How to create Background job for Dialog program

Hi Experts,
I have copied Standard tcode to Z-tcode (CS12 tcode).
Now my requirement is to create background job for this program (but program is not a 'E' type its 'I').
How we can schedule Dialog program to Background.
Pls suggest me.

can u give me step wise procedure to create jobs for a program with a variant name thru ABAP???
Also, can a transaction can be scheduled as a job to run in background with a variant name???

Hi,
To create a job through ABAP program you can do the following.
Go to Menu bar.
In there, go to SYTSTEM> SERVICES> JOBS--> DEFINE JOB.
Then give the JOB NAME and CLASS in the screen that comes up.
This is how we schedule a program.
Now, to create a variant for a program -
First activate your program in SE38. Then execute it .
Now, click on SAVE button. It will open up the variant creation screen. Give the details there like variant name and value for the fields. Save and come back.

Just though of sharing the alternate way to do this work, instead of DELETE use CHANGE option.
1. Execute transaction SM37 for the program "RMMRP000" and Job name what you have specified with job status "Scheduled" check box activated. Job Overivew screen appears
2. Now select the job in the Job Overivew screen and use Menu bar: Job--->Change or Ctrl+F11. Change Job Screen appears
3. In the change Job screen Hit the function button Start Condition (Green Flag). Start time screen appears.
4. In the Start time screen define your Job schedule and save the time parameters and save change job screen. Now your job is scheduled with new parameters what you have entered.

Program works but background job for that program fails....

I have a requirement where I have to collect the details of the purchase order and put the details in XML file format and FTP the XML file to an external third party FTP Server.
To realize this I developed a report program which follows following logic.
1)     First I collected the PO details by calling the BAPI BAPI_PO_GETDETAIL1.
2)     Then using the following link "/people/r.eijpe/blog/2005/11/10/xml-dom-processing-in-abap-part-i--convert-an-abap-table-into-xml-file-using-sap-dom-approach
I converted these PO details to the XML file format that the third party people accept.
       In the code I used u201CCALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_downloadu201D and in this process first the XML file is generated and is getting stored on my deskytop.
3)     Then I called HTTP_SCRAMBLE, FTP_CONNECT, FTP_COMMAND , FTP_DISCONNECT and RFC_CONNECTION_CLOSE.
This works perfectly well and each time I execute the report the file is getting FTPu2019ed to the third party FTP server.
Now I tried to schedule a batch job for this and the batch job fails with follwing errors

I have a process chain that gets a trigger (.txt Trigger file) in AL11 inbound foulder.....
we will check for the same trigger in AL11...if it is available..we will trigger the chain using sm64 ...
now, i want to create a job for the same and schedule it automatically everyday.....

Dear Sam2027,
you can set a "recurrence" within the schedule options where you can decide not only the day but also the time.
The recurrence can also be use in conjunction with your trigger .txt (which I believe it's a file event): in this case both of them need to be satisfied in order for your schedule to run.

Problems creating background job for program (job open, submit and close)

Hi gurus,
im trying to start a background job using the FM BP_START_DATE_EDITOR to show the start date to the job or if it's imediate. this FM it's working fine, after call it im opening a job, submiting it and call the job close FM and the job close FM creates me the job.
The problem it's when i go to the sm37 to see the job status the job has been canceled, and the job log says that i have to give a start date to the job.
What i dont understand it's either the job is imediate or i choose a date to start the job always gives me this error...

Just enter all the details in QI06. like:
Complete list of Materials in Material field +plant+ vendor. ( if you have one plant then its ok and if you have same material with different plant and vendor combination then better to set variants plant wise)
ENter rlease until, model inspection type ( if you have any )
Now. goto Program and there is an option for EXECUTE in BCKGRND. clcik on it .
Provide background job name and time for its job start and period ( If you want periodic job like monthly, weekly or daily etc.)
then execute it.
and monitor the job via SM37.

We are creating spool requests (status 'to be processed') for specific printers that are located in different time zones. We want to schedule print jobs by printer to make sure the prints come out at a time the user specifies to us. I am looking for a program with the possibility to make variants by printer that I can include in a job to be created via SM36.Looking forward to your suggestions!

How to create a logo for a program?

I want to create a logo panel that loads up initially when the program starts.(similiar to IE or netscape or any software). Then goes into the program. How would you go about doing so? I have try to create a frame and turning off the resize feature, center the frame on to the screen. But having problems with removing the title bar, is there any formal way of doing so? thanks

It's called a 'splash screen'. You might do a search for it.
A JFrame without any decorations is a JWindow.

This program is already moved to Production.
But while creating variant it's not allowing, since the program doesn't have the selection screen.
Is there anyway where I can create a variant in production without selection screen directly as the program code is already moved to production.

How to create a tcode for a program in FMEQ transaction

Hi ABAP Experts,
I need to assign a program from FMEQ transaction to a custom z-transaction code. Can anybody tell me
how to do this. I already tried go to system-status-> "copy program name from here and past it in SE93).
This would not work because each time when you made changes to a program in FMEQ and generate it
system will generate new program name.

Enter transaction code name & description
and choose option "Transaction with parameters (parameter transaction)" and press on "Continue" button.
Enter Transaction = START_REPORT and select all check-boxes in GUI support tab and enter below values in

Unable to create Background job

I am trying to create a background job for standard program RFBIBL00 from a client QP1-231. But I am not able to do it as I am getting a message that the client differs from the original client qp1-020.
I AM ABLE TO CREATE THE BACKGROUND JOB FROM QP1-020,but not from QP1-231.
Please look into the matter and let me know why I am not able to creat the job from QP1-231.

Otherwise i will use 'JOB_OPEN' but i like POO
