How to convert alphanumeric ODI variable to numeric

hi,
I am using ODi 11g,
I am having an ODI variable PVV_X of alphanumeric type.
And now I am having a variable PVV_Y in which the refereshing tab has this type of select query :
select sess_beg from snp_session where sess_no = #PVV_X;
Now these two variables are in a package.
My query is that the columne sess_no in the table snp_session is of type number.
How would i comapre the alphanumeric ODI variable value to that of the numeric column value of the database table ?

What is the datatype of "PVV_Y" ?
how PVV_X is getting the value? I mean ru running any refresh query to get this value.
If "PVV_Y" is also a alphanumeric then Oracle will do an implisit datatype conversion.
To prove this , I have done a small POC..
Created a package with
PVV_X -> Declare variable with alphanumeric
PVV_X -> Set with session no
PVV_Y -> Declare varaible with alphanumeric
PVV_Y-> Refresh variable with
select sess_beg from odi_work.snp_session where sess_no=#p_odi_refresh
It worked.
Note: Please make sure the schema is correct for the refresh query.

For the below requirement follow the below steps.
I have to execute the 'Insert of flow into I$ table' step of IKM, only if Error records are present in my source table. The IKM i am using is IKM SQL Incremental Update.
Create a new step before 'Insert of flow into I$ table' step, i say "Check Error Record".
Command on source
Technology : <your source technology>
Schema: Whichever schema points to ur source error table
Command:
select count(*) as row_count from <table_name>
Command on Target
Technology : Jython
Command:
CountData=#row_count
if CountData>0:
##raise ' \n\nThere are error records in source error table'
Thats it.
This will stop the flow in case of error records persist in ur source table, else it allow the flow to next Insert I$ step.
P.S: Replace ## with TAB.

From the plugin I want to convert the "text variable" to string (in principle I should use the method "VariableToString (..)" of "ITextVariable")"
My problem is, how to find the text varial from its name (I think I should use the method "FindLocationsUsed(..)" of "ITextVariableSuite") and then convert it to String
I don't know how to use interfaces ITextVariable and ITextVariableSuite

I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.2
When I insert a row in a entity object I want to create another row in another entity object, but when I am setting the attribute for the new row I have a problem.
Here is the code:
int a = EO1Impl.paramA;
NameEO2Impl.setAttribute("Attribute1", a);
The error is that variable a is an int, while Attribute1 is a Number.
How can convert an int to a Number.

If a, as you say is an int, and assuming you mean an oracle.jbo.domain.Number,
NameEO2Impl.setAttribute("Attribute1", new oracle.jbo.domain.Number(a));works just fine.

How to convert a scalar variable into a 1-D length N array?

Hi guys,
I am new in Labview. I use Labview to accquire the output data from a measurement circuit with RS232 bus. The result needs some mathematical operation to have a meaningful number. After this operation the result is a scalar variable that is changing as new data read from my circuit. I want to see the power spectrum of this signal so tried to use FFT block (Labview 6.1, signal processing->frequency domain->real fft / power spectrum). However because the fft block needs 1-D array type of data as input, I can not just connect my result to the fft block. The error it gives me is:

The type of the source is double [64-bit real (~15 digit precision)].
The type of the sink is 1-D array of double [64-bit real (~15 digit precision)].
So I guess I have to do something to convert my result into a 1-D array with a length N, which is the number of data I use for one FFT transform. But the question is how.
I pass the data directly through a For-loop, the result is a 1-D array with all the members having the same value as the input value(my calculated result). Then next time a new result come in, all of the members of that array changes to the new value.

How to sort alphanumeric values in datagrid numerically

I have a datagrid column which contains AlphaNumeric values.Is there a way i can sort these values in a numerical order
eg:
having d1,d11,12,13,d2,d3,d4
d2 should come after d1..
order should be d1,d2,d3,d4,d11,d12,d13

Why oh why? What do you want to achieve?
Let me tell you: there is a way to do what you try to do, but it's not recommended and should be used only very sparingly. Especially not in anything like your code, that resembles normal business logic (as opposed to an application framework such as Spring, for example).
Can you explain what exactly you want to do with that? Why should a Teacher be able to call any random method ony any other class. And what good would that do?

How to convert a String Variable to a Number and retain decimal place

Here is my problem!
I am receiving information from a source that I cannot control. It is sending me Numbers in to form of strings.
Ex: 12,200.49
I have tried usingval() but only get " 12 " because it stops when it see a comma or period.
I have also tried using Replace() to remove the comma and period, but then my number grows, because the last two digits are now part of the number and no longer behind a decimal point.
Here is some example code

How to use ODI procedures into a ODI variable

I have the below condition
select c1 from table where c1>#ODIVAR1 and use the output of this query in a variable to define the package flow
If output=0 package flow goes as XXX
else
flow goes as YYY.
So please suggest how to use a ODI variable to capture the procedures putput and use it in package flow in this case.

Step2. Evaluate above variable (operator = , value 0 )

How to convert variables on program to shared variables?

Hi I want the controls and indicators of an already existing programs to be available on the Data Dashboard of a tablet/phone. What are the steps to follow if I want to convert them into shared variables so that I can send them to the dashboard. I just found results on how to create new shared variables.
Also the existing program is a state machine. So will the variables be available on the dashboard simulteneously or is it possible to visualise the controls in the form of multiples tabs on Dashboard, like it is on the original program?

I don't know of any way to convert the controls to shared variables. You're going to have to create the shared variables fresh and wire them up in a way that makes sense for your application.
As for tabs...kind of. Each dashboard can be configured to have different screens and you can move between them. This is probably the guide you want to follow:

ODI is complaning it cannot locate the file. Try replacing the '/' character with a '\' after file in the designated filepath.
