How to create an iveiw out of an portal application

hi
1. Please help me in creating an iView out of an portal application.
2. How you can view the created iView and how do you provide access to iView
    to particular users.
Thanks in Advance
Subramanya

Hi subramanya,
<i>Thanks for your help. I was albe to create iview and assign roles to it.</i>
You are welcome!!
<i>End user perspective what is use of having iView in the Portal.</i>
Can you explain in detail what you want to know. I couldn't get you.
<i>What i mean to say is if a user logs on to the portal can he able to see the IView
that i have created ? How to make iView available to the end user.</i>
See if you have made a role from the iView, and assigned that role to a user, then that user will be able to see the iView when he logins into the portal. Just like you have Content Administration, System Administration, and User Administration tabs (which are actually roles), he will get a tab of the role which you assigned to him. It would be better if you create a dummy user, and try assigning different roles to it. You can then come to how exactly it works.
If you still face any problem, you can let me know.
In this thread of yours, wherever i have answered to you, on the left panel, you will see three radio buttons, namely Solved Problem, Very Helpful Answer, and Helpful Answer. You can select any one, depending on how much the answer helped you.
See the following link:
<a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/crphelp#posted">How do I reward points?</a>
Have a look at the table, the type of points you can give, and also the number of 10s, 6s, and 2s you can give. Also note that giving a 10 would mark the thread as answered, and you can give it only once.
Bye

  • How to create an External Alias for a Portal URL ?

    Hi Gurus,
Can anybody tell me how to create an external alias for a portal link(URL). Actually, my problem is i want to send this Portal URL(link) thru' a SendMail step to the user so that when he clicks on it, it will take him to his UWL(Ofcourse after signing-in). As this URL length is > 80 char(101 char), i am not getting the full lenght URL in my Outlook mail. THough we are on ECC 6.0,Basis Rel 7.0, as per the OSS note 559234, we should have this length extended to 132 bytes. But, for some reason, its not happening. And,in the same OSS note, it was mentioned that we can use external aliases to achieve this(shortening the URL length).
Can anybody tell me how to achieve this, either thru' increasing the URL length or thru' ext. aliases.
    Please reply asap.
    Thanks in advance

Not an issue as of now. I'll open up again if needed

  • How to create the digital clock in java swing application ?

I want to create the running digital clock in my java swing application. Can someone throw some light on this how to do this ? Or If someone has done it then can someone pl. paste the code ?
    Thanks.

    hi prah_Rich,
I have created a digital clock you can use. You will most likely have to change some things to use it in another app although that shouldn't be too hard. A least it can give you some ideas on how to create one of your own. There are three classes. One that creates the numbers. a gui class and frame class.
    cheers:)

  • How to create a .exe file for a java application

Hi, I want to create a .exe file for a java application I am developing so that I can schedule it to run at a particular time using Windows Scheduler on WinNT. Is there any way to accomplish this? Or is there any other way in which a Java application can be scheduled to run at a particular time on Windows everyday?

Create a .bat file and run that. Just have, in the .bat file:
java YourClassName Alternatively, you can use javaw YourClassName (without *.bat, just put it into Windows Scheduler like suggested above).
using javaw won't pop up any window...

There are free programs for sure that create exe from jar. Unfortunately I forgot the names. Google it. And you can just add some crap (forgot which) in manifest file that will make jar itself executable

I configured the activedirectory and able to see the users and group in the weblogic console at Security->Realms->Myrealm->users. when I run my portal application,I am able to see only the users that are configured in embedded weblogic LDAP ie, I can see only the users weblogic, portaladmin and yahooadmin that are of defaultauthenticator provider.I need to display the active directory users also in our portal.
I have two doubts on this?
1)Is it I need to write custom code to view the active directory users in our portal?
2)Does I need to use any jars that supports active directory authenticator?
I would appreciate if any one can reply on this with helpfull docs/information.
We are using BEA 8.1 SP4.
    Windows 2000.

  • Problem in creating a build.xml for weblogic portal application

    Team ,
I am facing problem in creating the build.xml using weblogic.BuildXMLGEN tool .
    a) Below is the structure of my portal application
    SrcCode
    --- .metadata (eclipse plugins folder)
    --- B2BApp ( Ear Content)
    --- b2bPortal ( portal related file(controllers,jsp)
    --- b2bsrc     (java src)
    b) Now I executed below utility to generate the build.xml "
    java weblogic.BuildXMLGen -projectName B2BApp -username weblogic -file build.xml -password welcome1 F:\srcCode"
    c) Based on the above step , build.xml got generated .
    d) when I execute "ant compile" target from the command prompt , I see the below exception
    ant compile
    Buildfile: build.xml
    compile:
+[wlcompile] [JAM] Warning: failed to resolve class AbstractJspBacking+
+[wlcompile] [JAM] Error: unexpected exception thrown:+
    +[wlcompile] com.bea.util.jam.internal.javadoc.JavadocParsingException: Parsing failure in F:\b2bNew\b2bPortal\src\portlets\b2b\dmr\Picker\PickerController.java at line 58.+
    e) I suspect , the problem is bcoz of classpath issues , as I generated build.xml donot have the references to dependent lib's.As build.xml looks like below :
    +<target name="compile" description="Only compiles B2BApp application, no appc">+
    +<wlcompile srcdir="${src.dir}" destdir="${dest.dir}">+
+<!-- These referenced libraries were not found -->+
    +<!-- <library file="p13n-core-web-lib" /> -->+
    +<!-- <library file="jersey-web-lib" /> -->+
    +.....+
    +....+
Please help me to reslove these issues .
PS: I able to deploy the application using 10.3.2 weblogic workshop ( i.e inbuilt eclipse )

    i JaySen ,
thanks for your response. As mentioned we added all the necessary library within the -librarydir but still we see the same error :
    +[JAM] Error: unexpected exception thrown:+
com.bea.util.jam.internal.javadoc.JavadocParsingException: Parsing failure in F:\b2bNew\b2bPortal\src\portlets\typeAhead\TypeAheadController.java at line 70.  Most likely, an annotation is declared whose type has not been imported.

    ===================
    a) this is a upgrade project [ upgrading from wlp 8.1.4 to 10.3.2 ]
i.e we are using weblogic portal 10.3.2 version.
    b) Searched some sites/forums regarding the above error, and it says something related to "jwsc" ant task [ i.e while compiling a webservice(JWS) ], but we see this error while compiling a normal controller(jpf) class :(
    c) we are using "ant compile" target which internally calls wlcompile task , while executing wlcompile this error is thrown .
    Help Appreciated
    Thx,

  • How to create a check-out form

    Hi there,
I'm really hoping someone out there can give me some advice!! I'm building my site in Muse and have Business Catalyst ecommerce.
My products are essentially quite simple, but each product has variables like size, colour, etc. I am wanting to create a 'form' with drop-down menus available for the customers to choose their products.
Rather than having an ecommerce widget linking to a third party site like shopify, I am more than happy for the next window when they 'submit' that form, to be a page where they can enter their credit card details, which we will then manually process on our eftpos machine.
How do I build this?! What is it called? When I do searches on forms and drop down menus and ecommerce widgets etc, I am never lead to the type of 'form' I want to build I'm not sure if it's considered a form! I feel like it should be such a simple process but I am having no luck.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light!
    Celia
PS I am also using MuseCS6 rather than CC as the server I am on is 32bit. Hopefully this doesn't hinder anything.

Have you heard about GUMROAD ?
    Have you already tried that?
    How about  ECWID?

  • How to create separate articles out of one InDesign document?

I have a pre-created InDesign 5 document that is about 50 pages. There are different articles within these pages, and there are different sections created for the page numbers. When I add to the folio, it appears to be adding the entire document as one article, not separate articles. How do I tell it to make some articles flow vertically, and others as new sections/articles horizontally?
I'm a bit of a newbie, so appreciate any help here. I hope I don't have to split the document up in order to add them to the folio separately!
    Thanks!

With InDesign CS5 and CS5.5, you have to split up the documents. To avoid frustration, you're going to want to watch a few videos or get a little training before diving in. See this getting started topic:
