  • How to create an OWB Repository in a database

    By default a database will have a repository installed into it. One has to create a workspace using Repository assistant within the repository.
    database> repository> workspace
    Question:
    1. How can I create a new repository [either in same or a new database]?
    2. Can one database have multiple repositories or is it limited to only 1?
    Thanks!

    >
    Also, on 10g, how do I go about creating a repository.
    Please note I'm aware of using Repository assistant to:
    create workspaces on 11g and
    create repository owners on 10g [we create owners and not workspaces on 10g]
    In both the cases where do I define a specific repository, where do I give the name of repository etc.
    In 10g ,OWB Owner is nothing but the schema which holds OWB repository
    If you are creating a new OWB Owner that means it is a new repository.
    If you are creating/registering a new OWB user when you can choose an existing OWB repository/owner to which the new user will be associated with.
    Thanks,

  • How to create a new repository in EP 6

    I was wondering how to create a new repository in EP 6 SP2 CM.  I am farmiliar with using repository managers, but I just want to create a new repository similar to the dfaul repositories that are provided by sap, such as "discussions or documents".  The reason is that I want to be able to report "only on the size of this repository"
    Thanks
    Jeremy

    Jeremy -
    You can create a CM repository using the following path:
    System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Configuration -> Content Management -> Repository Managers -> CM Repository
    Click on the New button.
    Enjoy!

  • How to create a CM repository?

    Would you please direct me to some blogs? Thanks!

    If you need to create a CM repository with persistence mode DB, navigate to System Admin->System Config->Knowledge Mgmt->Content Mgmt->Repository Managers->CM Repository.
    But before creating a new CM repository, you need to configure memory cache, the link for which is
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/62/468698a8e611d5993600508b6b8b11/frameset.htm]
    Once your memory cache is set up, you may create a new repository with persistence mode DB. For the explaination on the various parameters of the CM Repository, please refer to this link
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/62/468698a8e611d5993600508b6b8b11/frameset.htm]
    If you want to create a CM repository with persistence mode DB, the simplest way is to duplicate the documents repository

  • How to create a resource repository in OSB  ?

    Hi all,
    I am using a set of xsds which needs to be used across projects, instead of copying all the xsds into each project I need to create a repository, which my projects will refer.
    1) Is it possible to create such repository in OSB ?
    2) If so will OSB automatically find the dependncies ?(like warn me if I remove an element used by some other project )
    Thank You

    Hi Arun,
    1) Is it possible to create such repository in OSB ?You may create a separate OSB project for the same, inside same configuration project where you want to use the resources.
    2) If so will OSB automatically find the dependncies ?(like warn me if I remove an element used by some other project )Yes. If any XSD is in use, then OSB will warn you before deleting that.

  • How to deploy and run of a mapping created in owb in developer suite

    Hello, could you please help me to check where is wrong?
    I use WAREHOUSE BUILDER of ORACLE 9I DEVELOPER SUITE and I do it as below:
    1, create a OWB REPOSITORY named "OWB" with WAREHOUSE REPOSITORY Assistant in the SUITE ;
    2, create a OWB Runtime REPOSITORY named "OWB1" with WAREHOUSE Runtime Assistant in the SUITE;
    (i wonder why not to ask me to create a connected user and target schema like in OWB product alone?)
    3, open OWB CLIENT and create a new project named TESTPROJECT;
    4, create a source module and a target module.
    5, create a simple mapping, which is the field link between two tables which
    have the same structure(i swear that any vertified error will not occur).
    6, select this mapping and choose Generate in the menu of "module". Then select
    "Generate Script" in the window of Generation mode, Then select Deploy in
    the window of RESULT Generation Window after altering the tab of Mapping, and fill in the user information
    which is the same as OWB Runtime Assistant. After select Creation button in the
    window of data-base deploy, it shows the error that "table or view do not
    exist".
    I don't know where is wrong or this error means? And how to solve it?
    Is there anybody help me?
    and what the diffence on earth between the OWB in the DEVELOPER SUITE and the one as a single product?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    could you please help me to check where is wrong?

  • Cannot Create OWB Repository Owner

    Hello All,
    On windows XP pro, 32 bit, the following tasks were completed (clean system, 1.5 gig ram and dual core)
    - Installed 9.2.0.1 Server
    - Installed 9.2.0.6 Patch
    - Installed Oracle Worflow + and created workflow user
    - Installed OWB_10.2.0.1.win.zip
    All seemed to be fine until attempting to create the OWB repository owner using the Repository Assistant
    Problem 1)
    The Repository Assistant froze after being given the user details for the repository owner.
    I found a fix (read Hack) for this that I am including FYI. The issue relates to the view dba_kgllock which was force created against objects that do not exist. To solve this I used TOAD to find the script used to create the view, deleted the view and created an empty table with the same columns.
    This is a complete hackbut allowed OWB Repository Assistant. All then continued and was looking good until about 60% complete.
    Problem 2)
    At approx 60% installation fails with a socket read fail within java.
    Thats it, I've stopped dead now, going to continue installation attempts in the morning. If anybody out there can help I would be very greatful.

    This appears to be a locking issue and looking at our Support database it is resolved in 10gR1 and 10gR2 versions of the database but remains on 9i although a warning dialog should be shown. Even so the installation should continue and should be successful.
    Do you have AQ running? This sometimes causes this error to occur. I think in the 10gR1 documentation this locking issue was documented and it was supposed to be added to the 10gR2 doc (I need to check to this).
    To figure the lock from Repo Asst code, use the following:
    select distinct
    s.sid,
    s.serial#,
    s.username,
    x.kglnaobj as objectname
    from
    dba_kgllock l,
    v$session s,
    x$kgllk x
    where
    l.kgllktype = 'Pin' and
    s.saddr = l.kgllkuse and
    s.saddr = x.kgllkuse and
    x.kglnaobj like '%DBMS_LOCK%';
    If this returns rows, display the warning with a suggestion to connect to SQLPlus and issue the following statement (where SID, Serial are what came back from the query)
    ALTER SYSTEM KILL SESSION 'SID, Serial';
    e.g.
    ALTER SYSTEM KILL SESSION '13, 8'
    That might solve the problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • OWB repository management

    OWB repository change management
    I had created a OWB repository, owb_test, to develop & test modules defined for our warehouse. Hence, in owb_test may contain different types of modules where some of them are defined for testing purpose.
    Do you recommend another OWB repository, eg owb_prod to keep those modules that actually being deployed to our warehouse production enviornment? Or should it be better to remain as one repository i.e owb_test, housekeep and change the module status from Development to Production?
    Can anyone share with me on how you manage the OWB rep change control? Thanks

    It depends on how strict you would like to do version control... but the most strict way to do it would be to create several repositories (or multiple projects in the same repository) and maintain version control and propagating changes through MDL export and import (in that respect, multiple repositories is easier to manage).
    If you are less strict about version control or your environment is less complex, you can probably get away creating multiple projects (one for each environment) and copy/paste objects from dev to test, to QA, to prod. This scenario would also work if you create multiple modules (instead of multiple projects).
    Hope this helps,
    Mark.

  • Installation of OWB Repository hungs after 88%

    Hello,
    I am trying to create an OWB Repository via the repository assistant with OWB 10g R2 (latest version). The database is an Oracle 10.2.0.2 on Windows Server 2003.
    It works well until 88% where the screen just disappear. In the log file I do not see any error. It stops a few line after having called the script ../../rtasst/wb_rt_seed_service_nodes.sql.
    Does anyone had the same problem?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Dominique Wiesmann

    Thank you for the advice. I knew about the nls_territory setting problem and therefore set it to America right from the beginning. So it must be something else, but no idea what. I will open a tar. Do you still have the problem ? If you find the solution, thank you for telling me.
    Best regards, Dominique

  • Help! how to create a repository correctly of owb?

    I have installed oracle11 in the directory c:\app\***\product\11.1.0\db_1 and installed owb in the directory c:\app\***\product\11.1.0\owb11gr1. When i tried to Create a Repository Using the Repository Assistant, the system gives out an error message:OWBSYS is not granted access to owb home/owb/bin/admin/rtrepos.properties:Please run UnifiedRepos/reset_owbcc_home.sql specifiying the path of the Oracle Home from which the Control Center Service is being run.
    Then I run the script reset_owbcc_home.sql and put in "C:/app/***/product/11.1.0/owb11gr1" according to the prompt.
    But it still can not work, it gives out another error,"there is no table or views"
    Can anyone tell me how to create a repository correctly?
    Thanks!

    With your database 11g install OWB is already installed under the ORACLE_HOME's owb directory. You should/could have just used it.
    I'd suggest a cleanout and start again, here are the steps:
    1. Close any open OWB
    2. from db home,
    Stop runtime service - cd owb/rtp/sql sqlplus OWBSYS/OWBSYS @stop_service
    3. drop your target user, design user
    4. cleanout OWBSYS, recreate:
    cd owb/UnifiedRepos
    sqlplus using your sysdba
    @clean_owbsys
    @cat_owb <tablespace_of_your_choice)
    Now run reposinst.bat from your database Oracle home
    Cheers

  • How to create repository using a view in OBIEE

    Hi,
    Can any one explain the procedure how to create a repository using a view. For example
    test_v
    select a.col1,a.col2,b.col1,b.col4,c.col5,c.col6 from table a,table b, table c where a.col1= b.col1 and b.col1 = c.col1
    1. Assuming that i have imported only one view.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Hanuman.

    Hi,
    You can create the vie in the physical layer of your repository, select "Select" from the dropdwan box when you create a new table. Next add the columns. They must have the same names as in your view.
    If you don't have any other tables in your repository, created an alias of your view and make a "dummy" join with the original view. Next create your BM and PL.
    regards
    John

    Sumit,
    Are you referring to the subscription feature for KM.
    You should have a mail transport created for this purpose.
    Also have mailing, notification active and channel originators set up.
    Pls try this link.
