How to create the connection pool using jdbc20 driver?

Hi all,
My configuration is WL4.5 SP5 + jdk1.2.2+WinNT+ Oracle thin driver
8.1.6.
It is creating the connections with weblogic.jdbc.pool.Driver, whereas i
want the connections in the pool to be created with jdbc20 driver. This
how my pool definition is defined.
weblogic.jdbc.connectionPool.PoolName=\
url=jdbc:oracle:thin:@<IP address>:<Instance>,\
driver=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver,\
loginDelaySecs=1,\
initialCapacity=1,\
maxCapacity=40,\
capacityIncrement=2,\
allowShrinking=true,\
shrinkPeriodMins=5,\
refreshMinutes=10,\
testTable=dual,\
props=user=XXXX;password=XXXX
The reason is I want to use BLOB's. I have a message posted in jdbc news
group with the exception i got. But since this more of a environement
issue i am posting it here.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks
John

Here is the correct pool definition.
################JDBC20 Driver#########################
weblogic.jdbc.connectionPool.jdbc20Pool=\
url=jdbc20:weblogic:oracle,\
driver=weblogic.jdbc20.oci.Driver,\
loginDelaySecs=1,\
initialCapacity=1,\
maxCapacity=1,\
capacityIncrement=2,\
allowShrinking=true,\
shrinkPeriodMins=15,\
refreshMinutes=10,\
testTable=dual,\
props=user=SCOTT;password=tiger;server=goldengate
weblogic.allow.reserve.weblogic.jdbc.connectionPool.jdbc20Pool=guest
Hope this helps,

  • How to create dvd/cd image using super drive in MacBook Air

    I have MacBook Air and also Apple Supper drive for the same. can u help me to find dvd/cd burrning and copy software. and also guide me "how to create dvd/cd image using super drive in MacBook Air"

    First to create a video DVD you need to use DVD authoring software like iDVD.  You can purchase it from the online Apple Store while supplies last.
    For creating a disk image use Disk Utility.
    To burn items to a CD or data DVD just insert the disc in the optical drive and drag those items onto the disc icon on the Desktop.  Then drag the disc icon to the Trash icon in the Dock which changes to a Burn icon.

  • How to change the connection pool configuration on OC4J?

    Hi everybody,
    I am developing an application with JDeveloper which is running on an OC4J standalone server, we have 2 enviroments, the develop server and the server of the client, and the data base connection configurations are differents.
    The problem is that if we try to deploy the application (we have deploy on the develop server) on the client server and try to change the connection pool configuration the application cannot connect to the data base, we need to re-build the project with the client connection pool configuration.
    We tried to change the configuration on the enterprise manager of the OC4J, on "JDBC Resources" panel, and the test the connection is ok, but when try to access to the application we get an Exception. After that we try to do that changing the parameters from the datasources.xml file on the application, but the result is the same.
    How can we change the DataBase configuration without re-build the project?
    Thanks very much
    Tony

    Meaning you have created just the empty data-sources.xml and not configured any Connection Pool and DataSource in JDev?
    In Oracle AS 10.1.3 you have two ways to do this:
    1. Use JDev and configure the data-sources.xml (Context Menu -> Properties)
    2. In Oracle AS: Select application -> Administration -> Services -> JDBC Resources -> Create Pool and Create DataSource

  • How to Create a connection pool in OSB java callout

    Dear Team,
    In our project, we need read some data from DB, and do corresponding operation. currently, we need setup the connection first, execute the SQL, and close the connection.
    But the concurrency of call is very high, is there a way to create a connection pool, then we can use the connection pool to get the connection and execute the SQL, then return the connection to the pool.
    if connection pool is not available, is there any way to create the connection outside the java callout, that we can just execute the SQL in java callout.
    The OSB version is 11.1.1.6.0
    Thanks.

    Hi Team,
    Thanks for your help.
    What I need is not only the db connection, may be other kind of things, such as read configuration from file...
    If I write the code in java callout with static java method to create and close the connection, each time when request come in, OSB will create a new connection (or read the file), I think it's not the best practice to do this kind of work.
    I think the weblogic is running in JVM, is there any way we can define variables or new object in the JVM directly?

  • How to Troubleshoot the Connection Pool Exception?

    Dear Oracle Gurus, very good afternoon to you.
    I'm looking forward for some tips/troubleshoting guide to escape from the below exception, that occres very frequently to one of application that 100+ users will login from different locations & work on and update the data and save their work, where all in sudden they can't acces the application and it gets down.
    Most of the times in the server log I observed below.
    weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolLimitSQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceLimitException: No resources currently available in pool RemoteDesktop.main to allocate to applications, please increase the size of the pool and retry..
    Please help me on, how to overcome this kind of exception.
    In Weblogi c server I see below kind of Warnings.
    If you set the buffer size to zero in a servlet, it would fail to respond and would initiate an infinite loop in the server. WebLogic Server would ultimately display a Errors:
    ExecuteThread: '157' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default' has been busy for "633" seconds working on the request "Http Request: : ../updates/process_manager.jsp", which is more than the configured time (StuckThreadMaxTime) of "600" seconds.
    I searched over google for this kind of error, See otherusers posted the same kind of errors but didn't have any positive replies to troubleshoot this issue.
    I also got Oracle Dev link on Weblogic version upgrade product where they fixed similar kind of error it seems. Which is shown below.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs61/notes/bugfixes2.html -- BUG # CR106186

    This problem was solved with a code fix.
    Looking forward for some help, Thank you inadvance.

    Edited by: user1072948 on Apr 26, 2012 11:55 AM

    I agree that looking into the number of connections that you have open when you see
    weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolLimitSQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceLimitException: No resources currently available in pool RemoteDesktop.main to allocate to applications, please increase the size of the pool and retry..
    would be a good idea; but I would suggest that you don't increase without thinking about the consequences. I would look more closely at what the connections to the database are doing, for instance, how long are the connection being left open for? What are the queries that are being run? Should you expect to see all the connections in the connection pool being used? What is the current connection pool limit? Are you simply going to increase the number of connections to find that they are also waiting? What is the load on the database at the time?
    It's the other error that you say you see
    ExecuteThread: '157' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default' has been busy for "633" seconds working on the request "Http Request: : ../updates/process_manager.jsp", which is more than the configured time (StuckThreadMaxTime) of "600" seconds.
    What does this JSP do? Why would this be busy for so long? Is it related to the previous exception that you have? I'd ask you delevelopment team to look into this.
    In short, it sounds like you have load issues on your server(s) and a careful tuning of the system after a full analysis (thread dumps, heap profiling, connection pool monitoring and code review) would probably be beneficial. It may be that restricting the thread pool may help, it may be that increasing the connection pool would help. I'd not plump for a quick fix here.

  • Creating a connection pool using SQL Server 2000, Sun ONE Application Serve

    Has any one succesfully configured SQL Server 2000 to work with Sun ONE Application Server 7 on Windows 2000 server service pack 4? I am embarking on a new J2EE project and I need to configure it as soon as possible.
    The problem I am having is that, when I ping the data souce name, there is a connection error.
    I have set the data source name and other details as follows:
    Under JDBC, I have set the parameters for the connection pool as follows:
    Data Source Name:      com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    Database Name:          jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;DatabaseName=Test
    User:               test

    c:\microsoft\drivers/lib/msbase.jar
    c:\microsoft\drivers/lib/msutil.jar
    c:\microsoft\drivers/lib/mssqlserver.jar

  • Error in creating a connection pool (No suitable driver)

    I try to create a connection pool in a Weblogic server 7.0 with the following config:
    URL:
    jdbc:oracle:oci9:@db_name
    Driver Classname:
    oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Properties(key=value):
    user=user_name
    password=user_password
    dll=ocijdbc9
    server=db_name
    protocol=oci
    my computer (windows 2000) has installed Oracle 9i client, and this connection
    pool will connect to Oracle 8i server. Besides, I have config classes12.zip in
    the "classpath" and ocijdbc9.dll in the "path" environment variables.
    Can Oracle 9i driver connect to a Oracle 8i server? Or there is other problems?
    Thanks in advance.

    Please try URL = jdbc:oracle:oci8:@db_name... that should be fine.
    Yes, you can connect to 8i oracle database using 9i driver.
    Also, make sure you have classes12.zip in classpath and ocijdbc9.dll in path.
    Thanks,
    Mitesh

  • How to create the trace file using run_report_object at runtime

    Dear All
    using :
    Oracel Application Server 10g
    Oracle Database 11g
    Windows XP/sp3
    I'm using run_report_object to call a report inside the form. THis report is running OK from reports builder, however it's too slow when run from Application server.
    How Can I create a trace file (at runtime) that contains the time spent in sql and formating the layout of the report ??
    Here is My code :
    repid := find_report_object('report5');
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_FILENAME,'INVOICE.REP');
    v_url :='paramform=no';
    v_url := v_url||' FROM_NO=' || :PRINT_BLOCK.FROM_NO ;
    v_url := v_url ||' TO_NO=' || :PRINT_BLOCK.TO_NO ||' FROM_DATE=' || v_from_date ||' TO_DATE='|| v_to_date ||' NO_DATE=' ;
    v_url := v_url ||:PRINT_BLOCK.NO_DATE||' IDENT=' ||:PRINT_BLOCK.IDENT_NO||' REPORT_HEADING='''||V_REPORT_HEADING||'''' ;
    v_url := v_url||' COMPANY_NO='||:global.company_no;
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_OTHER,v_url);
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_SERVER,:GLOBAL.INV_REPORT_SERVER_NAME);
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_DESFORMAT,'pdf');
    v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid);
    IF rep_status = 'FINISHED' THEN
    V1:='/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||substr(v_rep,instr(v_rep,'_',-1)+1);
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||substr(v_rep,instr(v_rep,'_',-1)+1)||'?server='||REPORT_SERVER_NAME,'_blank');
    END IF;
    Thanks a lot

    Slow running reports often are not the result of a flawed report, but rather a flawed configuration. For example:
    1. If you call your reports (from Forms) via the default or inProcess Reports Server, often because startup time is slow, it will appear that it took too long for the report to be delievered. Using a stand-alone Rep Server is the preferred way to do this.
    2. If your Forms application makes numerous calls to RRO (RUN_REPORT_OBJECT), this can tend to result in what might appear as a memory leak (although it is not). The result is delayed processing because of the excessive memory use. This problem has been overcome in Forms/Reports 11 by the use of JVM pooling. However in v10 enabling "6i compatibility" mode is the way to overcome the issue. See Note 266073.1
    3. If the report runs fine from the Builder and it is connecting to the same db as when you run it from App Server, the issue is unlikely a db problem. However, if you want to look anyway, enable sqlnet tracing.
    4. To enable Reports tracing and investigate other tuning options, refer to the Reports 10 documentation:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B14099_11/bi.1012/b14048/pbr_tune.htm
    Almost forgot to mentioned this one....
    If you are using a v11 db with App Server 10, you will probably want to consider reviewing Note 1099035.1 as it discusses an issue related to performance with such a configuration.

  • How to create Union Time Pool using accruals ???

    Hi,
    My client has a unique requirement of creating a Union Time Pool i.e. at the begining of each year the client will have 'X' amount of hours assigned to the pool. Employees under Union Contract will then be eligible to take any leave hours from that time pool as long as they are approved by there supervisor. Now, if we create an element pertaining to the special leave based on Time Pool, then an entry can be made at timecard level and the number of hours remaining can be determined.
    But, this pool is not employee based hence the Hours remaining calculation for the Time Pool is irrespective of any assignment rather its organization/GRE based. How do we implement this using Accruals?
    The client wants to view the balances in the Time Pool within the system. How can that be achieved?
    I understand Accruals Caculation and balances is totally assignment based, how can that be made for GRE/Organization based?
    Any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ujjal

    Hi,
    This is a really interesting scenario.. what are you trying to do
    1. Find a place where the common pool details can be entered at the start of the year
    2. The accrual process should deduct from this pool
    3. On accrual balance for the union should be displayed.
    let us evaluate what are things that cannot be used
    1. Elements can be initialized as the leave pool is for a group of people whereas elements are for an assignment
    2. Balances cannot be used for same reason
    so what are the options that we have..
    1. Store the pool in a lookup that can be created based on a bg or gre (use dff) and use the date fields of the lookup to simulate date track feature in HRMS. This way you would be able to enter values for every year for every bg / gre. Also enable another dff segment to store the balance leave in the pool. This field can be hidden.
    2. You can refer lookup in the accrual rules and evaluate the pool for processing the leave
    3. Customize the form / page to display the remaining pool from based on the person's detail and the lookup. This customization could be complicated instead you can maintain a dff in person/ asg table and write a custom process that will populate the pool balance for all people.
    This one of the suggestion I can give you.. there could be other options that you can evaluate.. but its not going to be simple..
    I hope this helps you.

    Vikash
