How to configure JIT compiler

i installed J2SE 1.4.1 in my machine.I want to know JIT is installed along with that.If so how to change the default compiler(hotspot) in to JIT Compiler.
Which compiler gives faster performance.Whether is it Hotspot and JIT.

No, JIT is not installed.
You can check by calling System.getProperty("java.compiler"), which returns null.

Same issue here.
I just waited a few minutes and the interface went down and back up, this time it was a L3 interface.
My guess is that it was booting the switch module IOS, and it detected it until it was fully booted:

• How to configure send mail ?

Hi,
How to configure send mail ?
O/S is OEL-5.8 64-bit.
Thanks.

Sendmail uses the M4 macro processor to compile the configuration files. There is no GUI, if that is what you are looking for.
The configuration depends on what you want to accomplish and how email needs be routed in your environment.
You can find many tutorials and scenarios in Google:

please help me out

Hi Sky-
It looks like you have a web application only.
You need to create a war file as described above. A war file is a jar'd file containing your web components, including your javabean class files, etc. JDeveloper 9i can do this for you. You've already done the hard work. Suppose that the project you have created that contains your javabeans, etc in JDev 9i is called myproject (with myproject.jpr as the project file). Right click on the myproject.jpr in the JDev navigator and select 'new...', go to Deployment Profiles and select J2EE Web Module (WAR File) - a general screen will pop up asking you to save the deployment profile (you can just use the default if you want). Once you select OK on that, you will get a screen that calls itself the J2EE Web Module Deployment Profile Settings. This is the screen that you can use to enter your information.
Your servlet and javabean classes will go into WEB-INF/classes subdirectory that you see to your left in this window. Simply select the WEB-INF/classes entry and it will display a list of your java sources (it will only place the compiled output in this directory - there is a toggle for it).
Once you have specified that your javabean and servlet classes go in this directory, you should be set. Go ahead and save / close. In your navigation screen under your project (myproject.jpr or whatever your project name is) you will see your files, jsps, etc and something called webapp1.deploy (if you accepted the default). If you right-click on that, you will get a menu that asks a number of things, one of which is to Deploy to EAR file. Select that entry and it will create an ear file for you. You can play with the various settings to change the name of the ear file, but that's about all you have to do. Once this is completed, you can put the EAR file on your linux box or wherever you want, adjust your server.xml and default-web-app.xml files and launch the app!
Good luck!
Ray
Hi,Ray
Thank you for giving me the detail information!
I'm sorry that I can not give the detail and clear problem ,which make you delusoried.
ok,now I give you my aim.
1. I will construct my application system with JavaBean(not EJB),Servlet,JSPs (linux+IAS+JDeveloper+Oracle8i database)
2. I will package business function with JavaBean. example:
* CheckLogin.java
package com.beautybeard.eosp.javabean.usrprofile;
import com.beautybeard.eosp.common.*;
import com.beautybeard.eosp.data.*;
import java.io.*;
import java.lang.*;
public class CheckLogin{
public CheckLogin()
//do nothing here
public boolean getCheckLogin(){
3. I will control the request and response with Servlets.
example:
*CheckLoginSevlet.java
package com.beautybeard.eosp.servlet.usrprofile;
import javax.servlet.*;
import javax.servlet.http.*;
import java.io.*;
import java.util.*;
import java.sql.*;
import com.beautybeard.eosp.servlet.*;
import com.beautybeard.eosp.javabean.usrprofile.*;
public class CheckLoginServlet extends DefaultServlet
public void service(HttpServletRequest req,HttpServletResponse res) throws IOException, ServletException
//use the JavaBean
CheckLogin cl = new CheckLogin();
if (cl.getCheckLogin){
res.sendRedirect("login.jsp");
}else{
res.sendRedirect("err.jsp");
4. I will display the result with JSPs:
example:
<%//login.jsp%>
<%@ page import="com.beautybeard.eosp.common.*"%>
<%@ page import="com.beautybeard.eosp.data.*"%>
5. I have success on running the above steps in the 9iJDevelper(pure java) environment(OS:Windows 2000 Server), and now I will move the JSPs ,Servlets,JavaBeans to the Server(linux) without the JDeveloper's deployment wizard.
how to configure the IAS to carry my point?
thank you!
Sky liu

• How to configure Java Plug-In to use Firefox keystore

Does any one know how to configure Java Plugin 1.5.0 to use the Firefox kesystore either in Windows or in Linux environments?
I installed and configured 'JSS' based on the information available at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/deployment/deployment-guide/keystores .html.
but still the plugin is not using the keys from Firefox keystore.
I noticed the following messages in Java Console.
security: Accessing keys and certificate in Mozilla user profile: null
security: JSS is not configured
Thanks

I was having this same issue prior to installing the JSS on my machine.
I did not compile my own version of the code, but rather I took the jss34.jar file and put it in a 'jss' directory.
I also copied the jss3.dll and jss3.lib files into the directory where Firefox was installed.
That was all I had to do to get JSS to work for Firefox 1.0.4 and Mozilla 1.7.8.
If that still does not work for you, you always have the option to use the Java Plugin keystore instead of using the browser cache to authenticate certificates.
You can do that by doing the following on the Java Control Panel:
1. Click the 'Certificates' button on the Security tab
2. Import the certificate as a 'User' certificate (Make sure you select the appropriate certificate type)
3. Disable the 'Use certificates and keys in browser keystore' option under the 'Security' section of the 'Advanced' tab.
I hope that helps.

• JIT compiler and nested classes

Q1. how does JIT compile on fly and improve the performance ?
Q2. how is system.out.println(argument) implemented in java ? is it that system is a class in which out is a static nested class and println is a static method in out?

Hello rishiluvsjava,
Q1. How does JIT compile on fly and improve the performance?
The following answer was taken from "The Java HotSpot Performance Engine Architecure: A White Paper About Sun's Second Generation Performance Technology" to view the full document go to:
http://java.sun.com/products/hotspot/whitepaper.html
Just-In-Time (JIT) compilers are essentially fast traditional compilers that translate the Java-technology bytecodes into native machine code on-the-fly. A JIT runs on the end-user's machine which actually executes the bytecodes, and compiles each method the first time it is executed.
Q2. How is System.out.println(argument) implemented in java ? is it that system is a class in which out is a static nested class and println is a static method in out?
From the Java docs:
System is a public final class in the java.lang package. It has three fields:
static PrintStream err // The "standard" error output stream.
static InputStream in // The "standard" input stream.
static PrintStream out //The "standard" output stream.println is one of the methods in the java.io.PrintStream class.

• Repost : How to configure weblogic client in IBM JRE

Still haven't gotten this to work.
I'm trying to get a java client (Lotus Domino 6.0.1 java agent) app to
connect to
Weblogic 6.1 sp3.
Both (Domino / weblogic) run fine separately (on different machine both
win2k sp3).
Domino is running with IBM JRE version :
java version "1.3.1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1)
Classic VM (build 1.3.1, J2RE 1.3.1 IBM Windows 32 build cn131-20020710 (JIT
enabled: jitc))
I put weblogic.jar in the app's classpath but when i try to get an
InitialContext, I get the stack trace shown below. Anybody know how to
solve this this error?
Or how to configure a weblogic client (which normally expects a SUN JRE) to
use the IBM JRE.
Thanks.

Thanks.

• How to configure qpopper to authenticate against LDAP server

Hi,
This is re-post of my question:
I have directory server 6.0 set up on Solaris 9 system. Also, I have set up Solaris 9 system native LDAP client. The qpopper daemon is running on that client. I have re-compiled the qpopper to use PAM authentication, then 'kill -HUP' inetd. But when I try to connect to qpopper with PAM authentication, I got an error:
-ERR [AUTH] PAM authentication failed for user "nsr": No account present for user (13)
I do have user's account and I am able to retrieve the user's account information by 'ldaplist -l passwd nsr'. I guess it is related pam configuration problem, but I don't know how to configure pam for qpopper. The information provided by qpopper manual is listed below:
#%PAM-1.0
auth required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so shadow
account required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so
password required /lib/security/pam_cracklib.so
password required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so nullok
use_authtok md5 shadow
session required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so
Obviously, the example configuration is for Linux. So how I can configure Solaris pam.conf to have qpopper authenticate through pam?
My current pam.conf is listed here also:

• Jit compiler "symcjit" not found

while installing the database 8i enterprise edition on p4 , win 2000 the net8 configuration assistant succeeded but the oracle database configuration assistant failed.
note that i can still continuing the installation ... but the details on this error in the detail section note " warning jit compiler "symcjit not foubd.will use interpreter.
folderstarterdb is an invalid command line argument.
any solution please?

symcjit.dll is a library for the Just In Time compiler and this was an issue that made people think there was a but with the Pentium IV CPU. This was due to a but with the jit compiler included with the Oracle install media.
The problem was specifically when the install process took place on P-IV platfoms, the OUI graphical interface didn't appear. The workaround to solve this issue was to create a stage area where the symcjit.dll file was removed. Afterwards, the install ran smoothly. This should not be an issue during the regular oracle operation since the binaries included the correct symcjit.dll file, so it was not necessary to do anything else. If you removed not only the symcjit.dll file from the install media, but also from the Oracle Home then you can expect this error to show up.

• JMS with TomCat ? how to configure or install JMS

i am new to JMS i dont know how to configure JMS.I have copied ths javax.jms.jar and jms.jar in JDK1.4 directories like ../lib, jre/lib etc. also set the classpaths but i cant compile a simple file error saya no package found. can anyone help me please ???? webserver i am using is tomcat. tell me the solution step wise please be soon thakyou again. in advance ;)

when you say classpaths, you mean you added ../lib/jms.jar to your class path. that is you explicitly put the jar file in your path and it won't compile?

• How to configure LCDS 2.5.1 make use of Flex 3.0 SDK?

Hi,
I deployed LCDS 2.5.1 version which uses Flex 2.0 by default. Now i want to use Flex 3.0 with this LCDS. How to configure it? I tried to configure by modifying the library path and source path which points to Flex 3.0 SDK library and source path from the following file,

But it is not working properly. Can anyone please help me, how to change Flex 3.0 SDK lookup for LCDS 2.5.1?
Thanks,

You can download the Flex 3 compiler for J2EE applications and update the
compiler with the bits contained in that web application.

http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Downloads

Note that moving forward (LCDS 2.6 - in beta now) the MXML compiler will not
come with LCDS at all. It is now part of the SDK and must be configured
'manually' if you want to use it.

Probably the better thing to do is to compile your application with
FlexBuilder 3 instead of the web tier compiler, you will have much more
control over which Flex SDK you are using - plus you get a good IDE!

--
Tom Jordahl

<[email protected]> wrote in message
news:[email protected]..
> Hi,
>
> I deployed LCDS 2.5.1 version which uses Flex 2.0 by default. • How to configure a Chart item in VC model

Hi
I am having problem in configuring a chart in VC model.
In my VC model my query output or chart input is Cal Month/Year (Last 12 Months) and revenue. So there will always be 12 rows in output
My requirement is to draw a Column chart for the above query output so that in X-Axis Cal Month/Year
I made the following setting/config for chart item
Chart Type: Column
Data Series: Stacked
Category Axis: Cal_year_month_ext_key
Value Axis: Blank (Default Settings)
Data Series: @revenue
When I compiled, Deployed and executed the modeu2026output is
In X axis all the 12 months are displayed but only the first row value is being displayed in the graph for all the months
Please update me on how to configure a graph
Thanks

Hello,
If you have only calmonth in the rows and revenue in your columns of your bi query
pls try using a column chart with "clustered" data series rather than a stacked one
since you have a single data series .

• How to configure channels with Spring-Flex?

Newbie here trying to get my first Flex/BlazeDS app up and running. I'm using the Spring-Flex integration and believe I have properly configured my servet and remoting destinations. My only remaining questions relate to how to configure the channels.
The use of the Spring/BlazeDS integration means that I do not have to have a remoting-config.xml file anymore. But it the documentation is unclear as to whether I need to configure my channels within a services-config.xml file still.
If I do need a services-config.xml file (and I think I do), how does one get away without hard coding the server URL? I've seen samples on the web like:
url="https://\{server.name\}:\{server.port\}/flex2gateway/cfamfsecure"
But I don't get when/where/what does the dynamic substituion? They almost look like Maven or Spring properties, but they can't be. Is this just something that has to be manually changed after installation?
Finally, I really don't like the idea of compiling the Flex client against a server-side configuration file as I have seen suggested on the web. How would one go about have the Flex client discover - or otherwise figure out what it needs to do dynamically?
Sorry for the multi-question post....thanks for any help!

You could load that info from an XML file as described below. I took this from the doc.
To further externalize configuration, you can pass the endpoint URL value to the client at runtime. One way to do this is by reading a configuration file with an HTTPService component at application startup. The configuration file includes the information to programmatically create a channel set at runtime. You can use E4X syntax to get information from the configuration file.
The following MXML application shows this configuration file technique:

<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
applicationComplete="configSrv.send()">
<mx:Script>

import mx.controls.Alert;
import mx.messaging.channels.AMFChannel;
import mx.messaging.ChannelSet;
import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent;
private var channelSet:ChannelSet;
private function configResultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void
var xml:XML = event.result as XML;
var amfEndpoint:String = "" + xml..channel.(@id=="amf").@endpoint;
if (amfEndpoint == "")
Alert.show("amf channel not configured", "Error");
else
channelSet = new ChannelSet();
var channel:AMFChannel = new AMFChannel("my-amf", amfEndpoint);
channelSet.addChannel(channel);
ro.channelSet = channelSet;
ro.getProducts();

</mx:Script>
<mx:HTTPService id="configSrv" url="config.xml" resultFormat="e4x" result="configResultHandler(event)"/>
<mx:RemoteObject id="ro" destination="product"/>
<mx:DataGrid dataProvider="{ro.getProducts.lastResult}" width="100%" height="100%"/>
</mx:Application>
The MXML application reads the following configuration file:

<config>
<channels>

</channels>
</config>

I would like to know what is a JIT compiler and how it works.My understanding of JIT compiler is that it is a compiler that takes in as input the bytecode and gives native code as output which is then interpretted by interpretter.I guess JIT compiler helps in speedig up the loops, but i dont know how.Could someone explain JIT and its features in detail or provide a useful link where i could get these details.
Thanks!!Have a Great Day!

Hi,
Thanks a lot guys. Well both the artciles were great.So to my understanding now......the portion of code which is bieng compiled by JIT need not be interpretted by Interprettor......am i right?so what JIT does is ...it converts the bytecode into series of intsructions that are understood by the underlying microporocessor......and the mp executes the instructions.......am i correct?
i have another doubt.......take a small pece of program which has no loop.........
int a =5;
int b= 6;
int c= a +b;
in this case if u use JIT compiler time taken will be
time taken by JIT to convert bytecode to machin code + time taken by CPU to execute the entire code.
in the caseof using interprettor :
well i guess interpretter executes each line at a time, so it converts the byte code into machine code one line at a time and CPU executes it.
so time taken is
time taken by Interprettor to convert each line of bytecode to machine code + time taken by CPU to execute each line of code.
SO I guess JIT compiler wud be faster.SO wudnt it be advantageous over inteprettor in all cases?Or does JIT compiler waste time in optimizing small pieces of code which does not reqiure optimization in which cases interpretter is quicker?
Thanks!
