Conversion from UTF  to EBCDIC format- Urgent

I want to convert the data from UTF* format to EBCDIC format and create a flat file for the same. Is there any utility tools available in oracle. If not what are the other possibilities? pls help me.
Thanks
Krishnaraj

Hi ,
I am trying to convert the normal text data to EBCDIC. As we all know, there is a corresponding value for each normal character in ASCII/HEX/BINARY/EBCDIC etc.
Using CONVERT I am able to see some data converted correctly but rest of hte accented characters not correctly.
select convert('^', 'US7ASCII','EBCDIC' ) from dual;
select convert(';' ,'WE8EBCDIC500','US7ASCII') from dual;
^ = ascii normal txt
; = corresponding ebcdic of ^
Internally CONVERT function seems to be doing correct conversion but there is a problem wiht the actually new - to be replaced characters. SQLPLUS is not able to display all the characters correctly. For all the accented chars of "a", it shows plain english a, same wiht e , u etc.
I would like to know is there anyone who knows what client side settings need to be done so that the CONVERT function output is displayed correctly on SQLPLUS.
I am using Oracle 9i Rel 2
NLS_LANG on my client (win XP) is set to AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252
As seen in the CONVERT function, the correct charset is - 'WE8EBCDIC500'
And the db params are as follows --
===========================================
SQL> select * from NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS;
PARAMETER VALUE
NLS_LANGUAGE AMERICAN
NLS_TERRITORY AMERICA
NLS_CURRENCY $
NLS_ISO_CURRENCY AMERICA

  • Poor raw conversion from Fujifilm X100 .raf format in Lightroom 3 and 4

I'm seeing very poor results when doing raw conversion from Fujifilm X100 .raf format. Who can I contact about this? Is there anything I can do?
See below for what is supposed to be a white curtain, lit by stage lighting. It results in a blown out blue channel, serious loss of detail, and very ugly gradient.
(Lightroom 4.2, Camera Raw 7.2 on LEFT  --- Fujifilm X100 in-camera jpg on RIGHT)
    And for more detail:
(Lightroom 4.2, Camera Raw 7.2 on TOP  --- Fujifilm X100 in-camera jpg on BOTTOM)
(Lightroom 4.2, Camera Raw 7.2 on LEFT --- Fujifilm X100 in-camera jpg on RIGHT)

The blue light is so intense that it is, or almost is, saturating the sensor.
The camera’s built-in raw conversion handles this by shifting the color to cyan—clipping the blue and allowing the green to contribute more.  I doubt there was cyan lighting in the scene, only blue.
Adobe does not shift the hue, but this makes the blue seem over saturated.  Adobe’s conversion may be more colorimetrically correct, but less pleasing in this case of intense lighting that the sensor cannot accurately record.
It is a difference in camera profile used between the camera and Adobe.  Since Adobe does not supply camera-match profiles for much more than Nikon and Canon cameras, you’re not going to be able to fix things other than managing the over-saturation using HSL or WB or other things like lower-vibrance, higher saturation.
You could try making your own camera profile using an X-Rite Color-Checker Passport or the color-checker and the Adobe DNG Profile Editor:

  • Encoding conversion from UTF-16 to UTF-8

    Hi all
I have a simple java String which is in UTF-16 format. I have to convert it to UTF-8 format coz my application expects UTF-8 only.
Can any body tell me what should i do for this???
    thanks

but isn't it true that java supports only UTF-16 strings.
When i create the new String by using a UTF-8 byte array , what i feel is, it'll again convert it to UTF-16 data.
    Suppose i have a String s1="dd" in UTF-16 format.
i have another one s2="ddd" in UTF-8 format
if i perform s1+s2 operation , how will JVL come to nkow about the encoding value for both strings??how will it perform the operation??
plz respond back and clear my doubt........

  • Formate Conversion: From Reports to Msword Format

    Hi all
I am using oracle 9i reports. I generate one report and the out put in rtf format. when run this report and get the out put in file and can see by double click on it and its going open in Msword automatically. my problem start when i run this report from the forms using the run_report object and then suing web.show_documents to see the report in word. its working fine but every time it ask me the editor where i have to open this file. so i have to select Msword then its open. My all users can not do this one. so is there any way that it should be open automatically with out asking.
    here is my code
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||substr(v_rep,instr(v_rep,'_',-1)+1)|| '?'||'server=' || :global.reportserver,'_blank');
and in my report object property i have set all the property that the format is rtf
    Thanks

I believe that is not possible. When getting a RTF document from a web site, Internet Explorer always asks you if you want to open or save the file. The file cannot be viewed directly in IE. That has to do with the fact that MS Word has to convert the RTF file first before it can be displayed.
There may be IE plugins on Internet that can directly view RTF files in the browser, but I'm not sure.
Another option is to use PDF instead of RTF. PDF can be viewed directly in the browser.

  • Conversion from ABC to 123 format causes data loss

    Hi,
I have imported Excel data onto Lumira. The data set contains a "Net Price" column which is detected as ABC. Whenever I convert it to numerical format, I lose some data. Please see the snapshots. What can be the issue? Any background information about conversions?

    Hi,
I too faced the same issues, but may be we can try this one.
Split the data with currency using format option to just data(number) and then convert that particular data(only numeric) part to measure.
I don't think we have any option to append currency and make it as a measure.
May be in the further releases
    Thanks,

  • Conversion from Word 2003 changed format

Converted a manuscript from Word 2003 to PDF. The PDF changed the format/margins slightly, resulting in different pagination. How do I work around that?

Most likely what has happened is that the PDF printer resolution is different than your default printer. While you are editing the DOC file, change the printer to the Adobe PDF printer and go through the WORD file to get the pages the way you want. Then the resultant PDF should be the same. WORD usually reflows and document to best flow for the selected printer. So if you change the printer before you print (or select PDF Maker), then WORD reformats the document for output. This is the difference between a word processor and a layout program.

  • HTTP-Receiver: Code page conversion error from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1

    Hello experts,
In one of our interfaces we are using the payload manipulation of the HTTP receiver channel to change the payload code page from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1. And from time to time we are facing the following error:
u201CCode page conversion error UTF-8 from system code page to code page ISO-8859-1u201D
Iu2019m quite sure that this error occurs because of non-ISO-8859-1 characters in the processed message. And here comes my question:
Is it possible to change the error behaviour of the code page converter, so that the error will be ignored?
Perhaps the converter could replace the disruptive character with e.g. u201C#u201D?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    Thomas

    Hello.
I'm not 100% sure if this will help, but it's a good Reading material on the subject (:

  • Problem in price conversion from INR to USD- Urgent

    Dear All,
In the export sales scenario, we are having the contract with customer in INR and based on that value only the excise invoice should be raised. After 2-3 days commercial invoice is to be raised based on the exchange rate applicable on that date.
I have created sales order in INR, did proforma invoice based on order then delivery document & then excise invoice based on proforma order. Then to raise the commercial invoice, i go to change mode of order to change the currency from INR to USD. The conversion from INR to USD is not happening correctly, it is showing the lesser value than the actual value.
I have maintained exchange rate type as BLB under CIN company code settings & then assigned same in sales data of customer master. The exchange rate is also maintained in OB08 for M as well as BLB type but still the conversion is not happening correctly.
Can anybody please suggest me the cause & solution for this urgently.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Antima

    Hi
When you change the copy control settings it will consider the exchange rate that is maintained at the time of billing.
i.e. if you have order of a previous day and billing of some other day then in that case if the exchange rate is changing on the billing date then it will consider the exchange rate of the billing date.
Hence when you are creating the billing document check the exchange rate getting picked (Whether it is on the billing date or order date).
I didnt get your other problem. Do you want to change the decimal places in the Currency? (You are in big trouble. If that is so). The settings for the same is available in customising SAP Netweaver > General Settings > Currencies > Set Decimal Places.
BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL BEFORE USING THIS.
Please clarify your doubt if that is not the case.
    Regards
    Sunil

  • Char set conversion to and from UTF-7

    Hi,
I am working on Char set conversion to and from UTF-7. However I cannot find and ChatToByte classes for UTF-7 in i18n.jar . Any ideas as how to proceed further with this issue. I feel that there must be a way since UTF-7 is a pretty popular charset especially in emails.
    Thanx in advance.
    Khurram

    Hi!
I had the same problem a couple of months ago. I didn't find any classes in the jdk distribution to do this, nor did I find any classes or package on the web that did this.
The solution? I got a bit of C code from one of my working mates and converted it to Java. I have the code, but my company own the code. I have to check if its ok to share this code with you.
BTW. If you find any package on the web that does this, pleas inform me.
    Regards

  • Date conversion from Excel to the SAP format

    Hi,
I have created a BDC program which uploads daat from Excel sheet.
There is a date field also, the format of which can be any as per the end user (it will be one of those allowed by SAP).
However, the file will be used for execution by another user who may have a date setting which is different than that from the one in Excel.
Eg. End User's date format: DD.MM.YYYY, SAP User's date format: MM/DD/YYYY
So, how do I convert the date format from excel to the format which will be accepted by the transaction during the recording?
    Regards,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
I have faced the same issue while uploading the date to the bdc.
if ur date format is DD.MM.YYYY in the excel file, first of all you need to change this to dats format ie YYYYMMDD ie character8 format and pass to the bdc, it will automatically convert to sap format
ie you need to convert splitting at .
    data lv_date type char10,
            lv_dd type char02,
            lv_mm type char02,
           lv_yyyy type char04,
    v_date type char08.
    lv_date = '30.12.2011'.
    split lv_date at '.' into lv_dd lv_mm lv_yyyy.
    if strlen(lv_dd) lt 2.
       concatenate '0' lv_dd into lv_dd.
    endif.
    if strlen(lv_mm) lt 2.
       concatenate '0' lv_mm into lv_mm.
    endif.
    concatenate lv_yyyy lv_mm lv_dd into v_date.
"Please use the variable V_DATE to populate to ur bdc"

  • Conversion from Robohelp 9 to Wiki format

    Greetings!
I've searched online and in the forums for an answer to this question, but almost everything is dated 4 to 5 years ago. Hopefully, it's time to start talking about this again.
I've just realized that when my client asked for a web-based Online Help system, what he really meant is Wiki-based Help system. I have TechComm Suite 3.5, which means I've got Frame 10 and RoboHelp 9.
I've found a couple of references to the MediaWiki and its tool to convert RoboHelp 8 topics to wiki format, but there's nothing about RoboHelp 9. Is it still compatible? Why does RoboHelp not have Wiki as a publishing format since some of the most popular applications have moved away from the online help format and into the knowledge-based, wiki format?
So my question is: is there a way to use Frame 10 or RoboHelp 9 to create a wiki-based Help system, or does the MediaWiki tool still work with RoboHelp 9 and does anyone have any experience with it?

    Hi there
If a wiki is what you want, why are you using RoboHelp?
RoboHelp doesn't "do" wiki and anything it creates will most certainly have to be converted. Once converted, RoboHelp wouldn't be able to use it again and you would have to start over.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Getting ÿþ as saved conversations from Lync in Outlook in Office 2013

    Hi,
I've been trying to get to the bottom of this and have found similar posts, but no one seems to have an answer.
When I IM someone using Lync 2013, they get a pop up notification but instead of the message they see ÿþ<.  Once they open the chat window, they can see my typed text.  Occasionally, certain people can't see the first line of my chat, but as
long as they keep the chat window open, they can see everything new I type.
All my conversations that are saved in outlook show ÿþ< for the text and are unreadable.  I've disabled the saving of conversations because they have become worthless.
I believe it has to do with BOM but have not been able to find a way to fix this.
If I copy a conversation from the chat window and paste it into Microsoft Word it shows ÿþ<, but if I paste it into notepad the conversation appears.
(I had inserted a screenshot here, but am unable to because I am unable to figure out how to get my account "verified")
I've tried changing the preferred encoding for outgoing messages: to Unicode (UTF-8) in Outlook, but this had no effect and I can't find a similar option in Lync 2013.
(I had inserted a screenshot here, but am unable to because I am unable to figure out how to get my account "verified")
I enabled logging for Lync and the event IDs that come up are 1, 11 and 12, to which I cannot find any information for at the moment.
Any help and or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Did the issue happen only for you or for multiple users?
Please try to delete Lync User Profile and information on Registry, then repair Office 2013.
The path of Lync User Profile: %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync
The path for information on Registry: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected]
    Then test the issue again.
