How to create a FCPX Project Template so you don't have to wait for titles to render each time?

Hi there
I'm currently creating 3-4 minute video clips that all look pretty much the same, just with different video and audio really.
I have a title at the beginning, video and audio throughout (with a couple of cross dissolve transitions) and 2 titles permanently over the video.
The video changes per video, the audio changes per video, the title at the beginning changes per video, but the two titles over the video do not need to ever change.
Is it possible to create some kind of Project Template where I just replace the video/audio clip and the rest pretty much stays the same?
The problem I'm having is that its taking forever to render the two titles over the video each time.
Is there anyway to get around it having to render the two titles over the video each time as they dont ever change? (Well the length of them does, but not the text itself)

    You need give the exact error message.
    If you get a locked disk message when you try to open iTunes, there are a number of possible causes.
    Here are some things to try:
    Check the permissions on you iTunes folder in music, your account and SYSTEM should have full control.

    If permissions are OK:

    Adobe releases Camera Raw every 3 or 4 months. The D600 itself was launched only about 1 week ago. I'm sure its not included in ACR 7.2 RC yet. Nikon J1 is included though. I guess you're gona have to wait for it. Maybe 7.2 final release will have it or 7.3 should. Adobe employees/ product team will not commit to a time for Camera Raw releases.
    However, you can use the software Nikon would've given you to convert your images as TIFF and import them into Lightroom/ Photoshop if you're in a hurry. It would be nice if your camera supports DNG conversion out of the box! This way, you wont need a Camera Raw from Adobe.

  • Problem while creating a new project template

    I am trying to create a new project template under one operating unit newly created.
    I am using P A Super User responsibility for that operating unit.
    In profile setting the above responsibility has been assigned the new operating unit under Mo operating unit profile.
    Now when I go to Setup>>Projects>>Project Templates and click on New, the form to create new Project template opens up but in the field where I have to select the operating unit, it shows no values in the LOV.
    Can anyone please help me to know what setting do I have to perform so that I can select the operating unit in this new Template creation Form.

    Dear Mr. Govind,
    we have followed all the Project Implementation Setup for the new operating unit except for the Implementation options which we have to fill up for each operating unit.
    In the implementation Options form in the first tab 'System' there are many fields to be filled up.
    For 'Summarization period Type' we choose 'G L Period' and based on this the fields 'Calendar Name' and 'P A Period Type' automatically gets populated.
    But in our case the 'P A Period Type' is not getting populated.
    Can you let me know where we can link the 'P A Period Type' to the chosen 'Calendar name'?
    Also there is a check box - 'Maintain common PA and GL Periods'. If we tick this check box, a message says: 'The Period Type and Calendar of the PA Period does not match the Period type and Calendar of the corresponding GL Period.'
    Can you please let me know where to create the PA Period based on the corresponding GL periods?

    Several times in the last year, I've gotten a message that Time Machine needs to completely redo my backup. Using the wireless connection, this takes almost two days. Is there a way to do the backup with ethernet and then switch back to wireless? Thanks.

    May I know what is needed to make sure the MacBook is able to see Time Capsule on ethernet?
    Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the 2Wire gateway to the WAN port (circle of dots icon) on the Time Capsule.
    If AirPort Utility cannot "see" the Time Capsule now, you will need to perform a "hard reset" by holding in the reset button for 7-8 seconds or so and then reconfigure the Time Capsule. You can use the same Time Capsule name and password, etc. as before.
    Configure the Time Capsule to "Create a wireless network" and select the Bridge Mode option when it appears during the setup using AirPort Utility.
    Once the Time Capsule is configured, restart the entire network again. Power down everything, start the 2Wire first and then start each other device after that one at a time about a minute apart.
    Now you can connect your Mac directly to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule for the backup using another Ethernet cable. In general, about 20-25 GB per hour will transfer.
    The Time Capsule will broadcast a much faster wireless network than the 2Wire can provide, so you might want to leave the setup "as is" for awhile after the first backup is complete. If you decide to use the Time Capsule as your main wireless access point, you would want to turn the wireless off on the 2Wire since two wireless networks in close proximity can create interference problems.
    Or, if you want to use the wireless on the 2Wire, you could turn off the wireless on the Time Capsule. Then backups will occur over the 2Wire wireless, or over Ethernet.
    I don't really recommend the "Join a wireless network" setting on the Time Capsule for most users, but you could go back to that setup as well if you want after the first backup is complete.

    What version of iPhoto are you running?  Where are you seeing this lack of back cover and flap.
    A first try fix is this:  make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
    1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
    2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

    3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
    NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
    If that doesn't help create a new book and see if the back cover and flap are in it.  If so then it appears that your original book is damaged. 
    You can try rebuilding the library by launching iPhoto with the Option and Command keys held down and select the option to Repair the Database, option #3.  If that fails rebuild again with option #4, Rebuild Database.
    If that doesn't help then create a new book, verify that the back cover and flap is there and add the photos.

  • How to create a "Firefighter" type role when we do not have GRC

    I am just looking for advice or input on this situation.
    Currently my company does not have GRC or any other type of software that will allow for automated Firefighter type access and apparently there are no plans in the near future to purchase anything.
    Our current process of creating a very powerful role to sign out to users on a case by case basis for a 24 hour period is not working and is getting out of hand.
    I have been tasked with coming up with a better solution and they want me to build multiple roles for emergency access based on business area. Since there are thousands of transaction codes in SAP I find this to be a rather daunting task. My question is this...would it be a really bad idea to build say a Finance emergency role with F* in s_tcode and full access? I realize that there are more Finance codes that do not start with F but I am really just looking for input.
    Has anyone else faced this situation and how did you approach it?
    If someone out there has done this and could provide me with sample roles, that would be great.
    Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

    There are couple of ways I did it in my previous customers. I am guessing you need these roles during Go-Live and Production Support
    1. Create FF roles by business Process ( OTC, RTR etc) or Module wise. Get hold of the respective Functional people and ask them the nodes in SPRO Tcode what they think should be there for those FF roles. Then create those roles accordingly. Remove the Basis / Security admin tcodes and make 03 where-ever necessary.
    2. Another way of doing it is you might already have global roles for different modules / business processes. So identify the roles that are best suited for the FF roles and during Go-Live/ Prod Support. Group them and may be create composite roles for those Global single roles
    You might need FF roles for Transactional access and Configuration Access.
    Transactional FFID: FFID with change access to business transactions of the stream/function. (Can use the create/change access roles built for end users)
    Configuration FFID: FFID for any manual configu2019s to be performed directly in production and cannot/may not be transported (ex: number ranges)
    There should be process for giving the FF roles and proper approval. Appropriate role owners should be identified for these roles who will give approval

    Do you have to wait for FCPX to Render 100% before sending to Compresssor?
    I don't quite understand how the process works. Is FCPX rendering the footage for me to see in the viewer or is it rendering the final output as well? I had always assumed compressor did the final rendering.

    Your timeline needs to be rendered prior to compressor being able to encode your vision.
    There are two processes here
    1. Rendering, creating an effect, movement or some other piece of vision that requires rendering to provide playback at 100% of the project/time line specifications.
    2. Encoding, converting your project/timeline from the editing codec, to a format suitable for delivery, eg, ProRes 422, to a web/DVD/iPhone friendly codec, eg h.264, mpg2 etc.

  • How To Fix: "The iTunes Library.itl file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file."

    I can't reopen my iTunes after I have to force quit when it does not respond. I get this message:
    "The iTunes Library.itl file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file."
    I've read to do the solutions. I right clicked on both the iTunes and Music folder and went to info for each. On both the lock at the bottom of the Get Info was locked. All of my users including admin can read and write all files within those folders. They are even a shared folder. I clicked on the lock to unlock it, typed in my admin password, and went to the gear to apply to all files inside. After doing that I keep getting the saved message.
    I tried another way that I've found online to move my ituneslibrary folder to the desktop and then open my iTunes. In theory the iTunes is supposed to ask for where the iTunes library is. Once that is prompted you quit iTunes and drag the iTunes Library folder back to the folder from the desktop and reopen iTunes to apprently solve the problem. However, when I move the iTunes Library file to the desktop and try to reopne iTunes the icon just keeps bouncing and when I right click the application does not respond.
    This problem is only resolved if I restart/shut down my macbook pro which is a 15-inch Core 2 Duo with intel. It will be 5 years old in December. I currently have Lion and the latest iTunes 10.5. This problem started in late December. 

    If you hold down the option key when starting iTunes, it will allow you to select a library or create a new one.
    You can create a new one, and then add all of your iTunes music back in by simply dragging the old iTunes music file onto iTunes.

    Which template did you use for the parent site?
    Please check whether the site collection administrator could create a subsite.
    Please grant permissions on the Device Channels list
    http://sitecollection_URL/DeviceChannels/AllItems.aspx -> List -> List Settings -> Permissions for this list -> granted Read rights for the Everyone group, compare the result as
    it.
    Please navigated to the hidden list "TaxonomyHiddenList" on the site collection i.e.
    http://somdnetsp/lists/TaxonomyHiddenList/AllItems.aspx and check permissions on this list. Check whether the list has unique permissions and there were no users added to the list. If yes,
    add "authenticated users" in the list permissions.
    Then, try to create sub site, compare the result.
    If this issue still exists, please check the log file to find whether there are some message about this issue.
