How to copy all the data from old computer to new computer (server)

Dear all,
As I want to upgrade the server from old computer to a new one.
I want to ask how and easy way to copy all of table, sequence, ......data from existing old computer to new computer.
The old server is window 2000 Server with oracle 10g
The new server may window 2003 Server with oracle 10g
Thanks a lot
Francis SZE

As far as I can see you are copying from db10g for windows to another host on the same platform and same OS, so a simple cold backup taken from the source database can be restored at the target host. You must first make sure the configuration files and service be created prior to performing the database startup procedure at the target host. You may also as suggested, perform an rman duplication task

    I recently transferred my ITunes library to an external hard drive.  I made sure to copy all the data from the saved location.  After the transfer I noticed that a lot of albums are missing the first song and some recently purchased albums are missing.  Is there any way to recover the data?  Thanks for any help.

    I may have found an answer here:

    They only thing I can assume is that my external hard drive was slow to start and iTunes defaulted to its old directory (see the last paragraph at the link above). However, once my external was recognized shouldn't everything have fixed itself?

    how do i transfer my data from old iphone to new iphone

    You need to sync the data from your old iPhone, to the computer via iTunes.  Once the data is on the computer, you then need to sync it to the new iPhone, also via iTunes.
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/how-to/#video-sync - this is a link with a short video that teaches you how to sync your iPod / iPhone using iTunes
    If you sycn with iCloud, you can also sync some of the data via iCloud.  This may not work for all you music, if it was not purchased via iTunes.

  • How to retrieve all the data from a BLOB using view-generated accessor

    I am using JDeveveloper 10g v. 10.1.3 and am storing an image in a database as a blob object and need to retrieve all of the data to get the entire image and store it in an ImageIcon. The code I have works partially in that it retrieves the correct data, but only gets a piece of it, leaving me with a partial image.
    AppModuleImpl am;
    ImageVwViewImpl vo;
    am = (AppModuleImpl)panelBinding.getDataControl().getDataProvider();
    vo = (ImageVwViewImpl)am.findViewObject("ImageVwView");
    ImageVwViewRowImpl ivo = (ImageVwViewRowImpl)vo.getCurrentRow();
    ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon(ivo.getImage().getBytes(1, (int)ivo.getImage().getBufferSize()));
    jULabel1.setIcon(icon);I either need to know how to use a stream to get the data out (from BlobDomain method getBinaryStream()), or how to get the other chunks of data separately.
    edit: I know the problem is that getBufferSize() returns an int which is too small to hold all the data, but need to know what to use instead. Thanks!

    This is the code I'm using now. Same problem :(
    AppModuleImpl am;
            ImageVwViewImpl vo;
            am = (AppModuleImpl)panelBinding.getDataControl().getDataProvider();
            vo = (ImageVwViewImpl)am.findViewObject("ImageVwView");
            ImageVwViewRowImpl ivo = (ImageVwViewRowImpl)vo.getCurrentRow();
            ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon(ivo.getImage().toByteArray());
            jULabel1.setIcon(icon);

  • How Do I Move My Data From Old MacBook to New MacBook Pro?

    Hey everyone
    So I just bought a new Macbook Pro 15" to replace my old black Macbook. My old Mac runs Tiger and is an Intel Core 2 Duo. I was wondering, how do I move my files over to the new Macbook? Do I use a FireWire? If so, does the data from my old Macbook get deleted or is it still on the old computer?
    I've never done something like this before so if anybody can help me on the file transfer methods, that would be great! Basically I'm hoping that all my music, photos, my iPhone data, etc.. all get successfully put on my new Macbook!
    Thanks!

    Hi and congrats on your new Mac.
    Use the Migration Assistant (Applications/Utilities)
    If both computers are using Mac OS X, you can connect the two computers with a FireWire cable and use Migration Assistant, located in the Utilities folder in your Applications folder. Migration Assistant transfers your files and important settings to your new computer.
    Just launch the Migration Assistant application and follow the instructions.

  • I have an iPhone 4 now and I just got the iPhone 4s so how do I backup all my data from old phone to new?

    I have  the iPhone 4 and just upgraded to iPhone 4s how do I backup my data before I activate my iphone 4s? Please help!!

    iOS devices are designed to be sync'd with a single computer, so thinking of future updates, backups and so forth, yes, it would be best to do it on your computer - the one you normally use for iTunes.
    Note that backing up also does not backup everything in iTunes.  Contacts, for example, will be backed up into whatever contact management program you normally use on your computer (eg. outlook on a Windows PC, contacts on a Mac).
    If you have never backed up your iPhone, now is the opportune time to do so and learn how.  Not having a backup means if anything goes wrong with your phone (or you loose it or it is stolen), you risk losing everything on it.

  • How to transfer all the data from Logic pro to other drive (faster)?

    Hi
    I am trying to upgrade the performance of my Mac and decided to upgrade the RAM and to use a dedicated HardDrive for Logic Pro using firewire (i have a mac mini server...). Think the Processor e fast enough...
    How can i transfer all the information for that drive?
    Can i move the media library from the OS drive to the new drive? or has it to stay were initially instaled?
    I moved to Mac because my Windows "Super 16GB QuadCore PC" was giviing me trouble...in relation to connections, critical errors...
    I am a novice on the Mac "ways"...
    Can someone give me directions?

    Logic doesn't store the majority of its data in designated library places, so you can put your session files and audio files wherever you want. If you move the location of something, say an audio file, and logic doesn't know where to find that asset, then it'll present you with a dialog box which asks you if you can tell it where you moved it to, or if you'd like it to go off and search for files of that name for you. They're all just files on a hard disk. There's only a few things which have to be stored in particular places, such as preferences or sampler instruments. Anything that isn't part of the program, you can store it wherever you want. In a session you can have for example all the live parts on one hard disk, and then all your samples on another hard disk. It's all arbitrary and can be defined by you.
    So yes, you can generally keep your media library wherever you want (as far as Logic is concerned).

  • How to show all the data from playback area so that the statictics max and min analysis applies to the entire logged data.

    I have a data file with 19 channels of voltage and I what to retrieve the maximum, minimum and mean of the entire run for each channel. When I do playback it does only 25 seconds of data and being a newbie I have no idea nor can see anyway of changing this.
    One thought I had was to run playback with a save to LVM then go to mointor area and load the saved file followed by a statictics step.
    Is there any other option?

    We need more information to help you.  Specifically, the following would be nice:
    What format is your data file in (can you post an example?  Please zip it to save space.)
    Can you post your read and/or write code?  The problem may be there.
    What version of LabVIEW are you using.  This can effect our recommendations.
    As you discerned, there is no fundamental reason for this problem.  On a side note, LVM is a poor format for large amounts of data or a disk buffer.  I would recommend TMDS or HWS, depending on your version of LabVIEW.

  • How to move ALL musical content from old PC to new Mac

    Sorry if this has been asked a million times before, but since iTunes has been updated and processes get changed/revamped, etc., please let me know your opinion on this:
    I am getting my first-ever Mac. I want to move my approximately 2,600 songs from my HP Windows 7 laptop to the new MacBook. These songs consist of content ripped from CDs, Amazon MP3 purchases, and iTunes purchases. Will authorizing the new Mac in iTunes and turning on Homeshare be the best way to transfer ALL music or would it be better to do that with an iPod? How can I be sure that all content, including non-iTunes purchases, is transferred? Thanks.

    Your best bet is to use an external drive to transfer everything over.

  • I want to transfer the data from old eMac to new-ish intel iMac. Before I do, I should disconnect internet, yes? Can I just pull the modem's cable out of the computer?

    Disconnect internet first?

    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2295 Explains how to work it.  And yes places like http://www.macsales.com/ offer Firewire 6 pin to 9 pin connectors which can be connected to the Thunderbolt/Firewire adapter of modern Macs or just plain Firewire 800 port on older iMac Intels.

  • How to upload the data from existing ods to new cube?

    Hi all,
    There is an existing ods and reports are been created for that ods. My task is to create a cube and pull out the data from the ods to cube.
    I have created a cube with update rule. And i want to know to how to load all the data from the existing ods to the newly created cube.
    thanxs
    haritha

    Hi haritha,
    If you've already created the update-rules, try to create cube, than make a mapping between ODS & Cube.
    If done,
    1. Right-Click on ODS, find the menu update data to data target.
    2. Choose for Init.
    If you wanna make it update data to cube automatically, then you must setup the setting in ODS.
    1. double-click on it.
    2. In setting, you'll see the option for "automatically update data to data target".
    3. Choose for it.
    Hopefully it can help you a lot.
    Regards,
    Niel.
    thanks for any points you choose to assign.

  • How to transfer iBooks books & PDFs from old iPad to new iPad?

    (Well, it seems my title got truncated; originally it read: How to transfer iBooks books & PDFs from old iPad to new iPad?)
    I've recently gotten an iPad Air to replace my previous iPad 2. I have a bunch of books and PDFs in iBooks on the old iPad, and want to transfer them to the new iPad.
    A search of Apple Support informs me that anything I've purchased from iBooks can be downloaded at any time to any of my devices (works like Amazon's Kindle system, apparently), but nearly all the content I have in iBooks on the iPad I've downloaded from other sources, so it won't be in my iBooks Store account (I might have bought one book there).
    I've also seen several instructions on how to copy all my data from the old iPad to the new via Backup & Restore, but that seems to require restoring the new iPad to factory setup, which would delete everything I have on it now – including a bunch more books I've gotten since I started using the new iPad. And I don't want to copy everything, only the books/PDFs (the new iPad has everything I want, except for the books).
    Since there seems to be no way to transfer files directly from one iPad to the other, it seems it must be done via iTunes on my MacBook Pro (and I want to copy all the books/PDFs to the computer anyway). So I connected the iPad 2 to my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.9.4) and opened iTunes (11.3.1). Then clicked on the iPad's name in the sidebar to the left, and on Books below it. I see a list of the books on the iPad. I check the little boxes by all their names to select them (not sure if that's necessary, but it seems like a good idea), then click on the Sync button at the lower right, to the right of the bar at the bottom of the window with colored bands showing memory usage on the iPad. A message appears saying "The app 'iBooks' was not installed on the iPad '[name]' because the app could not be found."
    But iBooks is already on the iPad; I have it open and see the list of books in it, which matches the list shown in iTunes. The message has a "More Information" button; I click that and it opens an Apple Support article titled "iOS: An app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open": "Learn what to do if you see one of these issues with an app you downloaded from the App Store on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: The app unexpectedly quits; The app stops responding; You can’t open the app." But none of these apply; the iBooks app is on the iPad, and works fine there.
    The article suggests: (1) Restart the App. I've done that, no help. (2) Restart your device. Done that, no help. (3) Update your device software and your apps. The iPad is running iOS 6.1.3, iBooks 3.1.3; not the latest versions, no, but I'd rather not update it to newer, bigger, more power-hungry versions if I don't have to. Is it that iTunes 11 doesn't work with iOS 6? I haven't seen this stated anywhere.
    So instead I click the OK button on the message, but nothing further happens, so far as I can tell: None of the books/PDFs on the iPad (about 380MB) appear in iBooks on the MacBook Pro.
    I click on "Books" in the row of words across the top of the iTunes window, and it shows me the single PDF presently in iBooks on the MacBook Pro. I click the box by "Sync Books", and a message appears: "Are you sure you want to remove existing music, movies, TV shows, books, and tones from this iPad and sync with this iTunes library?" Well, no, that's exactly what I DON'T want to do. I don't want to erase the 380MB of books and PDFs on the iPad and replace them with the single PDF now in iBooks on the MacBook Pro. I want to copy the books from the iPad 2 to iTunes, so I can copy them back to the new iPad Air (if, God willing, I can figure out how to do that without erasing the books now on the iPad Air).
    I've been working with Macintosh computers for over 26 years. It's always been a fairly simple process to copy files from one computer to another. I don't want to "sync" all the data (address book, email, God knows what else) on the iPad with the corresponding information on the MacBook Pro – especially if that will erase everything on the iPad (which has information not on the MacBook Pro, e.g. 380MB of books). I just want to copy the books and PDFs in iBooks from the old iPad to the MacBook Pro, then to the new iPad, adding them to the books on the new iPad, so I don't lose anything.
    Can anybody give me a clue?

    Transferring your prepaid cellular data account depends on your carrier. AT&T lets you move it yourself when you go to Cellular Data in Settings and log into your account with your previous AT&T user name and password. For iPads with Sprint service, you can set up an account on the new iPad and contact Sprint Customer Care (888-211-4727 and go through the menus) to deactivate the old plan and get credit for unused service. For Verizon, call the company’s customer service number for mobile broadband support (800-786-8419) and ask to have your account transferred.

    Yes, windows to Mac too.

    Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.
