How to copy a value between items??

Hi friends,
[Apps R12]
I don't exactly know ho to do this:
Imagine you have a LOV.. and it retrieves a value in one of its attributes...
When selecting a value of that LOV.. I want one of those attribute values... be copied to other item in the same screen...
It would be te same as in Forms:
When-validate the lov ...
:block1.item2:=:block1.item1
where item1 is one of the columns retrieved by the LOV and item2 is another field on the screen....
Could any of you provide an example of how to do this?

Hi I'm facing a problem.
It started when thinking to the clone method for cloning objects.
And developed into a problem when trying to making something more complicate that just cloning.
Suppose you have two JPanels and one is a copy of the other suppose that u feed the copy to some methods for processing.
These methods modify simple data (ints,Strings, CustomClasses) and swing components too.
Now when I get the object back I want to copy all of the fields values to the original JPanel except for those who represent swing components or the like.
I want to do this automatically by writing some few rows of code.
How can I do this using reflection ?
How can I filter the Fields objects that I get from jpanelInstance.getClass().getDeclaredFields(); ? Which metod should I use then to check if is a subclass of java.awt.Component ?
I've read about many things on using reflection to invoke methods, constructors and so on.
But how do I get the fields values as I get the fields objects ?

Are you targeting a "worst design award"? What kind of "processing" would take place on a UI component?
I am sure from what you write that you missed to seperate your model from your view. Read about MVC and retry designing your application.

Essentially, you want to use the AfterProperties property to access the changed field value.
E.g.

Create a function group.
Define global data (there is a similiar menu point to jump to the top include).
Create one or two function modules, with which you can read and write the global data.
In your BADI methods you can access the global data with help of your function modules. It will stay in memory through the whole transaction.

How to Copy a value of a String to the RAM memory?

I was wondering how to copy a String into the ram memory (consider you're doing right click on THIS word and choose 'Copy'; the String's Value will be to the ram memory for a later Paste).
In my application, a user has a table and he right click on it and choose Copy. I get the value of the item (Obj) but face dificulties to add it to RAM.
my code looks like this:

Define Parameters in Form2, and pass parameters with the same name from Forms1 with the parameter list option of your call_form built-in.

Urgent: How to copy multiple sales order items into a return sales order?

I have a requirement to copy multiple sales order items into a single return sales order. For example, generated return sales order have 2 items, item 10 is created with reference to sales item 2610/10 and item 20 is created with reference to sales item 2611/20. What's more, when it happens, copy control should be taken care of. I know it is possible to create this kind of order by transaction. But how to do it in coding?
In current SAP release, there is only BAPI for creating with reference on 1:1 relationship which means copy one document to another but what I need is N:1 copy.
Any suggestion is high appreciated!!

If you are creating sales order by using bapi then after calling bapi you can check import parameter SALESDOCUMENT in the bapi function module .If this parameter is not initial then sales order is created in this case you can create return order. If this import parameter is initial then sales order is not created and you cannot use return bapi function module.
Bapi is simple method than BDC.
In above case it is required to call BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT after every successful sales order creation.
One more important point is you have to clear import parameter SALESDOCUMENT before calling sales order creation function module.

I'm doing a jsp, bc4j application (JDeveloper 9.0.3), and I need to share some values between different jsp pages. To do this,
I have used the tag <jsp:usebean.....></jsp:usebean> in this way:
on pageone.jsp
<jsp:useBean id="param" scope="session" class="MyPackage.Parameters" ></jsp:useBean>
on pagetwo.jsp
<jsp:useBean id="param" scope="session" class="MyPackage.Parameters" ></jsp:useBean>
and so on, in order to refer to the same instance of the class "Parameters".
After deploying, the application works well only if the client is the same pc where the AS resides, otherwise the variables of "Parameters" are null.

SPEL cannot be used for this purpose.
You need to extend the controller and copy the value like..
VoRow.setAttribute("XXXAttribute",VoRow.getAttribute("YYYAttribute"));

How to copy Characteristics of main item to sub item after RBATP?

We are having MTO process, where we are creating sales order
for configurable material. Then we are triggering RBATP and getting
confirmation based on product allocations.
But while creating sub items after RBATP, sales order not updating
configurable characteristic values from main item (TAPA) to sub item (TAN).
System is asking to maintain characteristic values for sub item again during
RBATP manually.
How we can copied these characteristic values of configurable material from
main item to sub item automatically?

How to reference the value of items in a generic report

I have created a generic report. The source is a PL/SQL-Function returning a query stored in a package of the parsing schema, using the apex_item package. I set the p_item_id values depending on p_idx and rownum. In the browser I can see the unique (id="...") of the items. The report works well.
One column is an analytical funtion and shows for every row the same value. The column is hidden. Depending on that value I want to show or hide buttons.
How can I get the value of this column. Apex_application.g_fxx don't work. Apex_application.g_fxx.COUNT =0 for all possible columns.
So how can I reference the value in the report.
Any suggestions?

I have a requirement in which i have been provided with two tables(T1,T2) of same table structure ,i need to copy their entries into a table view with the same structure as the two tables(T1,T2) .
suppose T1 has entries name age T2 has entries

the view should have all the entries,duplicate values no issues ...

How to combine Submit value and item values in report condition?

What I have is a report with some input parameters, one of which is a Select List with Submit that forces population of a second Select List. There is also a GO button. Depending on the combination of the two drop-downs, one of three report regions then gets displayed. This all works fine, but the users would like the report NOT to show UNTIL they click on the GO button. I'm trying to figure out how to tweak my conditions to include a Submit value along with item values. Can someone suggest a solution?
(PS. I'm using dependent selects because I'm still using APEX 3.2)

When your page is submitted due to the the parent select list's value getting changed the APEX 'REQUEST' variable is set to the name of the select list item.
You could perhaps use this to perhaps set a hidden item on the page whose value can then be checked in the conditions that control the display of your report regions.

How to copy automation data between projects?

I can copy regions from one project to another, but not automation data (e.g. volume curves). Why? How to work around this?

In project one, open the Automation Event List for the region in question, select all, goto project two, do the same but use paste instead.
Slightly awkward perhaps, but it works. It would have been easier if the automation would just follow the regions when you drag them between projects.
Edit: the Automation Event List is only available as a KC, Ctrl + Cmd + E as default.
