How to create Links help
A question I should know the answer to but it has slipped my mind.
I select a group of words and make a link. Say the words selected is a name. I go ahead and make a link. In use this updates the browser window I am in.
How do I instead create a new browser window using the URL.

It can be shown in action at January 1906. Click on the "Image Info" button in the navigation bar to open a little sub-window. This was created with Cody Lindly's Thickbox. A most wonderful little jQuery script.
The itilacized keywords are on my site. All the others are external. Clicking on the first instance of Emanuel Swedenborg shows the use of "_self". This is the default usage whether or not the target is explicitly denoted. The second Emanuel Swedenborg shows the usage of target="_top". This opens the target URL within the same browser window now open.
The usage of target="_blank" would start a new instance of the browser program. The target="_parent" does the same as the "_top".
The problem I was running into is that the URLs external to my web site were getting blown away in the aesthetics. Meanwhile I wanted the pages internal to my site to still open within my little Thickbox window. By setting the target sub-parameter I can have both worlds.

there are two types of search helps .
1. elementary search help .
2. collective serch help
Below are the steps to create elementary search helps :
1 In the initial screen of the ABAP Dictionary, select object class Search help, enter the name of the search help and choose Create.
2.then youget a option elementary or collective search as per you r need .
3.select Elementary search help and choose
4.write explanatory text in the field Short text.
5. in the selection method give the name of the table or a view .
6 . Select the fields that should be used for value selection or in a hit list .
7. then define the attributes of the search help .
8 Select the IMP flag if it is an import parameter. Select the EXP flag if it is an export parameter.
9 .define the dialog type of the search help.
The dialog type tells how the hit list will be displayed in the input help.
10 . save and activate .

I have finished my "homepage" and it has 5 buttons on it.("home",
"Contact us", etc.).
I have no idea how to create links to other pages i create.
For example, if the user clicks on "Contact us", i wnat contact information
to appear. So, do i create another html document that will contain contact
information and then call that page whenever the user clicks "Contact us". Or
do i just create another applet that contains contact information and display
the applet in the appropriate area, whenever the user clicks "contact us".
Hope that wasnt confusing. Bascially, I am sitting here looking at my buttons, not knowing
what code to put under the actionPerfomed part of each button.

.... so when ur user clicks on Contact Us..... he/she will be taken to another page...
there are other techniques besides this.... but it is always better to stick with the easiest one
... so you need to create separate pages for all of your links....

I have a search textbox in which the user has to give the search string like date of birth. For the search string , records will be retrieved from the database. The number of recordds will vary. Only the names of the corresponding person has to be displayed. Each one will have a hyperlink and on clicking the hyperlink the other information like name,address should be displayed.

Another one for getting the information about the particular name. use request.getParamter method in the destination Jsp and do one more DB call by using the input parameter.
Note: This is working only unique Name. otherwise use HashMap for getting the userId and Name. By passing the userId in the backend we can get the information.

How to create links in navigation tabs?
This is probably a silly question. In the other template I use, (which is a spry asset, and this is likely the difference), I select the area and the "properties" area below becomes available, and I can create the link.
These particular tabs don't do that . . . how can I link them to other pages in the site?

this seems to have totally fixed the navigation problem. I was very careful to use the code you suggested, and not delete or add anything else.
However, I HAVE goofed something up in getting the stylesheet saved to the directory. Now when I open the index and other pages in DW, they do not appear to be "connected" to a stylesheet! When I click on "stylesheet.css" in the menu tabs, I get this dialogue in yellow: " 'stylesheet.css' cannot be found. If the file exists on the server, use the Files panel to get the file from the server."
The file exists right in the directory under local files in DW. It exists in the "publish" folder.
I'm afraid to make further changes . . . and client is getting cranky . . . help?

How to create Links dynamically
Hello,
I've tried for several days to create links dynamically, and
I can't get it work out.
Here is what my application do : in a
viewstack, I create dynamically some
canvas as children of the viewstack. The number of canvas
depend on the number of items in an arraycollection.
Creation of a canvas (included in a "for" loop):
Objet_Courant = Curseur.current;
var canvas_cible:Canvas = new Canvas;
canvas_cible.id = "CN_"+i;
canvas_cible.width = 315;
canvas_cible.height = 160;
ViewStack_cible.addChild(canvas_cible);
I inject content in each canvas the same way :
var newModele:Text = new Text;
newModele.id = "MODELE_"+i;
newModele.text = (Objet_Courant.modele) as String;
canvas_cible.addChild(newModele);
And now my question (at last) : I would like to create links,
for example on the text item. The URL of the link would come from
the arraycollection, as the other datas I use.
Does anyone have a clue for this ?
Thanks in advance.I still get stuck with this problem, even several months
after... I had the same problem with creating links on images, when
I dynamically create Tilelists with images as an ItemRenderer. How
can we associate links with the images ?
Any kind of help would be great :)
