How to Connect Backend R/3 system to EP 2004S

Hi Friends - I am new in the EP field. We have installed EP.
We want to connect to backend R/3 system from EP.
I have created a system for the backend R3 ECC system. But the connection test is failing.
"Test Connection with Connector
Results
Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct."
Also the ITS and WAS tests are also failing.
"SAP Web AS Connection
Results
1. The system ID is valid
2. Retrieval of the system was successful
3. The system object represents an SAP system
4. The following parameters are valid: WAS Protocol (http) WAS Host Name (mb1es1005.idcsap.com:8001)
5. HTTP/S connection failed"
Can you pls guide me on how to configure the same?
1. What are the step wise configurations I have to do?
2. Is there any configuration I have to do in the R3 system? ike RFC connections and other settings?
3. What are the settings I have to do in the EP system?
Pls guide me on the same.
Thanks in advance and warm regards
Purnendu

Hi Maiti,
first thing is, first try with user mapping, if you succed in this then only go for login tickets method. both are different ways to connect to R/3 systems under SSO.
create system by selecting template for "sap system using dedicated application server".
then add the follo parameters:
Application host: ur FQDN for R/3 system
Gateway host: same as Application host
Gateway service: sapgw00
Logon method: select Uid/PW
Remote host type:select 3
SAP client: enter ur SAP client (001 generally)
SAP SID: ur SID
SAP Sys number:00 (or 01 )
server port: 3200
System type: select R/3
user mapping type: select admin/user
validate connection: no
(no need to set ITS and other properties they are optioal).
this much settings are enough. Then add a system alias for your system, by going in properties and select System Aliases.
now go in user admin, search for your current user, click on modify, click on user mappings..select your system, provide login id and password for your R/3 system.
save it.
Go ahead and create iVIew (Transaction iView) even though your connection test fails, it works. it will connect to ur backend R/3 system via iView without any error.
hope this helps you...

Yogesh...

    Hi Everyone ,
We are integrating SAP EP and BOE . We are facing SSO problem ,as there are 2 system in same environment .
Suppose we have XX1 and XX2 as BW backend system . IF Default entry on server is kept blank then we get :
"u2022  Account information not recognized: No SAP system was passed as part of the user name and there was no default system defined. User credential validation cannot continue. " error.
Whereas if we give XX1 as defaut system on server , then SSO is not happening we as are XX2 users .
Anyone has any idea on how to connect to multiple backend system in the same environment .

    Hi,
As you can see in the help link below:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/45/2f873d1ca96d7be10000000a114a6b/content.htm
There is a trust system and the trusted systems. One system can trust in many other systems. You have just to configure it exporting and importing the certificates as explained in the link.

  • How to connect SAP R/3- System with SAP NetWeaver Portal (2004s)?

    Hello to all,
sorry, can someone help me? How can I connect SAP R/3- System with SAP NetWeaver Portal (2004s)?
    Thanks and regards,
    Galyna

    Hi,
In previous link contain this info
This describes how to connect an SAP R/3 system to SAP NetWeaver Portal using an iView
    1)      Go to System Administration
    2)      Go to System Configuration
    3)      Go to Portal Content (Right Side Panel), open that folder.
    4)      Right Click on Portal Content, a Panel is displayed select "System (from Template)".
    5)      That will display a new view on right side, now select "SAP system using dedicated application server" from
the existing templates. (Other templates are possible - for example, load balanced or through a SAProuter connection string).
For this exercise, we'll use the simplest type.
    6)      Choose next
    7)      Give the System Name and System Id (which are mandatory fields) incase you want to give any brief notes
about the system then give them in the "Description" field.
    8)      Open the Newly Created System.
    9)      Now when you want to create a New System, you have to fill four Properties they are:
"Connector" - contains basic connectivty details
"Internet transaction Server (ITS) - if you wish to use SAPGUI for HTML and/or IACs",
"Web Application Server" - if you wish to access BSPs and/or Web Dynpro for ABAP and
    "User Management".
You also need at least one "System Alias" has to be defined from the Display drop down menu.
Make sure you have set end user access in the Permissions drop down menu to all users who need to access the system
    10)  Select "Connector" property, now fill the required fields such as:
    a)      Application Host (should be fully qualified hostname) - Give the R/3 "Application Name",
which can be obtained from the SAP Logon Pad (check what R/3 system you are using, right click on it , go to the properties,
it will open a window which has the Application Server Name.
    b)      Logical System Name - Give the logical name as defined in the backend system
    c)      SAP Client - Check the Client in the backend system and give the appropriate number (3 digits)
    d)      SAP System ID(SID)* - Check the R/3 properties and give the check for System ID
    e)      System Type* - Since we are connecting to R/3, select SAP_R3 system.
    f)       System Number - This is a two digit number that you can find in the SAP Logon Pad
    11)  Select "Internet transaction Server (ITS)" property, now fill the required fields like
    a)      ITS Description à Give some Description
    b)      ITS Host Name - Same as "Application Host" of R/3 (when integrated ITS) and should be attached with the
port number of ITS Server (to get port number detailed description is given below). ex: hostname : port number
    c)      ITS Path - To get the path along with the port number you have to Log on to R/3 system. Use the
Transaction Code "SICF", it opens a new window go to:
          default_host -> sap -> bc -> gui -> sap -> its -> webgui -> SAP GUI for HTML -> right click on
that and click "Test Service'. This will open a new window, on the address bar you will find the "port number", and
the path something like (/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui). Use the path after the port number.
    d)      ITS Protocol - There are two protocols "http" & "https", select the appropriate protocol which is
visible when you opened "Test Service" window.
    12)  Select "Web Application Server" property , now fill the required fields like
    a)      Web AS Description -> Give some Description
    b)      Web AS Host Name - same as ITS Host Name
    c)      Web AS Path - usually /sap/bc/bsp/sapd)*
Web AS Protocol - should be same as the ITS Protocol.
    13)   Select "User Management" property, now fill the required fields like
    a)      Authentication Ticket Type - Since we are not using SSO leave the field
empty i.e. put in select mode. (Please note that longer term you will probably want to use SSO)
    b)      Logon Method - Select UIDPW.
    c)      User Mapping Type - In case you have administration rights then you choose "admin" or in case you
just have user rights then choose "user", better go for "admin/user".
    14)   Since all the required fields are filled appropriately now create a System Alias name, this can be done by following steps:
    a) go to Display -> Select "System Aliases" give some Alias Name, let's call it "SAP_R/3"
    15)  Now that System is created we have to create a iView which will display the given Transaction Code.
    16)  Go To "Content Administration".
    17)  Go To "Portal Content".
    18)  Go to Portal Content (Right Side Panel), open that folder
    19)  Right Click on Portal Content, a Panel is displayed select "New" -> iView
    20)  Select iView template, click next
    21)  Select "SAP Transaction iView" from the list of templates available. Click next.
    22)  Give the iView name and iView ID. Incase you want to give any brief notes about the iView then give it in "Description" field. Click next
    23)   Select "SAP GUI for HTML" radio button. Click next
    24)  Now select the system which you have create "SAP_R/3", give some Transaction Code, say SE12 (Dictionary Display). Click next and Finish.
    25)  Now Preview the iView
    26)  You will see a new Window where in SE12 Dictionary Display window is displayed.

  • How to get Backend (R/3) system type

    Hi team,
Currently backend (R/3) system details are maintained in SPRO ->Supplier Relationship Management ->SRM Server -> Technical Basic Settings -> Define Backend Systems. Here we maintain entry of logical system, its description, RFC Destination, system type and other fields. Values of backend systems are used at lots of place by referring table BBP_BACKEND_DEST quoting system type in where clause of select query. Currently values of system type are hardcoded as R3470 but now our backend (R/3) system is upgraded to ECC6.0 and this can happen later as well whenever SAP plans for new release.
So now we are looking how we can remove this hardcoding from select query so that whenever system is upgraded, this detail need not to be changed. Please suggest the place either table or function module from where we can get details for system type.
    Thanks
    Siddarth

    Hello Siddarth,
When you have only one backend system, better way is to use BBP_GET_BACKEND_SYSTEMS function module instead of reading directly BBP_BACKEND_DEST table using SYS_TYPE as select criteria.
If more than one backend is linked to SRM, you have to use LOGSYS given by ET_LOGICAL_SYSTEMS table from function module above.
In this way, your logsys will be used as select criteria, depending on which backend must receive RFC call. It will be also hard coded in your select, but normally you never change a log system, contrary to system type (due to upgrade).
    Regards.
    Laurent.

  • How to connect 2 SAP BW systems to one SAP BO?

    Hi
Two companies from the group I'm working for wants to connect their BW system to corporate BO system.
BW system are independent of each other. My concern is about SSO authentication.
Will it be any problem to configure SSO between BO and BW if 2 BW systems are defined there?
Does any one face this kind of lanscape challenge before?
Any other issue should I be aware of?
    Thanks

    There are different possibilities.
Since you are saying that you already have a connection with SWIFTNet (Make sure you also have a Swift Alliance Gateway account without which you will not be able to post messages to SWIFTNet.), I assume that you also have the SAP BCM in place.
Now if you want to place a message via FIN/FileAct, you can write a custom program to create a file that is in line with the Swift standards. You can find the details of the file formats, etc.. from the SWIFT site. For FileAct, additionally you will have to create a .par file along with the .FTA file. This is for the FTA to understand the parameters.
Once that is done, you can place the files in a folder and configure the FTA to pick up these files. This is for FileAct.
For posting messages via FIN, you can have another program to post these files to SAG (SAG supports web services) via SOAP.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to Connect EP6 to Legacy Systems like RPG, DB2, AS 400 ?

    Hi All,
Being new to portal, have a requirement to build an application in EP6 which requires pulling data from Legacy systems like RPG,DB2,AS 400.
Is there any innovative way to accomplish this in EP6.
    Thanks,
    DK

    Hi Deepak,
portal can connect to DB2 atleast - not sure about the others. For connecting to DB2 you will require the JAR file which would give you the API to create the connection and execute the queries of your application. Like other database Jar files - the DB2 jar file is also located in <drive>:\usr\sap\<sys id>\<instance id>\j2ee\cluster\server0\bin\ext\com.sap.datadirect folder with the name P9db2.jar. I guess you can create a DataSource with the following JARs from this folder in the Visual Admin. The JAR files required would be:
    P9db2.jar, P9base.jar & P9util.jar.
Once the datasource is created you can use that in your java code for creating connection and firing queries.

  • Re: Connection To Home Audio System

I have currently upgraded my phone to the Nokia N80 which i have to admit is so far the best phone i have ever had to date. The problem i am having is trying to figure out how i can connect my phone to my Technics Audio system. It mentions something about the UPnP technology to be able to do this but so far after hours of searching on the internet i still have found nothing on how this can be done. I got all sorts of extra gadgets with my phone like headset, data cable and 2 other things, one of which is a small cable with the coding CA-44 on it and one of which looks like a bluetooth dongle which connects to your phone and has a small black square on the opposite end. Are these anything to do with how i connect to my audio system or can anyone help me with this matter. Thank you.

    Hi,
what you can also do that is less complex is get yourself the Nokia Music pack what you need is the Nokia Audio Adapter AD-15: Simply is Pop-Port to phone, 3.5 mm plug to headphones lets you listen to your phone's FM radio or MP3 player through your own standard stereo headphones, compatible car stereo, or audio amplifier
And ... the Nokia Audio Cable CA-72U: 3.5 mm connector to phone and two RCA connectors to home entertainment system connects your compatible phone to a home stereo system for stereo playback or recording.
Then you are good to go....
Check out the Nokia Music pack on http://www.europe.nokia.com/nokia/0,,83227,00.html?s=MusicPack

I recommend that you perform the access to Oracle through an EJB and consume this EJB in WebDynpro.

  • How to Call Same Adaptive RFC across different Backend R/3 Systems

    Hi Everyone,
I have been troubled for the last 3 or 4 days on how I should develop Web DynPro code to call the same RFC on different backend R/3 systems.  Don't really want to maintain my own Jco connects within a SAP Connector project and I don't really want to import 3 or 4 of the same models.  Can someone please inform what is the best approach?
    Thanks.

    Hi Glen,
There is one other way of doing this which needs a bit of data maintenance.
The webdynpro app will connect to one R/3 backend. In the same R/3 create RFC destinations to all others backends where the RFC's needs to be called. Create a table where u maintain for what value which backend system should be called. Add rfc_dest as an import paramter in all the RFCs in the backend system where the webdynpro app is connected and call those systems using RFC destinations.
For e.g. you have one HR system and multiple FI systems based on Company codes.
Connect your webdynpro app to the HR system. Create a table in the HR system which will contain data like given below
    CoCode                        RFC Destination
    1000                             RFCDEST1
    2000                             RFCDEST1
In the RFC's in HR system add both CoCode and RFC Destination as additional input parameters. From the front end u can pass different values and call the same RFC's from different systems.
