  • How to create OEMS JMS In-Memory and File-Based Persistence?

    Anyone knows how to create OEMS JMS In-Memory and File-Based Persistence? Any help it is appreciated. I m working with Oracle BAM 11g TP4 and I want to test the capability of connecting directly to a JMS queue, and reading Oracle´s "complex" documentation I couldnt find the right way to make this happen.

    Hi Mario
    This is explained in the soa developer's guide. Chapter 43 "Enterprise message source"should help you. You will find how to connect OEMS or JMS in-memory/file based to your BAM data objects with or without xpath transformation.
    You can find sample of advanced XML formating in the 10g tech note: "Oracle BAM 10.1.3 configuration for BPEL 10.1.2 using JMS sensors" (useful even if you don't plan to use BPEL).
    Anyway, if you plan to use BPEL, forget JMS and use the BAM adapter (chapter 42), it's quicker & easier.

  • How to install OEM 10g using an existing database on another host

    Hi,
    I've created a 10g database (on host solaris_x86) which I like to use for the OEM 10G GC (on host linux_x86).
    If I install OEM using existing DB, then the installer expect the database is running locally.
    If I install OEM using new DB, then the installer complains that I've less then 1GB memory.
    Does somebody know how to solve this?

    Something is wrong ... Remote database works fine.
    we are using Tru64 OMS against Windows DB.

  • Creating Standby database in OEM 10g

    DB = Oracle 10.2.0.4
    OS = Solaris 10 Sparc
    I am trying to create a physical standby database using the add standby database option within OEM 10g. This is something we have done numerous times before on 10g and 11g db's without a single issue, but for some reason, this time after selecting my RMAN backup location and staging area location , I am getting the following error when I click Next:
    RMAN Backup Location - The specified RMAN backup is invalid. Could not identify controlfile from the backup
    It is the latest backup (using RMAN catalog) from the previous evening and includes datafiles and control file.

    The only difference between creating a standby for this db and others we have created is that the file system the backups are stored on is on a non-global zone shared via nfs mount.
    I know that when I try and share that filesystem with other servers I get the message:
    share_nfs: Cannot share filesystems in non-global zones
    If the /backup filesystem is not shared with any other servers would OEM be able to read from that NGZ? The filesystem is available to connect to using ssh from other locations, but not sure how OEM handles this part of the process.
    Any advice would be great.
    Regards,
    JP

    Thanks for the reply. I thought that is what I would need to do. However this link is very useful and could resolve the issue. I have yet to raise it with the system admin guys here yet but will do and will report back on outcome.

  • How to setup DISK SPACE alert on OEM 10g Grid Control...

    Gurus,
    I am trying to setup DISK SPACE notification / alert thru OEM 10g Grid Control, but so far no luck.
    Can someone help/guide me on how to achieve this?
    Please advice.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kartik

    Those two links don't say anything about "DISK SPACE ALERT" I already know how to setup notification. I suppose you are talking about Filesystem Space Available (%)
    If you need to setup an alert (Notification) then i suppose you need to setup an notification rule.
    Yes, these notes do not have the key word "DISK SPACE ALERT" you are looking for, but if you go through the first note CLEARLY and COMPLETELY, you should find your answer.
    And he has given an example for Filesystem space available in this note, which is what you are looking for.(I think so)
    Say for Disk Space, you create a notification rule for target hosts and have metric "Filesystem Space Available (%)" defined in that rule.
    If you aren't talking about notifications and just want to setup an filesystem space available metic, then follow this note:

    How do you execute your Reports ?
    Do you execute it from the Builder ?
    If you execute it from the Builder, do you use Run Web Layout or Run Paper Layout ?
    (If you have upgraded a Reports From 6i, there is no web layout , so you have to use the Run paper Layout

  • How we create new data base in oracle 10g express edition

    hello every body.. i student of B tech n new user of oracle so please help me how we creat new data base in oracle 10g express edition

    Hello, Oracle XE can not create more than one instance, the other editions yes, but like other editions XE allows you to create database schemas, schemas logically grouped objects like tables, views, indexes created by a user. By creating an Oracle user is associated with a schema of the same name.
    Using SYS or system accounts for creating user accounts.
    Syntax to create a user:
    create user Your_user
    IDENTIFIED BY password
    default tablespace users;
    grant connect, resources to your_user;

    You cannot: there can only be one XE database per host and it's created when you install Oracle XE.

  • How to Create A new Database in the oracle 10g XE

    i have oracle 10g XE i tried to create a new database but its giveing me error when i execute the sql command that is create database testDatabase how to create a new database in oracle 10g XE

    Hi there 785434,
    (This is a generic SQL question relating to Database Triggers, please post future questions of this type into the relevant forum area.)
    Moderator, please move this if able
    I use Before Update and Before Delete Triggers to record a 'snapshot' of the row being changed in my applications.
    Example:
    CREATE TABLE TEST
    DATA VARCHAR2(64 CHAR),
    CREATING_USERID VARCHAR2(20 CHAR) DEFAULT user NOT NULL,
    CREATED_DATE DATE NOT NULL,
    CHANGED_BY_USERID VARCHAR2(20 CHAR),
    CHANGED_DATE DATE
    LOGGING
    STORAGE
    (MAXEXTENTS UNLIMITED);
    CREATE TABLE TEST_HISTORY
    DATA VARCHAR2(64 CHAR),
    CREATING_USERID VARCHAR2(20 CHAR) DEFAULT user NOT NULL,
    CREATED_DATE DATE NOT NULL,
    CHANGED_BY_USERID VARCHAR2(20 CHAR),
    CHANGED_DATE DATE,
    CHANGE_DESCRIPTION
    NOLOGGING
    STORAGE
    (MAXEXTENTS UNLIMITED);
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER TRG_BU_TEST
    BEFORE UPDATE ON TEST FOR EACH ROW
    BEGIN
    INSERT /*+ append */ INTO TEST_HISTORY
    (DATA, CREATING_USERID, CREATED_DATE, CHANGED_BY_USERID, CHANGED_DATE, CHANGE_DESCRIPTION)
    VALUES
    (:old.DATA, :old.CREATING_USERID, :old.CREATED_DATE, USER, SYSDATE, 'UPDATE');
    END;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER TRG_BD_TEST
    BEFORE DELETE ON TEST FOR EACH ROW
    BEGIN
    INSERT /*+ append */ INTO TEST_HISTORY
    (DATA, CREATING_USERID, CREATED_DATE, CHANGED_BY_USERID, CHANGED_DATE, CHANGE_DESCRIPTION)
    VALUES
    (:old.DATA, :old.CREATING_USERID, :old.CREATED_DATE, USER, SYSDATE, 'DELETE');
    END;
    Using triggers like this will record who made an update or delete to the database and record the row before it was changed.
    Note that this method might not be suitable for very high transaction rates.
    You will need to 'clear' these history tables as part of routine maintenance.
    Hope that this Helps.
    Ronald.

  • How to create ODBC connection between Oracle 10g and MS SQL Server

    Hi,
    Can someone help us with the steps to create an ODBC connection between Oracle APPS using Oracle 10g database and MS SQL Server.
    Requirement is to extract the transactional data from MS SQL Server on a daily basis and dump it into Oracle tables for an interface to be run. Currently it is being done through Dataloader tool which we feel is causing the data issue with Arabic characters. We want to create the ODBC directly between Oracle and MS SQL Server and check if the data is being pulled correctly.
    The data is in sql server 2000 which has data in Arabic_CI_AS character set which is moved to Oracle 10.2.0.3 database with characterset AL32UTF8. The table data is moved to oracle using the dataloader 3.6 standard edition licensed version. We cannot change the character set of Sql Server 2000.
    Please help
    Thanks
    Shanil

    Hi,
    If you're trying to PULL data from SQLServer into an Oracle database, you wouldnt use Oracle ODBC driver for that, so you may want to post in the Heterogeneous Services forum instead:
    Heterogeneous Connectivity
    If you're trying to PUSH data from SQLServer into an Oracle database, you could use ODBC but most folks use OLEDB for that, and the following note on MOS should help:
    How to Create a Sql Server Linked Server With The Oracle Provider for OLE DB     (Doc ID 191368.1)
    As with any NLS related issue, the first thing to do is dump the codepoints of the data in the Oracle database to see if it is stored validly, rather than relying on what the data "looks like" from some tool or other. It's best to check a single row, with only a few characters in it if you can, and you can do that via
    SELECT DUMP(<columname>,1016) FROM <tablename> WHERE ...
    Hope it helps,
    Greg
