How to convert a Powerpoint slide in jpeg!

I can't imagine Java has been passed by ColdFusion! We can do this in ColdFusion but I would like to do it in using Java only. Here is what I want to do.
I want to read a Powerpoint document (.ppt), select a slide, convert in .jpeg files and display this image in a web page. Each slide of the Powerpoint document will be converted like mentionned before and will be add table.
Any help? Is it possible to do that? It can be a nice feature if this does not exist....
Thanx anyone for the help... Yannick.

It shouldn't be that hard,
1. Get documentation on the .ppt format.
2. Check how images are stored, and in which format.
3. Find out if this format can be transfered to .jpeg easily using Java image functions.
4. If not find third-party software that does.
5. Find out how to display a .jpeg image in Java using built-in image functions.
6. Write the display application.

Open the powerpoint presentation, on the click on the 'file' button located at the top left of the menu bar, click on 'save as' at the bottom of the window that opens you should see a dropdown format gliff that says powerpoin presentation .pptx; click on the gliff and choose 'movie.mov'

  • How do I make powerpoint slides?

I bought the expensive version of PDF creator so I could make powerpoint slides.  I don't know where to go to this?

I would like to convert PDF to PowerPoint. I bought the CreatePDFannual. In the discription it listed converting PDF's into powerpoint slides ( I know how to make PP slides). I am really new to all this stuff and am trying to teach myself with limited time and a LOT of work to do- lol. Any hints or directions as to where to look to figure it out will be greatly appreciated - I don't expect you to teach me - just suggest where I might find what I am looking for!      Thanks!

  • How to convert Tiff file into to JPEG....

    Hi,
I want to convert a tiff file into jpeg.
Can someone please show me a simple example on how this can be done.
I want to create a Servlet that reads a blob field that contians tiff image and then convert that into to jpeg and display it in a Browser...
If anyone has any ideas if this is doable i would greatly appreciate if they can advise me on how this can be done.
    Thanks in advance.

Java2 Doesn't support TIFF so you'll have to rely on a 3rd party product. I suggest you look at JAI.
A solution off the top of my brain would be to use a JAI SeekableStream on the BLOB and then send the image to the client throught either a JAI image encoder, or through the default JAI.create statement.
Remember, this is just off the top of my brain. Hope it works out.

  • Converting MS PowerPoint Slide in to MS Project

    Hello ,
Today my boss has asked me to convert a MS PPT slide into MS Project , but i am unable to find any such option,
kindly guide me on the same.
    Regards,
    Amit

    Hi,
Do you mind providing us more information? What is the meaning of the >>convert a MS PPT slide into MS Project <<?
I assume your scenario: There a Project plan that created with PowerPoint and you want to migrate it to Project that you can control the plan. If it is correct, this requested may be based on the original PPT, if there are some images to show the plan, we
can not convert it into MS Project. We need the editable data and tasks.
If I misunderstand something, please feel free let us know. And you also can upload some screenshots here. I'll appreciate for it.

  • How to Convert all PSDs/TIFFs to JPEGs within subfolders (no "JPEG" folder)?

Hello all, I come to you with what I hope is a fairly simple question and I would put it in scripting if needed but I'm not a scripter. I am sifting through many terabyte drives trying to track down all large image files and delete them after making an identically sized JPEG. I can create actions or use the File->script->Image Processor or some other method you suggest.
There is a drive in question with hundreds of folders broken down by a client number and occasionally we'll design something as a psd. Well after each year we like to keep the images but do not need the multilayered psd/tiff files any longer. I would love something to grab every psd/tiff on the drive and convert it to jpg (and delete psd afterward but that I can do by hand). However both batch and image processor have drawbacks that don't allow me to do this. Can anyone help?
Is there a way to make the Image Processor not save in a "JPEG" folder but in the true "same location" as it stipulates. I have bound it to a hotkey and am currently dragging in chunks at a time, then going into the folders, cutting/pasting, then deleting the jpeg folders, then deleting the psds... it's quite cumbersome.
Ideally the files wouldn't go through the GUI so it would be speedier but not necessary. I can use Photoshop or Bridge CS3. I am finding the files by windows searching extensions so if possibly a droplet or something could allow this, I'd use that as well. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

You might want to post this to the Photoshop Scripting Forum.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Convert old photo slides to .jpegs using an iMac?

I am not sure if posting this request in iPhoto is thebest place, but here goes:
I havecome across "slide converter" hardware for use with PC's. I am wondering if anyone knows of a MAC-compatible product that scans and creates digital files from old picture-slides ???
    Thanks !

    drobi:
I suggest you get a scanner like Beverly mentioned to scan your slides. The stand alone units like you mentioned are limited and when you're finished you have a nice paperweight.
I have a Canon 8600F scanner that will scan 4 35mm slides at a time and save them into separate files. It also scans film strips and other transparency sizes. It will also scan multiple photos and automatically save each photo to its own file. Are real time saver.
If you scan any B/W slides or photos be sure to scan as color since iPhoto doesn't support Grayscale files.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • How to convert Flash output to a JPEG?

I want to allow a user to create a comic page layout in Flash which would allow them to upload JPEGs into the comic page layout then the Flash interface would allow them to move them around and add speach bubbles.
I would then like these to be uploaded to my web server and the whole thing converted to a JPEG. What would be involved to achieve this?
    Thanks
    Kevin

You would need a MovieClip with drop zones inside of it (other Movie Clips ideally).
I recommend publishing for player 10, since some classes that came out with it are much friendlier for the loading of files from the users computer.  If you Google "AS3 local file load" or something similar you should be able to find a tutorial to get you through this step.
Then, once the user has loaded things, you would need a function (probably fired from a button click) that takes the snapshot of the page.  This is done via the BitmapData class.  Google it for detailed information.
And then, to save the file out to the server, you will likely need a server-side technology (but I haven't looked into server-side saving from player 10 yet, so I may be wrong).  Look for "AS3 save image to server" or something similar.

  • How to access PowerPoint slides with Adobe reader?

How can I access PowerPoint slides by using the adobe reader?

I don't think you're on an iPad or iPhone. This forum is for Reader on those devices. Powerpoint slides are not available because Microsoft hasn't released Powerpoint for those devices.
Reader can only read PDF files.

  • Use FMS & Actionscript to Stream Audio/Video and control (powerpoint) slides

    Hi there,
My compnay provides webcasting services to numerous clients, and we currently use Windows Media Encoder as our base software for these projects.
However, I'm interested in switching to Flash Media Server, but need to figure out one issue and how to implement it in such a way like how we are currently using Windows Media Encoder.
We need a way to stream out a live audio/video feed AND have a way to control a presenter's POWERPOINT slides and have them advance by our command when streaming live.
Basically, the way we do it is we will stream out audio/video from WME and also use the encoder's SCRIPTING functions to send out a "url"  from the encoder to the actual page in which the viewer is watching the live embedded stream.  On that page is an embeded/internal frame which we can specify (using the id/name) that the url gets loaded, and this actually advances the slides (or more so pulls up a pre-created html page of the next slide in the person's powerpoint, which is actually a screenshot or exported image of that slide and embedded within a specific HTML file and hosted on the same server as the embedded player/html file)
Would there be a way to send out this same type of script using FMS?   I've been playing around with it and notice the interface itself does not have a built in scripting function like Windows Media Encoder does. However, I did read somewhere that it supports ActionScript... but I have no clue how to implement this feature.
I am just curious how it might be able to go about doing this?  Is there a way to use an [action]script with FMS and have it send out a URL to a specific frameset embedded on the same page as the Flash Media Encoder Playback?
Hopefully this make sense and that someone can point me in the right direction.  Switching to FMS over Windows Media Encoder is the way I would love to go, just need to figure out how this could be done.
Would a better method be converting the powerpoint slides to a swf or flv file, embedding that file within the same page as the FMS playback, and somehow using a script to "advance" the frames/slides/scenes within that file?
I also heard something about Flash "Shared Objects" and how this could be a way of controlling a swf file remotely.....
Could anyone give me some advice and know a method that I could use to achieve this type of implementation?
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!   Thanks!

FMS (the interactive version, FMIS) has complete scripting support.
What you want to do can be done with FMS, and there are a lot of ways you can approach it. Converting to .swf can be helpful, as it means you have a single resource to load rather than a bunch of individual slide images (the flashplayer can load .swf, jpg, gif, png). Rather than embedding, I'd opt to make it an external resource and load it at runtime... that would keep the player application reusable.
To get an idea of how to use server side actionscript, see the getting started portion of the FMS 3.5 dev docs
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashMediaServer/3.5_Deving/
Then, see the SSAS docs for the following classes in particular:
    The Client class for Client.call()
    The Stream class for Stream.send()
    The Shared object class
    The Application class for BroadcastMsg()
The docs give some general overview for the usage of each. The best choice really depends on your deployment architecture and scalability requirements.

  • Converting Sony PMP Files to JPEG

Does anyone know how to convert Sony PMP files to JPEG files?
My understanding is that Sony used a proprietary file format (called *.pmp) for images captured by their early digital cameras.

    Am I missing something?
I've come across the www.klingebiel.com link, but it doesn't seem to offer a solution to convert the PMP files to JPEG.
    From their post
You can convert a PMP file to JPEG format with no loss of quality by simply removing the first 124 bytes of the file and changing the extension to JPG.
The other site, www.cloanto.com, seems to be looking for a conversion tool.
    From their post
Tempest Solutions offers a free tool, Pump, which can perform a lossless conversion, but it does not support writing the PMP header metadata as EXIF. (Special thanks to Chris Klingebiel of Tempest Solutions for sharing information about PMP file format details.)

  • I am new to iTunes. How do I transfer files of Powerpoint slides into iTunes from PC and then into my iPad for use at a meeting

I am new to iTunes and the iOS in general, having just migrated from Android devices. Please advise as to how I can easily transfer files of Powerpoint slides in documents on my PC into iTunes, so that I can use Adobe or other app to get them into my iPAD to be able to use them at a conference. Thank you.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I have had an iTunes account for a while, but never really taken the time to learn to use it.  Now I have two computers, with two different versions of iTunes, with content on one that I want to transfer to the other.  Or I'd like to directly access the older libarary from the new computer.
There are a number of ways you might achieve this. The following article(s) may help you.
Moving your iTunes library to a new computer
Alternatively you might just use home sharing to share the libraries.
Plus I have some videos and audio CD's that I have never imported, and would like to bring them into iTunes and store on an external hard drive to keep from loading up my computer.  I have no idea how to accomplish all of this, and cannot find clear instructions on the website.  Is there a screen where I can access written step-by-step instructions?  I don't have the time or patience to play around and do it by trail and error.  Thanks.
If you place a CD into the CD drive, iTunes will ask you if you want to import it.
If you want iTunes to store content on an external drive, you need to tell it to do so, which you do at iTunes preferences > Advanced.
