domain on delegated admin but I can view user and group.
Any Idea?

There are two very different products called "deletaged admin". The old iPlanet Delegated Admin (iDA) only works with Schema 1. The current Delegated Admin, that comes with JES3 only works with Schema 2.
If you're using the old iDA that worked with schema 1, it won't work with schema 2. You have to install the new DA for that.
It doesn't work with groups/lists, only with users and domains.

Service Accounts for Reporting Service in SQL Server Failover Cluster setup

I am setting up 2 Report Services (SSRS) in SQL Failover Clustering (Version: 2012SP1) on Windows 2012, as part of scale out architecture.
There are 2 options to configure the service account for SSRS:
Option 1) Using domain accounts, as what I have done for DB Engine and SQL Agent.
Option 2) accept the default, which is virtual account for SSRS. Per documentation URL:

which is the recommended one? is it option 2?
There is security note on above URL as well, but does not clearly mention that option 1 is not recommended.

of a shared account for SQL Server services. Use separate accounts for different SQL Server services. Do not grant additional permissions to the SQL Server service account or the service groups. Permissions will be granted through group membership or granted
directly to a service SID, where a service SID is supported.

In SQL Server Failover Cluster Instance, personally two options can run well. If you use the virtual account for SQL Server Reporting Service. Virtual accounts in Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 are managed local accounts that provide the features to
simplify service administration. The virtual account is auto-managed, and the virtual account can access the network in a domain environment.
Of cause, you can also use domain accounts in your clustering.

How to configure mail server for subscription

Hi,
I want to test subscription. My problem is how to configure the mail server.
As to my understanding, we need first configure mail server, then the user can choose "Subscribe" in the Details screen of a folder.
My steps are:
1. In KM - CM - Utilities - Channels, specify SMTP server, userId and password.
2. In KM - CM - Utilities - Channel originators, set the Original address for notificator.EMAIL.
3. In KM - Collaboration - Groupware Transport - Mail Transport, specify SMTP server and sent message folder.
After that, when I choose a user and click "Send email", it failed saying "Failed to communicate with SMTP server when sending the email.".
Could anyone tell me what's wrong with my configuration, or what should I do to make subscription work?

According to your steps:
1. set up a mail transport and making notification and mailing service active.
In System admin - KM - CM - Global services, I've enabled Inbox, Mailing and Notification services.
In KM - CM - Collaboration - Groupware Transport, I've set up a mail transport:
Name: JavaMailTransport
SMTP Server: smtp.yahoo.com
Sent message folder: /documents
System alias name: mytransport
2. Give everyone read permission on notifications in KM.
Where can I set user's permission on notifications? I think you mean folder /etc/notifications, but I don't know how to set permissions.
3. Check if proper id's are maintained in users profile.
How to do this?

How to change the machine name for the admin server?

Hi, I've incorrectly set the machine name for my admin server. I now need to change this, but it's not editable (WLS 10.3.3).
Is there a way to edit configuration files to get it changed?

Seems all I needed to do was edit config/config.xml (under my domain's path) and change the machine name manually (before shutting the admin server down).

Trust ALL root Certifications in Windows not working for non-Admins on Terminal Server

I have been trying to setup a verification process that will allow us to us Active Directory Certifications to verify signatures. I have finally found the setting to use the Windows Store after not getting Adobe to query our Certificate Authority. It works great on our local desktop where users have Admin access, but when users do it on our Terminal Server it does not allow it. I thought the issue was access to a configuration file in the Adobe directory, but I found the setting in the Registry set correctly. But does not work correctly. One additional note is I had noticed that after I enabled it on a Non-Admin, is Adobe would say it crashed after I shut it down.
My question is what type of privilege do you need, or maybe Adobe need to access the Windows Cert Store from a Terminal Server with a non-Admin because it is not validating after confirming the Setting is enabled.

hello, since version 26 firefox is able to auto-update on windows even for non-admin users (when the mozilla maintenance service is getting installed in the original configuration): http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/26.0/releasenotes/#whatsnew
those would be the auto-updates provided by mozilla directly - so i'm not sure if this is something that would fit in your environment. installing the .exe file of a new version (available at [https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/]) on top of an older version will also update the program.
