How to covert EBCDIC format to ASCII in JMS Adapter??????????

Hi All,
I am developing one JMS to File scenario, in which JMS adapter will pick file which is in EBCDIC format from WebSphere MQ and send it to receiver file system by receiver file adapter. when i am trying this, i am getting file in EBCDIC format in receiver file system, but the file system is expecting data in ASCII format.
Is there any options to encode the EBCDIC format to ASCII in Sender JMS Adapter or Receiver File Adapter.

It was Basis / Database / OS staff that configured this aspect of the connection, and I am afraid I do not have any more details.

How to get the incoming file name using JMS adapter and SOAP adapter

Hi Everybody,
   In one of my interface i need to get the file name of incoming flat file using JMS adapter at sender side. and then i am using xslt to convert it to IDOC and then posting to SAP IDOC.
my incoming filname are in this form price<DateTimestamp>.txt. when i do the tranformation this incoming file name should be part of one element in the IDOC which i am posting.
EX:
<IDOC
<REF>price<DateTimestamp>.txt</REF>
</IDOC>
Hope it is clear to everybody. I need your suggestion how i can capture this incoming file name and send it as part of IDOC.

If they are passing it in message id or correlation id,
you can access it using

How to hanlde breaked large messages in sender JMS adapter

Hi,
I have been asked like 'how can we handle breaked large messages in sender JMS adapter?'and lets say I am getting some messages as it is and some are breaked into small segements for the mesaages that are large....
do we need to use module,if so is there any standard module that we can use to hanlde this type of scenarios?

any inputs on how to set the message format (MQFMT) to string (MQSTrforcibly using JMS?
I have an application which writes a TextMessage to a remote Queue which is being received in MQHRF2 format.
This needs to be in MQSTR format.

You can do something like
queue.setTargetClient(JMSC.MQJMS_CLIENT_NONJMS_MQ);
To set the Target as NONJMS client, so that it will accept Text message.

How to ignore Recordset name in XML(Sender JMS Adapter)?

Hi All.
I am using Sender JMS Adapter along with content conversion.
I have put in Parameter:
Plain2XMLService xml.ignoreRecordsetName true
still the Inbound payload in SXI_MONITOR has Node Recordset, which should not be the case.
Please advice, does this ignoreRecordsetName works in JMS adapter, if Yes does it works same way as in File Adapter content conversion?

can you try
ignoreRecordsetName true instead of xml.ignoreRecordsetName
also try to not give any value for the xml.recordsetName parameter.
I actually doubt if we can ignore the record set name using the module.

How to send message to a queue using JMS adapter

Hi,
I need to send messages to the default queue(demoQueue) available in the server using a JMS adapter in a BPEL process.
I tried doing the same by using an invoke activity that invokes the JMS adapter service to send the message to the queue. I deployed this process in the server and gave an input to send it to the queue. The prcoess executed without any errors in the BPEL console.
I am also using Hermes v1.0 to monitor the queue but it says that it dint receive any messages in the queue to read.
I am sorry that i have restrictions from the client that i can't post the code here. Please let me know if anyone has got any solution or if you know any other way of doing the same.

Conversion from UTF to EBCDIC format- Urgent

I want to convert the data from UTF* format to EBCDIC format and create a flat file for the same. Is there any utility tools available in oracle. If not what are the other possibilities? pls help me.

I am trying to convert the normal text data to EBCDIC. As we all know, there is a corresponding value for each normal character in ASCII/HEX/BINARY/EBCDIC etc.
Using CONVERT I am able to see some data converted correctly but rest of hte accented characters not correctly.
select convert('^', 'US7ASCII','EBCDIC' ) from dual;
select convert(';' ,'WE8EBCDIC500','US7ASCII') from dual;
^ = ascii normal txt
; = corresponding ebcdic of ^
Internally CONVERT function seems to be doing correct conversion but there is a problem wiht the actually new - to be replaced characters. SQLPLUS is not able to display all the characters correctly. For all the accented chars of "a", it shows plain english a, same wiht e , u etc.
I would like to know is there anyone who knows what client side settings need to be done so that the CONVERT function output is displayed correctly on SQLPLUS.
I am using Oracle 9i Rel 2
NLS_LANG on my client (win XP) is set to AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252
As seen in the CONVERT function, the correct charset is - 'WE8EBCDIC500'
And the db params are as follows --

Now once i produce this file, i need to compare this file, with another EBCDIC file.
This second EBCDIC file is got by converting the original ASCII file using Mainframe emulator tool.
I want the boarders help in wrting a code which will help me in comparing tw0 EBCDIC file's content byte by byte..

Eh? Just compare them. Since you're just comparing the bytes, you don't need a java.io.Reader; you just need a java.io.InputStream. (Or two, really.)
You've already shown you can handle this...just open two input streams, one for each file, and compare each byte, byte-by-byte. As soon as two bytes are not equal, you've shown that they're not the same. If you reach the end of both the files and all the bytes are the same, then they have identical contents (regardless of encoding).
Maybe you're being thrown by the encoding? It's really not relevant if you're just checking to see if the bytes are the same.

while reading i am getting most of hex charters are same except some places like instead of taking 00 its writing 0 and instead of f8 its writing fff.
AFP is a IBM format for printing. Somehow i will be able to read that but how to covert it back to that format and store to that file.

How to provide text formatting options to user from a text field

Hi,
My requirement is - in the interactive form, a comments field needs to be provided where user should be able to enter text with formatting options like
Headers
indentations
bold/italic
bullet points and numbers
Once user enters the formatted texts in a text field, data needs to be displayed/printed in the same format. Could you help me on how to provide these formatting options to the user for a particular text field?
I understand that once I define the text field with format XHTML (with RTF), user formatting can be captured and displayed in the same way. But I am not sure on how to provide the formatting options for the text field.

if you select a text field for Rich Text and the press Ctrl + E you'll get a bar for all available text formatting options in Acrobat/Reader.

I need to know Date format From date of locale.
suppose there is a date "01/25/2010" date in date field I want to get string "mm/dd/yyyy". Actually I have to pass date format to backend when I call RFC.
Is there any way to get Date format from "Locale" object. I should get date format for local object
I get local object from "UserSessionData" object but how to get Date format from it.
I am not looking for Date value. I am looking for current local date format ("mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy or mon/dd/yyyy) whatever local date format. I could not find example which show how to get date format from "Locale" object.
