How to convert a .jad file to .class file in JAVA Swings.

Hi all,
Sorry for the interruption.I am also facing the same problem.I am using DEJDecompiler. But my application is not J2ME But J2EE.( a Swing application).I opened .class file and made some changes but I dont know how to convert into a .class file again.
I tried saving .jad file to .java file. Then it is showing lot of errors in Eclipse Platform.I doubt if there are any errors in the .class file already, then how could the program would run.I put all the programs in the respective platforms only and then testing. It fails.
(2) one more question,is if I do not need to disturb any existing coding and need to create a seperate java file which will do my customisation, then what should I do.I could not get any interfaces in the program.
Please help me as the matter is most urgent.
Thanks in advance

Bcase this program uses Data source and connect many times to database & fetches many type of data from database. We use servlet files of tomcat for this context in WORK folder of Tomcat. and after that rename our Source file Folder. and again run our program through batch file i'm strange program runs 2-3 steps, after few times it start producing errors.

  • How to insert the new Servlet Api Class files?

    Hi,
I need to know how do I add the Servlet Api Class to my java directory
after i download it from the net? Thanks for your help in advance!

    niceguyme,
If you downloaded the J2EE 1.3.1 API and installed it to (for example) c:\j2ee131, then what you need to add to your class path is:
    c:\j2ee131\lib\j2ee.jar
I also add c:\j2ee131\lib\ejb10deployment.jar to the classpath, but it is not necessary.
there are several ways to add these to your classpath. It depends on what Operating System you are using. On windows 98 type OS, you can edit the autoexec.bat and add these directly to your already existing classpath. Windows NT,2000, and XP: you can add them to the system environment variables classpath. Hopefully you know how to do this on your machine. What I like to do on the windows machine is create a batch file that will start it from within a command prompt. I do this because there are times when I need to compile my code using different versions of the Java api. I am enclosing an example of one for J2se1.4.1 and j2ee1.3.1.
    contents of java141.bat
    @ECHO OFF
ECHO JDK 1.4.1 and J2EE 1.3.1 are current versions
    set HOLD_CP = %CLASSPATH%
    set HOLD_PATH = %PATH%
    set CLASSPATH=.
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;e:\jdk14\jre\lib\rt.jar
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;e:\jdk14\lib\dt.jar

    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;e:\jdk14\lib\htmlconverter.jar

    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;e:\j2ee131\lib\j2ee.jar
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;e:\j2ee131\lib\ejb10deployment.jar
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%HOLD_CP%
    set PATH=e:\jdk14\bin
    set PATH=%PATH%;"C:\Program Files\TextPad 4"
    set PATH=%PATH%;c:\windows\command
    set PATH=%PATH%;%HOLD_PATH%I hope this helps.

  • How to Convert iTunes Songs (Apple lossless audio file) to a MP3 for E-mail

How to Convert iTunes Songs (Apple lossless audio file) to a MP3 for E-mail?
My computer is Windows 7 and my Itunes software version is 1.0.2
    Many thanks in advance...

iTunes 1.0.2 is +at least+ eight years old.
The current version is 9.2, and it's free.
If that was a typo, and you're using something more current:
In the iTunes preferences, change the import settings to mp3.
Then select the songs you wish to convert.
From the "Advanced" menu, choose "Create mp3 version".
When done, change the import settings back to Apple Lossless.
    That's it.
BTW, this is the Logic Pro forum, which has absolutely nothing to do with iTunes.

  • DrClap, schapel, jschell whats better architecture jar files or class files

What would be a better architecture for deployment. Jar files or class files. We were recently having a debate at work as to generate installation scripts that put jar files on the system where the app is being installed or to make the script generate class files at the desired location.
It would be good to know as to what you ppl think and what are the pros and cons of both.
Some claimed with class files it would be easier to put in patches later on and I kinda agree with that. However your thoughts would be appreciated.
Come on DrClap, schapel, jschell, jsalonen....... I am a fan of yours already

This, of course, is why topics shouldn't be addressed to individuals - they are likely to never see it. Today is the first time I have seen this, and that is due solely to a search that I was running.
Why would you use one over the other?
    ----Distribution costs
It takes more time to send a bunch of class files down the wire than a single jar file. However, it takes more time to send a jar than a single class file. So there is a delicate trade off in a web application where one is using java. If you send the jar every time it is modified the entire jar must be moved. Class files take less time, but all of them must be moved for a new person.
So in this case if you have a fixed based of users (internal use), and a majority of the files do not change then class files are better. If the user base is transitory and large (external use) then a jar file is probably better.
    ----Usage:
You can use reflection to dynamically add functionality to an application. If you use a jar file then the application must be restarted for the changes to take effect. If you use class files then the application does not have to be restarted. Obviously the second only works if you have some way to dynamically notify the application that new classes are available - like a database.
This becomes very relevant if you do not want to restart the application and you do not have a distributed application base in place.
Also the older classes, even if not used, are still loaded in the application unless it is restarted (presuming a class loader is not used.) Most of the time this does not make difference.
Since in the above it is likely that there is not a large distribution problem, when the usage is a concern then the best strategy is as class files. They allow the most flexibility and there is unlikely to be any concern at all how it is packaged.
    -------Misc
Speed. Someone suggested speed. Guessing I would say that the jar file is going to be faster. Once the Sun jvm gets the file it doesn't let go. And as pointed out opening files is rather costly. However, I doubt this is going to be a significant cost on any system. Startup costs, although sometimes annoying, are seldom significant in terms of application performance.
Security. The is a certain level of security with a jar file. You have one jar file and distribute it to the help desk people. And one of them deletes it accidently. It is going to be a lot easier to figure that out than if they deleted one class file. Additionally it is probably easier to encrypt/decrypt a jar file (if you really must) than class files.
Dynamic class loading. If you are storing classes in non-traditional places, like a database rather than files, then it is probably going to be easier if you do it as class files.
Testing. It is easier to replace a class file in a testing environment to fix a bug than a jar file. Particularily if the make process for the jar file rebuilds everything.

  • How to create and exe from a class file.

I want to create an application and want to distribute it. I am using simplw awt gui interface. I have compiled the program and have got the required class file. If I want an executable how can I go for it.
There are many files provided by java library which are exe but are created using java API eg. policytool.exe. Please Help.
    Ashwini Bagga,
    Jaipur(Rajasthan)
    INDIA.

Java uses the JVM to parse the class files. It cannot be converted to a .exe file
but if you want to distribute it, i suggest you use InstallAnywhere which makes it into an exe installer.
In the end it still uses the virtual machine...
If i am wrong anywhere pls correct me thanks...

  • How do I find out if a class file has deprecated functions

Currently I'm having problems with a old Visual Cafe class.
It is definately using deprecated awt funcions.
    My question is..
    1) Without the source code how do I find out what deprecated functions the CLASS file is using.
    2) Has any deprecated class been truly scrapped ? If so, I cannot find
it in the JDK API documentation or the java.sun.com search engine..

Here is what I did, to answer your question. I unzipped the symantec jar and used a decompiler (JAD works fine, or cavaj) to create an entire src tree (you can do this with 1 command). Then, compile using your target version of Java. There are well over 100 warnings (with -deprecation on) ranging from Cafe's use of awt.Component methods (mostly), Thread.suspend in their Timer class, to the use of java.util.Date in their Calendar component.
    Cheers!

  • How to load binary content of a .class file?

    Hello everyone,
I want to load the binary content of a .class file in a dynamic approach. In more detail, I want it to work in the following approach. When given the name of a class, I can retrieve the binary content of the .class file. I have written the following sample but it does not work. Can anyone help to find what is wrong with my sample? How to achieve my goal?
    String className = this.getClass().getName();
InputStream inputStream = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream (className); When executing the above code, the inputStream is always returned as "null".
    Thanks in advance,
    George

    Thanks ruthf104,
I haven't tested this, but I think you will need to
    transform the class name
    "test.Foo"
    into the resource path
    "/test/Foo.class"
ie change '.' to '/', append '/' at the beginning
    and ".class" at the end.
See the following paragraph from the
    Class.getResourceAsStream specification:
"This method delegates the call to its class loader,
, after making these changes to the resource name: if
    the resource name starts with "/", it is unchanged;
otherwise, the package name is prepended to the
resource name after converting "." to "/". If this
object was loaded by the bootstrap loader, the call
    is delegated to
    ClassLoader.getSystemResourceAsStream."
By these rules, the method will not be able to
automatically transform the class name into a
resource path for you (it doesn't append the
".class"), so you'll have to do it yourself.I have verified that your approach is working!
    regards,
    George

  • How to create a Jar with only class files?

    Dear all,
I want to create a jar file with only classes. My class files and java files are in different folders under com .
    say
    com
in com there are two folders
    folder 1 -- subfolder 1
    folder 2 -- subfolder 2
    like this.
If i want to create a jar file from com directory how should i give the jar command.Again my jar should contain only .class files.
    Any help will be appreciated
    Thanks
    lekshmi

It doesn't work.Says "No such class or directory"
Any other way Or is it possible to do so?Read the link I posted and create the statement to make your structure. I was thinking you were inside the com directory but if you are above it you will need something like this instead:
    jar -cf test.jar com\*.class com\subfolder1\*.class com\subfoler2\*.class
But either way don't just copy and past this. Think about what is does so that you can make it work for you.
Also, you might want to look into using Ant if you are going to be building this a lot.

  • How do i access a third party .class file

    Hi,
I am new to both java and enterprise 8, and would greatly appreciate some help.
I have a third party .class file and want to include it in a project so i can call it's methods etc. I can access it by creating an object as follows
thirdPartyClass tpc= new thirdPartyClass();and then create a .class file of my own using javac at the command line without any probles, but if I use the same code in enterprise 8 it reports an error stating "cannot access MyProjectName.thirdPartyClass" could someone please tell me how to reference this file as so far I have not been able to find anything.
    Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the suggestions it appears I was doing more or less the right things but miss reading the error message:
    Cannot access keyword.classes.thirdPartyClass
    bad class file C:\java\keyword\classes\thirdPartyClass
class file contains wrong class: thirdPartyClass
please remove or make sure it appears in the correct subdirectroy of the classpath.
While looking I have found that the classes do not contian src folders of Javadoc so I will go see if the third party can supply a Jar file or similar.
    Thanks

  • Does anyone know how to convert iTunes TV subscription downloads to files that I can put on a backup drive and watch on my TV vs. MacBook?

I purchased a TV series from iTunes and downloaded the HD version. I then copied it to a backup drive so I could plug it in to my DVD player to watch. This would not work. Does anyone know how to convert the files so they are watchable on TV rather than on my MacBook?

Video in the new iOS is under the application Videos. You should be able to find things there.

How does one convert a large PDF file into smaller files and not get odd page breaks.  Need to get the page breaks at the headers.  Just looking for instructions for an end user of Acrobat Pro who reports getting random page breaks and couldn't get help from the Adobe help desk.  I was directed here when I tried to contact support ... Figure this forum may have information. ... thanks.

You can't. If you split the file into pages it will remain in the same layout the original has. PDF files were not meant to be edited in the way you're describing.
