  • How to control PDF plugin from Javascript?

    I need to embed a PDF viewer into a webpage displayed on a special infokiosk withou a keyboard and a mouse. The infokiosk will have just five control button (four arrows and an OK button), which will map to corresponding keys on keyboard. It will be running a simple Linux system and Firefox browser as GUI.
    This is exactly what I need to accomplish:
    http://pdftools.atwebpages.com/embedPDF.html
    However, it works only in Internet Explorer. I need this very functionality in Firefox on Linux. I have not been able to come accross any documentation telling me, how to do it. On the other hand I have found:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/interapplication.html
    which mentions Windows and Macintosh, but does not mention Linux at all. Does this mena that I will not be able to control PDF viewer with Javascript under Firefox/Linux?

  • How to control text animation duration?

    I found a similar question to this in a forum for a different product, but the only answerer didn't know the answer and merely recommended "experimenting around until you figure it out," which is possibly the most unhelpful answer ever.  Lol.
    My question is: How do I make it so a text animation brings the text in and then allows the text to sit on the screen normally for some time after that?  Currently, when I add a text animation, it insists on extending the entire duration of the clip, from beginning to end.  How do I confine the animation to, say, the first 2 seconds of the text, and then allow the text to sit normally for 8 seconds after that?

    If you are familiar with Keyframing in Flash, then it will be so very easy in PrE. You already have the concept (the hard part), and all you need to get will be details on the mechanics (where buttons are located, etc.) in PrE.
    Steve takes you though all of those mechanics, and introduces you to the Effects Control Panel, which you will use just like the Stage in Flash (if they still call it that). The look is a bit different, as you are working in Video, though you are animating in the same way. You set the Keyframes for whichever Effect you are working in, and PrE will create the Tweens for you.
    I actually like the interface (the Effects Control Panel) in Premiere better, than I did the one in Flash Studio 8 (my last version), but then I came to Flash from a film background. When I started doing Video, it was like meeting up with an old friend, however the concept of Keyframes from Flash proved very, very useful.
    I do not recall the last time that I used any animation Preset, as Keyframes give me so very much more power. The same for creating PiP, whether animated, or not.
    Good luck, and explore, experiment and enjoy!

  • How to control SWF Video using JavaScript?

    Hi,
    I'm developing a web page which will use Flash Videos. I need
    to control the video without using a typical skin. The current tool
    I'm using to convert my wmv to SWF FLV is Coffee Cup. A hex edit
    suggests this is a Version 8 SWF.
    I am trying to write some javascript to control which Frame
    is displayed. I have seen code such as movie.TGotoFrame(...); and
    movie.GotoFrame, movie.StopPlay() etc. Unfortunately I cannot seem
    to use these methods. Eventually I suspected that my SWF simply did
    not make these methods available and when I run my video in my web
    page a RightClick shows a Context Menu that has no Reverse,
    Forward, Back options. Other SWF videos do have these options
    (obviously). This seems to prove that nothing I could code would
    make the GotoFrame work (ie no Forward (by one frame) option in
    menu suggests it could never work from javascript).
    Some Questions
    Is there a tool to examine a SWF to see what methods are
    available to javascript control? (expose the API) and is there a
    setting required in the <object> setup to enable javascript
    interaction?
    Is there something about SWF V8 files that is the problem or
    is likely that the CoffeeCup Web Video Player can only make
    partially functioning SWF Videos?
    What is the difference between GotoFrame and TGotoFrame and
    have these perhaps been superceeded by something else (there is an
    Adobe page which suggests they are only available up to Version 5
    (not sure if that means Version 5 of SWF files or Version 5 of the
    FlashPlayer - to add to my confusion).
    I'm not currently a Flash type developer and have no tools to
    speak off and don't know ActionScript. I'm thinking of heading in
    the Flash direction but not sure how to move forward.
    Cheers
    Stuart

    Thanks Alex,

    You need to learn to move forward :)
    I have a Greek friend who when I asked him how he was getting
    on with his dissertation project stated "in Greece we have a saying
    - every start is different".
    In this case my start is to dip a toe in the Flash water and
    not get scalded.
    Anyhow,
    One clarification from the CoffeeCup forum helped me to
    understand that my SWF used an external FLV and that may explain
    why the rightclick context menu did not have the more movie
    specific Back, Forward etc. Sounds plausible. So assume external
    FLV.
    quote:
    it is very easy to add a small script into the root timeline
    of your SWF file
    A little hand holding here would be appreciated. I have
    downloaded the Flex SDK. Can I use this free tool to do what you
    suggest? Using MXML and ActionScript. If so, a little bit more info
    would help.
    quote:
    That's all, it should work. Of course, you can tell me that
    your movie
    already has an onEnterFrame() eventhandler at the root
    timeline.
    What's a problem? Just create an empty movieclip and add this
    script
    into its frame 1 (it maybe the only frame). But do not forget
    to
    change "this.xxxx" to "_root.xxxx" within such script.
    Hhhmmm. A bit stumped. I've had a look at the SWF using
    FlashDig. I noticed what appears to be Assembly Language (Push,
    Pops, Jumps etc) and presumably in amongst all of that may be an
    onEnterFrame. Perhaps linked to a DefineFunction2 node.
    Unfortunately the SWF is very large (60K) and there is no
    search/find tool so that makes finding functions a bit harder than
    expected. Struggling a little with the concept of _root and Level0
    etc.
    I assume you are suggesting manually building a replacement
    SWF (empty movieclip?) if the onEventHandler happens to be used for
    something else. Presumably set/getVariables only interacts with
    this function so if it is 'booked' in my SWF I would be in a spot
    of bother with your suggested approach?
    I wonder if you are assuming I have some sort of Flash tool.
    Possibly like this one shown in this tutorial
    WebWasp
    Panorama tutorial
    Note. The panorama is actually close to what I eventually
    want to do except I intend to make a video of a scene by rotating
    clockwise by 360 degrees. Then add buttons onto the SWF (or DHTML)
    which communicates with the SWF to move forward or back through the
    video. Moving forward would be like a clockwise rotation and moving
    back would create anticlockwise rotation. This explains the need to
    GotoFrame (or similar). From that perspective I don't need to
    become a Flash guru (for now) and can't justify buying all the
    expensive flash tools for this one (apparently) simple task: Frame
    by Frame control of an external FLV via the SWF.
    Note. I've started using SWFObject. Might this library help?
    In summary.
    How do I add the onEnterFrame ActionScript sample (or
    something similar) into a SWF using only the Flex SDK command line
    tools or similar in order to control an external FLV?
    Cheers

  • Keyframe animation does not move smoothly

    Hi!
    I made a keyframe animation where a .psd file (logo of the music group) slowly "floats" acros the screen. The motion should look smooth like a boat in a river or a cloud in a sky, but now the motion is sticky and the logos motion looks like there was sand in a ski track. Not like ski´ing with no snow at all, but little sticky moments that breaks the illusion of the nice and smooth motion.
    I tried De-interlace, Flicker-filter, *Stop motion blur* and *Wind blur*, but not any of them produced too good results.
    It is a logo with quite thin white lines in it, so that might be a reason why problem occurs, but if there was any ideas how to make keyframe animation smoothier, them would be appreciated.

    The problem is same in rendered and exported material, and it is not only in the logo with thin lines, but thicker text behaves similarily:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqT5VHcJsus&feature=channel_page
    Earlier I have made same kind of animations without any jittering...
    Might it be the lenght of the keyframe animation?
    If the relation of the of the movement and the used time happened to be something like that that the text moves one pixel in every 1.5 frames so that in rendering the application does not know should it move the image 1 or 2 pixels per frame and then it does both, which causes the jitter...
    I check if problem could be cured by changing the duration...

  • Which is the best tool for PRC animation? and how to control it with javascript?

    Hi I created animations through Deep Exploration. But I want to know how to create PRC animation with tools and how to control it? I already tried with tetra4D but the javascript can control only u3d format. I have no idea to control prc animation. Please let me know.
    Thanks and Regards
    Chenet0005 @ Chenthil Kumar

    PRC files don't support embedded animations.
    You can still control the mesh directly with  3D JavaScript (e.g. by using rotateInPlace and a time event handler) but you can't import a timeline as you can with U3D.

  • How to create the animation div dyanimcally using jquery+javascript

    Hello,
    after a week of researching and without getting the full result i decided to upload new discussion here and maybe some of you guys will help me.thanks in advance.
    include the file:
    <!--Adobe Edge Runtime-->
        <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=Edge">
        <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="animate_edgePreload.js"></script>
    <!--Adobe Edge Runtime End-->
    html code:
    <div id="Stage" class="EDGE-70798230"></div>    if i put it like this of course everthing works fine..i can put more with different id's and they will work fine...
    my problem:
    i dont know how many of this animation i will need...depends of what my server will give me in the response...so i need to create them dynamically...
    i tried lots of things:
    $("#newAnimation").append('<div id="Stage2" class="EDGE-70798230"></div>');    of course with this nothing happend...it even dont get the symbols under stage..and not any of the css...
    $(".EDGE-70798230#Stage").clone().appendTo("#newAnimation");
    $("#newAnimation").children('#Stage').prop('id','Stage2');   then mroe css changes and just then i can see the animation but it doesnt work..."play is not defind" when i try to run the animations..
    i know there is some function that called createChildSymbol/createSymbolChild but none of them work for me...
    i use jquery mobile..so to start the animation for example i do $.Edge.symbol.get($("#Stage")).play();
    i tried to use the loadResources etc....doesnt work too..
    anyone have some idea what i can do? it is possible?

    joel pau thank you for all the support.
    now i will explain the anwer if anyone else will be stuck with the same problem.
    first of all in edge animate need to mark all the things that created and "convert to symbol"(mark all and right click).
    second:
    in the top of your html file you got the script to the edge_preLoad.js .....
    so now in your js code:
    lets say we use append to add new div to our code and now we got <div id="new"</div>.
    $.Edge.getComposition("yourCompositionID").createSymbolChild("yourSymbolThatCreatedInStepO ne","#new");
    like this you can get new animation of the same composition.
    if you want to conroll the animation you just need to take the id of the new symbol your created using jquery or any way you like.
    and example of control it:
    $.Edge.symbol.get("#theNewID").play();

  • How can i control gif animations?

    I have a project in which i need some animations. The animations all have been created in After Effects. Now I can use the png sequences, but these are very big and i need a lot animations running on the same time. So i would rather use the gif animations. So my question: I can control when to play the gif animation but i can't play it more than one time. Is there a solution?
    Thanks for answering!
    Jannis

    Hi there,
    I see...you're controlling when it displays. Technically, that's not the same as controlling the animated GIF; you're just controlling when you see it. EA recognizes GIF only as an image format, and can't make the browser play from the beginning other than the first time it's displayed or when it loops back (if your animated GIF loops).
    However, you could do something similar with an extra image file or two, jQuery, and css background-image to "load" the GIF file into a transparent image. Here's a link to an example that always runs the animated GIF from the beginning:
    https://creative.adobe.com/share/52f15194-875b-4604-8857-9b9bf5f78e04
    A single line of code that does the work is in the playBtn click handler.

  • How to set animation in JavaScript?

    see the following method in Scene Object:
    activateAnimation(animation)
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk...
    I am wondering how can I create animation object? I don't see any method under animation object to create a new one?
    What I see is that I can retrieve animation objects from the list of animation from scene object but I don't see any other kind of possiblity.

    try this:
    your.jsp
    <html>
    <SCRIPT>function buttonClick()
    {document.compform.submit();}
    </SCRIPT>
    <body>

    <input type=hidden name=mysubmit value="submit">

  • How to control Flash Player playback using JavaScript?

    I have a local file-based web page (HTML file) containing an embedded YouTube video.

  • How to control timeline sound of external SWF

    Hi All,
    Basic Intro:
    I am new in Action Script and trying to create a video tutorial framwork. In this I have lots of animated SWF files in all the files I have multiple scenes as those are 5min. to 10 min. each and all the files have the relevent background and nurration voice place directly on the TIMELINE frame by frame to match lip syncing animated chreactors.
    My file structure :
    Login.swf with login box is embedded into the Index.html
    After logged in it will load another SWF which is Control panel.swf
    3. Controlpanel.swf has the controls to control the loaded external swf files i.e.: Chapter menu, Play, pause, replay, volume-bar, next and previous buttons.
    By Default Controlpanel.swf will open chapter1.swf as soon as user logged in so no one need to open 1st file.
    Here user can navigate to other chapter swf file through Chapter menu or Next and Previous buttons.
    All files are loading and playing properly, here I am trying to control the animation and Sound both at a same time with Pause, Play and Replay through relevant buttons.
    Problem:
    By pressing “Pause button” animation stops but not the sound. Sound remains playing, and if I replay the swf by “Replay button” than animation restarts but sound also restarts that overlaps already playing audio.
    Question: So could anybody help me finding out how to:
    1. Pause the sound with animation by the same click of Pause button, and
    2. Stop the sound with animation by the same click of Stop button, and
    3. On replay it should stop playing the previously running audio and restart it with the animation like fresh loaded file, it should not sound overlapping.
    Constraints:
    Here I am using the sound file on the same time line of each individual swf file which I cannot add into any single movie clip because all the chapter swf file are having multiple scenes in it.
    For my problem I have already done a lot of browsing online in various forums and didn't find the solution. So here I am sharing the complete information regarding the project and wishing to get some good solution out here but if I missed any helpful information please ask me anytime and please help me to quickly find out the solution.
    Thanks a lot to all of you in advance to help me.

    create one global sound variable
    you can write when you are pressing pause button
    globalsoundvariable.setVolume(0)
    to play
    globalsoundvariable.setVolume(100)
