Hello,
I am new to Flash. I am using Flash CS3.
I'd like to create a movie element. How can I create a little
movie that disappears when you rollover. When it disappears, the
rest of my flash movie shows...
Thanks in advance for any help. I know this is osmething easy
but the tutorials confused me. Thank you

it on the first frame, and on the over frame, the main
movie...

  • How to create a rollover button effect in Captivate 7?

    Hi,
    I recently upgraded from Captivate 6 to Captivate 7 and am curious to know how I can create a rollover state for a SmartShape button. Basically, let's say I have a SmartShape being used as a button. What I want is to have the button have a glow effect and a shadow effect each time the mouse is hovered over it. Is there an easier way than having two objects on the slide -- one as the normal state and one the mouse hoever image. What I'm thinking is that the mouse hovered state image will have it's 'Visible in Output' set as unchecked and I can use an Advanced Action to show the object on mouse hover. Perhaps I can have the mouse hovered state image as a rollover SmartShape too?
    Nonetheless, this looks like too much work. If I have 10 clickables on the page for which I want rollover effects, I would need to have 10 additional objects with their rollover states -- just seems like too much, but perhaps that's the Captivate way. Or I am I missing the obvious?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Most people would say the easiest way to achieve what you are talking about would be to just create your own custom image button in a graphics editor and give the Over state image having the glow effect that you want.
    If you decide to go that route, this tutorial describes the process of creating an image button:

    Another possibility is that you can use the Infosemantics Event Handler widget to trigger an Apply Effect action and use the Glow filter as the effect. 
    However, this may require some tweaking since it's not that easy to time effects that are applied via an advanced action.

    I'm interested in learning how to create a "3d" object that a user can interact with using their mouse. I've taken 60+ pictures of a camera rotating by 5 degree increments and I'm trying to put together something similar to what Verizon has on their website for phones -  Where your mouse rolls over an object and rotates it.
    I've seen this done with Java as well, but I'm interested in how flash does it. Can someone help point me in the right direction on where to start please?

    I am sure it is not the best way to do it since I don't have coding skills. I would create multiple narrow buttons that have a rollover to call up the desired image.

    I want to create a background image with a button in the middle. I only want the button to act like a rollover. But when I create it in Fireworks only the slice is exported, not the rest of the image.

    A rollover consists of at least two images, some JavaScript code that recognizes when the mouse is over the image and swaps it for another, and the HTML to contain it all. Images are simple data files, they are not active code and they cannot contain links or rollovers, or anything like that.
    You need to export your background image separately from your button. Next, you need to export your button states. Then, you need to create a Web page where you set your background image as the background for an HTML element (maybe a div, maybe a table cell) and you place your button rollover inside the HTML element. (Dreamweaver would be really good for this.)
    You can't do it with just a single image.

    I'm a non-coder I'm using Dreamweaver CS4 to create a personal website.  I know next to nothing about CSS, but I think I understand how to create a style and apply it to elements. 
    My website has several image galleries, and what I'd like to be able to do is create a rollover text box of some kind that floats up in a fixed position when mouseover on an image.  What I'm looking to do is basically what this website does on their top header image:

    I've experimented some with spry tooltips but I want the text box to be in the same position and not wherever the mouse is pointing at the time.  I have done hours of searching and I cannot come up with a solution to this (at least not one that I understand) and it's quite possible that I don't even know the terms to search for. 
    What tools or terms am I describing here?  What should I be searching for? 
    Can anyone point me to a good tutorial to do what I'm asking?  Please give me the dummy version!

    im trying to create a dropdown menu buttons that when you rollover to the top central button the button it opens up like a drop down menu would containg two other subsectional buttons. This makes the sub sectional buttons seperate from the main stage making it difficult to simply give them a on click,  sym.play("label") function.

  • How to get a rollover in 1 spot to show in another?

    Hello guys, I haven't used dreamweaver since 2001 and even back then I wasn't that great at it.
    I used joomla to build my church webiste, but I had a photoshop person make a index page for me and the concept it because the church has 3 locations, at the bottom you have the "Visit" link and what I would like to do is when you hover over to press visit, in the middle of the page the church image will show up and i'm not sure how to do that in dreamweaver.
    I'm using DW CS6
    Under each church address I'm going to add a jpg there with the word "Visit" and when the member hover over the word. where it has 1, 2 and 3 depending on which visit button the member press the church image will show on top.
    Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

    the type  looks like Times New Roman Font.  If you just follow the tutorial listed below, it lays out nicely. you would just want to omit the gradient and some effects that they do in the tutorial, to match the one you want above. it is going to involve both Dreamweaver and Photoshop.

    Sounds like you may be expecting Captivate to work
    identically to Flash. Sorry my friend, it doesn't work this way.
    For starters, notice that Captivate uses slides.
    Each slide has its own timeline. So what you see in the timeline
    area is not for the whole movie.
    As you add objects (Buttons, Click Boxes, Images, Rollover
    Areas, Etc.) the object is placed on the timeline and assumes what
    you are referring to as a layer. You then control which object is
    in front of another object by its relative position in the layer.
    This is called the "Stacking Order".

    effects without any problem. This time I'm using FW8 to create the
