How to create bullet points in BoilerPlate 'Text' item...

Hi,
I have a requirement of generating a form. In that form there is a static section which contains bullet points. Is there a way to create bullet point in oracle reports.
I am using paper layout. As output is required in PDF format.
Thanks

Hi Arshad
You may try this trick to introduce bullet character in Reports on Windows platform:
For Boilerplates:
In Application such as Wordpad, hold Alt and press 0149 on numeric pad. This will insert a bullet mark in the editor. Copy this text and paste it in Reports Paper Layout.
For Fields:
Create a formula column (Character type) in the same group as the column that you need to bullet. Return the following result:
return ' ' || :<your_column>;
All the values based on this Formula column will display a Bullet mark.
Hope this helps.
p.s. character 149 is bullet character in most fonts.

Sripathy

    when a bullet point is long and does not fit in one line it apears in the next line unaligned.

    Hi Elaine,
    Yes, the only way I have discovered so far is using HTML and force it on stage based on my text width size, otherwise bullet list won't be align vertically. This is how currently I do it:
    sym.$("text1").html("<br>● Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit<br>&#160;&#160;&#160;Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit <br>● Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit")
    Thank you for your help in advance.

  • How to do bullet points?

    Hi...i have read the keynote manual but i am not sure how to have bullet points in the middle of a slide as opposed to always being on the left hand side of the slide. Can anyone please help. I've tried inspector and the help guides but im not getting anywhere. If anyone could help i would be extremely grateful
    Thanks
    Rob

    What you want to do is just make the edge of the text box be in the center of the slide. This will be easier if you turn on guides for the edges of objects - to go your preferences, rulers preferences, and check "show guides at object edges".
    Now take your text box and just resize it so that the bullets are where you want them to be. You may need to set them to no indent (using the inspector) in order for the object edge guides to be helpful - when the edge of the object is in the middle of the slide, you should see a yellow vertical line that cuts through the entire slide to indicate this.

  • How to create restore point in windows server 2008 service pack1

    hi i am bhaskar ... how to create restore point in windows server 2008 service pack1 and how to restore system from a restore point in windows server 2008 service pack1.. is this option available or not ? what is the difference between shadow copies and
    restore point ? instead of restore point we have this shadow copies option in windows server 2008 ?Bhaskar

    AFIK, Restore Points doesn’t exist in Windows 2008.
    Volume Shadow Copy option can be used to achieve:
    Creating consistent backups of open files and applications
    Creating shadow copies for shared folders
    Creating transportable shadow copies using a hardware provider — for backup, testing and data mining scenarios
    Quickly recovering and restoring files and data
    It is more like a file, data, application backup.

  • How to create Mount Point in Linux

    Hi,
    I m new to Linux OS, want to install Oracle EBS R12 on OEL 5.6 . I have downloaded s/w and installed all required packages for OEL.
    Now i want to create Staging directory at location /u01/StageR12.
    Can anyone guide me for how to create Mount point /u01 and how to assign space of 53 GB to it.... ?
    Reply awaited...

    You're on the right path.
    Keep in mind though what you need partition wise just for o/s install. You should have at least 3 partitions:
    - a ?? GB partition for the / (root) mount (the size depends on what you will install and how much space you will need for running that s/w)
    - a 128MB or larger partition for the /boot mount
    - a ?? GB partition as swap space mount (typically rule of thumb is 2x RAM for 4GB and lower, else around 25% of total RAM)
    I would not create separate partitions for the old-style +/u01+ mount points for Oracle. That part of the OFA (Oracle Flexible Architecture) standards are old and pre-ASM and pre- automated Oracle managed data files.
    You need space for installing an Oracle Home. I do not see the need for a dedicated mount point for that. I use the root file system.
    You need space for the actual database. If you use Oracle ASM, then I would create raw partitions (across disks) to be used for database storage. These will not be mounted or formatted. Instead these will be assigned to an ASM diskgroup (and striped by default) and used for database storage.
    If you do not use ASM, then you need a cooked file system for storage of database file. In that case separate mount point(s) make sense. Also, it makes sense not to manually apply the old OFA standards, but instead use Oracle managed database files. In that case you need a single mount point (e.g.<i>/oracledb</i>) - and set that as the base directory for Oracle to use for the database. Oracle will create an OFA compliant database directory tree and files under that base directory/mount point.
    Keep in mind that the more mount points you have for the database, the more difficult your job becomes to manage storage. The easiest is a single mount point for the database and using Oracle to manage the OFA compliant side for you on that mount point.
    Also, you cannot and should not attempt some kind of manual striping layout of the database across multiple mountpoints. This may have made some sense back 10+ years ago. It no longer does.

  • How to create watch points in ECC 6.0

    Hi Experts,
    How to create watch points in ECC 6.0
    Thanks.

    Dear Kalyan,
    The moment the debugger starts, there will be an icon for "Watchpoint" exactly after F5, F6, F7, F8 and a big STOP red button on the application tool bar. Once you click on that Watchpoint button, it will take you to the screen where you need to define the exact field and its relative operator along with the condition to be checked.
    Hope this is clear. No navigation needed for this.

    I didn't question you about points at all - I was making the point that you have been on SDN a long time and have a lot of points.  Therefore you should know better than to simply cut and paste standard SAP help.  If you don't copy and paste for sake of points, what do you do it for?  It serves no purpose other than to fill up the servers here on SDN.  The original poster appears to have access to a SAP system and SE37 and wants to know how to call a BAPI - they can easily go to SE37 and read the documentation themselves.  Posting it here just adds noise and makes searching harder, as well as taking up more and more space on SDN servers.

  • How do you write UNDO for a text item?? examples? or a REDO??

    How do you write UNDO for a text item?? examples? or a REDO??
    I created a pop-up menu with CUT, COPY, PASTE, UNDO, CLEAR for my text items.
    Using MAGIC menu type works great but there is no MAGIC for UNDO or REDO.....
    How do you write UNDO for a text item?? examples? or a REDO??
    I have Oracle Forms 6i...
    Lets say I highlight all the text in the text item, and start typing over it... then I realize OH NO it is the wrong text field...
    Now I want to UNDO the typing and get back to the previous text.
    I'd use the initial value that was populate right? How do I access that if that is correct?
    Thanks, Bill

    You can use;
    <ITEM> := Get_Item_Property(<ITEM>,DATABASE_VALUE);
    Or you will have to write a pre-text-item trigger;
    PRE-TEXT-ITEM:
    :CTRL.CURRENT_VAL := :<BLOCK>.<ITEM>
    MENU (PL/SQL):
    :<BLOCK>.<ITEM> := :CTRL.CURRENT_VAL;
    You may also want to set the item property back to ITEM_IS_VALID so that item validation does not fire again.

  • How to Create a Cross Reference of an item  in an E-Business Suite

    Hi ,
    I need Help ,how to Create a cross reference of an item in an E-Business Suite
    Regards
    Srini

    Hello Srini,
    Prerequisite to create a cross reference for an item in eBusiness suite is that the item should be created in the master organization and assigned to your organization.
    Navigate to screen Inventory > Items > Cross references. Enter a name for your cross reference.
    Then, click on Assign : a screen is opened. In this screen, you can enter Item and Cross reference value. Note that a cross reference can be defined for an organization or common to all organizations.
    Another kind of cross reference you can create is Customer item (it defines how a customer designates your item). It can be defined through screen
    Inventory > Customer item > Customer Item and Customer item cross references.
    Please refer to Inventory user guide for more detail about this functionalities.

  • How to create multiple BOM of same parent item?

    Hi All,
    Please guide me, How to create multiple BOM of same parent item? I tried but system throws a message as same Parent Item already exist in the table. I am afraid if system supports this functionality or not?

    Hi,
    You are welcome.......
    Well the exact process would be as I mentioned in my previous post.
    1. Create the BOM for an item
    2. Choose this item in the Production Order
    3. Then in this Production order you can change/ delete/ add whichever item you want .
    OR
    If all the child items are completely different from the original BOM then you can use the Special Type BOM in which you can always create the BOM while creating the Production Order itself. There is no standard BOM here.

  • How would I create "bullet point" titles in Premiere CS6, without creating individual titles?

    What I mean by "bullet points" is how they did the titles in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NHGAEqeXTeY
    I know you could do it by creating a different title for each line and then manipulating them on the time line but seems like there should be an easier way to do that. Could someone help me out please? Thanks.

    It might be possible to achieve that effect without creating individual titles, however creating a stack of titles is the easiest and most strait forward way.
    Create a finished screen 1st, with all the elements that will appear by the end of a title sequence. Click the "new title based on current title" button to create a copy, then delete the last title element on the page, then repeat until you are just left with the 1st element that you want to appear on screen.
    Overlay them on your timeline in reverse order of creation, and you have your effect.
    That should be the easiest way.
    Good luck.

  • Center bullet points vertically with text

    CS6 in Windows 7. I've made a custom bullet point that's a square, but it is vertically aligned with the bottom of the first line of text instead of to the center of the first line of text. How do I shift the bullet point up so it's aligned with the center of  the first line of text?
    Here's how it is now.
    Thanks.
    Mark

    You can create a character style to apply to the bullet that adds baseline shift, or since you say this is a custom bullet, you could remake the bullet, and push it higher in relation to the line when you make (which is a more universal solution).
