How to connect host server databse to run web application?

Hi all,
Hope doing well,
sir i am using oracle 11g there i created my db which is installed in other system. and one another system i have the web application.
now i have to run the web application to use of that db which is installed in other system.
i set the connection string in web.config.
but it's not working.
could you help me.
thanks

please answer for below questions:
1. did you install oracle clinet (for example ODAC) on client machine and did you configured tnsnames file? - most important
try connect with db on server from clinet computer with Visual Studio or sqlplus. Check yr connection with db from client to server.
2. what is yr oracle connection name in web.config
3. are you using the above connection name in yr application
for example
string OracleConn = WebConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["OracleConnectionString"].ConnectionString;
OracleConnection conn = new OracleConnection(OracleConn);4. have you opened port 1521 on server?

  • Hosting application server useful for running developed applications?

    Hi,
For my online applications, I am going to host the application to run on internet using hosting server.
My doubt is, as like my local application server , Will i be apply to use the hosting server to run the application?
Or I need to use my local application server in that hosting server to exclusively run the applications ?
    Pls suggest regarding this.

You shouldn't, Developer Release is currently 11g Fusion Middleware.

  • How to specify Host Server for Replicated Virtual Desktops within RDVH Collection

My question about how to specify Host Server for Replicated Virtual Desktops within Collection.
I know there is a aswered thread on this, but that solution (wait a week) didn't work for me.
So i have 2 servers, RDS01 and RDS02 with both 15 Hyper-V VM's and replicating to eachother. That part works fine.
Now I wanted to make it easy for my users I build a Connection Broker: RDCB
All went fine in that setup, but when I want to add the existing VM's from RDS01 and RDS02 to the collection it just radomly adds running ones and replicated ones.
So both RDS01 and RDS02 have 15 VM's running and 15 replica's in stopped state, but when I look in my collection, it says RDS01 has 23 and RDS02 has 7 VM's. When I add them all, I see he wants to add a lot of stopped states replica's from RDS01 instead of
    the running ones from RDS02.
How can I specify which one he should use? Or need I disable replication first, setup the whole RDCB collection thing, and then turn replication back on? Or does Hyper-V replication not work at all when used in a collection?
I hope someone can help out here. I'm googling and trying for 1,5 week now, but i can;t get it right.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Robin,
    Thanks for your patience.
After you removed Replication from 1 machine on both RDS01 and RDS02, please restart that machine. After that, please add this machine to the RD collection again to test how the issue goes.
As we know, Hyper-V Replica provides asynchronous replication of Hyper-V virtual machines between two hosting servers. It is simple to configure and does not require either shared storage or any particular storage hardware. Any server workload that can be
virtualized in Hyper-V can be replicated. Replication works over any ordinary IP-based network, and the replicated data can be encrypted during transmission. Hyper-V Replica works with standalone servers, failover clusters, or a mixture of both. The servers
can be physically co-located or widely separated geographically. The physical servers do not need to be in the same domain, or even joined to any domain at all.
Currently, would you please add only running state VMs to the RD CB collection? And would you please capture some screenshots of the error message? Thanks very much for your cooperation.
    Best regards,
    Sophia Sun

Sounds like the java version on your Linux machine is not working with the PostgreSQL JDBC driver.
Try updating your JVM on the Linux server.

  • How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application witth just a JRE [Web Application, WAR, JSP, weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds and JRE]

How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application (either a .war file or a war directory structure) without a java compiler?
I suspect either the JSP specification is flawed (i.e. it doesn't take account of servers using just a JRE), or BEA's implementation is broken.
Production servers do not have a JDK installed. They only have a JRE. Therfore a java compiler is not present on the machine that the Web Application is deployed onto.
On the development machine, when the server is requested to load the JSP it creates a tmpwar directory within the Web Application directory structure. This is then included in the resultant .war file thus:
              D:\war>jar -tf gmi.war
              META-INF/
              META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
              gmiService.jsp
              WEB-INF/
              WEB-INF/classes/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/gmiService.class
              WEB-INF/getList.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrict.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrictConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/lib/
              WEB-INF/source/
              WEB-INF/source/build.bat
              WEB-INF/source/gmiService.java
              WEB-INF/web.xml
              WEB-INF/weblogic.xml
              tmpwar/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.class
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.java
When deployed on the production server with the web.xml file set to use the following values (note XML stripped):
              weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds
              -1
              weblogic.jsp.precompile
              false
              weblogic.jsp.compileCommand
              javac
              weblogic.jsp.verbose
              true
              weblogic.jsp.packagePrefix
              jsp_servlet
              weblogic.jsp.keepgenerated
              false
              And in the weblogic.properties file:
              weblogic.httpd.webApp.gmi=war/gmi
I've also tried with the .war file, but that insists on creating another tmpwar directory outside of the .war file.
Then, although I have set pageCheckSeconds to -1 (don't check and don't recompile) ter production server still attempts to recompile the JSP's:
              Mon Sep 25 11:40:11 BST 2000:<I> <WebAppServletContext-gmi> *.jsp: init

The default Java compiler from sun lives in the tools.jar that comes with
the JDK. Just add that to your set of JARs which are deployed in production
and you should be fine. No need to install the full JDK - just make the
              tools.jar available to WebLogic.

  • How to access SQL server in oracle running in aix unix?

    Hi all,
I have oracle database running in IBM AIX OS, and I need to query data in
    SQL SERVER 2000.
    How to do that?
Is there free Sqlserver ODBC drivers for unix?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I prefer heterogenous services over ODBC for this!
I have my notes here, which may help.
    http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_heterogeneous_database_connections_sql_server.htm
    1. Install Oracle ODBC drivers on the server (your local Oracle database) that will access the remote SQL Server database using the database link.
    2. Setup the ODBC connection on the local Oracle database using the Windows ODBC Data Source Administrator
    3. Test the ODBC drivers to ensure that connectivity is made to the SQL Server database.
    4. Ensure that your global_names parameter is set to False.
    5. Configure the Oracle Heterogeneous services by creating an initodbc.ora file within the Oracle database.
    7. Modify the Listener.ora file.
SID_NAME is the DSN for the remote database.
ORACLE_HOME is the actual Oracle home file path.
PROGRAM tells Oracle to use heterogeneous services.
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME=Cas30C) -- Enter the DSN on this line
(ORACLE_HOME = c:\oracle10gdb) -- Enter your Oracle home on this line
    (PROGRAM = hsodbc) ) )
    8. Modify the Tnsnames.ora file. This is the Oracle database installation accessed by the users to connect to the ODBC drivers
    (DESCRIPTION=
    (ADDRESS_LIST=
    (Address=(PROTOCOL=TCP)
    (HOST=
    -- (Server x)
(PORT=1521))) -- Enter the port on which the server x Oracle installation
    -- is listening
(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=Cas30c)) - Enter the DSN name
(HS=OK) -- Enter this value. It tells Oracle to use hetergeneous services
    9. Reload the listener on local Oracle database
    10. Create a database link on the local Oracle installation that accesses the heterogeneous connection, which, in turn, connect to SQL Server.
    11. Run a SQL Server Select statement from the Oracle installation using the database link.
    Hope this helps. . .
