How to consume a WCF Service in PL/SQL ?

Greetings,
I am trying to consume a WCF based service from PL/SQL code. The service listens on a TCP port.
I need guidance on how to get started.
Can somebody guide me in the right direction?
Any existing threads or URLs would greatly help me.

  • How to consume a web service provided by third party system from SAP system

    Hi Friends,
    Could any of you provide me a clear picture on how to consume a web service from SAP system and is provided by a third party system?
    Do we get an URL to create a client proxy for consuming the web service?
    Thanx in advance,
    Ram

    Hi Ram,
    of course you cannot supply the WSDL URL. Inside the WSDL (just view it in your browser) you find (usually but not necessary) towards the end something like
    <soap:address location="http://www.weather.gov/forecasts/xml/SOAP_server/ndfdXMLserver.php"/>
    which is the actual adress of the service.
    An example service can be found here:
    <a href="http://www.weather.gov/xml/">National Digital Forecast Database</a>
    containing the WSDL URL at
    <a href="http://www.weather.gov/forecasts/xml/DWMLgen/wsdl/ndfdXML.wsdl">this address</a>.
    You might also want to browse for the amazon webservices which allow you to embed queries against amazon into your application.
    have fun,

  • How to design a wcf service for specific requirement

    i have 2 question on wcf.
    1) suppose some one develop a bus booking service using wcf and expose the same service over 2 different endpoint like tcp and http but i like to know what would be the advantage of having 2 or more endpoint for single service ? in what kind of situation
    people use this trick? discuss in details.
     2) how can i offer some extra functionality for tcp client. suppose my service has 5 function but http client can call only 2 and tcp client can call all. how do i design wcf service in this way. any idea would be appreciated. thanks

    Hi Mou_kolkata,
    >> 1)what would be the advantage of having 2 or more endpoint for single service ? in what kind of situation people use this trick? discuss in details.
    In my mind the advantage of providing different endpoints for a single service is that each endpoint could use different binding and we would use different endpoints for logical grouping by function, we could also apply different levels of security
    in the binding for each endpoint. For example you can expose an interoperable endpoint for Java, PHP, ... clients and a proprietary binary endpoint which could be faster but only for .NET clients.
    Besides, please also try to check this similar thread:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6033788/when-why-would-i-use-multiple-endpoints-vs-a-single-endpoint-in-a-wcf-service .
    >> 2) how can i offer some extra functionality for tcp client. suppose my service has 5 function but http client can call only 2 and tcp client can call all. how do i design wcf service in this way. any idea would be appreciated.
    An esay way is to create two services. One service is for http client with 2 functions and the other service is for tcp client with 5 functions.
    Or maybe you need do some authentication, for more information, please try to refer to:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11566182/how-do-i-restrict-access-to-some-methods-in-wcf .

  • How to consume/access web services in forefront identity manager 2010 r2

    Hi,
    I have one web service  in c# for authentication  so i want to integrate this web service in my FIM 2010 R2.I want to ask one more question how to consume/access web service of FIM 2010 R2,so please tell me how is it possible in FIM 2010 R2 and
    anybody have any example for consuming/accessing web service step by step in FIM 2010 R2.
    Regards
    Anil Kumar

    Here is some C# code that accesses FIM resource attributes from the web services via the FIM 2010 Resource Management Client which I mentioned in an earlier post:
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using Microsoft.ResourceManagement.Client;
    using Microsoft.ResourceManagement.ObjectModel;
    namespace MyTest
    public partial class ResourceAttribute
    public ResourceAttribute()
    public string GetTypeAndDisplayName(string objectID)
    String ReturnValue = String.Empty;
    using (Microsoft.ResourceManagement.Client.DefaultClient client = new DefaultClient())
    client.ClientCredential = CredentialCache.DefaultNetworkCredentials;
    client.RefreshSchema();
    string query = String.Format("/*[ObjectId={0}]", objectID);
    foreach (RmResource res in client.Enumerate(query))
    String displayName = res.DisplayName;
    String objectType = res.ObjectType;
    ReturnValue = displayName + " (" + objectType + ")";
    break;
    return ReturnValue;
    You would just need to define your bindings and endpoints in your web.config. This method will return the DisplayName and ObjectType for the resource with the ObjectId matching the objectID argument. If you need more information, please provide more specifics
    for what you are trying to accomplish.

  • How to consume Sharepoint web services in SMP 2.3?

    Hi,
    I want to create jQuery Mobile application in which i want to call Sharepoint (SOAP) web services like (getListCollection, getListItems etc) through
    SMP 2.3 Can any one tell me in detail how to consume Sharepoint web services in SMP 2.3 so that i can use data in my jQuery Mobile Application?
    For example my web service is http://xxxxx:xx/___/Lists.asmx?op=GetListItems

    Hi Harshada,
    Any good reasons to integrate Share point Jquery mobile application with SMP ?
    because Share point web services can be consumed directly in the Jquery mobile applications.
    Please look at the below examples to achieve it.

  • How to "Manually" publish WCF service in Service Registry

    Since WCF service publication is not yet supported by ES Explorer for .NET, will someone know me how to do that in SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1.
    I did the following:
    Services Registry->Publish and picked up the WSDL from WCF, and pressed the Publish button.
    Now when I go to "Service Definition" tab, and put service interface name in Find dialog box, the service appears in "Found Service Definitions:.." list, and can see details in "General" and "Endpoints" tabs in the bottom.
    However, the "Classifications" and "System Details"  tab don't show anything since I just imported the standard WSDL from WCF without any SAP specific extesions.
    Can I somehow manually edit them, and classify my service, since I could not do that from the ES Explorer tool?
    Edited by: Fakher Halim on Dec 9, 2008 11:49 AM

    Rima,
    I only have publish button on my CE page. I an using  SAP NetWeaver    CE 7.1 SR5. It does not have a "Next" button on its web page. However, I could successfully do the classification of this service.
    Here is what I am doing:
    1. Going to the first page http://LOCALHOST:50000/index.html. Here I have 8 options, e.g. "Web Services Navigator"; "SAP NetWeaver   Administrator"; and "Services Registry".
    I  click on    "Services Registry".
    A new browser window opens. (I can also do the same by directly navigating to http://LOCALHOST:50000/sr and logging on).
    2. The title of this page is "Services Registry".
    I click on "Publish" Tab, and see "Publish Services" page underneath it. On this page I just have a single text box with accompanied label "Endpoint WSDL: " and a single yellow button "Publish"
    3. When I copy paste my service WSDL, the only button I can press is "Publish" .
    After pressing that button, and waiting for a few seconds a green checkbox appears with message indicating that service is successfully published. I never see the "Next" button you mentioned in your solution.
    Can you please guide me on that?

  • Calling a WCF service from pl sql using a scheduler.

    Hi
    I am completely new to everything pl sql related. Right now, I need to call a WCF service method that returns a dataset. Then i need to take that dataset and insert the data into a table in the database. I want to do this by having a scheduler be called once a day.
    Does anyone have any code, examples etc?
    thanks

    And WCF stands for what? In what version of the product?
    First rule for someone new ... don't make the assumption that we can look over your shoulder or read your mind.
    What you seem to want is the built-in scheduler. The docs are at http://tahiti.oracle.com.

  • How To Consume SharePoint Web Services?

    I am having problems with integrating SharePoint web services into a BEA web application. I want to consume the SharePoint Web Services (for example, http://<sitename>/_vti_bin/Search.asmx). I've generated a service control out of the WSDL, but when I execute any method, it responds with
    <faultcode>soap:Server</faultcode>
    <faultstring>Server was unable to process request. --> Object reference not set to an instance of an object.</faultstring>
    I've found tons of examples for consuming these from .NET and C#, but not from BEA. It sounds like I need to instantiate the SharePoint object and pass in some Windows credentials. I am using BEA 8.1.6 and WSS 2.0 / SPS 2003. I watched the BEA online demo at http://dev2dev.bea.com/downloads/ExcelServer/workshop_vista.html but this is for much newer BEA and WSS/SPS versions. Can it be done with my versions and if so how?

  • How to consume SAP enterprise services over https using third party tools?

    Hi guys,
    am just testing consumption of ES using jboss instead of NW for client applications. The ES in our internal ERP are bit strange, ie. they are using HTTPS transport even though you can configure ES with HTTP transport. (in this case, the requests are always redirected to HTTPS one). Wanna hear from perhaps someone who had similar experiences about
    - Have you encountered the situation that ES can only exposed as HTTPS WS. Is there any way to enable HTTP ES?
    - The way to consume ES over HTTPs. How to configure and generate the client which can talk HTTPs with ES?
    Any comnments are thankful.
    Best,
    Ji
    Edited by: Ji Hu on Oct 1, 2010 3:20 PM

    Thanks.
    Have solved the problem. I need to configure my client, i.e. JVM to connect the server with https. The generated ws client stub itself does not need to care about HTTPS or HTTP transport.
    In some case, one do have enabled HTTP transport via soamanager, but it never became HTTP (redirected to HTTPS). I have no idea why, but have to talk in  HTTPS as the only one option.

  • How to nest a WCF service into a virtual directory off the Default Web Site

    I have a service called PdfCreator. I want it installed on my servers in this directory for QA: "Default Web Site/QA/PdfCreator/PdfCreator.svc". I want it installed in this directory for DEV: "Default Web Site/DEV/PdfCreator/PdfCreator.svc".
    If I specify QA/PdfCreator in the project's "Web service virtual directory name" field PB complains about invalid characters (the "/"). Is there any way to get around this? The only work around I can think of is adding "qa" or "dev" as a suffix/prefix to the virtual directory name ("Default Web Site/QAPdfCreator/PdfCreator.svc") which doesn't really give me what I want.
    This isn't a big deal with only a few services but could become one as more are created.

  • How to send EDI from WCF adapter to WCF service

    Hi,
    1. I have created an orchestration which is published as WCF service.
    2. I have created an orchestration which receives an XML from WCF client and process it.
    3. I have created a WCF dynamic send port.
    Problem: From this dynamic send port, I want to send EDI file to a WCF service that will receive this EDI file. How can I achieve this. Below are my concerns:
    -> For creating this WCF service, I need to know the contract of Biztalk WCF adapter which sends EDI file.
    Thanks ...

    Hi,
    How can we create WCF service to receive the EDI sent by the BTS. What contract should be used for receiving this EDI file in WCF service.
    What changes have to be made in the orchestrations to send the EDI file to the WCF send Dynamic port. Below is the code i am using.
    EDIOutboundPort(Microsoft.XLANGs.BaseTypes.Address)="URL Address";
    EDIOutboundPort(Microsoft.XLANGs.BaseTypes.TransportType)="WCF-basicHttp";
    Please correct me if i am wrong
    Thanks
    "How can we create WCF service to receive the EDI sent by the BTS. What contract should be used for receiving this EDI file in WCF service" - This is two different questions.
    "How can we create WCF service to receive the EDI sent by the BTS"  - Using BizTalk WCF Services Publishing Wizard, the wizard would ask for the "Create BizTalk receive locations in the following application " for creating
    the receive location for the message published to the exposed WCF service. Through this receive port/location, the service would receive the message.
    In this case, I am not sure why do you want to expose the Orchestration as WCF Service when you want to send message to this Orchestration/WCF service (which after converting from Orch) through another orchestration. You could either use call/start orchestration
    to send message from one to another.
    "What contract should be used for receiving this EDI file in WCF service" - may be this question is not correct. You have created a Orchestration which you exposed as WCF service. So while creating the Orch you know the type of message this Orchestration
    is bound to, so use the same contract. Or as mentioned in my earlier reply, use "Consume WCF wizard" to consume the WCF service which would create the web message for you.
    If this answers your question please mark it accordingly. If this post is helpful, please vote as helpful by clicking the upward arrow mark next to my reply.
