How to configure JMS-Server to use username and password
Hi
Maybe this is a real stupid question, but please help me, I'm not very experienced using JMS:
I'm using JMS (provided by OC4J / Application Server 10.1.3). I configured a ConnectionFactory (without username and password) and a Queue and there is also a application, which successfully opens the JMS-Connections.
This works well as long as I do not provide a username und password in the ConnectionFactory (EnterpriseManager: OC4J/Admin/Services/JMS-provider...). If I do this, my application terminates with the following stacktrace:
javax.jms.JMSSecurityException: JMSServer[aplora2:12602]: failed to authenticate "myuser/mypassword", no such user.

at sam.model.messages.MessageManager.<init>(MessageManager.java:74)
where "myuser" and "mypassword" are the username and password I entered in the ConnectionFactory. (My Application certainly uses the same username and password)
I expected, that by entering username and password here I would configure my Queue to be protected by them. But obviously there are some very basic things I didn't understand. Can anyone give me a hint, how I can protect the (OC4J-) JMS-Server or the Queue by username and password?
Thanks for your help

Hey Frank -
Assuming you've set up users in the "Security Manager" for your application, you can specify what JNDI resources they can "read" (and thus also connect to) via the orion-application.xml file. Look at the following snippet from the orion-application.xml file:
<namespace-access>
<read-access>
<namespace-resource root="jms/firstQueue">
<security-role-mapping impliesAll="false" name="jmsSecurity">
<user name="scooter"/>
</security-role-mapping>
</namespace-resource>
</read-access>
<read-access>
<namespace-resource root="delme">
<security-role-mapping impliesAll="false" name="jmsSecurity">
<group name="messagingUsers"/>
</security-role-mapping>
</namespace-resource>
</read-access>
</namespace-access>
This would say that only the user "scooter" that you've set up would have access to the Queue whose JNDI name begins with jms/firstQueue. Anyone you've set up and added to a messagingUsers group would have access to any Queues whose JNDI name begins with "delme". (I'm honestly not sure what exactly this line does: <security-role-mapping impliesAll="false" name="jmsSecurity">)
This is the only way I've found to limit access to a particular Queue.
HTH.
Scott

How to configure JMS server in weblogic
Hi,
I want to configure JMS server in weblogic.So please send me needful link.
Regards
AnupHi Anup,
1. The first thing you have to do is create a filestore where messages will be stored. Look at the below link for more detailed instructions:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/stores/CreateFileStores.html
2. Next create a JMS server. Look at the below link for more detailed instructions
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/jms_servers/ConfigureJMSServers.html
3. Now, create a JMS System Module to hold the JMS resources like Queues, Topics, Connection Factory, SAF agents etc..
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/jms_modules/modules/ConfigureJMSModules.html
4. Now, create a resource like connection factory OR queue etc.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/jms_modules/modules/ConfigureJMSModuleResources.html
For now, lets stick to the basics and create a basic queue using the below documentation unless you exactly know what resource you want to create
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/jms_modules/queues/CreateQueues.html
5. You will also need to create a connection factory to use the resource. See below documentation
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/jms_modules/connection_factories/CreateConnectionFactories.html
Please go through the below JMS architecture diagram as well as documentation that will tell you what JMS on WebLogic is all about in terms of configuration
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/e13738/overview.htm#i1084283

OSB Authentication using username and password (plaintext or digest)
Hi,
I want to implement a simple osb authentication using username/password (plain text or digest) , so that client required to provide username password token in soap header (message Level security) to access our webservices. I have read some of articles which shows how to create custom ws policy, but received following error during deployment.
weblogic.wsee.ws.init.WsDeploymentException: The WebLogic Server 9.x-style policy is not supported in JAX-WS web services
Please note - I can not install OWSM as part of my requirement

</wssp:SecurityToken>
</wssp:SupportedTokens>
</wssp:Identity>
</wsp:Policy>You can use the default Auth.xml WS policy in OSB and be able implement the authentication using username and plain text password.
Just assign the Auth.xml on the Request Policies of the Proxy Service (under Policies).
Then use any user credentials that has access to the domain for testing.
If you want to restrict access for each operation then in the Security tab, under Message Access Control, specify a Role.
Then in the OSB > Security Configuration, create the appropriate role with the specific role conditions like User is User1 or User is User2 etc ...
Hope this helps.

Avoid using Username and password in SOAP Envelope
Hi Team
I am working on calling the sercured web-service from PLSQL and able to call it successfully and get the response.
In the SOAP envelope, I have header and body.
Header contains the WS Security which includes username and password to authenticate the web-service and body contains the actual input pay load for service.
Currently, header has username and password as 'hard-coded', is there a way to avoid the usage of username and password.
We already tried to SIF for EBS methodology where in following steps are done:
1) Create and event in EBS.
2) Pass the event along with payload to SOA.
3) SOA receives the event and triggers web-service and gets the response.
4) Pass the response to EBS.
This technique does avoid usage of username and password but takes 20 seconds to do the job. However, the appraoch above takes hardly 1 second.
Please let me know in case any one has any idea on how to avoid credentials usage in SOAP envelope.
Thanks
Mirza TanzeelHow about doing away with that approach entirely?
Password authentication requires one to keep a secret, secret. And that is the primary problem as how does one safely guard the secret, and manage the secret (by regularly changing)?
Relying on secrets is a problem. I have never been a fan of password based security.
Instead:
a) use HTTPS to secure communication between sender and receiver
b) use robust firewall rules to ensure that only sender is allowed to communicate with receiver
c) implement sound network management and exception reporting (to detect and prevent violations on network infrastructure level)
If you lack in the network infrastructure and administration areas, then:
a) make the web service endpoint on server on localhost only (do not expose it to the outside world)
b) establish a trusted ssh connection between sender and receiver using strongly encrypted RSA/DSA keys
c) configure sender with a service that opens a reverse tunnel to target, exposing the web service as a local port on its localhost -
How to catch exception while validating the username and password in hbm
Hi,
I do want to set the username and password dynamically in hibernate.cfg.xml
Here below is my configuration file.
{code<hibernate-configuration>
<session-factory>
<property name="hibernate.bytecode.use_reflection_optimizer">false</property>
<property name="hibernate.connection.driver_class">oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver</property>
<property name="hibernate.connection.pool_size">10</property>
<property name="show_sql">true</property>
<property name="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.OracleDialect</property>
<property name="hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto">update</property>
<property name="current_session_context_class">thread</property>
<property name="show_sql">true</property>
</session-factory>
</hibernate-configuration>{code}
Also im getting that session factory object like the below code.
public class Sessions { private static SessionFactory sessionFactory; private static Configuration configuration = new Configuration(); static { try { String userName = GuigenserviceImpl.userName; String password = GuigenserviceImpl.password; String hostName = GuigenserviceImpl.hostName; String portNo = GuigenserviceImpl.portNo; String sId = GuigenserviceImpl.sId; configuration .setProperty("hibernate.connection.username", userName); configuration .setProperty("hibernate.connection.password", password); configuration.setProperty("hibernate.connection.url", "jdbc:oracle:thin:@" + hostName + ":" + portNo + ":" + sId); try { configuration.configure("/hibernate.cfg.xml"); sessionFactory = configuration.buildSessionFactory(); GuigenserviceImpl.strAccpted = "true"; } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); GuigenserviceImpl.strAccpted = "false"; } } catch (HibernateException hibernateException) { GuigenserviceImpl.strAccpted = "false"; hibernateException.printStackTrace(); } catch (Throwable ex) { GuigenserviceImpl.strAccpted = "false"; ex.printStackTrace(); throw new ExceptionInInitializerError(ex); } } public static SessionFactory getSessionFactory() { return sessionFactory; }
So, in this above scenario, suppose if im giving the wrong password means exception should be caught and the string variable "GuigenserviceImpl.strAccpted" should be assigned to false.
But im getting the SQL Exception only in console like wrong username and password. And finally i couldn't able to catch the exception in Sessions class, static block.
Anyone can help me in catching that SQL Exception in my Sessions class and i need to handle that SQL Exception in my class.
Im getting this following exception message in my console.

Kothandaraman N.Hi,
Myself hardcoded that username and password checking like the below code.
String name = loginData.get("userName").toString();
String pswd = loginData.get("pswd").toString();
String hstName = loginData.get("hName").toString();
String prtNo = loginData.get("portNo").toString();
String sid = loginData.get("sId").toString();
SessionFactory sessionFactory = null;
try {
if (name.trim().equals(userName) && pswd.trim().equals(password)
&& hstName.trim().equals(hostName)
&& prtNo.trim().equals(portNo) && sid.trim().equals(sId)) {
sessionFactory = Sessions.getSessionFactory();
strAccpted = "true";
} else {
strAccpted = "false";
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
strAccpted = "false";
}I have my own values in string objects, then comparing that values with the values from login form. If both values are matching, then i will do configurations in hibernate.
ResourceBundle resourceBundle = ResourceBundle
.getBundle("com.beyon.ezygui.server.Queries");
public static final String connection_url = resourceBundle
.getString("connection.url");
public static final String userName = resourceBundle.getString("userName");
public static final String password = resourceBundle.getString("password");
public static final String hostName = resourceBundle.getString("hostName");
public static final String portNo = resourceBundle.getString("portNo");
public static final String sId = resourceBundle.getString("sId");The above are the String objects i'm checking for the match with values from login form.
Thanks & Regards,

How can we disable " XDB Requires a username and password"?
Hello,
I've just performed an Apex 4 installation on top of a DB 11.2.0.2.
All is fine.
No problem fine with FF, IE and Safari, but with Chrome I always have a pop up saying " The server XXXX: port at XDB requires a username and password".
How can I disable that, or fix it definitively?
Thanks
FredSure.
On my system Anonymous and XDB account were already unlocked and both used the same password.
I simply executed the PL/SQL block that you can find here: http://www.apexexplorer.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/XDB-Password-Issue.pdf
I bounced the listener.
Hope that help

Configure a Cisco router with Username and Password.
Hello Guys,
Am quite new in cisco and i need to configure an 891 cisco router,can someone please show me step by step configuration commands for configuring Username and Secret Password.I would like the router to ask for "Username"and " Password" anytime i want to login the router through telnet.I also want to know if i have to erase the default configurations on the router first, before i start the configuration,and how it should be done in other not to loose the router whiles working on it.Thanks for your usual quick responds.
Regards,
Eben.Hello Eben,
Peter has suggested to use SSH because of the fact that telnet data is sent in clear text, so someone with the right tools could easily find your password and your device could/would be compromised. It is security best practice. SSH is encrypted.
Technically speaking you do not need to change the hostname / domain name. But majority of Cisco documentation follow this method.
In case you are interested on how to do this without change... see below.
Router(config)#
Router(config)#crypto key generate rsa modulus 1024
% Please define a hostname other than Router.
Router(config)#crypto key generate rsa modulus 1024 label CISCO
The name for the keys will be: CISCO
% The key modulus size is 1024 bits
% Generating 1024 bit RSA keys, keys will be non-exportable...[OK]
Router(config)#
*Jul 11 13:27:51.431: %SSH-5-ENABLED: SSH 1.99 has been enabled
Router(config)#
The normal cases just as shown in Cisco documentation, the parser (without a label on the crypto key) would force us to change the hostname, create a domain name. I think the domain name is there to put a label on the keys.
Router(config)#crypto key generate rsa general-keys modulus 1024
% Please define a hostname other than Router.
Router(config)#crypto key generate rsa
% Please define a hostname other than Router.
Router(config)#hos
Router(config)#hostname ISR
lexnetISR(config)#crypto key generate rsa general-keys modulus 1024
% Please define a domain-name first.
ISR(config)#ip domain name net.com
ISR(config)#exit
ISR(config)#crypto key generate rsa general-keys modulus 1024
The name for the keys will be: ISR.net.com
% The key modulus size is 1024 bits
% Generating 1024 bit RSA keys, keys will be non-exportable...[OK] -
How do I save more than one username and password for a site?
<blockquote>Locking duplicate thread.<br>
Please continue here: [[/questions/918629]]</blockquote>
I manage two online calendar accounts under one website (both account admin centers actually have their own URL but the main root of the webpage is the same). My "user ID" (which is my e-mail address) is the same for both accounts.
Firefox used to associate the user ID and password with the ENTIRE URL so, in effect, it would remember them for BOTH admin centers. Now it seems to only remember the main root webpage (www.samplepage.com instead of www.samplepage.com/adminloginA).
How do I get it to remember the ENTIRE URL instead of just the root? I need it to remember both usernames and passwords.
Thanks!That is not possible with the Firefox password manager. You can only save a user name and its password once for a specific domain, so if the name is the same then it doesn't work.

How do I save more than one username and password for one website?
First, let me say that I'm extremely irritated that I just spent 15 minutes writing a very detailed question and researching my OS, browser version, etc. only to have it all erased because I didn't "verify" my e-mail before I started typing my question. Firefox: please fix your sign-up and question posting process so this doesn't happen. It should retain your info for a smooth process after you verify. What a waste of time and effort when I'm already frustrated.
ACTUAL QUESTION: I manage two online calendars under one root URL (www.samplepage.com/calendar1 and www.samplepage.com/calendar2). My e-mail address is the user ID for both accounts but the passwords are different.
FF used to associate your username and password with the ENTIRE URL but now it only associates with the root (www.samplepage.com). So, for me, it will only remember one password.
How can I get it to remember BOTH passwords?
Thanks!That is not possible with the Firefox password manager. You can only save a user name and its password once for a specific domain, so if the name is the same then it doesn't work.

Firefox with proxy configured keeps on asking for username and password
This was asked a while ago, but no solution every posted.
I use FF at work with a proxy. When I upgraded to FF28, an "old" problem came back - FF constantly pops up a window saying the Proxy is asking for a username and password. I did nit have this problem with the previous version of FF. It doesn't seem to remember the password, and will ask several times for the same page. Has gotten so disruptive I've moved over to Chrome for now.
Thoughts on why this issue started again with FF28? Thoughts on how I can get it to stop and make the browser usable again?See:

How do you change the old Apple ID username and password to the updated username and password in order to get updated apps from the app store?
cbkitche wrote:

Do you mean you kept the same account but you only updated your AppleID?
Just log out and log back in with new ID.
Note that the AppleID is embedded into the item at purchase and cannot be changed.
However, when you change your AppleID, it will link the old account name to the new account name so you will not have any problems updating apps using the new AppleID. -
I just had my macbook pro cleaned out and restored to it's original facory settings. i cannot access set up assistant to configure my username and password for the computer. it does not recognize my old username and password and I can't find where to enter this information.
Unless you erased the drive then reinstalled Mavericks you will not see the Setup Assistant to configure your initial admin account. I have no idea just what you did. But to reset to factory state means you had to first install the version of OS X that came with the computer on the gray labeled DVDs. For your model that would have been a version of Leopard. If you have a Snow Leopard DVD then you can use that instead. The process is:
Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer. Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the "C" key. Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.) Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
install of OS X. You can now begin the update process by opening Software
Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Once you have 10.6.8 running you can enter the App Store with your Apple ID and re-download Mavericks to upgrade to 10.9.2. -
The same question keeps popping up again and again "The proxy moz-proxy://proxy.iitm.ac.in:3128 is requesting a username and password. The site says: "moz-proxy://proxy.iitm.ac.in:3128""
Even after i give the right details, it asks me like 5 more times before it completely loads the page. Some times it happens only 2 times.
With other browsers like chrome, it asks only in the beginning. it doesn't occur after that.
This started occurring only recently. i upgraded to firefox 9.0 and it functioned properly for more than 12 hours before it started occuring. i tried downgrading back to 8.0.1 but the problem still continued.i'm afraid i need to use proxy settings to connect to internet. The settings are all fine because it used to work properly all this time. i specify the proxy address and the port, which is correct, i am very confident. it is so because the page actually loads on firefox, but not before it asks for my user name and password for it a lot of times, and for every page. for other browsers, it asks only in the beginning, that is, when i start the browser.
i've put three pics here. under the first two settings, the third image showing the user name and password thingy popping up. this happens a lot of times for every page.
