How to create Chinese Close Captioning in Premiere Pro CC?

I am using an English version Premier Pro CC, the Chinese character will not display on screen when created in the caption window. Do I need a Chinese version of Premiere Pro for creating Chinese close captioning?

Hello,
Have you read through this article yet? Adobe Premiere Pro Help | Importing still images
Seems like the section at the end of the article could be helpful
Resizing imported images
Imported images usually have a higher resolution than imported videos, so they appear cropped when viewed on the Timeline in Premiere Pro.
You can individually adjust the scale of the clips to match the sequence frame size. Or you can use the Set to Frame Size command to quickly resize the image.
When you use the Set To Frame Size command, the native pixel resolution of the image is preserved, letting you see the sharpest resolution when you zoom in on an image.
Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) an image in a Timeline.
You can select multiple images in the Timeline at once by pressing Shift and clicking the images.
Select Set To Frame Size.
When you select the Set To Frame Size command, the Scale To Frame Size setting is toggled off for improved playback performance.
Please let us know if this does the trick or if you need further help.
Best,

  • How do I import closed captions in Premiere Pro CC?

Now that Premiere Pro has close captioning we can import text as a layer in the timeline.
However, it only takes certain types of files. In the top video of this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/closed-captioning.html
Jeff Sengstack says that Premiere can accept 4 different file types for close captioning but he only mentions Scenarist.
I have my close captioning file in a .txt format but Premiere will not allow that type of file. So I have a couple questions:
    1. What are the other file types that can be imported for close captioning?
    2. Is there a way to convert a .txt file to a Scenarist format (scc)?

And here I thought I was giving you more info than you asked for, but fair point ;-)
So first of all, 608 and Teletext are different standards for encoding captions. In general, 608 is for NTSC (the video standard in the U.S., Japan, and several other countries), while Teletext goes with PAL (Europe, China, Australia, and elsewhere.) There are a number of differences between them. To learn more, you might start with this Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Closed_captioninghttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Closed_captioning.
As for how to convert your .txt file to one of the supported file types, I don't have a direct answer, but you might start by searching the Web for "captions convert txt to scc." I have limited experience with a few of the third-party captions authoring apps, which I expect can ingest a txt file and encode it in the given app's preferred flavor. On the 608 side, the ones I know of are CaptionMaker (for Win) and MacCaption (I'll let you guess which platform that's for). For Teletext, you might try Annotation Edit. Note that I'm merely listing the ones that I'm familiar with. I really don't know enough to recommend any of these programs.
One final note: The captioning features that we added to PPRO CC are geared toward providing a flexible workflow with imported captions--i.e., captions authored in some other program. PPRO CC now supports editing caption content (say to correct a typo or expunge swear words) and trimming caption track items just like any other assets.
You can also create synthetic caption assets and populate them from scratch, which could be handy for short projects or for filling holes in the imported caption sidecar. However, I would not recommend attempting to author all the captions for a project of any substantial length within Premiere. It's simply not designed for that, and there are dedicated programs that do this far better.

  • How to create this lighting effect in Premiere Pro or After Effects?

    Hey,
I'm a student and premiere beginner and I'm trying to make my first video in premiere. In this video,  Drawing Channing Tatum - YouTube ,  you will see that lighting effects in the first 10 seconds. How can i create this?
    I thank you so much!
    Marie

That is stock footage of the ends of a film roll exposed to light during the loading process that is simply laid over the video with the add or screen blend mode applied. You can search for "film damage" stock footage and find something that would work from stock footage houses. You can fake your own with shape layers, blurs and opacity animations using the same add or screen blend mode. It's just much harder to get the film damage to look "real."
Here's what my google search turned up as the first link to stock footage. I have no relationship with this company and have never used their footage.

You could also just get your smart phone close to a lightbulb, make sure it's out of focus and then move it around.

  • Creating Closed Caption in Premiere Pro Cs6

    Hello,
I am trying to create Closed Caption from the scratch in Premiere Pro CS6. I watched couple of videos of internet.
But I dont see "Caption" menu and when I create a "New Item", it doesn't show me "caption" option to create new caption.
Where I can find Caption Menu to create new closed caption in Premiere Pro Cs6 ?
    Thanks!

You have a few choices -- there are two commercial products that I have used and know about, to create sidecar closed captioning files that are usable in PPRO and follow industry standarads for CC: CPC (www.cpcweb.com) makes a authoring program called 'MacCaption' for MAC and 'Caption Maker' for WIN. Also, a German company (www.zeitanker.com) makes a program called 'Annotation Edit'.

  • Create closed caption within Premiere Pro

Question: I'm using Premiere Pro 6 on a intel Xeon mac osx 10.8.3. I need to do captions for my project. I followed the Tutorial on "Create closed caption within Premiere Pro". When it comes to going to the window tab and selecting Captions.
Problem: in my copy of Premiere Pro 6 there isn't  this option for selecting the captions buttton.  How can this be resolved ?

That tutorial is talking about Premiere Pro CC, which doesn't come out until June 17th.  The current CS6 version cannot actually create Closed Captioned files.  You need to do that in a third party program for import into PP.

  • How do I find past projects in Premiere Pro?

    Hey Everyone,
I was wanting to make an alteration to a project I finalized last month but since then it has gone off my 'recent project' list once I open premiere. I can't find it in my auto save folder on my PC also. I can only find the rendered files and some peak files. How do I find old projects in Premiere Pro? Thanks in advance, all of you guys are awesome.

Why do you want to use an obsolete version of the software?
Photoshop CS6 supposedly is available in simplified and traditional Chinese language versions and as I supect you are not likely to get a lot of support for CS2 you may want to consider purchasing a license.

I’ve read that the Cloud License allows for installing multiple language versions by the way.

  • Close Captioning on Premiere CC

Yesterday I had to get a tape out for delivery. I came back to the shop and found my online editor with his head is his hands while my show was going to tape.  The image was skipping tons of frames.
Close capationing was working though. I had just moved a new system into online, all our preliminary tests went great and this was not supposed to be happening. We are using a Black Magic Design i/o.
I had made sure all the settings were correct. Unrendered timelines played fine, put the close captioning file on the time line and playback would stutter. We rendered the time line and we were getting two skip frames per 5 minute segment.
My online editor tried to go to tape and was at his wits end. That is when i threw everything I had read online out the window and tried something completely new.
I render the timeline (which was yellow lined) without the captioning present. Like i said it was playing fine without the captioning so i am not sure why i thought of this. I then added the close captioning to the timeline.
The time line now went from green to yellow again but the project now played flawlessly and we got our tape out in time.
Maybe this is how you are supposed to do it and I missed something. I am posting this in case it helps someone get threw their day with a lttle less stress.

    Hi,
    Thanks for providing your workarounds.
I wanted to see if I can get some more details about your setup.
    - What OS/system specs
    - What Blackmagic card and driver version
    - What format are you using
    - What format are your Closed Caption files? MCC, SCC, ect...
    - What deck are you going out to? SDI?
Thanks for your time. This info will be helpful trying to determine your problem.

  • What is the best software for creating SCC/MCC files for closed captioning in Premiere pro?

I have experiemented with the demo version of MacCaption to create SCC/MCC files that I am importing into Premiere Pro for Closed Captioning. It seems to work okay, but before I purchase it I was wondering if it is the best software choice for my workflow? Would anyone recommend something different? Thanks!

PMJI, but I recently started using a program called Subtitle Edit (http://www.nikse.dk/SubtitleEdit/) not to be confused with another program called Subtitle Editor.
Subtitle Edit is open source, full featured and supports dozens of file types(in/out and convert).  I use it in conjunction with our Accordent(now Polycom) Capture Station webinar systems.  I haven't used in conjunction with AdobeCS products yet, but it does list Encore and Captivate in it's I/O list.  It's definitely worth a look-see.

  • How to create a custom caption style?

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a custom caption style in Captivate 6 and am unable to do this. I do not want to use any of the inbuilt caption styles such as Adobe Blue, Halo, etc. instead I need to create a caption style based on the color of my client's brand. I thought this would be as simple as creating a box with the color I need in an image editor and pasting the bitmap into the folder where the other caption styles are but this didn't work. When I select the caption style that I created, the preview shows me a transparent box with only the text "Line 1, Line 2" and when I use that style all I get is a transparent box. Can someone please help.
    Thanks,
    Sean

It is not that simple... reason I almost never use those old captions anymore but replaced them by shapes (much easier to format).
Have a look at the available captions: for each caption you'll need a bmp and a fcm file, and follow naming conventions. See:
