How to create a workgroup (following Felix instruction on printer sharing)

I have an IMAC G5 running OS X 10.3.9 and a Dell Dimension L500CX Windows running XP Pro SP2 PC. The XP PC has a slave Epson Stylus Photo R300 printer. Am trying to follow the Felix (efelix.co.uk/tech/3004.html) intructions for the IMAC to print on the PC's printer. The printer works fine as a slave to each PC. Both computers get their internet access via a Netgear MR814v3 router with the PC wired to the router and the IMAC using the Airport card to connect wireless. In following the Felix instructions, I get to the part in printer list where it displays the workgroup. The instruction says I should find the PC in the workgroup but all I see is the IMAC. So I guess I need to know how to add the PC to the workgroup, or maybe there is something else I need to do? But I don't know how to get the PC into the workgroup so I can proceed to the next step. Thanks.

The Time Capsule disk is really for Time Machine backups and you should normally not store other files there.
If you have plenty of space on the drive,  you may be OK for awhile. But eventually, there will be a struggle for space on the drive and Time Machine may not operate reliably when space gets tight.
Open Macintosh HD
Look for your Time Capsule icon under the SHARED heading on the left of the window
Click on the Time Capsule icon and a folder representing the drive will appear to the right
Double click the folder to mount the disk on your desktop
Click the gear icon at the top of the window
Click New Folder, rename the folder as needed
You can drag/drop or copy/paste files to this folder

    I am trying to create a little axis representation on the bottom of the canvas that would be fixed in position relative to the camera and the axis. (i.e. if camera moves or rotate, the axis representation will stay at the same place and rotate accordingly). What is the best way to do this ? Do I extend the Camera/Mouse class and tell it to update the transform group of the axis shapes whenever it moves ? Does anyone have a example of how they did it ?

    To get something that resembles a straight pill (or a capsule) as the one you describe, you may:
    1) Create the outer rounded shape and split it into two: one on top with the stroke, one below with the solid fill corresponding to the colour adjacent to the stroke;
    2) Select the filled path and Object>Path>Offset Path, using a negative value that is half the width less a suitable small amount (1pt or something);
    3) Change the fill of the small inner path to a paler grey or white;
    4) Select both the filled paths and Object>Blend>Make (with Smooth or a suitable number of steps in the Object>Blend Options).
    To easily get something that is more like a round pill, you may apply horizontal gradients to the paths in the blend, along with a suitable number of steps.
    With a new version, you may also use the new 3D features.

    i have an iMac.  my kids each have their own iMac.  my wife has a PC.  all three of their devices can "see" my shared iTunes library on their computer.  all three of those devices can play my shared iTunes library on their computer.  BUT, those other three devices cannot use the songs in my iTunes library to create their own playlists and they also can't drag playlists on my computer into their playlists.
    we all share one iTunes account, so i want them to be able to do more than simply play the songs from my iTunes library on their computers;  i want them to be able to put their purchases on their iPhones, iPods, etc.
    help appreciated in advance.

    Without modifying the Table Interface I solved my problem.
    Earlier I mentioned that the exceptions were not highlighting when created in BEx. the reason is I gave negative %  range -10 to -1000.
    But when I changed that range as -1000 to -10, It worked fine. I created the same exceptions for all the 7 queries in BEx. So all those execeptions are automatically highlighted the result in Portal.

    Please follow following process
    1) Go to T-code - SPAD -> Full Administration -> Click on Device Type -> Double click the device for which you wish to create the print control -> Click on Print Control tab ->Click on change mode -> Click the plus sign to add a row or prefix say SBP99 (Prefix must start with SBP) -> save you changes , it will ask for request -> create  request and save
    2) Now when you go to SE73 if you enter SBP00 for you device it will add the newly created Prefix

  • Followed the instructions in "the bookmarks and history..." article but cannot retrieve my bookmarks. Initial problem was caused by an AVG Free upgrade which was done this morning. How do I get my "stuff" back?

    Upgraded AVG Free this morning. Next Firefox opening got the message "bookmarks and history system will not be functional" etc.
    Followed the instructions in the article but no recovery occurred. Then spent 45 minutes on the phone with AVG, ending with them suggesting I re-install Firefox which I did (probably not wise). Still can't get back to where I was yesterday when I was a happy camper. How can I do that?

    No, AVG did not remove places.sqlite from the profile. In following the instructions given by Firefox I renamed that file by adding .old. The instructions then told me to re-open Firefox, and that when it reopened "it would create a new places database. Your browsing history will be lost but Firefox will automatically import your bookmarks from the most recent backup file." This DID NOT happen. I have not yet tried the steps in the "Lost Bookmarks" article.
    Yes, the folder "bookmarkbackups" is still in the profile folder, and time-wise it predates me renaming the places file.
    I do not know whether it is possible to set AVG to ignore certain directions?

    Using action is correct approach. You just have to configure action properly. For follow-up use in action 'method call' and use method 'copy_document' and as parameter specify transaction type that you want to be created as follow-up.
    For mail, you can use in action trigger_alert method.

    Here's an interesting bit: iTunes will let me restore my iPod touch from backup: it's still running iOS 4.3.3. I figured as much... there's backups showing in the Preferences -> Devices list for both devices (and even my old, long gone iPod touch 2G), but my iPhone (on iOS5) isn't giving me any such option. I remember I had to downgrade before to get the backup restored (something went haywire in the setup assistant, and I couldn't restore a backup from iTunes there)... If it was possible to go to iOS 5.0 rather than 5.0.1 I would just do the same thing again, but iOS 5.0.1 isn't an option. I attached a screenshot. Hopefully Apple can get this nonsense sorted out; I think iOS 5 might be the root of this, somehow.

    Short answer:
    Click Hide Song(s), it is what you wanted to do...
    Long answer:
    iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
    If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
    Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
    To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
